How To Organize A Great Playdate For Your Kid
Is your child requesting that you organize a fantastic playdate for all their friends? Are you confused about what a creative yet productive idea for the playdate can be? Just letting the children watch their favourite movie would not be a good idea. It just adds to their already high screen time. So you should think of something such as a date involving cardboard play toys. For instance, children can play while creating their cardboard playhouse. Let’s understand how you can organize a great playdate for the children.
Learn the interests of their friends
The first thing that you should do is understand what the interests of your child’s friends are. Some children may enjoy a cardboard plane, while others may like dinosaur costumes. So, getting to know their interests can help you plan perfectly.
Arrange some snacks to munch on
When children are working on their cardboard play toys, they will probably spend a few hours together. So, you should get enough snacks to keep them full throughout the play date. Make sure to get some healthy snacks, as it is a creative and healthy playdate.
Shop for different cardboard play toys
After you know the interests of the children, you can shop for cardboard play toys accordingly. On the right website, you can find various options, such as an astronaut play kit, cardboard costumes, or even a castle house. You can also get a Princess castle playset for the girls. This way, you will have something for everyone.
Let the children create and play together
Once the playdate starts, the children will be astonished by the cardboard play toys. So, all you need to do is let them have lots of fun while assembling their toys and playing together. They may want to work together on a single toy or may want to do something on their own. Let it be their choice. So, they can explore their creativity and enjoy it.
Celebrate and appreciate their work
Once they are done creating their cardboard play toys, you must appreciate the work that they have done. While assembling those toys may seem easy for adults, it is difficult for children, and they should be appreciated for it.

I found the plans for free, on Pinterest, for a fabulous DIY Gothic cat castle (they sell the plans on Etsy). It's made out of carboard, then you can cover it with carpet, cork, etc., if you like.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 128 (Aspirations and Life Lessons)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mood at the campsite the morning after Elsa Bjerg-Watson's death was strange. They were still in shock, and Conrad headed for his tools as soon as he woke up. He needed to channel this guilty feeling into finishing the upgrades on the treehouse, especially since no one else could do it.
But the imaginative young boys had turned the playhouse into a pirate ship overnight, which just made Conrad think about Rafa. He knew, thanks to Oliana and Leila, that Melissa had made her way to Sulani, but he hadn't heard from her or Rafa since.
Ash woke up smiling after spending the night in the treehouse. Officially a Creative Genius, his mind spun with a thousand ideas from the minute his eyes opened!
Tumblr media
River made breakfast while Conrad checked on Jett. "I'm okay, Mr. Gordon. My dad said death is just a part of life. I just have to be there for my friend Jada."
He was impressed with Jett's cool-headed nature, but the event was tough on Conrad and he kept a close eye on the kid. He knew Jett was Heather's biological son, but that made no difference. He was a kid who'd seen something traumatic, and Conrad knew how grief could change a person.
So did Jett's father, Everett, who'd lost his mother in a housefire as a child. The town priest kept a close eye on his son, too, but Jett surprised everyone with how quickly he seemed to accept death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cassandra called River after breakfast and broke the news of Bernadette's passing, encouraging them to stay with their friends. Michael was out for a bike ride around the ruins when she phoned, but when he learned of the death of the family dog on his return, he was heartbroken.
Having dealt with pet death a few times himself, Ash was the first to open up to his cousin. Despite their differences, Ash was maturing, and today Michael needed a good friend.
"Bernadette's in a good place now," he said, playing with one of Greyson and Jett Pancakes' Omiscan dolls, brought back from one of their mother Spencer's trips to Selvadorada. "Bernie was in a good place before, but this other place is just as good. My mom says so, and she's a vet so she definitely knows."
Tumblr media
"But Aunt Heather couldn't even help her," said Michael sadly.
"Sometimes animals are too old and too sick. Like people. But Bernadette remembers you just like you remember her, so you can think about each other all the time."
Ash's advice helped his grieving cousin, and later, River chatted with Conrad while he continued the upgrades and the boys ran off to play.
"Michael loves him again - says Ash has him convinced they could build a shovel large enough to dig to the other side of Simlandia. It's a good thing he has you, or he might turn out like Malcolm."
Conrad laughed. "Malcolm's not so bad. In my line of work, I've met worse."
Tumblr media
"Like George Brindleton? You said his son hated his guts, right?" Conrad nodded. "That's a pretty good life goal: Raise your kids so they don't live in an abandoned lighthouse or go to prison just to get away from you."
"I don't think you've got anything to worry about, Riv. Michael and Sammy got the best."
"Mike told me once he wished I had a cool badge like you instead of a yellow hard hat," he said with a laugh. "Broke my heart."
"You love that hard hat."
"It makes me look taller."
Tumblr media
As the upgrades slowly neared completion, they cut their conversation short when Greyson joined to direct Conrad's hammering. "Is that how you're supposed to install the lights? Where's the socket go in the middle of the forest?"
The sun had set by the time Conrad finally hooked up the fairy lights, but with this they called it a day. The community treehouse was complete, and the boys made up some cardboard decorations to change the pirate ship into a castle - more befitting of a town like Henford-on-Bagley with all its medieval ruins. They'd sleep in the treehouse or their tents for one more night, and in the morning they'd all return home.
Ash would be picked up by Ray Pierce and taken to San Myshuno for an extended Easter Break with the Landgraabs, but before then, Conrad finally found a way to talk with him about Ben and his dog.
