So, I finished reading Spectacular. And, I read the 2 bonus epilogues that both of them hint at very different stories. The first one in the Barnes& Nobel's edition, explains a holiday celebrated in the magnificent north. So maybe the next book in this universe will be about eva and jacks ? But, what really surprised me is that legend is the one that created it. And, we get the hint that maybe tella and him will go to the magnificent north to celebrate it. So, I guess we can hope for a story combining both ?

As for the second epilogue, Julian proposed to legend that the next caraval happened at his wedding with Scarlett as a gift. And, I would do anything to get that book in my hands. A caraval wedding is going to be great. But, again legend hinted to the baby dragons in the magnificent north, saying that he wants to get some for this caraval.

It's safe to say that the next story in this universe will be in the magnificent north. But, I strongly hope for one with jacks and eva and I don't mind the addition of tella and legend. But, please let's not have a whole story focused on tella.

My simple review on "Caraval" by Stephanie Garber. I feel as though this was overhyped due to BookTok. I will read the rest of the series just to finish it, but I also know that OUABH was part of this universe, so I'm hoping I'll still enjoy it.

(For the first question-- I personally don't think personal interpretations are more valid than others or anything, but sometimes I think there could be "extraness" in certain depictions/opinions. I do this too, I bet, so no biggie.)

Donatella Dragna. Now, I prefer Scarlett, and there were certain parts where I didn't agree with or understand Tella at first, but I don't think she never loved her sister. Did she always love her in what we would consider a more mature way, so to speak? Maybe not. But she brought Scarlett to Caraval and even died fir her for a bit because she loved her and wanted them both to escape their abusive father. She wanted to save her from a bad marriage-- remember what she saw in the Aracle! Also, remember how Tella's mom left her. I'm sure that coupled with the abuse traumatized her. It's not Tella's fault either that Garber seems to prefer her and Legend over Scarlett and Julian. It doesn't necessarily make her a bad character. I really enjoyed her pov and how radically different than Scarletf she was. And yes, could she be imperfect? Yes! She was a very human character lmao. So where I think people get it wrong is believing Tella never really loved Scarlett that much which is just false on its face. And by the way with the whole Jacks thing, I don't see why she had to love him at all especially with what he did to her.

Rhian One. Now because of Soman's kinda rushed writing here I can see why people reduce him to sore loser. So not really a reading issue on others' parts. But I don't think he was supposed to be that way and NO Rafal was not supposed to be in the right at the very end. He was still pretty much selfish and insensitive and again, LOVE was abandoned in favor of power. Rafal constantly had this "I wanna forgive Rhian and go back to the way things were" but when has he made an effort let's be fr. Again, not saying Rafal never tried at all or never loved Rhian but it was not consistent. Rhian deals with obvious insecurities and let's face it-- Rafal is always the shining star. People hate him, adore him, admire him and dream about him. He is their god and savior or their demon. Rhian gets treated like a joke the second someone new or stronger is in the picture. And I think that's how siblings often are in real life. Envy and resentment can break up the relationship as they grow older. Rafal never really valued Rhian’s emotions, infantilized him, and acted more like a parent than a brother without him really needing to. So again not saying Rafal deserved being killed but reducing Rhian to "he bad and Rafal is an angel" misses the whole point of their characters and relationships.

(Also minor opinion: I don't think anyone can really claim TLEA Rafal was meant to be original Rafal or not. We don't really know. Idk just something that irks me, especially knowing what Soman has said in the past about naming Rafal after someone he saw for an event or whatever. I personally feel like he had bits and pieces of twin lore in his head and they were "School Masters" and he just pieced it together after he got the prequels idea. But again, I really don't know. So again I don't really care for how people feel so definitively about this when we are not in the man's mind. What bothered me about was just lack of buildup and care to make the plot twists work or the characters shine and feel true tbh rather than TLEA Rafal not being Rafal and this is also a consistent Soman trait)

Celie Tremblay, Scarlett Dragna, and pretty much any soft/traditionally feminine/maternal female characters. Or traumatized women. And oh, Rafal, Jacks, and any morally gray or villainous sexy white angry/violent fictional man. Do I really need to explain myself on this one.

Worst part of canon? Midas dying in Fall and great potential in plot and characters that was not fully met. Esteban Trueba's existence in "The House of the Spirits." Scarlett and Tella's mom dying so quickly. Main series Rafal being the twins' dad and a deadbeat one at that. With Evelyn who for whatever reason decided to birth these children regardless of how he treated her. (Not really their fault though but still. Wasn't Evelyn supposed to be feminist or something.) Cause contraceptive magic or herbs in a fantasy world apparently doesn't exist or maybe they do and an immortal school master lacks brains to make use of them. And knowing this is actually RHIAN ONE makes it better and worse at the same time.

Worst parts of fanon are just basically the weird shipping like incest (saw one with the twins) or very NSFW freaky kinky stuff with characters. Any fan that acts like their word is over anyone else’s or the author's and starts ridiculous fights. And fans who rant without actually reading the story or the racist/misogynistic ones that hate a character and oddly prefer a white character to be with their blorbo. Not saying it's wrong to prefer different ships or characters but hostile energy is there and it's a pattern. OH and white-washed fanart or edits! I HATE that. Did you read the books mf??

