A Comprehensive Guide to Purchasing Car Parts Online: Tips and Tricks
The convenience and low cost of purchasing auto components online have made this vehicle maintenance and repair method a popular choice among modern car owners. But finding your way around the enormous internet marketplace for auto parts can be challenging. This post will give you some basic pointers when you purchase car parts online.
Know Your Vehicle's Details
Get to know your vehicle inside and out before you begin searching to purchase car parts online. The year, model, manufacturer, and kind of engine are all part of this. The search filters of many online car parts suppliers require this information to match you with the relevant items. Additionally helpful is having your vehicle's identification number (VIN) on hand, as it records your vehicle's detailed specs.
Research and Compare Retailers
Online stores offering auto parts are plentiful, and you may find a wide variety of brands, pricing, and levels of customer care at each one. It's a good idea to check out several sites to compare pricing and read reviews from other customers. You may learn much about a store's credibility and trustworthiness by checking with the Better Business Bureau.
Get to Know the Parts' Details and Their Quality
You can't just purchase car parts online. Although they tend to be pricier, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts manufactured by the car's maker ensure a flawless fit and optimal performance. Different manufacturers create aftermarket parts, meaning their quality and price points can differ. Some aftermarket components are high quality, and some must be up to scratch. Ensure you get a high-quality part by checking its specs and reading reviews.
Check for Compatibility
Verifying the part's compatibility with your vehicle is an essential first step when you purchase car parts online. Verify the part number matches your car's specifications. Even though compatibility checkers are available at many internet retailers, it's wise to check with your owner's handbook or a mechanic, just in case.
Find the Return Policy and Warranties
For added peace of mind and protection against flaws, look for warranties on parts sold by reputable online sellers. Be sure to read the return policy thoroughly before buying anything. A reasonable return policy is of the utmost importance in the event that you receive a damaged or incorrectly ordered part. Know that there may be a restocking fee and certain return conditions.
Think About How Much and How Long It Will Take to Ship
There is a wide range of stores regarding shipping charges and delivery dates. Even if you find a lower price on a part, you might not be able to justify the high shipping costs if certain companies provide free shipping above a particular threshold. You should also consider the delivery time, mainly if the part is an emergency when you purchase car parts online. You can get fast shipping choices from several stores for a little extra money.
Conclusion
When you learn about your options and adhere to these guidelines, buying auto parts online may be a practical and economical choice. For a good purchase, it's important to know your vehicle's characteristics, compare vendors, grasp part specs, and check for warranties and return policies. By using these tactics to keep your car in top shape, you may avoid the trouble of going to a brick-and-mortar store.

wait they managed not to broadcast any force india cars for a weekend?? when and why did this happen??
Oh this is a severely fucked up occurrence that I will try to stay brief about but. Basically in 2012 formula one raced in Bahrain as a pretty much implicit sportswashing measure (I'm wary of throwing the term around but f1 had cancelled the race in 2011 due to 'political unrest' aka mass protests from a civilian population that were being violently put down, and in 2012 were explicitly asked to return in what was seen by most as the Bahrain government trying to show they had returned to normal and there were definitely no more human rights abuses happening.) This was widely condemned by both international charities and local activists but Bernie insisted it was all good and they would race no matter what. To put into perspective how fucked the situation was, a protester was killed the weekend of the race.
(side note if you look into this deeper and actually investigate the politics going on behind a Motorsport pov a lot of drivers showed their asses here in their response and it's interesting especially in the case of Sebastian and Lewis how they reacted here VS how they would probably have reacted today.)
So that's. The background. Now here's the insane part. Obviously there were local protests against this, a lot of them. But only one incident really seemed to rattle f1 and that was a hire car of Force India mechanics had a petrol bomb thrown at it. Nobody was hurt but subsequently Force India decided not to participate in the later practice session so the staff could all return to their hotels before it got dark outside.
F1 was. Pissed. How dare you ruin our messaging. There is nothing wrong here, we're all having a great time here, there is no unrest whatsoever the government and their money are doing a great job. Also, this was back when news breaking on twitter was a fairly new concept so the process of these rumours coming out via twitter were very very messy and drew more attention to the sport.
So in what was probably an effort to avoid this online speculation and people demanding answers, during the first practice session, f1 decided the world was populated entirely by toddlers with no object permanence, and if they just didn't SHOW force india, nobody would remember to ask them about the force india petrol bomb rumours. So you had one session where every single team was getting screen time EXCEPT force india - like, I remember it being commented on as odd at the time - and a weekend where the camera kept cutting away from force india cars jarringly as much as it could.

