That's just how they are meant to be, and if hate them for begin "too soft" then you clearly don't understand their characters..

Funfact: When I was designing the endpapers for the US editions of SPECTACULAR, I had initially assumed there would be two different endpapers at the front and back, so I made a 'Before and After' concept. Unfortunately, we only were able to use one (totally my fault for assuming!), but I lamented not having the 'After' see the light of day! Stephanie and her wonderful reps at @flatiron_books have graciously allowed me to design a sticker sheet so you can complete my original vision in your own copies of SPECTACULAR! Just place the four stickers in their respective corners on the back endpapers and you'll complete the story of Scarlett and Julian's mistletoe meetup, and Tella surprising Legend out of his humbug humph! Scarlett Dragna will always have my heart. She’s such an amazing character and she deserves so much better from everyone especially Tella. I’m so glad she has Juillian with her.

I’m so glad she found someone who loves her with his whole everything. Like this girl loves so freely and so beautifully and had never ever felt the same love reciprocated- not even from Tella, until she met Juillian. I’m not saying Tella didn’t love her. They both love each other so much, but Tella doesn’t love Scar as much as Scar loves Tella. Scarlett even acknowledges this.

She’s such an eldest sister. Her sacrifices. Her silent pain. Her unconditional and endless love for Tella even tho she knew Tella would never pick her over everyone like Scar would pick Tella. The way she forgave her birth father, the way she tried to find excuses for her mother in the end…

This girl deserves happiness and love and all that is good in life.
