Although it is not winter, it is possible that there are fewer flowers and other sources of food for the bees right now. Water is also scarce, and so many bees drown as they try to drink from swimming pools. Did you know that grating an apple and adding some water in a bowl, that the bees will be able to get the sugars from the fruit and drink the water, and not drown as they can stand on the fruit pieces?! (Be sure and put it in a shaded area) Our bee populations are threatened, let's give them all the support we can. I saw this great tip a while back, and it really seems to be trending! You can’t live in San Diego and not be familiar with the eye candy that is the #carlsbadflowerfields 🤩 Between late March and mid-May thousands of ranunculus cover the hillside east of the 5 fwy in Carlsbad! ~swipe~ What was once a vegetable farm, #ranunculus were not planted on this acreage until 1920, and in 1993 this working farm was opened up to the public. Although only in bloom for two months every spring, they ultimately produce bulbs and seeds that are sold to gardeners and garden centers around the world. I bet you’ve noticed, that celebrating a brewery’s anniversary has really taken on a new look these days. My friends @rouleurbrewing just celebrated their 3 YEAR Anniversary, and everybody knows I adore them, AND the beers they brew! Such a wonderful addition to the brewery landscape here in Carlsbad!
