“It’s not your fault. Thanos… has his own standards, but that doesn’t define who you are.” Astra said, her heart heavy with understanding.

“It’s hard to keep going when all you see is everyone else’s success and your own failures. It feels like I can never do anything right,” Zenith said, slumped and staring at the ground. He rubbed his face in frustration, feeling the weight of his struggles.

“Your performance is unacceptable. If you can’t meet the level we need, you won’t have a future in this mission,” Thanos declared coldly, his eyes fixed on Zenith as he continued to struggle. Thanos’s gaze remained stern, showing no signs of leniency.

“We need to find a way to get through this. Thanos’s pressure is affecting our bond. We can’t let this tear us apart,” Astra said, looking at Zenith with deep concern. She placed her hand on his arm, hoping to reassure him amidst their shared struggle.

The last thing you heard was the labored breathing of the one you so dearly loved; struggling against life to keep holding on.

You couldn't forget the way you clung to them, knowing the inevitable was near, but you fooled yourself into believing that if you just held them for a little while longer everything would be alright.

The harsh, broken sobs that spilled out of your mouth was a stark contrast to the bleak, silent night. It seemed to fill the air with a roiling wave of melancholy.

It wasn't supposed to end this way, but Death was rapping on their door; collecting another soul for the afterlife.

Life was a cruel joke, but you didn't understand the punchline.

when thanos dies and the dust settles, the world rebuilds.

the world rebuilds, but pepper potts does not.

she is strong, that is true, she is brave, that is true, but she is tired and grieving and she is not iron.

morgan is not tony, and neither is peter or rhodey or happy or friday or dum-e, but they’re all similar, achingly so, in one way or another.

she thinks that she might be seeing him for the rest of her life, in words and smiles and shadows, flickers of an outline in the corner of her mind.

pepper potts loved tony stark, and she loves him still, though he’s gone and she’s been left behind to pick up the pieces.

she can’t grieve forever, though, has to remember that the world is still spinning and there’s so much work to do, and so she gets back on her feet and picks out a smile for the day, pins it to her face and doesn’t let anyone see how fake it is.

when she stumbles, someone unexpected is there to help her up again.

it’s carol, carol danvers, who finds her in the new avengers compound, clutching a photo of tony and wishing that she could turn back time.

and it’s carol who puts a hand on her shoulder that turns into a hug, who listens to her talk without even a hint of complaint or discomfort, despite them not being particularly close.

later, pepper tries to thank her, but carol just gives her a small smile. “don’t mention it,” she says. “everyone needs a shoulder to cry on sometimes. and, hey, if you ever need to talk again and i’m in the solar system, just give me a call.”

pepper smiles back, and, yes, she does find herself taking her up on that offer.

they become friends, and maybe, one day, in a distant future much brighter than their current, painful present, something more.

So as mentioned in my previous post about this bingo, my birthday is next month. And for that occasion I wanted to host another bingo! Like my last bingo in October 2021, this one will have moodboards to the squares. This is another thing I had planned. I love Rogue ever since I can remember as someone who grew up with X-Men animated series reruns. This is headcanons and there is one drabble too.

This is also related to Super Powers AU prompt

Prior info: Anne Marie aka Rogue is from X-Men. When her skin makes contact with another person's skin, she absorbs their lifeforce, powers, abilities and memories. In comics, she gained flight and super strength ability from Carol Danvers.

Setting: MC who has Rogue's powers

MC/Yuu

MC has never felt comfortable with themselves as they couldn't control their so-called gift, something which they viewed as a curse that prevented them from certain things. They had been ostracized by family and friends when they couldn't control their powers.

Going to Twisted Wonderland is a great opportunity for MC to start over as no one would know them nor their curse so they have more chance of a normal life. They just need to keep their ability a secret.

At the entrance ceremony, they are grateful that the outfit covers most of their skin so less chance of making a contact with someone. They panic when Grimm then Dire get too close to them but thankfully there is no direct contact.

When Ace, Deuce, Grimm and MC are fighting against the overblot monster in the mines, it seems like they would lose so they lure the monster inside the mines. They remove their gloves and touch the monster, absorbing their power and memories but lets it go before they suck his entire life force and have his personality inside their mind for the rest of their lives. They run back outside, followed by the weakened monster who gets defeated by the one brain cell trio. Their secret is safe for now.

MC is glad that the white part of their hair is considered normal in Twisted Wonderland which is a huge change from what they experienced on Earth. Everyone thinks they are just regular magicless human and they are quite happy about it.

They wear skin-tight gloves that cover from fingers to the elbow and a shirt that covers their neck under the school uniform so there would be less chance of making skin contact.

Malleus is one of the persons that they can get along well since he keeps a respectable distance and doesn't force them to do work. They also understand him as they were an outcast on Earth too.

MC has a brief meeting with Idia once and he is glad that they kept their distance. thinking that they also have social phobia as they looked panicked, happy that he isn't the only one with it. In reality, MC had lost their gloves and was in a panic state as they thought they could harm someone.

When Idia is kidnapped and everyone is trying to propose to Eliza, MC is sent to aid them as expected. It was normal for them and they are unlikely to get hurt and they still feel guilt from their past. By helping others, they hope to feel better about it. All is well as they arrive at the cafeteria. MC had had enough with Eliza's bullshit excuse and speaks their mind which results in receiving a slap from her. But things don't go as she expected. Eliza's hand comes more materialized enough to slap MC and the moment she slaps them, her hand stays on their cheek until they withdraw back. 

Eliza feels sudden pain from the slap that should have hurt MC. Then MC sees a few of her memories and thinks there is no turn back now. "Why did you touch me? You shouldn't have done that." They slowly remove their gloves. "I wish there was another way," They say with pain in their voice.

MC's cubs Eliza's face with their hands. Her memories flood their mind as they feel their power transferring to them. They let her go after a few seconds. Her personality surface in MC and their painful memories. "Oh my, Eliza, I know what happened and how you feel but this isn't the way." Before they lose Eliza's powers, they snap their fingers, letting everyone go and put on their gloves again.

Everyone in the room is shocked to see what happened and wants to know how MC managed to do it. Still having Eliza's personality, MC confesses "I'm a mutant and this is my gift as Professor Xavier put it. That's why I've been avoiding you."

This gives a lot to unpack.

Meanwhile Chubby rushes to Eliza's side who is deprived of power at the moment. MC nears them and tells Eliza's true feelings which ends up with their confessions to each other. They thank MC but they are still wary of them.

After their secret is out, MC doesn't hold back anymore. They show off their strength and flight abilities too and becomes a stronger challenger in Magift.

Ashton doesn't allow MC to flight when he gives the task of running around the field. He wonders about their strength and encourages them to enhance their strength. 

Ace, Deuce and Grimm are pissed off because their powers would be very useful when they were fighting against the overbolts. It takes some time for them to build trust again. They understand why MC kept it a secret after MC tells the gang about their past.

MC is the ultimate fighter that would be able to defeat overblotted Malleus and Grimm and of course the rest of the overblots that happened after the ghost marriage's date.