Tumblr media
"You were really good with your cousin today, and you were really nice to Jett after what he saw last night. I'm proud of you."
Ash smiled. "Thanks Conrad. But I was telling them the truth. Death isn't so scary, and ambrosia brings anyone back who doesn't want to be dead!"
"Ambrosia shouldn't be used that often. It's really difficult to make for a reason."
"Why did you and Mom learn to make it, then?"
Tumblr media
"The ghosts who do want it are few and far between, but those who need it usually need help, so your mom and I decided to help ghosts like Felix together."
"Are you helping any other ghosts?"
He spoke carefully. "We are. We're going to help Ben and his dog."
Ash stared at him, wide-eyed. "I thought Ben might be a ghost! But his dog doesn't seem like one. I couldn't see through them like Felix Psyded. And Captain Whitaker let me pet him."
"Captain Whitaker wasn't see-though?"
"No, and his fur was wet because it was so snowy! Was he see-through when you saw him?"
Conrad nodded. "Why did you think Ben was a ghost?"
Tumblr media
"He was surprised I could see him. But you've seen him, so it's not that weird, right?"
"Ben said I can see him because he's a great uncle or something, several generations back." But Ash wasn't related to Ben...
The young genius thought carefully, his mind undisturbed by these ghostly revelations in a way Conrad scarcely understood. "When I was really young, I had a bad accident," he said. "I don't remember it, but Nan (Nancy) said I died before doctors and the Watcher brought me back..."
Conrad's stomach dropped remembering that awful day, Heather's guilt-ridden hysteria, and her belief that a curse had come for her son. "That's not a bad theory," he reasoned, and Ash smiled proudly. "I'll ask Felix what he thinks. You're really okay with all this? Elsa's death? Bernadette? Seeing ghosts?"
Tumblr media
He shrugged. "If the ghosts I see look like Ben and Captain Whitaker, I don't even know they're ghosts. Just sims who need help, right? How are you helping Ben and his dog?"
"Ben says he wants us to give ambrosia treats to Captain Whitaker and adopt him so he can finally cross over."
"Is crossing over for ghosts who don't want to float around anymore?"
Conrad nodded. "It is."
"I think it's a good idea to adopt Captain Whitaker! Mom loves strays; why haven't we adopted him already?"
Conrad laughed. "We've been a little busy, and now that your Aunt Hazel lives with us, the house is pretty full!"
Tumblr media
"Yeah, but...it's rude to make Ben wait to cross over!"
He couldn't argue Ash's logic and smiled. "Tell you what. After you get back from spending Easter with the Landgraabs, we'll go out to Deadgrass Isle together and bring Captain Whitaker home."
"Yeah! Let's do it!"
Despite the theme of death running through their weekend in Isle of Volpe Park, they had a community treehouse, improved friendships, and life lessons to show for the experience.
Tumblr media
In the grand scheme of things, the weekend project was a smashing success! ->

Cause I don't appreciate myself a lot, I'm going to list things I like about myself after seeing two people do it and I was like "heck, why not I join in?" @insufferablewhore ← Her idea that I'm stealing ^^
1. MY HAIR, it's so fucking gorgeous and fluffy. (Brunette, Long hair, Curtain Bangs) I love to just twirl a small part of my hair in my fingers.
2. My Creativity, like I randomly decided to make a mushroom hat out of cardboard & fabric one day. My creativity has no bounds, from writing to painting/doodling to crafts to sewing.
3. My Eyes, they are green with a dark blue outline and in certain lighting they can look blue. That's fucking sick, color changing eyes 👀
4. My ability to climb things like a steep hill, a tree, playhouse, countertops. I'm like monkey 🐒
5. My sense in style, I know how to pare clothes together with accessories and rock it. Like I'm gonna be looking like a runway model.
Some honorable mentions:
- My music taste, it's a wide variety of multiple different genres.
- Staying kind and sweet even after all of the shit I been through.

My notes for future pack ideas are so messy lol
Example of the idea I had based on a Bare Naked Ladies song that makes me think of my childhood-
"Light Up My Room Childhood Set -Cardboard Box Playhouse -Braces- 'radio station that plays in our teeth'- maybe brace accessory??? -tires on fire firepit lol -some cute little rascals esque messy clothing -LIGHTS. FOR. EVERYTHING."
And this is one of the more coherent notes.

Chapter 1
The mattress cradled my sleeping form. The cold air of my new empty room battled to beat the fortress of blankets and quilts that weighed down on me like a cocoon. My heavy eyes blinked awake, and I was bitterly reminded that I was no longer home. Everything was new; this state, this house, my room. The floors, the walls, the ceilings, even the smell. Nothing was familiar, nothing was comfortable. Numerous boxes crowded the empty space of the fresh four walls before me, reminders of how my life could easily be packed away and shipped across the country just like everything else. These plain tan boxes were honestly an insult to my being. The colorful art, and clothes, and games, and pictures, and hobbies that made me who I am, all trapped within identical boxes of cardboard lingering with the smell of mildew from the ever present humidity of Maine.
Maine. Even the thought of telling someone “I live in Maine” was a stranger to me. No, I’m not from Maine, no I don’t live in Maine. All things I wished I could say, all things that were false.
The trip from California had been a pretty smoothe one, minus the traffic and the cramped hours and the frustrated tears of constant bickering from my parents. It could have been worse.
