CT Memories - The Legend of the Strongest Meiwa FC: chapters 11 & 12's summary

⚠️ SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️

Before I post the two chapters's summary, I wanted to make it clear that I wrote 100% of them and that I'm not an expert in Japanese, but I can translate quite a lot, so if there are any small errors in there, I apologize.

■ Chapter 11

• Fall has finally arrived. While working his part-time job, Hyuga notices a poster for the upcoming soccer tournament in Saitama. Sadly, he can't participate, but he doesn't let it discourage him and continues to work hard.

• We learn that Aunt Mitoma, the cafeteria lady who prepared bento for Kojiro in the previous chapter, has decided to resign. It seems she was called in by the school principal, who reprimanded her for showing favoritism by preparing meals for a specific student (Hyuga), which goes against the school rules. Faced with the principal's insensitive attitude, despite Hyuga being an exceptional student in need, Mitoma chooses to resign.

• Hyuga learns about Aunt Mitoma's departure and feels guilty, believing it's his fault she resigned. The cafeteria staff apologizes to Hyuga as they can no longer provide him with free meals due to the school's anti-favoritism policy.

• After school, a frustrated Hyuga returns home and is surprised to find Aunt Mitoma in his house, surrounded by his brothers and sister. He asks her why she's there, and she explains that she's cooking for Hyuga's family. Hyuga's mother apologizes to Mitoma (whom she affectionately calls "Micchan") for the inconvenience. Mitoma responds by saying, "What are you talking about, Masayo-chan? You and I have been best friends since elementary school." (We finally know Hyuga's mother's first name: Masayo Hyuga!) Mitoma reassures Masayo, saying she's there to help and that it's natural to support each other during tough times. Masayo thanks her.

• Hyuga intervenes, apologizing and feeling responsible for Mitoma losing her job due to him. Mitoma reassures Hyuga and tells him that leaving school is an opportunity for her to open a bento shop with a friend.

• Hyuga is deeply moved by Mitoma's kindness and sheds a few tears. Mitoma then offers him some wisdom, saying that his father, who is in heaven, would want him to act like a real man. Hyuga agrees and says it's time to go to work. In her bed, Masayo turns to a photo of her late husband, thinking that she can't wait to recover so her son can play soccer again.

• On the Meiwa FC club side, we see Wakashimazu make a superb save. The goalkeeper coach is impressed by Wakashimazu's abilities and encourages him. Meanwhile, without Wakashimazu noticing, one of the boys (named Sadao) whom Wakashimazu hit at his former school appears with his older brother to seek revenge.

• The older brother promises to avenge his "cute" little brother and crush Wakashimazu. They observe Wakashimazu and are surprised to see that he's not only into karate but also now playing soccer. The older brother has devised a plan to ambush Wakashimazu. Tomorrow after school, he intends to call him to the banks of the Arakawa River, where judo club members from the older brother's college will beat him up.

• The next day, Wakashimazu, Misaki, and Takeshi finish their school day, and Misaki mentions that he'll drop his bag at home before joining Wakashimazu and Takeshi at the training field.

• After Misaki leaves, a group of young men appears. Wakashimazu recognizes them; they are the sixth-graders he fought back at his old school to defend himself. The group greets Wakashimazu with a casual "Yo, Wakashimazu, long time no see."

• One of the group members remarks that Wakashimazu probably thought he had escaped them by changing school. Another announces that they're here today to pay him back for what he did to them last time.

• Takeshi is scared and overwhelmed by the situation. The delinquent group demands that Wakashimazu meet them on the banks of the Arakawa River to avoid attracting attention in the city. Wakashimazu entrusts his school bag to Takeshi. Takeshi is reluctant, but Wakashimazu reassures him, saying he'll take care of them.

• Takeshi wonders what to do, then Hyuga suddenly appears, running, and sees a panicked Takeshi. Hyuga asks him why he's standing there, and Takeshi explains the grave situation with Wakashimazu and how the delinquents from Wakashimazu's former school are after him and have asked him to follow them. Hyuga asks Takeshi where they've gone, and Takeshi provides the location of the confrontation.

