Lovestruck in-game vs real life -- Los Angeles (Gangster's in Love, My Siren Crush backgrounds, but also used in other series), all photos taken by me w/ my phone
Los Angeles skyline (night) -- Photo taken from Griffith observatory. The observatory closes at 10PM, your car will be locked-in/cited if you park at the top and don't leave by 10PM. Suggestion is to park at Greek Theater and walk up to the observatory, it's a 15-20min walk. 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 Griffith observatory (night) -- While the observatory is closed on Mondays, this is the best time to visit with less people there. You can still walk around the grounds and take photos. The parks, grounds close at 10PM. 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 Rodeo Dr -- In Beverley Hills there's a street with all high end shopping and eateries. Worth a walk through even if you don't buy anything. 9480 Dayton Way, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 Santa Monica Pier -- During weekdays you can drive up to the boardwalk and park there. During weekends it gets pretty crowded and you'd have to park at the public garages nearby in downtown. The Ferris wheel is worth a ride during the day to get a high view of the entire beach. Surfing classes, rentals are available. 200 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401 Santa Monica beaches -- I went on a weekday and there were still a lot of people, but the beaches are nice especially at sunset. I didn't get a chance this time, but I heard beaches at Malibu are also very nice. Los Angeles skyline (day) -- There's free parking about 1 mile down from the observatory and a dirt hiking trail (it's kinda steep) that leads up to the observatory. The short hiking trail is a good spot to get a view of the skyline in the daytime. 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027

On December 17th, 2019, I decided to hang out with the person who would become my rapist. I agreed to go to what I thought would be a gathering at his friend's house later that night. It was only him and one male friend at that time. I had taken a phone call in a bedroom from a friend. When I opened the door, he was standing there, demanding to know who I was talking to. I had a bad feeling and I wanted to leave immediately. I tried to push past him, he grabbed my phone, and shoved me backwards to the bed, so hard that I thought my head was going to hit the wall. He told me I couldn't leave, that he had plans for me to make money. He told me he had a gun and reached over to a bag near the closet door. I tried to get up and he shoved me again, holding me down on the bed. I remember him saying that I can’t leave because people would come after me. I remember him telling me if I tried to leave he would send someone to beat me up. I told him he would have to kill me before I did anything for him. I was crying at this point and he got up to stand in front of me. He asked me why I was crying, and what the problem was. I remember talking about my family, about my birthday, about the holidays. I told him that I didn’t know what he wanted me to do for him, but I wasn’t going to become a prostitute or do anything i didn’t want to. He laughed and asked me if that’s what I really thought he had planned for me. He told me he had a daughter and he would never do that to me because he wouldn’t want someone to do that to his daughter. He told me that there were other ways to make money and if I showed him I was loyal, he would take care of me. He asked me again if I would take care of him so he could take care of me. He unbuckled his pants and put himself in my mouth while I was still crying. I didn’t know what to do. I closed my eyes and continued to cry. I kept wishing that I would die at that moment, that what was happening to me was just a bad dream. He took himself out of my mouth and removed my underwear. I remember regretting wearing a dress that day. He kept telling me, while he raped me, that if I took care of him, he would take care of me. He asked me if I would do anything for him. He asked me if he wanted me to have sex with his other friend to make him happy. He asked me if I would have sex with anyone that he wanted to make him happy. I remember just laying on my back feeling helpless and numb. I just stared at the ceiling and cried. I remember closing my eyes so I wouldn’t see him anymore, praying it would end soon.
From the morning of December 18th until the morning of December 19th, I was forced to drive him to Los Angeles from Las Vegas. On the drive to Los Angeles he told me the different ways that I could make money for him. He said that I could carry drugs in rental cars from different states. He said that I could go to a doctor to get a codeine prescription that he could sell. He reminded me that I did not have to become a prostitute if I did not want to, but if I remained loyal to him and took care of him, he would do the same for me. I kept telling him about my family and what we do for the holidays. I hoped that if I kept telling him about my family that he would let me go. I was worried he would go after my family if I didn’t do what he wanted. I asked him if I would be able to make it home in time to see them for the holidays, and he assured me that I would after I made him some money. I didn’t believe him, and I started to accept that I might not be able to go home ever again, but if there was a chance he would let me go, I would have to listen to him.