I had spent my entire life, all 16 years, in California. I loved the sun and the beach and never ending excitement. But everyone in my little three person family would agree, we couldn’t stay there forever. The noise, the people, the bullying. It was all too much. I suppose my family moved for my sake. Thought it would be a fresh start, a chance to reinvent myself, find my footing. But like so many others, change was totally not my thing.
I love my parents, I really do, but I don’t think they understand that moving to the middle of a forest is NOT the move for someone who constantly imagines people that aren’t there and freaks when left alone for too long.
The visions started when I was 11. Small things like hearing my name called when I was alone in the house, seeing a passing shadow in the corner of my room at night. All things that could be chalked up to the imagination of an only child and unmonitored access to the internet. But as I got older, they never stopped, only matured. The voices became louder, the shadows took forms. Suddenly I was being followed everywhere I went, watched from every corner.
Though no two visions are ever identical, one element has remained the same, there has always been a man, or more or less, a large figure. Even in my earliest memories I recall a tall and looming presence, no, not threatening, just…present. My first memory of him (or it) was when I was five. We had this little pastel playhouse, just a simple four-wall, plastic thing that I decorated with various princess and monster truck stickers. Inside was the tea party spot. I held countless spectacular tea parties with all of my dolls and plushies, and the occasional parent (though I quickly learned they were far more fun by myself). I was throwing one of my famous tea parties with my plush bunny, Lucy, my Ken Barbie, and my teddy bear, Charlie. We ate TownHouse buttery crackers and sipped lemonade in plastic tea cups until the sun went down. That was when I saw him, through the plastic window cut-out, right along the fence, within the trees. He blended in, seamlessly, I convinced myself there was an eyelash or something in my eye. After furiously rubbing my eyelids, blinking, and batting, and rolling my eye ball around, I sneaked a peek through a slitted eyelid, and there he continued to stand. A tall, black, blurry blob, staring. Or what I assume to be staring as he had no eyes…no nothing. He carried no distinct features, only a static outline. As quick as my little five year old legs could carry me, I dashed inside, tears brimming and brewing. When I delivered the news to my parents, they didn’t fear ghosts or interdimensional beings, they thought I had seen a real person, a real man. My mother secured me to her chest as my dad bolted outside, ready to swing on whoever was creeping on his little girl. Wielding the butter knife he had been using to cut strawberries and the flashlight from his phone, he marched across the yard, only to find no one. No man, no figure, no nothing. Only trees.
Pretty quickly the source of my tears switched from being the mysterious presence to having forgotten my dolls. How could I have forgotten them in such a moment of weakness? How could I have left them all alone in the dark playset with that creature? What kind of friend was I if I had run off to save myself and let them fend for themselves? Much to my pleasure and comfort, my dad retrieved the toys and brought them all back inside and any thought of the creature man quickly dissipated as my little five year old mind began to jump to other trains of thought. My parents let it go, not wanting to bring it up again, satisfied with me being in the house and safe. As I got older, I asked them about the occurrence frequently, having it set in my mind that what I saw was real. They fostered the belief that what I saw was just a trick of the light and a wild imagination, not wanting to poison my child brain with thoughts of scary monsters and figures .
I knew he was real when I was ten. I was on the swingset, just down the street from our little pale blue house. The playground was small, a yellow, red, and blue jungle gym with chipped paint and creaky rusted bolts, next to it one giant metal slide that became a frying pan in the summer under the California sun. The playground was surrounded by a weak and worsening chain link fence that I fail to believe was even close to being up to code. A smart and warry parent would quickly mark the place as a hazard, but as a kid, I couldn’t imagine a more perfect location.
The star of the playground was the swings. Two sets stood on opposite ends of the wood chip-filled square, one a shorter, more condensed version of the other. It held six swings, three pairs of two, sized down for the smaller kiddies and the babies. The other also held six swings but in one giant row. It reached higher than I had ever seen a swingset reach. You could swing so high it felt like you just touched the clouds. Two boys, brothers, who lived in the neighborhood swore they had been able to do a full 360 around the upper supporting bar. I believed them, I was ten.
My favorite thing to do was head out when my parents started dinner, swing till the streetlights came on, and then dash home like my life depended on it. One evening, as the sun began to sink her way down behind the hills, I found myself swinging and swooshing to my heart’s content. I swung higher than I ever had before. If I had made the choice to jump off, I was certain my arms would transform into wings and I could soar up up and away from our little street, high into the clouds, away from the Cali heat. I closed my eyes and imagined flipping and twirling and dashing through the fluffiest of clouds, each grey huddle of droplets grazing my face and kissing the hairs on my head. I was completely free, unrestrained from the chains of the swing or the ties of gravity.
A touch of nausea was coming over me as I vigorously swung back and forth and I re-opened my eyes, touching back down to earth, landing among my place in the universe. And there he stood. Again. Far away, outside the chain link fence, occupying the little break of empty space among the rows of trees. Watching. Waiting. For what? So I may walk towards him or so I may cease swinging and allow him to rush forwards towards me? My heart dislodged from its rightful spot in my ribcage and dropped straight down to my stomach. I thought I might throw up from how full it made me. Faster than I should, I dug my feet into the dirt and wood chips beneath me, sending splinters flying in every direction, logging pieces in my socks and skin. For a moment I stared back, part confused, part scared, part daring it, asking it, what are you going to do? When I blinked and he refused to move, I took that as my cue to haul ass back to the safety and warmth of my home.
