🗡 he can be a firm and rigid carer and he puts a lot of emphasis on structure and routine. that said, he still genuinely cares about his regressor

🗡 dark cacao often takes his regressor out into the snowy grounds to release energy. he'll stand by diligently, watching them build snowmen or make snow angels

🗡 his chosen nicknames for his regressor are prince (including other versions applicable to gender or preference), little knight/warrior and little one

🗡 his regressor has playdates with dark choco and caramel arrow, and/or these are also their siblings! dark cacao is a very tired father of three 😓

🗡 dark cacao allows his little one to sit on his lap or nearby whilst he works on important kingdom duties

🗡 he lets the other ancient cookies look after you when they visit, but he is super sceptical about it. hollyberry, in his words, has some 'eccentric parenting methods' that earn her the dark cacao side eye

🗡 his carer nicknames are the very basics; dad, father or daddy. being called king or any titles by his regressor makes him very sad

Sorry for making you wait so long, have a cookie 🍪! Anyways, I never even thought about Dark Cacao Cookie as a regressor, but now I kinda love it, so thank you. (NSFW/Kink accounts DNI!)

Definitely not the most open about being little, he would prefer not to allow his vulnerabilities to show. You’d have to pry this out of him(lord knows that Affogato Cookie tried… and failed)

However, even if you do know, he doesn’t like letting you take care of him. He’s still trying to adjust to it

Regresses somewhere in the 2-5 range, but he’s generally 4-5 so he’s a little more independent.

Whenever he feels himself starting to regress, he quickly finds a way to excuse himself from the room and doesn’t come back until much later. When asked about it, he shrugs it off.

He doesn’t like to admit it, whether it’s because of his pride as a battle-hardened king or because of his values, but he prefers being surrounded by softer things when he’s little. Mostly pillows and blankets.

He kinda goes nonverbal when regressed, only saying a few words or nothing at all. He often has to point at what he wants or grab it for himself.

Not very affectionate with any caregivers at first, but slowly he starts warming up and becomes a giant cuddly lump. Good luck prying him off!

Doesn’t really play much, but will occasionally fiddle with wooden swords and the likes. He mostly prefers to just lazy around and do nothing in this state.

When it comes to cookies who do know, a guaranteed one is Caramel Arrow Cookie. That’s canon. I can say that because I’m literally the entirety of DevSis

Regressor!Dark Choco Headcanons

As a general baseline, Dark Choco Cookie is still a reserved and watchful person - and due to his time at the Cookies Of Darkness, despite his own self redemption, doesn't have the best self esteem. But despite that: Dark Choco is a polite, albeit shy character. He never understood Cocoa's kindness towards him—and he still doesn't. He relates to the desire to help other's very, very much. And even envies her, in a way. Regardless, he loves Cocoa Cookie with all of his heart. In, and out of regression.

[Dark Choco Cookie is heavily implied to have depression and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) due to his past experiences, and as such I'll be writing him in a context of healing and rediscovery. Dark Choco is also a teen regressor.]

• Regresses/Age Dream's from 13-14, doesn't fluctuate much regardless of mood or health. Overall very rigid. He found out about age regression/dreaming via some close friends and Cocoa Cookie. His regression is mostly a secret, and sometimes he forgets he's regressing due to the overall mystery surrounding it.

• When regressed, Dark Choco is usually a relaxed homebody —but will run errands if there really needed. Despite Cocoa Cookie's cheerful and inviting demeanor, if Dark Choco is home alone, he will not open the door for anyone but Cocoa. This is mainly due to how he was raised, seeing he grew up in the Dark Cacao Kingdom, and danger lurked around every corner with the snow forest's unpredictability. He's also just shy.

• Currently, he lives with his girlfriend, Cocoa Cookie and helps around the house; making sure everything stays in order. Including every single one of her matching cup's and dinerware. Dark Choco doesn't really understand the appeal—but he tries anyway. He tries to be a good boyfriend to make up for his past misdeeds.

• Despite Dark Chocos independence, Cocoa Cookie is still his caregiver, which usually just involves her doting on him for no reason whatsoever. (And squeezing his cheek's). She helps him calm down after PTSD episodes and self-care. Particularly with his hair, since he struggles with that due to past trauma and association's with his father. She helps him brush it out since it's emotionally very hard for Dark Choco to do. He's very thankful for her help.

• Likes to bake in his spare time, frequently making sweet treats for Cocoa Cookie! She doesn't know this, but Dark Choco does eat some in secret despite saying that he doesn't like sweet's.

• Cocoa Cookie got him one of those really ugly teddy bears for his birthday on accident, he loves it and sleep's with it every night.

• Primarily just calls Cocoa Cookie by her name, or “dear”.

Caregiver!Cocoa Cookie Headcanons

As a general baseline, Cocoa Cookie is a compassionate and patient caregiver, always giving assistance to other's in need no matter what. Despite her obsession with cocoa, sheh as a kind heart—and this doesn't end for the once feared, hated, dark warrior of The Cookie's of Darkness; Dark Choco Cookie. Though he question's her love on a near daily basis, Cocoa is always showing him just how much she loves him. <3

• Despite how petite Cocoa Cookie is —she's relatively strong, being able to sling Dark Choco over her shoulder! Dark Choco also taught her how to do a roundhouse kick.

• Makes hot cocoa for Dark Choco Cookie—she was the reason he got back into eating sweet's, though he doesn't eat them often; he does have to resist the urge to munch on her marshmallow hat..

• Cocoa Cookie likes to do adult coloring books with Dark Choco, much to his chagrin. That's mainly because he's not very good at staying in the lines—he's better with sword's than artiste subjects.