We arrived at his friend’s house in Beverly Hills. I remember watching the clock from 9:34pm, until almost 3am. Many people went in and out of the house that night. They all told stories about their days: some were pimps and talked about slapping women who talked back, some talked about how much money they made that day and how they made it. I prayed that none of these men would touch me. I was lucky that no one paid attention to me and I just had to sit there. He told me we would be staying in that house for the night. He tried to initiate sex with me. I told him that I was tired, and lucky for me, he was tired as well. He told me “you’re going to regret telling me no” and fell asleep. I realized that he didn’t have any intention of letting me go and I needed to escape. For the first time that day I was able to text people without him looking over my shoulder and planned my escape.
Around 9am on December 19th, he asked me to get his phone charger from his car. I took this as my chance to leave and took his car to a nearby gas station and had called my friend to pick me up. I had never felt such relief. I changed my phone number and blocked his phone number and prayed he would never contact me again. I just wanted to go home and forget everything that happened. A friend had arranged for me to fly back to Las Vegas. When I got back, I threw away the clothes I had been wearing, I took a shower and got into my bed. I was relieved I was home and I just wanted to resume my life.
On December 20th, 2019, I had my first panic attack when I tried to go back to work. When I exited my car in the parking garage, out of the corner of my eye I saw someone walking towards me. My heart was racing and I thought he was coming back for me. It was just a man walking through the garage to his car. I walked inside my job where I worked and I felt like everyone was watching me. I was scared he had sent people my information and what I looked like. I thought he would show up any moment. I made it to the escalator before I started to feel nauseous and light-headed. I felt like I could not breathe and I started to cry. I ran to the bathroom and had to call my supervisor to let her know I could not come into work. I could barely get the words out and I remember sitting on the bathroom floor uncontrollably crying. I called my friend and explained to him what was happening and he asked me what really happened the night of December 17th. He said that if what happened to me was true, that I was raped and I needed to go get a medical examination for tests and medication. I went to the hospital to be examined and I told the nurse that I just wanted to make sure I was physically okay. After I walked out of the hospital, I received a call from my supervisor firing me because I hadn’t shown up for work the past few days. She didn’t know the exact reason why I didn't go to work, and I just didn’t know what to say anymore.
I have forced most of these memories out of my head. While I write this, I relive these memories that have forever changed who I am as a person. I am lucky to have a family that is supportive and who insisted I come home after the incident. My family pushed me to file a police report to name my attacker, ensuring that I would be protected and I was safe again.
He will never know, even close to how I feel, or know what life has been like for me since.
I can't speak his name when I talk about what has happened to me. I cannot see men who even remotely resemble him without tensing up and seeing his face. I cannot drive most days long distances longer than 10-minutes without having anxiety, or on my worst days without having panic attacks. It is exhausting to remain on edge every day, and I remember that when I let my guard down, I was raped and kidnapped.
Every day, in the back of my mind, he is always there. What he did to me and what he forced me to do was a reminder that he thought nothing of me. He didn’t see me as a human, he saw me as an object. He intended to use me as a way to get himself ahead in his life. The defendant took away my will to live, and what he did has left permanent scars that I will never be able to erase.
I am lucky to be a survivor and I am lucky to be able to have the opportunity to speak about what has happened to me today. A lot of victims don’t have the same luck. He took my choice away from me on December 17th to December 19th, 2019. He knew that when he kept me in the room with him that night knowing I wanted to go home, was not consent. He knew that I wanted to go home and while I was crying, he still forced himself on me. He knew he didn’t have consent from me. He took advantage of my fear, and when I froze he raped me, then held me against my will. He has caused me a lifetime of pain and suffering...

