💤 A headcanon about their sleep

heather is a light sleeper, always has been even before losing her parents & entire village to dagur (ik she's dagur's sister & a berserker but they're not the ones who raised her, u know?)

however even then she doesn't have a lot of nightmares but only bc she's such a light sleeper/struggles sleeping

one of the only times she had truly slept well was when she stayed in astrid's hut & then a few times of her falling asleep in fishlegs' hut & garden when she spent time with him (he's very good for resting your head on)

How rare is this Coraline Blu-Ray?

Merry Christmas!!!! This morning I got to unwrap a 2009 Coraline Blu-Ray that we bought from a second hand store. Not only is the MENU SUUUUUPER ELABORATE but it also has some features included on the disc that just SCREAM 2009 software that I don't even think they do anymore? Check it out.

(Sorry for the bad photo quality of the screen. It says "U-Control" and something about Picture-in-picture animatic sequences and such. I'll have to check that out. )

& without the sleeve, it looks identical to a normal Coraline Blu-Ray. Did I mention that the contents of this Blu-ray are really, really weird? Did you know you could control a Blu-Ray menu with a Playstation 3 controller? I certainly didn't. I don't own a Playstation. probably my favorite outdated interface is how you could bookmark certain scenes with the press of a button, thus creating a shortcut to said scene that you can view at any time. And if you hook up your Blu-Ray to the internet somehow, you can livestream said bookmarked scenes with your friends on something called "bd live"???? (When I selected that option it said "coming soon" and, well, it's been 13 years so I guess they've since discontinued it.) ALSO, I found a video showcasing an almost identical menu. Apparently it's the 3D version of the movie, which is extremely rare nowadays. Definitely an artifact of times far behind.

Grinch variants

We're all familiar with the Grinch, the reclusive, mountain-dwelling Christmas-despising critter. What's a much lesser known fact are the several sub-species of holiday-hating hooligans. The Grunch, for example, hides in the cabinet under your sink and drinks all your dish soap at the most inconvenient hour possible. Like after all the house guests have left after Christmas dinner.

A Gronch is perhaps the most unusual of the bunch. Residing in the harshest winter environments, this rather stupid creature prowls the countryside scavenging elk carcasses and searching for a potential boxing partner. Do not engage. it always wins. In sharp contrast, the Grench is a social butterfly. Often gravitating towards large, noisy gatherings of adolescence. it seems to exhibit a surprisingly large vocabulary of punk band names. And while Grinch-kind fur is naturally a hearty pistachio green, the Grench has developed an interest in hair dye.