• Now, Dark Choco is quite the homebody, so much to the point that it border's on self-isolation. Obviously, Cocoa Cookie simply can't have this! So she'll take Dark Choco on outings and date's to places she knows he'll like— such as the museum, Mint Cookie's concert's, small restaurants, or walking to the park and people watching (or...Cookie watching!)

• Believe it or not, Dark Choco is also a very good classical dancer (think ball's, waltzes and serenades for reference); Cocoa was surprised to find that out, given that he's more of a warrior than a dancer.

• Dark Choco doesn't really have a lot of personal belongings due to the beliefs of the Dark Cacao Kingdom, so Cocoa will gift him presents —much to Dark Chocos chagrined enjoyment. Cocoa always knows how to make Dark Choco smile after a long day at work or when it's been hard - he just can't get himself to stay mad at such a joyful Cookie.

• Call's Dark Choco "sweetheart", "baby", "baby boy", and sometimes "princess". Rarely call's him by his name unless it's an urgent affair.

Welp, it’s been what? Two whole days that I’ve gotten into shipping Affo and Cacao? Now I’m already getting baby thoughts with Affogato -flops- tbh I’m shocked it didn’t happen sooner :Y

🍨: I see Affogato being an age dreamer actually! Mainly since I see him finding it rather hard to fully slip into a tiny mindset due to his surroundings and work, but he greatly enjoys just taking a moment to relax and be babied 🖤

🍨: Since this is in my agere AU, Dark Cacao and Affo are together and also his caregiver when tiny ^^ 

🍨: Affogato age dreams in private in a secluded room connected to Dark Cacaos bedroom, so the two can always be nearby when Affo is tiny 🖤

Do you have any Dark Choco Cookie headcanons, specifically before their corruption?

Dark Choco got given up for adoption at a young age, though it was an open adoption so Dark Cacao did get to visit and spend time whilst obviously not being the main caregiver

He’s always had a bit of trouble socializing with peers, though it was brushed off as him “just being shy”

Dark Choco really enjoyed having long hair, earning the nickname “Rapunzel” due to it going down to his knees as a child before agreeing to get it cut a bit shorter (it grew back just as long, if not longer)

He really enjoyed learning how to sword fight and self-defense, taking it as a way to protect himself and those he cared about

He ended up getting a really good education (for obvious reasons) and it fueled more into the desire to help and protect others

He typically waddled around after people he knew in public situations

Dark Choco typically tied his hair up with braids and buns

He struggled with shaving because he had to teach himself, resulting in a few remaining scars to remind him of the occurrence

Dark Choco hasn’t always liked wearing the colour black, especially during his younger years he had a phase of resentment where he refused to wear anything black because it linked him to his Kingdom

He was, overall, a pretty happy and easy-to-manage child, he didn’t cry often and he typically kept to himself while playing leading him not to wander off or get lost

As close friends and allies in battle, Dark Cacao Cookie and Pure Vanilla Cookie knew things about each other that no one else did- deep secrets and just odd habits. Something that Pure Vanilla Cookie knew quite a lot about was his friend’s age regression, especially since he took care of him. Dark Cacao Cookie was hesitant about letting Pure Vanilla Cookie care for him, he didn’t like letting his vulnerabilities be known, but there was no fighting with Pure Vanilla Cookie. At the end of the day, the two were still peers and at least a little trust should be expected.

There was another meeting in the Pure Vanilla Kingdom, another round of arguments as everyone had different ideas on what should be done about Dark Enchantress Cookie’s advances. For some reason today, Dark Cacao Cookie could hardly handle the meeting and it was growing to be far too much for the old king. Pure Vanilla Cookie noticed his friend’s distressed state and cleared his throat to speak; “Pardon me, but why don’t we all take a break?” He began, grabbing the attention of the room, “These decisions are quite hard and require a lot of thought, we should all take time to ourselves to make sure our heads are clear.” He finished with an encouraging smile. The other cookies nodded and decided to disperse in their own ways without much question, leaving the two Ancients by their lonesome.

Dark Cacao Cookie buried his face into his arms, a soft sniffling sound emitting from him as his caregiver cooed at him “Oh, little one, I know. Times are very hard right now, I know.” He gently assisted Dark Cacao Cookie into his lap, holding him gently. Although he could hardly argue, Dark Cacao Cookie still tried to resist his oncoming littlespace.

“No, m-my burden to carry.” He protested, earning a gentle shushing from Pure Vanilla Cookie “It’s okay, little one. You don’t have to be strong all the time, you don’t have to carry everything on your own. Would you try to carry all your toys by yourself?”, Dark Cacao Cookie shook his head, “Exactly. You’d ask me for help then, and you can ask me for help now. I’m never going to get mad at you or treat you like a pain, okay?”.

A tiny smile spread on Dark Cacao Cookie’s face as he fully embraced regressing, he then buried his face into Pure Vanilla Cookie’s shoulder. Pure Vanilla Cookie chuckled and lovingly stroked the king’s jet black hair, “That’s my little one.” He said with pure joy and affection in his voice. For about an hour or two afterwards, the two would cuddle just like that; even when Pure Vanilla Cookie’s legs fell asleep, he didn’t have the heart to move or disturb his old friend. “Alright, buddy, how about I take you upstairs for a nap? I could even get your teether out.” Pure Vanilla Cookie offered, earning an immediate nod from Dark Cacao Cookie.

Although the trek up the stairs was rather difficult, the time they spent together was more than worth the tough journey. Sometimes even the strongest of Cookies have moments of weakness, of vulnerability, and that’s okay. Sometimes those moments of vulnerability lead to wonderful memories and the strengthening of bonds, all that’s needed is a little trust.

Yippee! I’m sorry this wasn’t super focused on the regression part of it, but I think focusing more on comfort was better for the story in general. That’s all, have a good one 🫶