Million-Dollar Watch Stolen In Beverly Hills California Holdup Found After Arrest In Miami Florida – Los Angeles California reporting
Police and federal agents say organized groups of thieves often move stolen luxury goods across the country for resale.
Detectives from the Miami Police Department said they identified 25-year-old Yeison Jose Bolivar as the man who committed the April robbery, and on Sept. 5 he and two other men were arrested.
Police said they found the Beverly Hills watch and a stolen rifle and a stolen handgun.
Bolivar made an initial appearance in court last week and was ordered held without bail. He's expected to return to court later this month to enter pleas to the local charge of robbery with a firearm.
two other men suspected of carrying out the robbery had been given photos that showed the exact watch they were dispatched to steal.
"These are the 2 watches we are looking for, they are valued at 1.3 million dollars," the men were told, according to the court papers.
The men charged with the Beverly Hills robbery, Jamer Mauricio Sepulveda Salazar and Jesus Eduardo Padron Rojas, were caught by police in Riverside, California after their car was identified by officers in Beverly Hills.
During a search of a short-term rental home allegedly used by the men police said they also found a Glock handgun once owned by ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, who died after a killing spree in 2013.
LAPD Chief Dominic Choi said last month the gun was never one that was issued to Dorner by the Department, but it was still not clear how a gun once registered to Dorner ended up with the accused watch thieves.

feast or famine
we arrived back to NYC yesterday on a red eye flight. our lives are moving at 100mph. last monday, i attended the first acrylic painting class. there are 5 others - all white girls including the teacher besides one older east asian girl. this class is pretty different from the ceramics class, it feels like elevated paint and sip nights - most people were chit chatting, we have freedom to paint whatever we want, and the teacher is encouraging and gives kind suggestions. there's definitely less instruction in this class than i was hoping for, but it's a nice and relaxing environment.
midday last tuesday, we flew out from JFK. it was raining that day so the uber from our apartment cost almost $100. arrived in burbank that night, picked up a rental car, and drove to my parent's house. my mom prepared abalone porridge. we ate and slept. for all the remaining days, we maximized the meal per diem, which was $100/person per day. for most of the meals, we got food for our families to share. i just submitted receipts for reimbursements today, and it really looks like we're a couple of fatsos.
wednesday, we did hot yoga. it feels great to do hot yoga anywhere, but at that studio specifically, i sweat a LOT and it's transformational. thursday night, we checked into a beverly hills hotel where they upgraded us to a freakin' suite for free. the suite was almost 800 sq ft and had an amazing view of the town. friday morning, matt had a two hour interview. a few hours after the interview, they called to give him a verbal offer. had dinner at lawry's with matt's family for dinner. saturday, we went to loquat (so good!) and i got dropped off at home. i went with my mom and grandma to dinner at my aunt's. sunday, did a neighborhood walk with SZ, thai lunch with matt's family, and took my family to happy hour before eating my grandma's homecooked curry and then rushing back to burbank airport. details are missing here but we basically had very little downtime.
the offer was good news, however, matt had concerns about the schedule and responsibilities. he would have more liability here. all our families and i were excited for him. he doesn't know if he wants the job yet, which honestly was disappointing for me to hear.
i almost didn't want to go to painting class last evening due to tiredness, but glad i did. yesterday, the recruiter called matt and told him he'll need to set up an interview with the CMO/director at the west LA location for protocol. additionally, he received interview offers at the OC, south bay and baldwin park locations! the recruiter said they'll give him time to interview at multiple locations before extending any contracts so he can shop around. as my friend L said, it's feast or famine. though i am happy and proud matt has all these new opportunities, it continues to be a stressful/tense time with uncertainty looming in the air. at this point, it seems bakersfield is out of the question. i'm praying for either southbay or pasadena, but am happy we at least have west LA to fall back on.

