He sustains a minor injury and now he's going to spend the entire campaign season talking about his 'assassination attempt' and how it was clearly done by democrats and how he's the most wounded warrior in our country's history. fuck's sake.

I don't want to get into politics on main too much, but with two confirmed deaths, it makes it less of a possibility for being staged. I would, admittedly, not put it past him, but more than worry about the legitimacy, what I think we're going to have to brace for is a lot of rage and violence from his supporters.

Hate crimes against visible minorities are going to surge.

What this man needs is a nice AU and a chance to own his own business. Auto body repair, mechanical engineering, or a BDSM club owner. Ten years he's insanely rich and still working in the oil change pit with the newbie.

Poor new guy doesn't realize he's the CEO/Owner until like 8 months in. He's been bitching about this asshole to KILLER of all people and Killer's just glad the newbie's letting off steam.

Kid takes a while to get used to, after all. But once you get there, you stay.

This is a story that is loosely inspired by @mamaalpha 's and I utter OBSESSION with this show on Hulu, Shoresy (and by extension, Letterkenny). and OFC its a Kid Pirate au/ One Piece adjacent AU

Setting my bags on the floor, I take a look around the old farmhouse. It’d been nearly 10 years since I had stepped foot on the land. The 10 acres of private property had been in my dad’s family for generations and would continue to stay in the family long after he passed; the will had recently been updated to remove my mother from receiving anything but the house and property would be deeded to me and my younger brother.

I still have hopes and ideas for this fic and I just need to be in the right frame of mind to do it. ALSO SEASON 3 of SHORESY COMES OUT JUNE 19!!!

wanna preface any sort of talk about anything even tangentially related to healthcare with the disclaimer that of course doing research and talking to professionals is important, but also like. a lot. a LOT. of the "T is so dangerous!!!! it will destroy you from the inside out and you will never be the same!!!!! it will ravage you like the plague and you'll lose your hair and teeth and become a monster!!!!!!!" is like. based on nothing. it's straight up TERF propaganda. There are always changes that will occur in your body when you do hormone therapy, but far and away they're the intended changes. There are lots of things that constitute hormone therapy, too, like you said birth control is one, people who are dealing with thyroid issues go through hormone therapy, there are LOTS of different iterations, it just so happens that the ones that trans your gender are the ones everyone's so fuckin mad about.

like I said, do your research of course, but you're not bad for wanting to go on T, and the gross majority of the scary stuff that gets put out about it is TERFs trying to scare you into staying inside the box they built for everyone.

For SURE for sure. Even knowing it's TERF propaganda I still catch myself sometimes fearmongering to myself repeating that shit oh no my body will change and will never be the same Ö but that's... that's true anyway no matter what I do. Especially because yeah. Fn. Birth control??? And I have friends who have thyroid issues? And there's so much but you are so right people get big mad about the potions of trans your gender (and like... apparently here you have to have a whole fn test done to see which chromosomes you have before you can do hormone therapy but that wasn't needed for getting on the pill like yo????). And they can't even say it's because oh it's an elective thing uwu because so was fucking birth control for me it wasn't like I was taking it to deal with other health issues. It's just. Gah.

But re: research -- I do have a friend (whom I love so much because they are awesom af) who throws me whatever he can think of about their experiences, and I'm lucky enough that my city has a... Transberatungsstelle. I have no clue how to translate that. Kind of like a resource center? All the dictionary entries for Beratungsstelle are wrong (: At any rate they do free anon councilling about trans* issues so I went and talked to them and got a huge stack of information. We've also got a local Queeres Zentrum that has a trans group that meets twice a month which I knew about; what I didn't know about (that I found out about at the TraBS) was that there's also a queer choir in my city and the fn. The fn choir director is a trans man. One of my big fears was that nonsense I keep seeing about oH NO iT'll rUin yOUr vOiCE because I love singing so just knowing that a trans man leads a whole damn choir was like... oh. Oh. Information is my armour and my sword sort of situation

me complaining about oda's crimes about writing women underneath the cut.

oh my god....i wanted to like boa so badly like....i hate being one of those people who hate female anime characters...but oh my god. sometimes i think that oda is only capable of writing women well when he doesn't think of them as women. does that make sense??? because every time he tries to write a character where being a woman is a part of her character or even address misogyny it's like he becomes aware that he's a shounen writer in his late 40's and his character writing takes a nosedive. genuinely feel like everything he was going for with her just flops so badly for me. i also don't think it helps that amazon lily (my least favorite arc besides fishman island...which wins out because the pacing is....atrocious.) comes write after the emotional impact of sabaody and right before the one two three punch of impel down, marineford, and post-war. like every chapter we were still dicking around doing men are from mars shtick on that island i was screaming at my screen ACE IS DYING lol

re: the ask about how Kid and Killer would impress someone they want, I've gotta tell you I've been unable to stop thinking about Kid hamming it up for like. the entire evening. Just sat here consumed by affection for the big dork. Please I beg, what would hamming it up look like, in your opinion? Does he make a big show of lifting something heavy specifically when the person can see? Is it more a show of comparative physicality (he is so big and can lift you SO easily)?

I can really see him doing like, overly exaggerated muscle man poses, flexing his arms and jiggling his pecs and giving you the widest, toothy grin he's got.

This is the kind of guy who, in a modern AU, would reenact that Gaston song from Beauty and the Beast, and lift a bench with the crew on it, cause "heftin' a bunch of willowy chicks into the air ain't nothing, watch this mouse!"