24. Attempting to find out if they are single/available
Gregory sat alone at a bar, the name of which he had already forgotten, drinking cheap bourbon and feeling sorry for himself. Wallowing in self-pity was an unnecessary indulgence, of course. A complete waste of time. But, Gregory reflected, maybe he deserved a moment just to feel miserable.
He had uprooted his life for a new job position as the principal of an elementary school. He had bid farewell to his family and friends in Baltimore and moved into an apartment in the unfamiliar city of Philadelphia, fully prepared to start putting his degree to good use. And then, in the final moments, the rug was pulled out from under him.
We regret to inform you that we have chosen to move forward with another candidate...
The bourbon burned on the way down. Gregory welcomed the feeling. Something must have happened after he accepted the job offer. Maybe a higher-up had decided last-minute that Gregory didn't make enough eye contact during the interview, that his demeanor was too stoic and off-putting, that he wouldn't have been a good fit. Or, maybe, Gregory's job offer had been revoked in favor of a nepotism hire, or...
Gregory's train of thought was interrupted by a voice that seemingly materialized from somewhere near his left shoulder. "Hey! I saw you were sitting alone and I thought, whoa, what a coincidence, I'm also by myself."
Alarmed, Gregory turned to see a white guy wearing a blue plaid shirt in the seat next to his. Plaid Shirt held out his phone, grinning. On his phone screen was the webpage for The Washington Post's online Saturday crossword; in his other hand was a half-empty margarita. Gregory disliked him immediately in the same way he disliked car crashes and slightly asymmetrical flowerbeds — despite his best efforts, Gregory could not take his eyes off him.
"You seem like a big crosswords guy," said Plaid Shirt, completely ignoring the less-than-thrilled expression on Gregory's face. "I already did The New York Times crossword this morning, but we've still got The Washington Post."
Leave me alone, Gregory wanted to say — but Gregory did in fact enjoy a good crossword, and there was something about the well-meaning naivete written across the guy's face that made Gregory want to buy him a drink. "Okay," he said, instead. A thought occurred to him. "If you're hitting on me —"
"Oh, no, no!" Plaid Shirt said, his face pink. He set his phone on the table, angling it toward Gregory, and took a sip of his margarita. "I was actually on a date with someone earlier, but he left after we got into an argument about the electoral college. Pretty sure he's gonna ghost me later. Honestly, it just looked like you needed a friend. Unless..."
"Unless what?" Gregory prompted, although a part of him knew where this was heading. He glanced at Plaid Shirt's phone and tapped SIAM into 26-across ("India's neighbor on a Risk board").
"Well," Plaid Shirt said, hesitantly, "I did say that guy was gonna ghost me later. So, um, is there someone waiting for you at home, or..."
"No," Gregory said. "No, I just moved here."
"Oh." A small, hopeful smile. "I'm Jacob, by the way."
"Gregory," Gregory said. And then, because alcohol had made him bolder — or maybe because Jacob was weird in a way that put Gregory at ease somehow, like he didn't have to worry about eye contact with this guy who thought doing crosswords with strangers at bars was normal — Gregory added, "Can I get your number?"

Title: WMMT5DX+ to WMMT6 Changes w/ Riya's TRUE IMPREZA
IMPORTANT NOTE: I haven't posted my recent Wangan Maxi Tune experience, this month. So maybe, I could post at least once before doing some art stuff? Who knows? 🤔🤷♀️ Anyways, let's head over to my throwback...
The changes between 5DX+ and the No. 6 installment weren't as thin as before. 🤏 While the gameplay and graphics haven't changed since WMMT4 (well, kind of...?), the features from transferring data from 5DX+ to WMMT6 were a bit of a mixed bag. 😕 Like the "Extreme" VS Player mode was gone (which is an excitement challenge), and other body parts were removed, like "Body Stickers." The latter was my main concern for my 350Z and the Speedster's Impreza cars (GDB-C & GDB-F). Take Riya's Impreza Car [GBD-F].
• ABOVE PHOTO 🖼️📲: (Jan. 12,2019 at World Of Fun Arcade, SM Megamall) Here could you see her car itself was a custom body from "Racing Stripe 2" with pink color, GT Wing (3D) 1, Aero Parts C, Enkei Racing WRX TARMAC EVO Limited Edition FORGED Wheels, and FRP Bonnet A. All of them are equipped on her except her color because I need to unlock the "Light Blue" color (which is her color choice) by playing it many times.