• Hyuga is determined to rescue Wakashimazu and drags Takeshi along. They sprint at full speed, almost colliding with a passing truck. The truck driver sticks his head out the window and scolds the boys for their lack of caution but calms down upon recognizing Hyuga. Hyuga also recognizes him and calls him "Uncle Maruoka" Hyuga explains that the situation is urgent and that he needs Maruoka to take them to the banks of the Arakawa River because his friend is in danger. The man agrees to take Hyuga and Takeshi, despite his confusion about the situation.

• Hyuga spots the group by the riverbank. The man stops Hyuga at the requested location. Uncle Maruoka seems to grasp the situation and realizes that a big fight is about to break out, with many opponents. Maruoka leaves and makes a call from his truck to his fellow truckers, informing them that "Kojiro, Hyuga-san's son, is in trouble, so those who can, please come as soon as possible."

• The group facing off against Wakashimazu taunts him, saying they've brought members of the judo club from a nearby middle school with them. Sadao adds that his older brother is on his way as well. Wakashimazu responds by provoking them, stating that they always act like cowards and none of them is willing to fight him one-on-one fairly. The thugs tell him to shut up, claiming that no one can take on the number one karate practitioner in Japan, but they are determined to make him suffer.

• Hyuga arrives dramatically, surprising Wakashimazu and the group of thugs. Hyuga tries to stop the fight, and Wakashimazu looks at him in astonishment.

• Wakashimazu asks Hyuga why he's there. Hyuga responds that he's there to help a "precious friend". Hyuga stands in front of Wakashimazu and tells him, "I've come to help you, Wakashimazu." Hyuga admits he's not used to fighting but assures Wakashimazu that he knows how strong his kicks are (I'm thinking of you, Hyuga, when you destroyed the table with a kick in World Youth, so yes, we can say your kicks are strong, hahaha...). He says that even if he gets beat up, he'll send some of the thugs to the hospital.

• Hyuga tells Takeshi that since he's never fought before, he should stay back and watch them (Hyuga and Wakashimazu) fight. Although trembling like a leaf, Takeshi says he can't just stand there and watch while his teammates fight, and he won't run away. He admits he's terrified.

• Wakashimazu smiles and tells Hyuga and Takeshi that they are both interesting individuals.

• Sadao's older brother addresses him and says they were not supposed to fight against three people. Sadao responds that he doesn't understand why there are other people present besides Wakashimazu. The gang of thugs regroups and says that it doesn't matter if they're three; it won't change the outcome, and they'll crush them anyway.

• Suddenly, a large group of trucks arrives, surrounding the group of young people to their astonishment.

• Uncle Maruoka lowers the truck window and scolds the thugs, stating that they are upperclassmen bullying their underclassmen. He intimidates them by explaining that he and his fellow truckers were under the orders of Hyuga's father and that they have explosive temperaments. He warns that if any of the thugs dares to act, the truckers will as well.

• Seeing the threatening demeanor of the truckers, Sadao's older brother asks if the truckers were also part of the plan, and his brother doesn't know what to say anymore. Intimidated by the truckers, the gang quickly flees.

• The Meiwa trio watches in disbelief as the group runs away, and Hyuga remarks that apparently, they didn't have to fight, much to Takeshi's relief.

• Hyuga thanks Maruoka for his help, and Maruoka tells him it's nothing. The truckers tell Hyuga that if another problem arises, he shouldn't hesitate to ask for their help. Hyuga expresses his gratitude enthusiastically.

• After this adventure, Hyuga mentions that he's running a bit late for his part-time job and needs to go. Wakashimazu is also running late. He thanks Hyuga, and Hyuga responds that it's nothing, as it's normal for Meiwa FC teammates to help each other.

• Takeshi, worried, asks Hyuga if he'll be present for the upcoming prefectural autumn tournament, which starts next week. He inquires if Hyuga will be there. Hyuga thinks about the situation, feeling torn, and explains that the upcoming three-day weekend will be a great opportunity to earn some money. Takeshi is extremely disappointed. Hyuga then proposes a solution: for the first two days of the tournament, the team will have to play without him, but he promises to be there for the final, which delights Takeshi. Takeshi promises to do everything in his power to win until Hyuga's return.

■ Chapter 12

• The Meiwa FC players are training on the field. While observing them, Coach Kira points out how talented Misaki is and how well he's integrating into the team despite being there for only a week. The assistant coach agrees and mentions that the upcoming tournament will be exciting. Coach Kira also notes that with Takeshi and now Misaki on the team, Hyuga will have twice as many scoring opportunities, but the assistant coach recalls that Hyuga may not be able to participate due to his family issues, which troubles Coach Kira.