I launched myself from the swings, ignoring the small stabbing pains of the wood chips in my shoes, more focused on the fact that in order to make it out of the playground I would have to run towards the only opening in the chain link fence, which unfortunately, was towards the creature. I was so scared. As I ran I felt a headache more painful than I have ever felt before, even to this day. Every twist and turn in the road, I refused to look back, to acknowledge his presence. I knew he was there, still watching. Always watching.
I sprinted and sprinted till I pretty much crashed into the front door nearly letting the scream escape my throat as I frantically searched the house for my mother in the kitchen. My vision was blurry with tears and panic, my head pounding like a jackhammer was being directly drilled right into my frontal lobe. Something wet came seeping down my nose towards my lips and nausea bubbled up inside of me. I thought I might just pass out then and there. As I came screeching to halt in the kitchen. I tried voicing for help but nothing came out, all I could manage was sobs and sharp breaths. My mother looked to me, wide-eyed and startled. I will never forget the look on her face as she stared, mouth a-jar, trembling she asked,
“Honey, why is your nose bleeding?”

Marjolein for the ask game perhaps 👀
First impression
I wanted to give her a hug :3 I immediately fell in love with her I mean how could I not?
Impression now
I LOVE HER i adore her so much. I’m glad she got more confident by the end :3 even if the circumstances that caused that sucked. And I really really love hellscape!marjolein. old lady Marjolein is everything to me
Favorite moment
I love her “I will survive you thing” so much!! Honestly all of red river is my favorite Marjolein moment lol. Also every time she curses at Sarah I think she should do that more. On the angstier side her telling Jill that she won’t leave her is just. AUGHHH 😭😭
Idea for a story
I want her and Han to go on a roadtrip together. Or perhaps a heist. I’m very curious as to what their dynamic would be and when I’m interested in character dynamics my first instinct is always “shove them in the plot-relevant version of a cardboard box” lol. So. Yeah :3
Unpopular opinion
I don’t think I have those about her?? Umm. Ok, opinion that is only unpopular because the vast majority of people are probably not actively thinking about it: she should have little cat ears I think. that’d be cute :3
Favorite relationship
It is SO difficult to choose between the other second playhouse members for this holy shit. So I won’t choose :] and just say Kurt because they also have a fascinating dynamic
Favorite headcanon
You have done something very dangerous (given me an opportunity to ramble about character designs) but in the interest of actually finishing this post: Chronic pain Marjolein is real TO ME. I just think it’s especially mean to stick someone who has chronic pain into a situation where she must RUN FOR HER FUCKING LIFE and also she’s the only one who can save other people’s lives but she has to RUN REALLY FAST. (Plus it adds extra angst to when she volunteers to be chased around by Sarah :3)

just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't so .
name :      florine clementine hart .      age :      thirty - two , born the 19th of december .      hometown :      rochester, new york .      length of time in kilmer :      seven months .      occupation :      unemployed but volunteers at the playhouse, sewing costumes .      traits :      beguiling, sentimental, superstitious, fanciful .      aspirations :      marriage, open up the same chocolate shop her mother had, to find what happened to her sister .      skills :      sewing, playing piano, making the best hot chocolate, tending to lupines .      pets :      a small calico stray called cleo became her housemate .
Tumblr media
a small town in upstate new york filled with an aroma of sweet chocolate, turning the noses of those who were fortunate enough to pass by the small chocolate shop; just off to the left on the street corner gowned in crimson awaiting the first person to ring the little bronze bell, but no one came. it might seem a strange way for florine to mark her first memory, stood by the staircase, aged four, with a doll dangled by the arm, eyeing an untouched golden plate of chocolates on the counter beside her mother's despaired countenance ... but not every first memory was reserved for a happy one .
the sweet scent has dulled now, the final nail on the closed sign and a new town and a new shop. the second memory comes at seven, tapping against ivory keys with her sister looking over her shoulder humming along to each note. florine won't hear the shouting this way, but she will hear the whispers so they stay up all night long, a old metal flashlight illuminating the space under the sheets where stories are told to keep away the noises. the guilt of one sister and fear of another .
pennsylvania feels like a side stop, not even six months before the chocolate shop is nailing the closed sign to the door again and florine has packed up her entire life in another cardboard box. the same on she had two years ago .
the fourth comes with the creaking of a house in maine at thirteen. this would have been florine's favorite. a small cottage overlooking the sea and covered in lupines but the shadows from the last do not follow and the new chocolate shop seems promising with locals pressing their noses against the glass the first morning. she's sad to leave here at seventeen, taking a fistful of lupine seeds she stuffs into her denim pocket .
georgia is the worst. it's hot and muggy and the chocolate melts in her hand before she can even take a bite of it. her sister moved away a month ago and now there is no one to keep those weird sounds away at night. the house creeks here too, but not the same way as it was in maine. the flowers aren't as pretty and people get annoyed when florine has her window open, playing whatever tune she can imagine on the piano. the neighbor isn't nice either, but his son is. handsome too, a little shy but quick on his feet to make a declaration .
scratch that, georgia got moved up on the worst list the day florine found herself sitting at a sewing table in michigan, unable to speak after the phone call of her mother's wailing like a banshee etched into her memory. dead. her sister, holly, was found dead at some seaside town in rhode island florine had only seen through a postcard in the mail with an ' i love you ' at the bottom in place of holly's name. kilmer's cove. holly's file was stamped crimson red with the words, cold case and slipping on a rock was the only closure they were allowed .
kilmer's cove was never supposed to be the grounds another hart family member would step foot on, though picturesque as the postcard she held in her grasp as the wheels of baby blue vintage triumph screeched to a stop. the georgia neighbor's son became a little more than just a smiling face to wave at with florine giddy she'd have a sparkling rock on her ring finger before their trip to kilmer's cove was over. a trip where his business ventures would lead them and maybe fate too. she took to the playhouse, hearing her sister's gush about it over the phone during late night calls when those creaking sounds became too loud. volunteering there for the past few months kept her occupied but every walk home she's passed by the boardwalk eyeing a ' for lease ' shop. florine always did find herself annoyed with the chocolate shop, the one her mother moved around so much it seemed like it should have wheels, but the boardwalk would be a great place for it .
