Sure, everyone CAN read capslock or lapselock, but they read it more slowly and with less comprehnsion. There are whole fields of experts in usability/web design, technical communication, and marketing who've studied how people read in English to figure this stuff out.
There are lots of studies about capslock text in particular because it's a common mistake. People read on average 13%-20% slower AND with lowered reading comprehension. The longer the passage, the bigger the problem. So it's one thing to put a word or a sentence in capslock, or write a poem in lapselock (hello e.e.cummings I'm looking at you), and another to write an entire story.
If you don't use normal case and capitalization, you're taking away all the signposts readers use to process text efficiently. Letter shape helps us identify words faster (all-caps letters have very similar shapes, lower-case are more differentiated). Capital letters signal where a new sentence begins, and puncuation helps readers find phrases. Leaving out text elements that help us comprehend text doesn't make something impossible to read, but readers have to use more energy and focus to make sense of it.
Anyway, don't make things harder for your readers for no reason if you want them to read your stuff. It's not really snobbish or unfair of a reader to decide they don't want to expend 20% extra effort to have the same amount of story enjoyment as if they just picked a story that's more readable.

a fine new crop of blaze ads coming in, had a poem yesterday, and today a full reader/character fic ( no readmore) and a deranged capslock rant. i kinda love the extra flavour this brings to my dash. also i want to study some ppl like bugs wrt what they decide to blaze lmao. like the capslock was absolutely tailored to tumblr, the poem i respect as a perhaps foolish but nonetheless brave choice, but the fic post i have questions about

:( so the guy who wrote the poems the cats musical was based on rushed into a troubled marriage, which he lowkey touches upon in a poem my prof was lecturing on
and like everyone in the class gc was like "ugh boomer husband strikes again!! demonizing his wife as a neurotic bitch so he can ignore her"
but like :[ my prof literally just spent the first part of the lecture telling us about the couple's struggles w mental, physical, and psychosomatic health... the guy was struggling so much w his mental health that he quit his job and checked himself into a psychiatric ward in switzerland... not to mention the wife read over, edited, and approved of the poem... (she wrote "WONDERFUL" in giant capslock down the margin lmao)
like i don't think he was ok, i don't think she was ok either, and i think they were both aware of it... nuance is okay sometimes please :(
#chelle.txt#wanted to complain about this to my roommate but she's on a call :')#feel kind of bad for ts eliot and his wife :(

Semi-review: Robots vs. Fairies
Rather than reading this whole book, I chose to read just the stories written by authors I already know and like, which was such an enjoyable experience it might have to be my new way of treating anthologies.
So here are the three stories I read:
Build Me a Wonderland by Seanan McGuire
Read because: I liked Every Heart a Doorway and her story in Hath No Fury.
This story was: Really fun! It's about engineer fairies who are secretly using the theme park they work at as a cover story for the fact that it actually really is full of magical creatures. This was much lighter than the other Seanan McGuire stories I've read and I loved it, which makes me think I should check out some of her lighter novels.
Ostentation of Peacocks by Delilah S. Dawson aka Lila Bowen
Read because: I read an arc of Kill The Farm Boy and loved it so much.
This story was: Very cool and beautifully written. This magical Old West setting has a lone shapeshifter face down wicked fairies in four competitions to save a life. I'm missing some of the context for this one, but it was wonderful anyway. It absolutely worked to hook me in this world, I want to read Wake of Vultures now!
A Fall Counts Anywhere by Catherynne M. Valente
Read because: I have loved EVERYTHING I've ever read by Catherynne M. Valente. Her fairyland books, Six-Gun Snow White, various short stories and poems, and the essays on writing from her patreon. They're all mesmerizing.
This story was: Just as amazing as everything mentioned above. It has the humor (and capslock) I haven't seen outside her exclusive writing advice essays in the robot dialogue, and the mesmerizing language and imagery in the fairy dialogue. Not to mention that only Catherynne M. Valente would literally write fairies and robots throwing down in a wrestling ring, AND somehow turn that into a wider view of the alternative history of earth she's created for this story, AND end it in a beautifully unexpected and fiery way. I love this, I love her, and I love these fairies and robots.

This seems like a good time to post the fragment of Kipling's "Tommy" that I've managed to update for modern conditions. It's not and probably never will be a whole poem, but to be honest the two stanzas I've got are probably all the joke is worth anyway.
I went into a media feed to make some matters clear, the CEO he up and sez, "we serve no blackshirts here". His followers retweeted him and CAPSLOCKED fit to die; I outs into my private list, and to my friends sez I: Oh, it's "Nazi this, an' Nazi that - deplatform him, the brute!" but it's "Thank you, Mr Azov", when the guns begin to shoot. The guns begin to shoot, my boys, the guns begin to shoot; it's "Thank you, Mr Azov" when the guns begin to shoot!
I posted on a Facebook page as tactful as could be they gave a tankie bluecheck room, but hadn't none for me; They sent me round the VPNs or moderation queue; but when it comes to fightin', Lord, they'll put me in preview! For it's "Nazi this, an' Nazi that, and Nazi, do stand by", but it's "thin black line of heroes" when the shells begin to fly. The shells begin to fly, my boys, the shells begin to fly; it's "thin black line of heroes" when the shells begin to fly.