A Waking Nightmare In The City Of Angels
Before me, a view of Los Angeles, seen from above, looking down from an airplane or helicopter, in daylight, fills the screen. The view shifts and changes, with the movement of the airplane or helicopter. At first, I focus on large buildings, but soon, I see a highway with motor vehicle traffic in the foreground and the buildings recede into the background.
My aerial view is accompanied by the movie's opening credits and a song performed with a disco beat.
The one highway in the foreground changes, with the addition of a second highway with motor vehicle traffic, and soon, all I see are more and more highways, flowing with traffic. From above, the highways resemble geometric shapes.
Then, my gaze is directed downward, towards one highway in particular, towards one stretch of one highway, as if one car on the stretch of the one highway is important. Abruptly, at ground level, I see that one car is in motion. It's a yellow taxicab, with one passenger, a man, seated behind the cab's driver.
The movie's opening song concludes, as the yellow cab pulls up to the entrance of a hotel, identified as the Beverly Hilton. the passenger leaves the cab, holding one small piece of luggage, enters the hotel's lobby, walks to the reservation desk and identifies himself with a thick foreign accent as Roger Garnier.
The desk clerk, who looks to be in his late 30's, seems to recognize the man's name. He hands over an attache case which he says was brought to the hotel by Garnier's secretary, along with a small envelope. Garnier inquires about renting a car and signs in for his room.
Once in his room, Garnier inspects the contents of the attache case and opens the small envelope. There's a newspaper (the New York Times), small stacks of money, a small revolver, and bullets. The small envelope he simply opens and throws onto a table.
Garnier is lost in thought. He locates his bed in the next area of his suite and lies down. Something is on his mind.
Within a minute, the phone next to his bed rings. A man's voice on the phone speaks in a foreign language (which I recognize as French) and relays instructions: a man's name and an address in Beverly Hills. The caller tells Garnier to repeat the information which he does.
In a matter of minutes, Garnier is driving his rental car. He arrives at the address given in the phone instructions and, using the phone at the front gate, gives his name and asks to meet with the man named in the instructions. "I'm expected," he says.
Once let inside by a servant, Garnier is ushered into an impressive-looking room and waits for the man, named Victor Kovacs, to meet with him. A woman enters, identifies herself as Mrs. Kovacs, asks whether Mr. Garnier needs a drink, lets him know that her husband will be with him soon, adds that maybe she will speak to Garnier later, and then makes her way to a nearby swimming pool, outside on the premises, where a young man, Kovacs' son, is reclining on a chair.
Inside the impressive-looking room, Garnier is staring at a large painting over a mantle piece. Mr. Kovacs enters and starts a friendly conversation, but when his visitor turns around to look at him, Kovacs does not recognize him.
"Who the hell are you!?," he demands.
Garnier pulls out his revolver and ries one shot, right at Kovacs, above the waist, then quickly finds a way to exit the house and the property, making use of the electronic control of the front gate. Mrs. Kovacs and Kovacs' son, Alex, rush into the house, once they hear the one gunshot.
So...a man arrives by jet airliner, checks into a hotel, is given money, a gun, and bullets that are delivered to him at the hotel. He's, then, given instructions by telephone. He goes to an address, shoots and kills a man, then leaves.
My description does not convey the way that any of the characters in these scenes interact with each other.
Once I saw the contents of the attache case and paid attention to the phone call in the hotel room, I told myself that Garnier had arrived in Los Angeles, expecting to receive details regarding what he expected to do when he left France.
But then...how do I explain to myself why the character Mr. Kovacs is supposed to be murdered? And why does the character, Garnier, murder Mr. Kovacs? I can't come up with reasons.
I hope to find out the answer to each question.
But before I can get my bearings, the plot of this frightening drama quickly becomes tense. Garnier returns to the Beverly Hilton and asks for the key to his room. The same desk clerk tells Garnier that he's been checked out by his -- Garnier's -- secretary. The secretary took Garnier's belongings from the room. Garnier is due to take a flight to San Francisco at the airport. The clerk is confused by the fact that Garnier does not seem to know about this.