Tumblr media
summary :      chocolate shops in small towns that could never stay open, arguing parents, her life in a box with crayon flowers scribbled on it, giggling with her sister at silly ghost stories told under sheets with a flashlight and ivory piano keys made up florine's childhood. every new town was ranked in a small pocket notebook kept in her purse, now in a shoebox under her bed and kilmer's cove was supposed to be the worst, but a town in michigan was. the day her sister died, a kilmer's resident who begged florine to visit but she never came. she did, eventually, with her boyfriend, a job prospect took them out to the town but it's fate, she believes to be the reason to stay. maybe to keep the hart family tradition of that silly chocolate shop, but maybe and hopefully to learn what happened to holly and why she loved it here so much .
Tumblr media
friends :      a friend group can get someone through the hardest of times, a smiling face much like the neighbor's son back in georgia, someone who she just always makes hot chocolate for .      believing is seeing :      either just as superstition as florine or they allow her to indulge .      they knew her sister :      holly hart, she was about as charismatic as the name she was given, but what happened to her in kilmer's cove remains a cold case, so does someone remember more than the file ?      playhouse :      anyone who works at playhouse, florine took to volunteering there with her sewing skills .      encouragement :      they think the chocolate shop is the best idea since the town's ice cream parlor, nudging florine along to take a chance .      the other woman :      corpse bride was a little dash of inspo for florine, which means her boyfriend isn't entirely without fault, this would be the one he has a wandering eye for .      the boyfriend :      he's the reason florine even agreed to come to kilmer's cove, though devastated that last dinner by the water hadn't ended with a ring on her finger .

The Smiling Critters Theory Part 1 (HoppyHop Scotch, PickyPiggy, Bubbaphant, beary bearhug)
This is a continuation from the last post. I wanna discuss the smiling critters and what I think what happened to them.
If you aren't aware, in Poppy playtime Chapter 3. A line of characters was introduced as the smiling critters. Their names are Bubba Bubbaphant, KickinChicken, Beary BearHug, PickyPiggy, HoppyHop Scotch, DogDay and Catnap. Not only we're they sold as toys with each of their signature scent. They were also given their very own tv show. However, parents start to express their concern about the catnap plushie because while making the toys instead of the lavender scent that catnap was supposed to have, instead, he was given a poppy scent That even the bigger body catnap has to make the kids go to sleep. Parents express their concerns because their kids kept having hallucigenic nightmares. We even hear this when a woman named Clare Harper talks about how one of the orphans, Marie, had a nightmare involving a colourless monster.
Just like how many of the toys were made by playtime Co. Each of them ended up being part of the bigger bodies initiative. We saw Catnap in that form as well as dogday, so it would be that far-fetched that the other smiling critters were bigger bodies as well. But the question is what happened to them since DogDay says that he is the last of the smiling critters.
We need to talk about where we found DogDay. After managing to get power back on for the school area. We manage to find ourselves in the playhouse. Ollie appears to not like the playhouse, and when we get there, we know why. While the other places have destroyed with blood stains all over. The playhouse looks unsettling, especially when we meet DogDay. He is chained to, but also, he's in a prison cell. The first time we saw the prison cells was a surveillance camera in project playtime. While finding DogDay, we do see some sort of underground lare, which is where catnap used to be in. This is where they kept the bigger bodies of the smiling critters.
Now, let's talk about what happened to each of them. During the playthrough, you come across a cardboard cutout of one of the smiling critters. It starts with them introducing themselves, and we get to know a little about their personality, but things take a dark turn where they say things that are unsettling. While cardboard cutouts have been there since the beginning that never really introduced themselves. Huggy Wuggy expresses the importance of hugs, CatBee makes bee puns, and Bunzo Bunny talks about birthdays.
The reason why this is important is because if you listen to their cardboard cutouts, you'll notice that it sounds like they are at the brink of insanity. Since CatNap was already devoted to the prototype since the prototype saved his life. He is pretty much aware that there is a plan since he tells Lieth Pierre about the prototype saving them. If you look at the promotion of the smiling critters. The other smiling critters express emotions even if they have grinning faces except for Catnap, which still keeps the same emotion. CatNap's personality revealed that he has a calming presence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Catnap does worship the prototype because of what he did for him. CatNap accepts the influence that the prototype has on him. Meanwhile, DogDay says that him and the other tried to resist the control of the prototype and how if someone disagrees with the prototype, Catnap eliminates them. The other smiling critters are trying to keep their personality intact, but because they are trying to resist the control of the prototype, their sanity becomes a problem.