• BELOW PHOTO 🖼️📲: Six months later, the WMMT6 was finally in the Philippines, and here's how her car was without all of the customs bodies except the Aero Parts - I picked the letter "H" for a different look. So why all of her custom bodies are wiped out except the entire Aero Parts are completely unlocked? Well because BNA (Bandai Namco Amusement) had a plan to return the level-up unlock body parts (after you beat a ghost car opponent(s)) which I've seen before in WMMT3DX+ among with predecessors, seems that in exchange for wiping off all custom cars to newly features like upgrade to 840HP when I finished the 100 episodes of "Story Mode" (that's also returned from previous Wangan Maxi installments), replacing RUF cars to Porsche brand, purchased a fully tuned ticket/ Mazda MX-5 RF RS [NDERC]/ Nissan Leopard with my Maxi Points, an improved "Online Ghost VS Battle" etc... So tbh and my opinion, well bit disappointing but very understandable so I respect that.
To this day, the developers of Wangan Maxi Tune are ongoing with updates and changes for both 6RR and 6RR+. And the latter installment has yet to be proven if it shipped to Southeast Asia 🇵🇭🇸🇬🇲🇾🇮🇩🇧🇳🇻🇳🇹🇭, and selected regions like Australia 🇦🇺, New Zealand 🇳🇿, and India 🇮🇳. North America 🇺🇸, on the other hand, still had the old (yet vanilla) 5DX+ installment... 😐😑
Riya 🐰🏎️ [wearing Teenager Hoppy and Teenager CatNap's clothes combined]: *Sigh* Yeah, and I bet we won't see our signature "Twin Stripes" sticker body, anytime soon. 😥 Even the launching 6RR+ installment to us, it won't happened. Curse you, BNA! 😐😑

India Impressions (2023)
I just returned from a week-long trip to India. Most of this trip was meeting entrepreneurs and investors centered around spending time with the team from Bolt in Bangalore (a USV portfolio company). This was my second time in India, following a family vacation in 2015. Here are some observations from my visit:
First, the mood in the country feels optimistic and assertive. People I spoke to, not just from the tech ecosystem, but also drivers, tour guides, waiters, students, and professors, all seemed excited and energized. There was a distinct sense of India emerging as a global powerhouse that has the potential to rival China. As it turns out quite a few government policies are aimed at protecting Indian industrial growth and separating it from China (including the recent ban on TikTok and other Chinese apps). Also, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend watching the movie RRR. It is a "muscular" embodiment of the spirit that I encountered that based on my admittedly unscientific polling was much liked by younger people there (and hardly watched by older ones).
Second, air pollution in Delhi was as bad as I remembered it and in Mumbai way worse. Mumbai now appears to be on par with Delhi. For example, here is a picture taken from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, which is en route from the airport, where you can barely see the high rise buildings of the city across the bay.
Third, there is an insane amount of construction everywhere. Not just new buildings going up but also new sewer lines, elevated highways, and rail systems. Most of these were yet to be completed but it is clear that the country is on a major infrastructure spree. Some of these projects are extremely ambitious, such as the new coastal road for Mumbai.
Fourth, traffic is even more dysfunctional than I remember it and distances are measured in time, not miles. Depending on the time of day, it can easily take one hour to get somewhere that would be ten minutes away without traffic. This is true for all the big cities I went to visit on this trip (Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore). I don't really understand how people can plan for attending in person meetings but I suppose one gets used to it. I wound up taking one meeting simply in a car en route to the next one.
Fifth, in venture capital there are now many local funds, meaning funds that are not branded offshoots of US funds, such as Sequoia India. I spent time with the team from Prime Venture Partners (co-investors in Bolt) and Good Capital among others. It is great to see that in addition to software focused funds there are also ones focused on agtech/food (e.g. Omnivore) and deep tech (e.g. Navam Capital). Interestingly all the ones I talked to have only offshore LPs. There is not yet a broad India LP base other than a few family offices and regulations within India are apparently quite cumbersome, so the funds are domiciled in the US or in Mauritius.
Sixth, the "India Stack" is enabling a ton of innovation and deserves to be more widely known outside of India (US regulators should take note). In particular, the availability of a verified digital identity and of unified payments interfaces is incredibly helpful in the creation of new online and offline experiences, such as paying for a charge on the Bolt charging network. This infrastructure creates a much more level playing field and is very startup friendly. Add to this incredibly cheap data plans and you have the foundations for a massive digitally led transformation.
