for my art history project i made a playlist based off of “saturn devouring his son,” by francisco goya. im disturbingly proud of it.

today’s post is about a band that doesn’t get enough recognition. carissa’s wierd were a band formed in arizona, who also had ties to the music scene in the pacific northwest (pnw).

often touring with local bands (mostly of the hardcore variety), carissa’s wierd made a name for themselves by sharing music that was quiet, beautiful, intimate & brutal. later touring with scene mates modest mouse, carissa’s wierd gained a smaller but strong fanbase of heartbroken & forlorn enjoyers of the genre.

today, the band no longer exists but has spawned a successful act known as ‘band of horses’.

attached are some pictures of it raining sideways today & my favorite lyrics from one of my favorite songs by the group. i am also including the album artwork today, as i absolutely love the style the work conveys.

Honestly I listen to so much sad music, someone should pay me for it. I don't know maybe for digging deep into human emotions or sth. The truth is that sad music is actually addictive; pretty much like all sad things. And I guess I am an addict too.
