Hi, my friend. I would like to clarify something. I watched a biography of Felipe V, and the biography states that the Alcazar real palace was burned, and some of the paintings were forever lost. People in the comment section accused Philip V of purposely burning the palace so he could rebuild it. Is this true or is it just a coincidence?

hi, friend . have been busy with college the past days. i will stalk your account right away as always after clearing out this cus i have never ever heard about that gossip ! it actually surprised me . as far as i know the burning was mostly suspected to be from an artist of the court ( Jean Ranc ), who you may know for making that one painting of Felipe V riding a horse with a rainbow in the background (its insane) . but i want to remember him for making this painting of this dog which is named " La perra Liceta " . she seems nice .

I heard Jean Ranc had some sort of blindness or vision problems (actually very normal between artists of the time) , so it makes sense for him to have made some mistake with fire . that was something i read a long time ago and cannot find it on wikipedia right now so this is just me thinking . it is true that it was weird that the royal family wasnt on the alcázar at the time but felipe v never actually liked the place and he was avoidant asf of the stuff he didnt liked so . i dont actually find it sus but yeah the spaniards of the time hated felipe and would have used anything that he did against him . love him he is blorbo .

2. he actually loved all his children but he loved a lot luis i which is kind of a pity because his death was literally . like . the death of him . like wtf . luis was his first one and he has some really funny stories with him and i love them a lot . luis took the gentle and reserved nature both from maria luisa de saboya and felipe . he also took his whore side from felipe v but i let him be . there is something funny ? which no one mentions but i noticed ? which is that felipe v dressed luis i like him ? it wasnt normal at the time to give kids really long wigs but luis i for some reason used them ? which i assume it was felipe v s idea as he also used really long wigs since he was very small ( also not normal from the time - he was just very coquette ) , he was always very french ( in terms of looking too much at himself in the mirror ) . anyway he loved all of them but didnt passed much time with any of them as he was very avoidant of anything tbh . but he personally teached them about religion and fernando vi was very attached to his father , so he probably did bonded with at least the first children he had . cannot say the same about the ones he had with isabel de farnesio as he was mostly depressed during that part of his life . isabel de farnesio loved carlos iii and filippo di parma btw . no one gives a fuck about don luis ( which is btw named after luis i , and was made an archbishop to take spiritual care ? of his family and specially the deceased luis i - he was born 3 years after his death . he also has a record guinnes for being world ' s youngest cardinal ever ? ) . i just finished to put a drawing of don luis on my backpack along with a felipe v as duc de anjou fun fact . may draw some other bourbons to accompany them .

Último relato del año y del reto.

Lo cierto es que he tenido momentos en los que he estado a punto de abandonar el proyecto, pero por un motivo o por otro, al final he terminado sacándolo adelante hasta llegar a hoy, el final.

Quiero hacer una mención especial de agradecimiento a Isabel y @thechosendreamer, que se han leído todos y cada uno de los relatos del año, y a Ana, que los ha ido recopilando en su colección personal y me ha acompañado en el odio a los retos de descripciones absurdas.

Espero que os haya gustado, si es que habéis leído alguno, y si no, tengo una gran noticia: No haré otro en 2018.

————————————————————– 42. Escribe una historia acerca de un personaje que perdió algo importante.

Pulsó la tecla de rebobinar para detenerlo casi al instante. Luego dio de nuevo al play y escuchó. Ahí estaba; un pequeño murmullo grabado en medio del silencio.

- “Sí”

Sintió un escalofrío intenso que le recorrió la espalda como un latigazo. No sabía muy bien por qué, pues sabía que el ente estaba allí. De hecho, podía verlo a través de las gafas de Yaya Mamba. Sin embargo, el escuchar su voz procedente del más allá era algo nuevo para él aun habiendo escuchado varias psicofonías tanto falsas como auténticas.

Por otro lado, permanecer a solas con un fantasma, en medio de la noche, en un vagón de uno de los trenes en activo más antiguos del continente, tampoco contribuía a que terminase de sentirse plenamente cómodo. A pesar de todo, se obligó a mantenerse sereno y ser lo más profesional posible.

- A la pregunta de si es usted consciente de que es un fantasma, y que eso significa que permanece aquí porque debe tener un asunto pendiente; ¿ha respondido usted que sí? -preguntó- Limítese a asentir o negar con la cabeza.

El espectro que tenía en el asiento de enfrente asintió lentamente. Carlos tomó aire antes de hablar.

- Muy bien. Parece que el sistema que fabricó Felipe funciona -dijo mostrando la grabadora de la cual surgían cables de diferentes colores que conectaban con otros aparatos- Aun así, intentaré simplificar la conversación. Le iré formulando una serie de preguntas procurando que las respuestas sean sí o no, de manera que pueda responder asintiendo o negando con la cabeza. En caso de necesitar algún apunte, recurriremos al… -no sabía cómo llamar al invento- …aparato. ¿Está de acuerdo?

El fantasma volvió a asentir.

- Me he tomado la libertad de investigar sobre usted. -explicó extrayendo una carpeta de plástico- Joan Lozano y Rivera. Médico. Natural de Barcelona. ¿Es correcto? -comprobó el gesto afirmativo- Falleció en este mismo tren hace… cincuenta y dos años, si los cálculos con la fecha aquí indicada no me fallan. Tirando un poco más del hilo, vi que viajaba por motivos personales y profesionales. ¿Es así?

El ente afirmó mostrando la mano con dos dedos alzados. Luego habló.

- Repita lo que ha dicho, por favor. Intentaré grabarlo.

Carlos orientó la grabadora hacia el fantasma, que vocalizó sin emitir ningún sonido. Con la mano, le indicó que repitiese la respuesta un par de veces para asegurarse de captarla.