The cut-outs even give us in-depth what happened to the smiling critters, and we may even figure out what happened afterwards. We'll start with hoppy hopscotch. She introduces herself and asks if we want to go jump on to the moon. This is basically a generic cartoon way since HoppyHop Scotch is described as being energetic and wants to go on adventures. However, the more we hear, the more it sounds like she is determined to jump on the moon. She's also appears frustrated with the player for supposedly messing it up and that looking at feet doesn't matter. When she does jump, you hear the sound of falling. Since we know that they were trying to resist the control of the prototype, it is likely that hoppyhop Scotch couldn't deal with it and she really want to go the moon so she unalive herself for the process.
Next up is PickyPiggy. Hers is interesting because It tells us what happened to 3 of the smiling critters but not hers. It is heavily implied that KickinChicken, Bubba Bubbaphant, and CraftyCorn were eaten by PickyPiggy herself. However, I see them as an offering by catnap since its a knowledge that pigs eat everything that they see as food. PickyPiggy talks about how she's still hungry despite eating an elephant. It is likely that picky piggy died of starvation because if she was eating her friends in front of her friends, they probably saw it as a punishment if they tried to escape.
Bobby BearHug is next on. We are going to look into it. Bobby BearHug is the compassionate of the smiling critters where she appears to care a lot about her friends. In her cardboard cut-out, it appears that she has abandonment issues where she asks the player if they are going to leave her. This is leaning towards that Bobby BearHug died of a broken heart. It is like that when some of the smiling critters tried to escape, which led to their deaths, they abandoned Bobby bearhug. While yes, it sounds absurd that a toy can die in such a way, but these toys have organs where they can eat, breathe, and even die. So, I don't think it would be out of the ordinary that a toy like Bobby bearhug who is known for her compassion but also trying to break free of the prototype's control would end up dying of a broken-heart.
Bubba Bubbaphant was the first cardboard cutout we saw in the game, and because of this, it is likely that he was the first to die. Bubba Bubbaphant's cardboard cutout doesn't act weird until the end when he is screaming. He expresses that he remembers the player, which could be because we know the main protagonist used to work here while also stating that elephants always remember. If you listen closely to his screams, it sounds like he's also laughing at the same time. The only time he's done this is when him and the smiling critters are given the red smoke at CatNap in that episode.
While Bubbaphant is laughing and screaming, it sounds like he's saying, "Grandma." I looked up, and grandmothers take the role as the matriarch of the elephant and make sure that the baby elephants grow into adulthood and that the mama elephant gets the support she needs. It's so interesting because it appears as though Bubba Bubbaphant was given the knowledge as an elephant itself. Since the red smoke is known for the person showing hallucinations. It is likely that when Bubba Bubbaphant got the red smoke, he may have been hallucinating an elderly female elephant, which was probably catnap in disguised, who ended up killing him and offered him to PickyPiggy.

Other Indigo Park Observations. done in semi-real time as im playing?
Tumblr media
a fun little detail is these cameras that follow your movement; its pretty heavily implied this is how Rambley is seeing the player.
Tumblr media
these keychains in the Critter Corner are the only place you'll see merch of Salem (i think that is their name?) Interestingly, there aren't any keychains of Rambley left. also this is a small non-important texturing thing but Molly's uses the same texture as her cutout (I assume they all do) which causes it to have the same wear and tear on it. and the same cardboard texturing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also ive been to a disney park so i can appreciate the format of the entrance mirroring that.
some of the boxes backstage have Indigo Park branding on them and i think thats a fun cute little detail.
Tumblr media
also Lloyd has a bronze statue like Rambley's statue with the park owner. interesting.
Tumblr media
no screenshot to go with this but i do think its kind of a missed opportunity that Molly doesn't stalk you in the outside 'main street' area at all. she's a bird, have her perched up on one of the buildings! an ominous silhouette, with only the light reflecting off her eyes to tell you she's there. watching. idk.
Also I gotta give the game credit for how annoyingly good they did at stopping me from Hardcore-Parkouring around in places im not supposed to.
Tumblr media
i will also thank this game for letting me brute force the puzzle and not having any kind of 'check' for if i actually have gone through the playhouse.
I also wanna say! this game is pretty spooky! i will say i AM a little baby coward, so that helps, but i got tense going through the backstage and playhouse even though i KNOW that there's not an actual threat in either; the sound design is spooky and my brain kept wondering, 'but what if?' so thats very solid. with that said wish me luck on the ACTUAL chase lmao.
Ah. real time update. my game lagged out hard during the start of the chase and I promptly died (which was also pretty lagged out). given that and that my computer's actually starting to run a little hot, I suppose i will save that for a later time. now that the real-time stuff is over its time forrrrr:
Boxes Nitpick compilation!!
dont take this too seriously its basically just me pointing out things i think are a little weird looking but this isn't any real deep criticism of the game. a normal player wouldnt notice this stuff most of the time i only notice this stuff because im actively looking for it:
Tumblr media
There's a few places like this where the 'tiling' is super obvious as one texture just cuts off into another one. nothing that serious but its super jarring here in my opinion. There's also a few places like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
where the floor tiles don't align right (first image) and you can see through them. its a minor thing that really only appears in areas the player won't see unless they're looking around though. there's also a few little clipping errors (second image)
Tumblr media
also the dirt texture here works way better than the grass texture used in the beginning area (see first screenshot in nitpick compilation) and they should probably use this instead of that. imo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think the trash scattered around the park doesn't really.... work? Rambley makes it apparent no one's been INSIDE the park in years, thats why there's only graffiti on the otuside, so this isn't trash from people breaking in, and from how Rambley described the shut down, it shouldn't just be... scattered lying around like this. Like i said, its nitpicky, but I just don't think this works.