What happens beyond this gate may frighten you or excite you, but don't let any of it trick you. We will try to convince you it is real, but all of it is a performance. A world built of make-believe. So while we want you to get swept away, be careful of being swept too far away. Dreams that come true can be beautiful, but they can also turn into nightmares when people won't wake up.

The rules of this years game are as follows:

You will be directed to different blogs that all have specific posts for you to find if you are smart enough to do so. (The blogs urls will be given)

At the very end you will be awarded for your efforts.

To find your way around, we have provided you with clues along the way. This was so hyped up, Booktook, Pinterest, Instagram... it wouldn't leave me alone. So I bought it. Premise is a ten out of ten. Though I must admit I think it would've been a bit better without the romantic subplot... just an adventure novel. And the side story about Tella and Scarlet's mum went straight over my head at some points... but the mystery and intrigue of the games did work wonders and even had me confused in places where the characters were confused, like I was there with them.

I have several WIPS right now, so this could be interesting.

Caraval- A Hannibal (NBC) sort of crossover/rewrite of the book Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It's also omega verse, with Will being an omega, Hannibal an alpha, and so on for the various characters who appear. Will must play a magical game that plays tricks on the mind and involves magic to find his sister (Abigail) over the course of five nights, searching for clues so he can find her before the other players and win. Hannibal, who initially brings them to the island where Master Legend hosts Caraval, teams up with him. As they play, Will realizes the game is far darker than it appears and that it is a race against the clock to find Abigail, because it is far more than a game.

2. For Remembrance- A post-fall Murder Husbands story for my collection, Words Are Not The Only Way, centering on my chosen flower (rosemary) and its meaning. Won't say too much, but there is amnesia and rosemary plays a part in trying to help the amnesiac person recover their memories.

3. All Night or a Hundred Years- A Fantastic Beasts story from the POV of Percival Graves, who has been locked up in the dungeons of Nurmengard for a long time. Leta, rather than dying, is secreted away by Grindelwald in the dungeon as well, and she is helping Percival remember what it is like to be human and giving him something he hasn't had in a long time: Hope. They are getting to know each other and trying to figure out if they can escape, and how. Percival is close to giving up, but Leta won't take it. This one is on hiatus, however, because writer's block is a bitch.

4. Untangled- A Fantastic Beasts version of the Disney movie Tangled, with Newt as Rapunzel, Tina as Flynn, Grindelwald as Mother Gothel, and Theseus as Maximus, along with a bunch of the other FB crew members taking roles. Currently paused in favor of Caraval. Things are switched up in this, because Tina has the case of beasts instead of Newt. It's cheerful and fun and I sort of don't want to finish it because of that, so I'm being slow.

5. The Third Day- A Hannibal (NBC) rewrite of the HBO show The Third Day. Will is getting divorced from Molly and is grieving Abigail, who died under mysterious circumstances several years earlier. He meets Mischa in the woods, where is trying to hang herself, and takes her back to the place she lives, where he becomes trapped for three days and nights. Hannibal, Alana, Jack, Bella, Margot, Mason, and several other characters star as the residents trying to either run Will off the island or keep him there as he uncovers mysteries tied to himself and Abigail's death, as well as all the weirdness on the island.

7. Beloved- This is being scrapped and will be rewritten as a sequel to another story, His Shadow Suspended On Dust. Initially, it was a thirty-years post-fall story about Hannibal getting sick and Will taking care of him and living through his last days with him. Some of the original will remain, but it will be heavily rewritten, and there will be another story, called When the Snake Slithers By, between it and HSSOD.

8. The Lone City- A Pokemon anime rewrite of a favorite book of mine, called The Jewel by Amy Ewing. Starring Mairin, it centered on girls being sold off into surrogate slavery for the ruling class of the island, who became so inbred they can no longer safely carry their own children. Sort of a magical Handmaid's Tale, but with Pokemon twists. It was going to lead to Mairin uncovering the truth, falling in love with Alain, and escaping and so forth, but it's been on hiatus due to computer trouble, and I don't think I'm ever going to actually go back to it since it 's been more than a year.

9. Han+SPN- Temporary title, an attempted Hannibal/Supernatural crossover co-written by @ sarcasticsciencefictionwriter. Sam and Dean are driving through Maryland one night and Dean hits Will, who is a ravenstag, with Baby. Will is pregnant and fleeing hunters who are coming after him and Hannibal, who is half ravenstag, for being cannibals and want to kill their baby as well. The Winchesters learn that ravenstags only take what they need and chose harmful people as their victims (i.e, the rude), and end up teaming up with Will to save Hannibal from the hunters after Bobby, who saved Will when he was a fawn, tells them to. Currently paused because I didn't come up with much an outline and Sarc can't work with that. I'm playing with idea that Sam and Dean might have to deliver the baby.

I believe that is all my WIPS, unless you want to count the to-be-written finale to my collection, the Price of Godhood, where Will is Persephone and Hannibal is Hades, which will be about Will going to the world above on the first day of spring and saying goodbye to husband for six months.
