In Arthurian legend, Merlin was so wise because he aged backwards and was remembering events in Arthur's future.

Merlin's reverse life ended shortly before Arthur became king but it began long long long before/after that.

I put to the assembly that Merlin, in a younger form, appears in other media over the centuries. Creating the basis for other British legends and folklore over the last dozen centuries. ( @glimmeroniron might be able to help with proofs)

Keep calling it Mount Denali. The original name before it was Mount McKinley. Don’t let the First Nations be erased.
