After the success of the Midaro print release last week, I’m delighted to announce the 1st of 3 charity auctions I’ll be doing with @westcontempeditions. - ‘Heart of Glass' is a unique hand-finished screenprint with gold mask & tags. 6 colour screenprint on 76 x 56cm Somerset Satin 410gsm paper. Hand signed and numbered 1/1 by the artist. - All profits from the auction will be going to the wonderful CARE International. The auction finishes at 6pm GMT on 4th APRIL. - CARE International works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. I’m having a lot of fun designing the council members for the Aquarian Capitol. I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from the Four Symbols in Chinese Astrology and divided the government into Four Houses with the Capitol Leader as the acting figure head, as opposed to my original idea of having a single monarchy running all aspects of the government.

I’m planning on changing the animal symbols to fit the ocean theme and have each one govern a sector of the planet I don’t know if Livius will be the head of one of the four Main Houses, but he will be pretty high in the social hierarchy.

I’ve also really leaned in hard with the number eight motif (Eight moons, eight gods, nine pieces of eight, etc.) and made eight Pirate Lords who serve under the Pirate King and each stationed on a moon colony (each moon is different from the others in their own cool way, but that’s a post for another day)

Governor of the Island: Pirate King Gaufrid

Keeper of the Code: Lady Lazalea (spoiler?) - The one who holds the Pirate Code and ensures the laws and regulations are regularly updated and enforced by the captains.

Dispenser of Justice - The one who all space pirates fear. They are tasked with dealing out punishments for convicted pirates, as well as interrogation and kidnapping negotiations.

Commissioner of purchase: The one who formulates military strategies, organising expeditions, and pirate raids.

Charter of the Trading Route - The one who is in charge of securing the economy and the exchange of goods and services for the moon colonies. 

The one in charge of the treasury as well as the rebellion’s financial assets and management of affairs. Glorified accountant.

Supplier of the Floating Armoury - The one in charge of the storage and smuggling of military grade weapons and other illegal merchandise.

Bearer of the Skull and Cross Bones - The one who assigns a custom flag to those granted the rank of captain. They oversea the movements of all space vessels and assigning them roles.

Protector of the Cove - The one who guards the pirate’s territory and civilian population from enemy attack, and protecting the trading route.
