The U.S. CDC gives final clearance to COVID-19 shots for children between the ages of 5 and 11, and the Atlanta Braves win the 2021 MLB World Series in 6 games defeating the Houston Astros. With the bar officially open while we are not quite free to FULLY roam uninhibited (masks are once again mandatory while indoors due to increased spreading of the Delta variant while more businesses require proof of vaccination), tonight's elixir is a 4pk I recently picked up at one of my favorite breweries: Macleod Ale Brewing Co. & Toast Ale Collaboration "Stalemate English Hazy IPA" 7.0% ABV - hazy yellow color, bready citrus aroma, low body, bready citrus hoppy tropical flavor, crisp finish, and a light bitter citrus hoppy aftertaste. Paired with some @Mcdonalds takeout that I couldn't resist because of one special menu item: °McRib Sandwiches °6pc Chicken McNuggets °Small French Fries °Pumpkin & Creme Pie Drank and dined while watching "Dune" starring Timotheé Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and more streaming on @HBOMax. Russian River Brewing Company; Pliney for president. Double Dry Hopped Double ndian Pale Ale #SupportLocalBreweries #DrinkLocal #CaliforniaBeer This was an epic beer by @russianriverbrewingofficial . A big thanks to my friend @beer_1st_luv for this beer. This was a super malty Double IPA. I was very excited about this beer and I was completely satisfied after having this one. I loved this one, part of the reason was that this never tasted like a double IPA. This was a super smooth, malty heaven. Pour pale golden with a touch of hop haze. Had Aromatic pineapple tones, mango slices, orange peel, lychee to release an essential nectar; and a large can of tropical nectar. Taste followed the nose and I felt it had a little Honey. Medium bodied with a juicy, light mouthfeel. Very snacky and very drinkable. The taste also had hints of Underripe stone fruit, nectarine and longan, interspersed with creative dashes of malted sweetness in biscuits. The medium hop burn, mild warmth in the throat and floral bitterness balance the scales, however. Unless you have multiple cans of the same beer but by now you should know I live my life one single can at a time 😂 The Speedway Stout from @alesmithbrewing in San Diego (the Mecca of Craft Beer) is a staple in the stout world. It’s a 12% abv coffee stout and reminds me of the homie @hoppy_urban_diversion and his taste for a nice coffee stout. I think this beer would be a great intro for a lot of people looking to get into the stout world. It’s big and bold, but is kept simple with its roasted coffee notes. A gateway stout if you will. It’s also very much widely available throughout SoCal and I enjoy posting these beers once in awhile that are found without too much effort. "Czechs Who Wear Leather Czech Style Pilsner" 4.9% ABV - hazy dull amber color, light malty wooden pencil aroma, low body, slight bitter dry hoppy malty flavor, drying finish, and a slight bitter hoppy malty aftertaste. Paired with various leftovers from @PortosBakery after catching up with some great longtime friends the day before.