I think Indigo park should be 'clean' but falling apart. There's no real reason for trash to be scattered about in the WAY that it is. papers and food wrappers and drinks, yeah, sure. but the actual trashbags and boxes?? aren't doing it for me. it inherently implies that there was stuff being moved around and then it got interupted, which doesn't really align with how Rambley described the shutdown.
Tumblr media
The Railroad ride is just surrounded by solid black texture squares that don't reflect light. I understand WHY they did this, but i think its kind of a missed opportunity to have catwalks and such visible up above. Of course, they didnt do that because this is an indie project without a big budget, so i dont fault them for that, but its something I think would've been neat nonetheless.
Tumblr media
they could make the invisible wall that stops you from going back on the train less. Obvious. by just putting a gate here. ive been to disney a lot of rides have that you can just put a little walk through gate.
and lastly, this isnt a nitpick but there's a really tiny Lloyd cutout near the beginning of the backstage area for some reason and i dont know what to do with this knowledge. its not a keychain those are bigger.
Tumblr media
anyway. solid lil game, fun lil atmosphere, excited to see where it goes.

FINALLY. someone else who thinks 302 is boring as hell. i only ever see people talk about liking it like the majority of it isnt 2 different segments of 3 Rooms With One Music Track Looped For 45 Minutes (Or More)! that being said i love the concept and the astral projection framing device and i love that the remaster is giving maximus his stupid little newsboy hat. and of course there is the ending leading into 303 😁
ITS NOT JUST ME!!!!! oh my god ive never seen people talk about it at All i didnt even know if people liked it or not. People Like It? it’s like………. it’s All Setup. it has very little going for it on its own its just setup for the rest of the game. i’ve always wondered if it’s more fun to Play than to Watch, when you’re actually trying to Solve The Puzzles, but i do doubt it. it’s just. eh. eh. “the devil’s playhouse is such a great game one of my favorites” i say and then i consider one of its episodes an exhausting nightmare. the rest of the game is good but they did not do a very good job with that one i think. they flopped a little
BUT GOD. IVE ONLY HAD MAXIMUS WITH HIS HAT FOR 1 STILL IMAGE AND ALREADY SEEING HIM HATLESS IN THE ORIGINAL GAME JUST LOOKS SO WRONG. I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT FOR THE REMASTER AND HIS SILLY LITTLE NEWSBOY CAP!!!!!!!! THERE IS A GOOD AND JUST GOD (MAXIMUS HAT RESTORED)
this is only tangentially related but that just reminds me how excited i am to see any other changes/additions like that in the s3 remaster…. the Graphics/Lighting/Modeling/Animations updates are nice but s3 doesn’t need them as much as the first 2 did. it does extremely look like it was made in 2010, and it’s not as nice looking as the remasters, but visually it does totally still hold up, it’s Got good lighting and camerawork, no one’s opening this game and thinking “man this looks like shitty wet cardboard”. (and i’m Always going to be frustrated by the remaster having less Grit and Realistic Textures and being more smooth and vivid and cartoony. but it was a little jarring going straight from s2 to s3 and suddenly the buildings look like this game was made in gmod.) uhh i lost track of what i was saying. Oh right well anyway. aside from the Graphics Updates the other thing really fun about the remasters is all the stuff like… like giving maximus his hat from the concept art. like widening the hole into flint paper’s office and angling the camera through it. updating the Christmas Future scenery in 201 to be consistent with how they actually model that scene in the last episode. Doing all these things that they wanted to do the first time around but couldn’t because of technical limitations and now they can! So I wanna see what other things like that they might do in the tdp remaster……. this could’ve been its own post but i already got this far.
anyway hell yes for 302 having a really cool framing device and really cool ending 👍👍👍👍👍👍 hell no for how its so boring i would rather be looking at pretty much anything else 👎👎👎👎👎👎 and another hell yes for maxs dead grandpas gay little hat 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Pee-wee Meets Hoops and Yoyo (Crossover Fanfic)
Tumblr media
Title: Pee-wee Meets Hoops and Yoyo
Fandoms: Pee-wee's Playhouse, Hoops and Yoyo
Word count: 399
Warning(s): None :)
Summary: Hoops and Yoyo spend a day at Pee-wee’s playhouse.
Author’s Note: Ever since I saw Hoops and Yoyo Ruin Christmas (aka the BEST Hallmark Christmas movie ever made!), I had this in mind that I just couldn't wait to share! And yes, like my other Pee-wee fanfics, this one is dedicated to Paul Reubens (May he rest in peace 💔)
Also, this is the first time I wrote a fanfic that's not an X reader/OC one.
(Yes, I made the picture above)
***
"Good morning, Conky!" Pee-wee cheered as he was getting excited for what was going to happen today. "Do you know what's today's secret word?"
Conky printed out a piece of paper with the secret word on it. "Today's secret word is... Happy!" Pee-wee exclaimed. "And you know what to do when anyone says the secret word, right? Scream real loud!"
He gestured to Chairry, asking her, "Say, Chairry, how are you feeling right now?"
"Well, Pee-wee," Chairry replied, "I'm feeling quite happy."
