Day 4 (arrival day doesn’t count in my world) of a life changing experience in Japan as @mrssandlittleb’s emotional support human. ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, A.K.A. Lou Gehrig’s Disease) is a viciously brutal disease that’s hard to watch. But in this life, I feel that one of the MOST important responsibilities of being a human being is to be of some use, to help. We all have 2 natures within us, nature of creation or nature of destruction. Part of creation is being of use to those around you, regardless of your own personal benefit. Right now, the best I can be is to be helpful in any way. She likes when I play piano or sing and applauds when I do. If that’s what I’ve got to offer besides staying out of the way, that’s what I can do.