14, 22 and 29!!
send me questions !!
14: Do you prefer to read poetry, write poetry, or neither?
both ?? i absolutely adore reading poetry (all the kinds: traditional, haiku, new age, freeform - i love it all) but i also love writing it ?? literally, ask me for my favorite poems and i will compile an entire list for you. i also love sharing my poetry with people ?? itās, like, a deep way to connect with others when spoken words just donāt quiteā¦ need to be spoken ??
22: Would you like to meet any of your Tumblr friends in person?
oh definitely. iāve been a part of a few different fandoms and iāve met a few of my tumblr friends in person and it was amazing, and iād love to meet more of them. itās justā¦ less screaming at each other in capslock and more screaming at each other in real life. lol.
29: What is a strange talent that you have?
i have burnt every single piece of toast that i have ever tried to make. every. single. piece. no survivors.
#leo answers#delacouvr#the toast thing though#its really embarrassing??#also i've given up on trying to eat toast now#which is probably good because i can't eat gluten#lol

5k Survey XLIX
2501. what image, scent, memory, etc. would you take with you into the dark/light, the land of dead, heaven, infinity.....? >> Iām not sure how to answer this. 2502. Who is the most annoying musical artist EVER? >> --- 2503. If you HAD to go to one of the following concerts, which would it be: Snow Vanilla Ice NKOTB Milli Vanilli BSB NSYNC >> No, thank you. 2504. Do you believe in manifest destiny? >> Just that very question insults me, lmao. Sorry, no, Iām not an arrogant imperialist who labours under the delusion that every piece of land I happen to set foot on belongs to me. 2505. Have you ever fallen for an email forwarding hoax (send this to 13 people and old navy will send you a $200.00(100 pound) gift card)? Do you ever think 'well, maybe...' and actually forward those damn things? >> I have not.
2506. Let's say there are 2 schools. one for boys and one for girls. They are both supposed to offer the same facilities so that the girls and boys get equal education. Would you take this to mean that the same courses should be offered to both girls and boys or that the same amount of money should be spent on each school? >> Why are the schools segregated in the first place? That doesnāt make any sense to me and it never did. Imagine that in the boys school fifteen boys sign up for calculus. In the girls school only five girls sign up for calculus. Should the girls calculus class be disolved and replaced with an easir one? >> Of course not. Why deprive those five girls of the class they want to take, just because thereās only five of them? Also, thereās... thereās a lot to unpack about this entire scenario and the implicit sexism involved but I think Iād rather just throw the whole damn suitcase away. Next. 2507. Would it bother you if you found out that the fruits, vegetables, and meat that you eat is genetically altered (in lots of cases it is!)? >> Of course much of the food I eat has been genetically altered in some way, either by centuries of selective breeding or perhaps by some newfangled modern practice. I donāt see why this should automatically disturb me. What does disturb me is corporations like Monsanto blatantly using this power for evil. 2508. What does this world need? >> --- 2509. Is there anything you do just because you want to even though it has no redeeming social value? >> Itād be fucked up for me to measure everything I do by its perceivedĀ āsocial valueā. What does that even mean, anyway?Ā 2510. If you drink what kind of drunk are you? >> I donāt drink enough to get drunk anymore, so I canāt really say. Iām probably just a sleepy, lazy drunk at this point. 2511, Do you ever 'convieniently' forget something you don't want to remember? >> I donāt think my brain works that way. 2512. If you have any cousins are you close? >> --- 2513. Are you in love with yourself (your beautiful self)? >> I am not in love with myself. That seems like an odd relationship for me to have with myself. 2514. What was the first movie you got on dvd? >> --- 2515. If you're sexy and you know it clap your hands. Did you clap? >> I did not clap, because like... why. 2516. have you ever called a: psychic hotline? suicide crisis line? sex line? dating line? >> Iāve called none of these. 2517. have you ever placed a personal ad anywhere? >> Maybe on Craigslist once. 2518. Do guys look good in make up? >> I donāt care about how people look in make-up, I care about whether they enjoy wearing makeup and whether it makes them feel good. If thatās true, then I love it. 2519. What are 5 things you don't care about? >> I canāt think of anything right now. Probably because the fact that I donāt care about something means I donāt think about it... 2520. wHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO UNTIL YOU DIE? >> Why is this in caps? Iām assuming itās a capslock error, but like... why wasnāt it fixed, lol. 2521. What 'issue' do you think your opinion is so right about that you end up trying to sway others to your point of view? >> I donāt do that. 2522. What age do you hope to live until? >> I donāt have a specific age in mind. I just want to live to the point where I feel like death isnāt an intrusion on my living -- where it makes sense to die. 2523. Do you like to tie others down during sex?Ā Have you ever been tied down? >> Iāve never done either, but Iām sure itād be fun with the right person, if having sex with an outworld person was ever a thing I was going to do again. 