• The training session comes to an end. Takeshi talks to Misaki about Hyuga's strength on the team, which piques Misaki's interest. Wakashimazu adds that Hyuga is by far the strongest striker in Meiwa FC. Talking about Hyuga makes Misaki eager to meet him, but Hyuga is too busy with work and school. That's when Misaki remembers that Hyuga delivers newspapers early in the morning.

• The next morning, Hyuga is delivering newspapers as usual before school starts when he sees Takeshi, Wakashimazu, and Misaki ahead of him. Surprised, he asks them what they're doing out so early. Takeshi explains that they're there to help him with the newspaper delivery. By sharing the work, it will give Kojiro some free time before classes start, allowing him to train with them. The boys' gesture touches him.

• Hyuga notices Misaki and remarks that he doesn't know him. Misaki introduces himself to Kojiro, and they get to know each other. Wakashimazu explains that Misaki is a very talented player who passed the Meiwa FC entrance test. Takeshi mentions that Misaki even defeated him in a one-on-one duel, which astonishes Hyuga.

• To facilitate the newspaper delivery, Hyuga gives each of the boys a stack and explains how the route works.

• Once the delivery route is completed, the boys take advantage of their free time to go and train before school begins. Hyuga feels grateful to the boys because they've allowed him to play soccer again after a long absence from the field.

• Misaki takes the ball from Hyuga's feet, causing him to fall to the ground. Hyuga attributes it to a lack of practice, but Takeshi suggests that it's because Misaki is genuinely very strong. Provoked, Hyuga decides to step up and tackles Misaki, stealing the ball from him. Takeshi points out to Hyuga and Misaki that this training is not supposed to be a face-off between them but an opportunity to learn each other's playing styles to better coordinate during the upcoming prefectural tournament, a notion that both Hyuga and Misaki approve of.

• From his small house, Coach Kira watches the boys training. The training routine of the four boys repeats almost every morning until the tournament arrives.

• The big day arrives, the opening of the Saitama Prefectural Autumn Tournament. The goalkeeper coach and Wakashimazu's senior encourage him for his first official match as a goalkeeper. Wakashimazu appears nervous, and his legs tremble as he thinks about the responsibility a goalkeeper carries. He regains his composure and charges into the match.

• The opposing team launches their first attack, and the player takes a shot, but Wakashimazu dives and makes a superb save. Internally, Wakashimazu can't help but compare the opponent's strength to Hyuga's. He finds that Hyuga's shots are much more powerful than what he just stopped.

• Wakashimazu's father (dressed in regular clothes, not a kimono!!!!!!) can be seen accompanied by Ken's older brother, Shin. Shin remarks to his father that he seems worried about Ken nevertheless. Shin observes that for his first match, Ken is exceptional as a goalkeeper, and it doesn't look like his first match given how skilled he is. Papa Waka agrees with a smile. He remembers Hyuga's words when he came to challenge Ken to a duel in the family dojo and how he said Ken was a "football genius," and Hyuga was probably not wrong.

• Meiwa FC won 5-0, thanks to Misaki's fantastic goals and Wakashimazu's excellent saves, despite being in the early stages of his goalkeeping career.

• While Hyuga works hard during the Meiwa Food Festival, he thinks about his teammates and hopes they did their best, looking forward to joining them on the day of the final.

News - Youichi Takahashi, creator of the iconic soccer manga Captain Tsubasa, announced that he will be retiring from serialized manga. From the article above:

Takahashi explained that he had been thinking over the past few years about whether he would continue or finish drawing the manga. He calculated that it may take over 40 years to finish the story. As such, instead of pushing his body to the limit, he concluded that it would be better to stop serialization. Takahashi is over 60 years old, and he considers himself to be in good health. However, due to presbyopia, the gradual loss of the eyes' ability to focus on nearby objects, he is experiencing poorer eyesight and dizziness. The combination of his condition, COVID-19 affecting staff structure, the switch to digital methods for drawing manga, and the death of Dokaben baseball manga creator Shinji Mizushima in January 2022 all factored into his decision. Takahashi is considering drafting storyboards that continue the story past the manga's final chapters.