"AAAAAHH!!!" Everyone in the Playhouse screamed, with Chairry giggling.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Pee-wee answered it to find a pair of anthropomorphic animals, one a pink cat, the other a green bunny.
"OHMIGOSH!" Hoops, the pink cat, cheered. "I can't believe it, Yoyo! We're meeting the Pee-wee Herman!"
"Heck yes!" Yoyo agreed. "Oh, Pee-wee, it's such an honor to meet you! Hoops and I can't help but feel happy!"
"AAAAAH!" Everyone in the Playhouse screamed, much to Hoops and Yoyo's laughter.
"Let me guess," Hoops commented. "We said the secret word, right?"
"Indeed, you did," Pee-wee nodded.
For snack time, Pee-wee asked what Hoops and Yoyo's favorite foods were, to which they both replied "Donuts!"
"Well, today's your lucky day, 'cuz guess what I have in the fridge?" Pee-wee opened the refrigerator door to briefly view the fruits and vegetables performing a circus act, just as he grabbed a pink cardboard box from it and opened it to reveal a variety of delicious donuts.
"Yay!" Hoops and Yoyo simultaneously cheered as they each grabbed a donut from the box and took a bite out of it. "Thanks, Pee-wee!"
Throughout the day, Hoops and Yoyo spent it having a lot of fun with Pee-wee. They watched the cartoon that the King of Cartoons presented, they each took turns sitting on Chairry, and they learned to make pizza, which they all enjoyed. Just as the day was about to come to an end, Pee-wee grabbed his scooter and helmet, saying "Wanna join me?"
"Sure!" Hoops and Yoyo accepted before getting onto the scooter.
"Today was sure a lot of fun," Hoops commented about how today marked one of their best days ever.
"And remember to bring on the happy!" Yoyo said before everyone in the Playhouse screamed.
"Good one, Yoyo!" Hoops exclaimed.
Eventually, Pee-wee took off on his scooter, with Hoops and Yoyo riding along.

I had a cute lil cottage one and it was placed on a wooden platform my dad built. I quickly outgrew it as I got too tall and, it also got filled with spiders, which I was terrified of. Over the years the squirrels would start using it to store their acorns (the squirrels in my area are particularly crafty) and eventually a hive of yellow jackets moved in.
When I turned 10, my dad finally decided that winter he would get the wasps out and sell the playhouse. He confidently told me that the wasps would be sleeping and I had nothing to worry about. He needed my help to push over the playhouse, which he would then quickly spray with the hose to get the hive out. My brothers were playing in a giant cardboard box they had turned into a clubhouse (no girls allowed so I couldn't go in) on the porch. They watched as my dad and I pushed over the clubhouse and my dad grabbed the hose and started spraying.
A huge swarm of yellow jackets descended upon us. I bolted down the hill towards the house, hoping to take shelter in my brother's cardboard box. They closed the flaps and refused to open them. I got stung on top of my head and ran inside crying to my mom who couldn't believe we'd done something so stupid. My dad ended up getting stung all over as he couldn't move as fast as younger me.
He eventually was able to get rid of the wasps and sold the playhouse, but the big wooden platform remains, rotting in the small patch of woods on the hill.
I am definitely my father's kid.
u don’t touch this bitch for one (1) day and the spiders start living lavish

Obscure Animation Subject #193: Julius Jr.
Developed by Holly Huckins (who wrote the 101 Dalmatians episode Four Stories Up) and Katherine Sandford, this is an animated preschool series based on the characters of the Paul Frank brand. A collaboration between American company Saban Brands and Canadian company Brain Power Studio, it was directed by Paul Brown (of PAW Patrol fame) and Chris Labonte, and aired on the Nick Jr. Channel in the United States from September 29, 2013 to August 9, 2015. It never reached Canada until Family Jr. started airing it on May 12, 2015.
The series revolves around Julius, a young sock monkey inventor who built a playhouse out of a cardboard box with his friends Clancy the giraffe, Worry Bear, Sheree the raccoon and Ping the panda. To their surprise, the objects come to life in their playhouse and go on day to day adventures, with the problems they face, and the steps they take to resolve it.
Musical numbers are also featured at the end of each episode, which highlights the events of the episodes.
Their also the Hall of Doors inside the playhouse, leading the cast to the following places:
* Icelaska - A parody of Alaska and Iceland.
* Bugswana - A parody of Botswana.
* Seashelly Islands - Named after seashells.
* Twirl-a-World - A parody of Twirl-a-Whirl.
* Castledonia - Named after castles.
* Sagebrush Farm - Named after the sagebrush plants.
* Enginopolis - Named after engines.
* The Invention Dimension - As the name implies, it is where Julius creates all of his various inventions, though in most episodes it is only shown from the outside.
The series had a total of 52 half-hour episodes across two seasons, each episode containing two 11-minute segments.
The series did not do well in ratings as it aired on a bad timeslot when school children were at home having the day off, which is Sundays at 11 AM, and the fact that less people have the Nick Jr. Channel, which made the show hard to come across. Since then, it had fallen under obscurity when it finished airing. It has popped up on various streaming services and the complete series has since been archived on sites like YouTube, but really I don’t blame anyone that it isn’t successful.
This show is really your average preschool show, with okay animation, decent voice-acting, good songs and likable characters, but there isn’t anything special about it. I remember watching the show a few times on the Nick Jr. Channel but like I said, there isn’t anything memorable as it’s just meh.
Maybe give it a watch if you wanna distract your kids but otherwise you’re not missing much.