"Your secretary brought written authorization," he says.
On the spot, Garnier's facial expression takes on the look of a poker player. He thinks for a moment, then tells the clerk that he made a mistake by not changing the time on his wristwatch and became confused. He, then, turns and leaves.
The clerk calls after him. "Have a good trip," he says.
The conversation between the two characters in this scene is both cryptic and creepy. "What the hell is going on, here?" I say to myself.
The bulk of the plot of the 104-minute movie, THE OUTSIDE MAN, which played in theaters throughout the U.S. in January, 1973, focuses on what this enigmatic paid killer character has to do to stay alive in a strange environment, many miles from his homeland.
In staying focused with the twists and turns of THE OUTSIDE MAN's plot, I have to construct an arm's length relationship with the paid killer character who is played by French actor Jean-Louis Tritignant. I say "an arm's length relationship" because to simply follow along with this paid killer character is to start behaving like an accomplice, so it's best to keep one's distance and pay attention to what is happening throughout Los Angeles.
As the movie's plot plays out, I occasionally notice some gaps in details. Example: how does character X know the address where character Y lives? A gap in details, combined with the large amount of violent situations, reminded me of nightmares that I have had over the years.
In a nightmare, sometimes there will be a transition to a new situation that, when I wake up, at first, does not make sense, but, when I was dreaming, did make sense.
I am being deliberately vague about the way that THE OUTSIDE MAN's plot plays out. When I reached the grim conclusion of the movie, I figured out that there is a narrator who is separate from the main character -- the paid killer character. The main character is not telling the story. The narrator is more important than the paid killer character.
If any of this sounds interesting to you who are reading my words, track down a copy of this movie on DVD. THE OUTSIDE MAN is a forgotten movie and should be better known.

3 Reasons to Look Beyond The Rental Prices While Hiring a Luxury Car on Rent
Are you worried about the budget? First of all, you should know that the exotic cars like the Ferrari 488 GTB or the Lamborghini Aventador Miura for rent in Los Angeles are all quite reasonable to rent according to the economic standards of celebrities or business tycoons like you. And more importantly, car rental services are not just about the pricing. There are several other things that you need to keep in mind apart from the price while choosing a car for rent. If you need any kind of information on this article-related topic click here bentley rental in dubai
Here, we have put together a few reasons why you should look beyond the rental rates when hiring a car for rent. Take a look.
Convenience
It is a known fact that you have chosen to rent a car in Los Angeles because of greater convenience on the road while you are in a different city and must also maintain your high-end lifestyle. Therefore, more than the rental price, you will be bothered about the flexibility of the car rental. Look for options where you will be picked up from the airport directly, whether you will be given an efficient chauffeur, or things like if the rental company has a proper commercial office in the city where you can meet the authorities face to face if need be, and other sorts of convenient features which make your rental experience a pleasant one.
Boundary Restrictions
Are you going to be in Los Angeles or do you plan to hop to other cities or towns during your stay here? Since you are going to a new city and renting a car, you should be clear about your itinerary. This is not your own car that you can drive it around anywhere you feel like. There are certain state limitations and there are separate regional and national networks among rental car services too. You might have to exchange vehicles if required. All these factors must be checked before embarking on a journey in your rental fleet.
Additional Drivers
You might want to share your driving responsibility with a colleague, friend, or spouse when you pick a classic Lamborghini or the latest 2018 Ford Raptor for rent in Beverly Hills or any other part of Los Angeles during your stay. But sometimes, certain rental companies might charge you additionally for these extra drivers. You should discuss this point in detail with the rental company before making a decision.
So, now you understand that there are several other points too which need to be discussed too apart from just the charge for the Bentley Bentayga or the Rolls Royce Dawn for rent in Los Angeles. Therefore, discuss these issues along with the price when hiring a rental car the next time.