While the original Captain Tsubasa manga ended in 1988, Takahashi has been making sequela, one-shots, and spin-off manga for it consistently since it's "ending". The series is popular all over the world (especially where soccer/foot ball is the reining sport), and has been released in multiple languages. Sadly, the original series was never released in the US (though we have gotten some of the spin-off anime and video games). Captain Tsubasa is a titan of sports manga and anime, so thank you Takahashi-sensei for your years of hard work and inspiring manga!

My Fave Naruto OC whose name is Tsubasa Emiya(First Name inspired by Tsubasa Ozora from Captain Tsubasa,Last Name inspired by Kiritsugu Emiya from Fate Series.) Is such a troll that he goes on a trip and as he finishes a task,he gains the ability to manipulate his genetics and body thus changing his appearance permanently as he has been insecure about his looks for a very long time.

When he returns back to Konoha,Kakashi freaks out and people mistook him for a spy and wanted to have Ibiki to interrogate him but Tsubasa refused to cooperate and with Sasuke's help,they altered everyone's memories. And that's after Tsubasa goes to his parents and they scold him for what he's done and Tsubasa is like "i don't mind it as long as i'm proud of myself. Deal with it."

Like imagine he was masked,black hair and black eyes with fair skin when he left and in matter of four days he comes back white haired,left eye being icy blue and right eye being emerald green, with pale skin. He give himself heterochromia on purpose to so he never thinks of himself as a perfect being when looking in a mirror.

Tsubasa still wears the traditional ninja mask like Kakashi,but he attracts so many girls after "shapeshifting". He hates being in center of attention and chooses to be a loner. Ino(ESFP girl who complements INTJ Tsubasa) found him to be interesting and befriended Tsubasa when he was a child. After his tranaformation,Ino teases up constantly and wants him to date girls,but he is too depressed for that and prioritizes his career as a ninja and writer,aims to achieve happiness for himself and not mess up a girl's life.

I guess it's a new yearly ritual of mine: I have somehow getting back into Inazuma Eleven for three days, wanting to make an UTAU voicebank; and now, I guess I have the yearly, challenge-fueled (platonic) AkeJun fanfic. Last year had the Fanfiction Library's New Ship Challenge entry, "Honestly, I've Seen Better Days", and this year, we have a Whumptober prompt fill. Who knows what 2024 will bring! Maybe next time I'll actually go off the rails.

Yeah, it's yet another humourous take on a prompt. I'm a dumbass like that.

If you wish to place this oneshot in the actual HSAU timeline, it's meant to happen on HSAU+1, the year following the AU's main school year. It's around February+1, if so to speak.

Would You Stop Fucking Lying Already You Piece of Shit (affectionate)

Summary: Goro is stuck having to care for an unwell Jun for reasons beyond either of their comprehension. It gets weird.

“You’re a liar. A dirty fuckin’ liar.”

In response to his sharply accurate statement, all Goro gets is a loud sniffle.

“Do you even fuckin’ hear me?” He continues. “You’re a fuckin’ liar, Misugi.”

“You’re not the first to tell me.”

Absolutely infuriating.

“Remind me why in the hell do I have to babysit your lyin’ ass?”

“You actually don’t need to. I’m a grown adult.”

For fuck’s sake, he’s right. Goro doesn’t actually have to be here, he could just be exploding shit in his classroom, or in the lab, or in his kitchen. He could be having a nice day, now that his lessons for the day are over. Even attending Ann’s stupid-ass tea club sounds like a better idea, but there he is, having to keep guard over the smuggest bastard in the school.

“Unless you don’t want to disappoint Yayoi?”

As always, when one just points out his defaults, he attacks back. Why is he so good at it too? That’s nowhere near fair. Fuck this shit.

“You’re a coward and a liar.”

“You’re not proving me wrong.”

“Fuck you! There’s just nobody to do this except for me, so shut the fuck up!”

“Oh really?”

He tilts his head as he sits on his desk, a smug smirk on his lips. For once, they’d dried and ugly. (It’s not satisfying to notice. It itches under his skin).

“Your girlfriend’s busy and entrusted me with you. That’s all you need.”

“What about Hikaru?”

“You’re fucking with me? Is that how stupid you think I am?”

That takes Misugi off guard. Huh.

“What do you mean?”