Seventh, India is finally recognizing the importance of the climate crisis both as a threat and as an opportunity. India is already experiencing extreme temperatures in some parts of the country on a regular basis (the opening of Kim Stanley Robinson's Ministry for the Future extrapolates what that might lead to). India is also dependent on sufficient rainfall during the Monsoon season and those patterns are changing also (this is part of the plot of Neal Stephenson's Termination Shock). As far as opportunity goes, India recently discovered a major lithium deposit, which means that a key natural resource for the EV transition exists locally (unlike oil which has to be imported). India has started to accelerate EV adoption by offering subsidies.
All in all this trip has made me bullish on India. Over the coming years I would not be surprised if we wind up with more investments from USV there, assuming we can find companies that are a fit with our investment theses. In the meantime, I will look for some public market opportunities for my personal portfolio.

On the afternoon of February 14, Junaid Khan, 32, and his nephew Nasir Khan, 25, left their small village of Ghatmeeka in India’s northwestern state of Rajasthan to attend a family function. They didn’t come back.
“When they didn’t return the same night, we got worried,” says Arshad Khan, 44, Junaid’s brother-in-law. “Their phones were switched off as well. We searched for them the whole day.”
Two days later, the men’s bodies were found inside a burned-out vehicle in the village of Loharu, around 240 kilometers away in the neighboring state of Haryana. On their way home after midnight, members of a far-right extremist group had allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed the men, who are Muslims, on suspicion of smuggling cows—animals that are considered sacred by Hindus. Consuming beef and transporting cattle is not illegal, but several states have passed restrictive laws over the past few years, essentially criminalizing a profession that is dominated by Muslims.
“Why did they have to be killed? What was their fault?” Khan says. “Who will look after their poor families now?”
Among the group suspected by police of murdering Junaid and Nasir is 28-year-old Monu Manesar, a high-profile YouTuber who has built a huge following online with his videos of cow vigilantism. Manesar, who is reportedly now on the run, is one of a large ecosystem of sectarian influencers on Indian social media who have benefited from the country’s nationalistic turn under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Human rights advocates say that their content—which is prevalent across Western-owned platforms—is exacerbating social division, and even leading to vigilante attacks on religious minorities.
“We have laws against hate speech that are being used selectively,” Aakar Patel, chair of Amnesty International India says. “Hate speech is allowed both by the government and the social media companies.”
In an email statement, YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon says that YouTube has suspended monetization on Manesar’s channel for violating its creator responsibility policy. “We also removed 9 videos from the channel in question for violating our harassment policies,” he said.
For the past five years, Manesar—a leading member of the Bajrang Dal, a far-right Hindu group—has been part of a team of cow vigilantes along the Rajasthan-Haryana border, and has uploaded videos of their attacks, predominantly on Muslims, to YouTube. His posts often begin with a car chase in the dark and end with group members posing with a cow they have “rescued.”
Manesar and his group have made no secret of the violence they subject their victims to. In June 2016, he was one of a number of people who appeared in a video in which two Muslim men were stopped in Badarpur border, South East Delhi, and forced to eat a concoction of cow dung, urine, milk, and curd. The men had been accused of smuggling beef. The video went viral on Twitter.
In one of his videos on YouTube, Manesar's team is even seen shooting at a truck driven by someone they accuse of being a cow smuggler, in an attempt to deflate its tires.
In January this year, Manesar and his team caught three Muslim men they accused of being cow smugglers. They livestreamed on Facebook as they interrogated the men. One of the men, 22-year-old Waaris Khan, died from internal injuries the same day. His family says he was lynched, but police say he died in an accident. The Facebook Live video has since been deleted.
Manesar also has posted routinely on Instagram—where he has 42,000 followers—including images of people he’s alleged to be cow smugglers, often visibly injured. In April 2022, he posted a video on his Instagram account showing a group of men assaulting a Muslim scrap picker with sticks. The caption reads, “These are the scrap-pickers that throw stones at our soldiers and Hindutva supporters.”
Meta did not respond to a request for comment.
Khan said that people in his region are aware of Manesar’s social media. “It is supposed to send a message to us,” he says.
In October 2022, YouTube awarded Manesar a silver play button for crossing 100,000 followers. YouTube’s literature says that Creator Awards are not automatically given when subscriber targets are hit, but are granted at the discretion of the company, which reviews channels before handing out the rewards. YouTube did not respond to a request for comment on Manesar’s award.
