Are we bribing God ?

At home we have this practice of praying and offering a denomination of currency to the family deity

When someone in the family fall sick or appearing for an important examination or attending a interview

Or if the family is in dire needs !

Depending upon the quantum of offerings on the extended plate, please note it is 'plate' and not 'palms'

A garland around your neck and generous 'prasad' or a mean stare at you is based on your financial networth

Unlike bribing a human and getting worked up if the work isn't happening

We seldom get angry with God or with the priest even when our prayers aren't answered

Rather we try and increase our offerings to please the God and the priest

And many a times this prayer path leads to fortune tellers and fore teller's

Our journey of bribing our way to fortune/good times goes on untill we realise and wake up to the fact

That 'God' is inside each of us and that our future is in our own hands and in the sincere efforts taken

Let's not bribe God are anyone for that matter but trust in 'Self Reliance' 🙏