“That guy’s on a class trip.” Goro deadpans hard enough to feel his own features set like concrete. “Y’know? He’s accompanying Fujisawa on the stupid yearly Euro Section trip to who knows where. I dunno, I didn’t listen to that part, I didn’t give a fuck. But I expected you to remember shit like that. Isn’t Bushy Eyebrows your best friend, dumbass?”

“It’s… uh…” His eyes fret around the place. “I forgot. I honestly forgot.”

He coughs into his elbow, the fabric unable to hide the sheer awfulness and wetness of it. It’s the sound equivalent of having to wash someone else’s cat, and the stupid thing is fighting back with its shitty claws and leaving hair in your hands and all over the bathroom – what was he thinking about already?

Right. Misugi being weird – well, weirder than usual.

“That doesn’t sound like you,” Goro comments with an oddly serious tone that feels… outside of himself. “You’re always bragging back against me. You’re the one idiot here who can’t shut it. The hell’s this shit?”

“It’s a simple moment of forgetfulness. Life can be tough on the memory, especially short-term.”

Despite the smile on his face, there is a sense of vertigo to the rest of his body. Goro prefers brushing it off and focus on what matters: showing this guy he shouldn’t be too prideful. He’s just too smug about it all, and a handsome-looking asshole, and Goro will use the babysitting session to his advantage.

“Y’know, you need to stop lying through your damn teeth, douchebag.”

Jun doesn’t smirk back.

“You sound half-hearted. What’s wrong, Goro?” Only then does he smile, brighter than before, eyes looking through him (literally). “Are you tired of playing?”

“Playing what? This ain’t a game of chess, fuckhead. We’re not on VirtuaChess, in case you didn’t realize.”

He’s starting to fully comprehend why Yayoi was so insistent on having someone keep an eye on her stupid boyfriend.

“I’ve always thought this was all a little dance routine for us.” He coughs again. “You don’t seem to see this way.”

“Get real.”

“I’m being honest.” He clears his throat. “We had that big conversation last year, didn’t we? About how we weren’t so different, that we actually didn’t dislike each other.”

“You’re oddly mellow.”

“I’m tired.”

“Oh, so you can do something else than lie! Good to know.”

The asshole chuckles, but even that sounds lame and lazy. It’s almost insulting.

“What would I even be lying about?”

“Your health, you fuckin’ moron.” He bites on his lip, disgusted about what he’s about to say. “I can’t have you dying on my hands when Yayoi entrusted you with me. I don’t know what’s going in her head, that sounds like a shitty idea.”

Jun’s gaze hardens, sharp like a knife’s blade. Or, it’d be, if his eyes weren’t so glassy today, and he’s all weak. Everything about him is weak today and Goro hates it to a point that he can’t even put into fucking words.

“It would be none of your business, to be fair.” He clears his throat again. “It’s only mine to worry about. You can leave, I won’t mind. Yayoi won’t mind.”

“You’re really expecting me to leave now?”

“What’d be the point of you staying here? You don’t want to be here.”

“Come on, asshole, you’re sick. I’m an asshole, but not to that point.”

“Oh. Well, with how stubborn you are, I suppose I’m not convincing you of the opposite for a while, if ever.” He gets up, lets the room tilt around him for a moment (or at least it seems so, otherwise he just unplugged his own brain for a second). “My head hurts and my joints feel like creaky wooden planks. That cough is running me up the wall. All I want is my girlfriend.”

Oh. Well then.

“Well fuck, didn’t expect you to cough it up.”

“You sound like you don’t quite know what you want in life, to be fair.”

“Fuck off.” Goro brushes his hands against his lab coat. “Now that you’ve said it out loud, it’s not like I can let you to die in a fire of your own making. I refuse to take accountability for your fucking death.”

Jun laughs – to a point where he coughs out a lung.

“You’re a fucking moron,” Goro lets out as he walks to the desk, accidentally keeping his workmate from nosediving right to the floor.

“Heh, thanks,” Jun croaks out. “You can be quite funny when you want to.”

“I’m not being funny, I’m pissed because you’re a fucking idiot that lies through his teeth.”

“That makes the two of us, then.”

Fed up, Goro slides the guy’s arm around his shoulders and brings him to his own examination table.

“I don’t think you have the necessary qualifications to diagnose me,” Jun continues to joke, voice going downhill because he has no damned preservation instinct.

“I think you should just shut the fuck up.”

He scans the room around for the one thing that may get him to shut up.