Comments under Manesar’s videos are mostly adulatory, thanking him and his team for his “service.” He has also had official endorsements. He’s posted pictures of himself with police officers and bureaucrats. In October 2021, Haryana police included him in a special task force to prevent cow smuggling. Three huge rallies were organized by right-wing organizations on February 19, 21, and 22.
On February 24, thousands of people took to the street in Rajasthan and Haryana to demand justice for Junaid and Nasir Khan. The police filed a complaint against more than 500 people for blocking the highway and suspended internet service in the district for three days, citing the possibility of communal tension.
Human rights groups say that sectarianism has flourished in the political environment created by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party. The party has routinely equated national and religious identities, accusing people who criticize its politics of being anti-Hindu, while itself being accused of promoting hate speech against Muslims. In January, the government forced social media platforms to block clips of a controversial BBC documentary about Modi’s alleged involvement in intercommunal violence in 2002.
The government has banned hundreds of YouTube channels for spreading “fake news” or promoting “anti-Indian views.” But at the same time, there has been a proliferation of channels that broadcast extreme nationalist rhetoric.
In June 2022, a report by the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights found that sectarian content was widespread in India. “The most troubling abuse of YouTube in India involves the targeting of Muslims by backers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and other right-leaning Hindu nationalist groups.” The report concluded. “Religious intolerance long predated the arrival of YouTube in India, but widespread social media use has intensified the hostility.”
In December 2022, an investigation by The Caravan found dozens of Hindu nationalist YouTube channels that were broadcasting extremist content, with viewing figures in the hundreds of millions. Senior BJP leaders had been interviewed on some of the channels, which were “rapidly out-performing mainstream news channels in terms of their reach.”
Amnesty International’s Patel says that the proliferation is partly due to the growth of the platforms and the number of people now using them, “and partly because of the fact that hate speech has been condoned. If you make heroes out of people who abuse minorities and are violent, you will encourage more people to follow that path.”
Some nationalist and sectarian YouTubers have built massive followings, including Vikas Pathak, who had more than 800,000 followers on his Hindustani Bhau channel before it was suspended in 2020, after he posted a video in which he threatened to sexually assault a YouTuber from Pakistan. Days after his suspension, he managed to start another channel, which has 83,000 subscribers. He also has 2.2 million followers on Instagram.
Prem Krishnavanshi, a YouTuber from Uttar Pradesh with just over 87,000 subscribers, has built a career on pop songs aimed toward supporters of Hindutva, or Hindu nationalism. The lyrics of one of Krishnavanshi’s songs, released in 2019, roughly translates to, “You are not humans, you are butchers. Enough of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood.”
“The anti-Muslim online hate industry is booming and the companies are benefiting from it,” says Alishan Jafri, co-author of the Caravan report.
Malon, the YouTube spokesperson, says that the company removed more than 156,000 videos in the third quarter of 2022 for violating hate speech policies.
“Beyond removing harmful content, we also leverage our recommendations system and monetization tools, to promote a healthy ecosystem,” the statement read. “YouTube has always had clear community guidelines that outline what is allowed on the platform and we remove flagged videos and comments that violate our policies. These policies are global, meaning we apply them consistently to all creators on the platform, regardless of their background, political viewpoint, position or affiliation.”
Malon also says that creators can be penalized for abuse or violence that occurs off its platform.
As of February 28, Manesar’s YouTube channel was still active. He has added about 7,000 subscribers since the Khans’ deaths.
India is YouTube’s largest market, with 467 million users—nearly twice as many as the US.
Prateek Waghre, the policy director of the Internet Freedom Foundation, a digital rights group, says that YouTube’s recommendation algorithms may be partially to blame for the spread of this sectarian content. “YouTube has not been particularly open about its recommender system,” he says. “But the algorithm typically prioritizes engagement. If you watch a certain type of content, it will look to feed a similar type of content.”
Waghre says that detecting hate speech is complex in India, where people often switch between languages. But, he says, social media companies tend to be slow to react when alerted to potentially dangerous content. “Even inaction is a form of action,” he says. “Until it becomes a significant PR crisis, they tend not to take action. Sadly, this is consistent behavior across platforms. These companies need to think about how they perceive their neutrality.”
But Waghre also says he suspects that social media companies are nervous about going after nationalist figures, in case a backlash threatens their business interests. “If you take action against a popular right-wing figure, there is a good chance you might be targeted in some way or the other,” he says.
Patel says that more violence is inevitable as hate speech continues to spread, online and offline. “I am 53 years old,” he says. “I have not seen tensions running so high permanently through the country.”