A continuación, rebobinó la cinta y reprodujo su contenido varias veces. La primera vez no oyó nada. La segunda distinguió un murmullo. La tercera y cuarta vez agudizó el oído un poco más.

- ¿Su hermano pequeño? -preguntó para comprobar si había entendido bien el mensaje. El fantasma asintió- Según esto… -dijo rebuscando entre los papeles de la carpeta- …Sí, aquí está. Según esto era usted el mayor de tres hermanos -leyó sosteniendo la hoja ante sus ojos- Usted, Martina y Óscar. El motivo de su viaje era por Óscar.

De nuevo se repitió el asentimiento. Carlos frunció el ceño sin darse cuenta mientras calculaba la diferencia de edad entre los hermanos.

- Si mis cálculos son correctos, usted y su hermano tenían una diferencia de edad de 16 años. Teniendo en cuenta que usted falleció con… -calculó- ¿Veintinueve años? -gesto afirmativo- Pues teniendo en cuenta su edad, sé que su hermano tenía trece años en el momento de la tragedia. ¿Por qué vivía su hermano fuera del país con tan temprana edad?

El fantasma alzó las cejas y miró el aparato de grabación dudando de si captaría lo que, al parecer, era una explicación un poco larga. Finalmente fingió que sostenía un libro invisible y pasaba las páginas.

- ¿Estudiaba fuera? -nuevo asentimiento- ¿Quién financiaba su mantenimiento?

El espíritu se señaló a si mismo. A continuación, señaló el aparato y alzó cuatro dedos. Tardaron más de media hora en juntar las palabras Barcelona, problemático, fuera y provecho.

- En Barcelona su hermano era problemático y usted lo mandó al extranjero a estudiar para que se hiciese alguien de provecho. ¿Es eso lo que quiere decirme? -el fantasma asintió satisfecho- ¿Y qué le impulsó a venir a una zona tan montañosa en pleno invierno? Estoy seguro de que sabría que había fechas mejores para visitar a su hermano.

Joan alzó de nuevo dos dedos y bajó uno. Carlos hizo memoria para recordar en qué momento de la conversación había hecho ese mismo gesto y dedujo.

- Esa era la parte profesional de su viaje. Su hermano estaba enfermo, ¿no?

El espectro asintió con una mirada melancólica. Ahí estaba su asunto pendiente: Jamás llegó hasta su hermano, quien le necesitaba como familia y como médico. La riada que detuvo la marcha del tren y le impulsó a salir a la intemperie, provocándole los cortes que terminarían con su vida, impidieron que llegase hasta su destino y atendiese a un enfermo que le necesitaba. Era un asunto que, cincuenta y dos años después no podría completar.

Pero sí podía darse por superado.

- Nunca llegó a atenderle, y eso es lo que le retiene aquí, Joan -comentó Carlos revisando de nuevo entre las hojas de su carpeta- Deduzco, por los casos que he tratado, que su última voluntad, sus últimos deseos e impulsos más fuertes eran permanecer aquí hasta que el tren llegase a su destino, donde le esperaba su hermano Óscar. Pero su voluntad fue más fuerte que el cuerpo, y se quedó aquí atrapada.

Joan observaba con atención al hombre que, ataviado con unas extrañas gafas, le explicaba su situación mientras depositaba un recorte de papel en el asiento que tenía al lado.

- Imagino que, durante todos estos años, le habrá torturado la culpa y el dolor por no saber qué fue de su hermano; si sobrevivió a las intensas fiebres que padecía. Pero ya le digo que sí, que sobrevivió. También había grandes médicos en Francia que se ocuparon de él.

El fantasma parecía atónito.

- Lo sé porque su hermano, a día de hoy, sigue vivo, Joan. Y no solo eso: Usted quería que se convirtiese en un hombre de provecho, y vaya si lo hizo. Estudió dos ingenierías e hizo arquitectura. Se financió los estudios a base de becas, lo cual es todo un logro. Mire lo que le he dejado ahí -señaló el papel que reposaba en el asiento- Es un artículo de una revista francesa que habla sobre su hermano; Óscar Lozano y Rivera, uno de los mayores ingenieros ferroviarios del siglo. No se me da muy bien el francés, pero por encima pude entender que dice eso.

Observó cómo el ente contemplaba atónito el recorte de la revista.

- Al enterarse de su… tragedia, nada más recuperarse, regresó a Barcelona. Estuvo a punto de dejar los estudios, pero Martina le persuadió y regresó hasta que tuvo la edad de ingresar en la universidad. Según me contó, cada vez que pasaba por el punto donde se produjo la riada, se ponía negro de ira y se juró a si mismo arreglarlo. Imagino que habrá visto los muros que actúan como fuertes diques y el tramo de vía con un puente que recorren la zona que, hace cincuenta y dos años, se anegó de agua. ¿Adivina el nombre del autor?

Joan le contemplaba impresionado, pero, por primera vez, parecía feliz, como si irradiase luz.

- Finalmente su hermano se convirtió en mucho más que el hombre de provecho que usted quería. Solo siento que no haya podido estar ahí para verlo, Joan.

Poco a poco, el espectro que tenía ante él, fue desvaneciéndose hasta dejarle completamente solo en el vagón. Aún sabiendo que, por fin, había cruzado al otro lado, limpió las gafas y comprobó que no había nadie más con él.

Escuchó el chasquido que produjo la grabadora al dejar de grabar y comenzó a reproducir la cinta sin que él hubiese apretado ninguna de las teclas. Pudo escuchar el mensaje claramente:

“Gracias, Carlos.”

Sin poder contenerse, rompió a llorar silenciosa y desconsoladamente en la oscuridad del vagón.