“The thermometer is inside the top drawer of that small table,” the local doctor points said table, a metallic pathetic little thing, with his finger.

“Tsk, you know that whole place by heart?”

“Of course I do. It’s where I work. It’s me who installed everything and placed all of my tools.”

Goro takes the thing out. It looks… ordinary.

“Oh, that’s the wrong thing. That’s a rectal thermometer.”

“Why do you have such a thing, you fuckin’ idiot?!”

“It was there when I arrived. I’ve never used it.”

“Why is there, then? Why the fuck would you keep shit you don’t use? Are you fucking dumb?”

“I don’t know, I guess it just wouldn’t be the same without it. It’s like an artefact of this school. Who am I to displace it?”

“The hell you’re going on about?” Goro takes out another thermometer. “That one?”

“Yes, that’s the – mmh?!”

The thing beeps soon enough.

“Can’t you have warned me ahead?!”

“Knowing you, you’d have tried getting out of this, asshole.” Goro looks at it. “39 degrees. You really are a moron.”

“You’ve been saying that for over a year.”

“Then stop being one! Can’t be that hard.”

He sighs yet smiles.

“Doctors being terrible patients is a well-known thing for a reason.”

“So shut up and let me handle this.”

Jun shrugs.

“I admit defeat. But let me try to tell you how you’re supposed to.”

Now I'm here, writing you in the language I repudied for taking you away.

It's 2007, I'm in my new house facing the computer after coming home from school. My goal, my only one goal, is to open YouTube and watch Naruto. It's only been two months since I consciously discovered anime (it would be a mistake to ignore that I grew up with Dragon Ball, Digimon, Pokemon, Captain Tsubasa, Yu-Gi-Oh! and a few others) and it has become an absolute obsession , the best escape route from the hell that awaits my teenage self outside the home in a small town that doesn't understand its mere existence.

Of course I didn't know that throughout the afternoon I would end up finding that old, dead social media that ended up leading me to you. United by a common obsession, you were next.

Today 17 years have passed since that afternoon. And shortly after you left with a promise that was never fulfilled. At first I tried to bury your memory deep inside me.

For a few years I thought you were gone forever, that I had already become immune to all you left behind with me.

But my desire to reconnect with anime has made me open that door and find you there, standing, holding the memory of that promise. A ghost with a blurry face and a sad smile. A thousand stories that we never told each other, and a lifetime of distance between us.

Imagine an alternate timeline where, somehow, Toei managed to keep producing the anime and either Bandai or Konami continued with the card game.

So the anime ends and instead of letting the franchise sleep, it continues with Toei. Instead of making spin-offs, they pull out a Captain Tsubasa/GeGeGe no Kitaro and simply decide to keep remaking the same story from the manga except they introduce the new card game mechanics.

Yeah, imagine Duelist Kingdom with the same focus GX had on Fusion monsters, or Battle City with Synchro and XYZ summons. Or the early Yugioh arcs remade to fit the Pendulum Summons. Or the Memory World arc shoeing in Link Summons somehow.

I look up, once again seeing that boy in the distance; his hair short, brown and matching his eyes perfectly, with a face so refined that it seemed to be carved with the greatest of care. A soft sigh escapes my lips, while a smile appears between my cheeks.

---Hello Jun ---I whisper, looking at the man with the same fascination with which I have seen since the first day.

We all greet each other with a friendly intonation. But... When I enter his house, I can feel a different... air.

I can feel like the air in the house barely circulates because the doors, windows and even the rooms were closed. I see how the workers in the house, the housekeeper, the cooks, they all acted... anxious.

They stammer when they talk, they drop various things due to too-recurring accidents. And when I felt the air was more familiar, I felt more... relaxed.

I was walking while holding a few plates in my hands; I see the silence there, maybe I should go outside with the others?

I finish accommodating things, and in an oversight, I see images of Jun at school. I take a couple of steps, and run my fingertips over the frame, the images are cute, and I see how Jun's smile only appears when... (Name) was close to him or around him. I can feel my smile fading as my eyes lock directly on that woman.

That normally active or even emotional look, I can see it turning into an expressionless, or even scared look. Slowly the jealousy subsides, and that's when I start to wonder.. Why did (Name) slowly drift away from everyone? What if...she was being bullied? I never thought to theorize why someone like her slowly stopped being her, to slowly be a shadow of who she was on her first day of school.

---Miss (Name)! Stop there! ---I listen in the distance.

A scream brings me back to my senses; I hear several footsteps of other people. I can hear struggles, an argument, and what stands out to me the most is... The sounds of someone looking to vomit.

---Curse! Why did they lock her in the only fucking place that she didn't have a bathroom?! --- Shouts a man, who could be heard as he knocked on a door.

--- Mr. Jun said that he had to be like this! ---Shouted someone else, in this case, a woman.

Curiosity to know what someone like (Name) was supposed to do in Jun's house in a peculiar way... she slowly killed me, and that's where I directly decided to know what she was supposed to happen.

I go to the stairs, climbing each step to learn more and more about this situation.

--- If Mr. Jun finds out that she needs a doctor... It won't end well --- Whispers the housekeeper, who looked as if she was beginning to lack air.

The man was still trying to force the door; he couldn't open it.

---Something wrong? ---I ask with a higher tone than normal, while my eyes scan the situation.

---Oh no...

I can see how they both freeze, starting to shake.

---Tell me, what happened? I thought hear blows ---I mention with innocence.

---N-It's okay, Miss Yayoi... Everything is fine! --- I listen to the woman, while she was approaching me --- Just walk me downstairs, I'm sure the others are...!

---Oh, and I thought I heard that they mentioned a certain "(Name)" ---I mention subtly, passing by the woman, approaching the man ---Is it a coincidence? Or does she sound like Jun's girlfriend?

I can see how they both panic, the man walks away from the bathroom door.

---Yayoi? ---I hear a sharp voice, but short, which sounded shaky.

---Hmm? Whose voice will it be? ---I ask quietly, diverting my gaze towards the door.

The woman stands in front of me, trying to remove me from the situation.

---I want to know who is behind the door --- I whisper with a smile between my lips.

They left me alone. For some reason, they refused to leave me alone with her, which gave me a very bad sign.

I demanded over and over again that they leave, and when they did, I could hear soft sobs coming from inside the bathroom.

---(Name)? ---I called.

I could hear her unlock the door, and open the door, but she just stuck her head out.

---Yayoi? she asked, sounding shy, on the verge of tears.

Before she could speak, she lunged at me, jumping up and grabbing her arms desperately behind me, almost as if she was the only thing she could do in her life.

--- Thank you, thank you, thank you... --- She whispered, trying to contain her emotions --- .., thank you very much, Yayoi.

Even when I tried to push myself away from her, I knew in that instant that she was having a horrible time of it.

I stroke her head, she was smaller than me, and I could see that it comforted her a little. Looking down, I see on her shoulders bite marks, hickeys, kisses, both recent and those that had been there for a while.

She separates a bit from me, and I could see it....

Her belly was swollen, her cheeks had traces of a viscous yellow liquid.

---You're....?

She lowers her head, which makes me even more uncomfortable.

--- Yes, I-I'm pregnant with Jun... --- She whispers, while her hands cover her abdomen --- A-She's barely a month old.

I can see that she was on the verge of tears, so I sensed that she was having a really hard time.

---Since when do you live with him? --- I ask, letting go of her head.

---Ha-A couple of months ago I think... I don't even remember when it was ---she whispers, trembling.

---How do you not even remember when? Also, why are you...? ---I was interrupted by her.

---Jun has me locked up, he kidnapped me a few days after I finished school ---She explains quickly ---I... I had decided to break up with him because he was too sick with me, he never let me get together with other people, He controlled me where I went, I couldn't even visit my family without him knowing.

I remain silent for a few seconds; I see how she was, how emaciated she looked, how pale she was due to lack of sun, and even the pain that reflected her gaze.

---(Name)... Why not....?

Quick footsteps stopped me from speaking further. (Name) she almost instantly realizes what happened, and she decides to push me into the bathroom and lock me in there, locking it.

The push had made me fall to the bathroom floor, when I got up and tried to knock on the door, I can hear her voice; from which she once was the person I loved.

---Dear! What happened? Are you OK? ---Jun spoke worried.

The mere fact of hearing his words made my heart skip a beat: This time not from emotion, but from the feeling that something horrible was about to happen.

--- Y-Yes, sweetheart --- He whispers (Name), she sounded nervous --- It's just that the room they left me in didn't have a bathroom.

---Oh really? ---He asked, surprised.

I could hear him kiss her, followed by how he talked.

---Do you want me to bring you something to eat? ---He asked affectionately ---, I can see how difficult "doing" is becoming for our son.

He laughed. I could feel for a minute an almost pure sensation of fear; Why was he acting so calm? Why did (Name) seem like she didn't want to reveal herself to him?

---W-Well, some food would be nice, sweetheart ---Whispers (Name).

---Perfect! I'll take you some when the guests are left outside ---He says, happy.

---Thank you... ---It was the only thing that (Name) whispered.

---For now, I'll take you to another room, okay? ---Explains Jun calmly.

---S-Sure, Jun.

I can hear the footsteps of both walking away from the place. I fell to the ground, feeling like even the food I had for breakfast wanted to come out of my throat; the unpleasant feeling that I was going to faint was… too strong.

But at least she was safe now so she could get out of here.

She thought that she could help (Name) in some way. Jun still did not have absolute power over her; she could still escape him.

Some knocking on the door wakes me up again.

I'm gonna say that i writte this one shot in Wattpad, but since I liked how it turned out, I wanted to see if you liked it, although I don't know if Captain Tsubasa is well known to people who speak English. Supernatural - Speaking of witnessing things live, I feel like you can understand my derangement much better by knowing that I watched this for THE WHOLE FIFTEEN YEARS AS IT AIRED. And then November 5th 2020 happened. And then that finale, and everything that followed. I would not recommend this to anyone (because I care about people's mental health), but I thank it for bringing me to Tumblr.

Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon S - Absolute core childhood memories all over the place, and even though it took me another lifetime to realize it, Haruka was totally my main queer awakening.

Star Trek - TNG - More, even earlier core childhood memories. I imprinted on Data like a very almost-certainly-but-never-diagnosed-neurodivergent duckling. And the whole thing made me forever feel like conflict should be resolved with intelligence, diplomacy, and respect for individuals and cultures.

The X-Files - Watching this as a teen unlocked my shipper gene in full force (and actually, obviously, taught me the word 'shipper' in the first place). Unfortunately, it evidently did not teach me to look out for shows that start out amazing and then devolve into an absolute trashfire (but hey, at least I never watched the revival).

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis - One of my main fandom experiences, back in the LiveJournal days. (In retrospect, my giant crush on John Sheppard, a man who would rather jump out of a window than face a serious personal moment or talk about his feelings, was a pretty big personal-life red flag.)

Honestly, just pick a random bunch of the anime series that were airing in Italy in the late '80s and early '90s, throw them into a blender, and you'll get at least half of the underlying structure of my brain. Let's make it clear that OP is indeed complaining about something pretty stupid. After all, as you pointed out, they are fanfics and the logic with which the fic runs depends on each writer. Whether they want to be historically accurate or not is up to them.

Now, encanto, what I question is your claim that Atem learned something while he was locked up. As if it were a canonical fact that is written in Kazuki Takahashi's manga. Something that doesn't happen.

After all, the last few sagas revolve around the fact that Yami doesn't remember ANYTHING. Not even the time he was locked up. And that's because of Zorc, because there was a piece of him locked up with Atem. So, following the logic of the manga, it is impossible for Atem's spirit to know ANY language, beyond the ones he learns through Yugi's memories. The reason why Yami speaks Japanese. So if he knew any other language(something very likely because, historically, there is a history of Pharaohs interacting politically with foreigners), it's irrelevant because he doesn't remember them. Hence my comment that I most likely have had to learn it again today.

Regarding your first question, which felt quite sarcastic, if questioned. It is exactly the reason why there are fanfics or posts that add more cultural or linguistic diversity. Ygo is not the only one who errs on the side of not adding more linguistic or phonetic diversity when other cultures are added. Series like Inazuma Eleven and Captain Tsubasa sin a lot in that sense. They are animes focused on soccer and have World Cups in their plots. And guess something? Everyone in those Cups speaks Japanese as if it were their first language. Characters from England, Brazil, Italy, Argentina or Germany appear but none of them speak their native language. And that is because they are series focused on football and the lives of the characters and not on cultural accuracy. And this even happens in Dragon Ball by making ALL the aliens from different universes speak a single language. (This is a point in favor of fanfics because they make interactions more interesting by seeing different customs or dialects.)