2524. Do you own any "toys"?Ā Do you ever use them? >> No. 2525. Have you ever been spanked in that sexy way?Ā Have you ever spanked anyone else? >> I was spanked at at least one play party, but I didnāt particularly enjoy it. Itās not really my thing, although Iām sure spanking someone else would be way more fun. Havenāt done it yet, though. 2526. Do these questions make you uncomfortable?Ā Do you like that feeling?Ā Does it turn you on? >> It never occurred to me to feel uncomfortable, no. 2527. You know those ___ for dummies books (COMPTERS FOR DUMMIES, SURFING FOR DUMMIES, GOLDF FOR DUMMIES, WICCA FOR DUMMIES)?Ā Which one do you need to reaad? >> I do know those books. I donāt know which one Iād read, though. 2528. What do your socks look like? >> Iām not wearing socks. 2529. Which of these really famous music artists started their career as a mime: Alice Cooper David Bowie Bruce Springsteen Moby Jewel Frank Zappa >> Iām sure Iād find out if I googled it, but I donāt care to. 2530. Does love float away if you let go? >> What does this even mean... 2531. Do you think that most people in today's society are: kind?Ā calm?Ā humble?Ā peaceful?Ā helpful?Ā happy?Ā spiritual?Ā creative?Ā friendly?Ā independant?Ā intelligent?Ā having fun?Ā comming up with new ideas?Ā able to think for themselves?Ā able to really connect with others? If you answered no to any of the above, why do you think that is? >> Why am I generalising aboutĀ āmost peopleā? That seems like a silly thing to do. 2532. Do you believe that every action has a sexual motive (think Freud)? >> No. Pretty sure that theory of his was debunked anyway, because it just doesnāt make any real sense. 2533. Speaking of Freud, did you know he was on drugs (think cocaine)? >> I was vaguely aware. I mean, a lot of people have taken and do take drugs, big deal. 2534. Do you trust psychology as a valid science? >> I acknowledge that itāsĀ a science. However, I also harbour a lot of skepticism about some of the stuff that is either explicitly or implicitly stated in many psychological theories, and I am particularly skeptical about how psychological theories are applied to actual interactions with and diagnoses of clients. 2535. ID: In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is totally unconscious and serves as the source of instinctual impulses and demands for immediate satisfaction of primitive needs(sex, food, agressive behavior, drugs, alcohol, yelling, anger, fighting). SUPEREGO: In Freudian theory, the division of the unconscious that is formed through the internalization of moral standards of parents and society, and that censors and restrains the ego. So, which one do you express more, your ID or your SUPEREGO? >> The superego. I mean, you really donāt get very far by just letting your id run wild.Ā 2536. Do you think that people who are alone and depressed are depressed because they are alone or alone because they are depressed? >> I think itās a feedback loop.Ā 2537. Can you complete any of the following lyrics: I stop and I stare too much, afraid that I care too much... You're a new and better man, he helps youtounderstand,He does everything he can, he's.... Took the needles from my arms and put them to the sky... Top Gun shut down your Firm like Tom Cruise.... Don't you take it so hard now, And please don't take it so bad.... Iāll still be thinking of you, and the times we had. Thatās the only one in this list I know. 2538. How about these? From around the way, born in '73, Harcore B-boy named... And this feeling shivers down your spine, Love comes in colors I can't deny.... Before he hung up the phone he took a deep breath, stopped, and replied.... When I want you in my arms, when I want you and all your charms, whenever I want you all I have to do is... Silly games that you were playing, empty words we both were saying... 2539. Have you ever been to see a ballet? >> I havenāt, but Iād like to. 2540. What is the differance between Satan and Pan? >> Theyāre from completely different mythologies, for one, despite the fact that they often get conflated. 2541. What should a poem be or do if it is a sucessful poem? >> Thereās no such thing as aĀ āsuccessfulā poem, to me. Thatās an odd way to think of poetry. A poem is a poem if itās written down as such, and thatās it. 2542. When you interpret a poem can each line mean anything you want it to? >> Well, sure, isnāt that what happens when you read something? You interpret it through your own lens. Thatās unavoidable. 2543. Are you an orgasm addict? >> Er, no. 2544. Are you a sugar junkie? >> No. 2545. WHAT are you DOING?Ā WHY aren't you marching in line with the rest of them? >> --- 2546.Ā Do you only hear what you want to? >> I mean, I just hear whatever my brain interprets sound waves as. 2547. Are you anal-retentive? >> Er, no? 2548. In and Out Over and Under Around and ??? >> ?????? 2549. What was the last thing you returned to the store? >> I havenāt returned anything to the store in years. 2550. Why ask why? >> Because?

2017.03.12 - this is a new blog
so yesterday was the day when i was proven dumb and the dumbest on earth. i was intending to delete one of my sideblogs because i thought i had too many of them that i didnāt really use and i went to the setting, clickedĀ ādelete accountā, and for a second i thoughtĀ āisnāt it the right button?ā but i clicked it anyway and the next second, my account was gone. along with all of my blogs. not one of my sideblog but ALL THE 10 BLOGS THAT I HAD.
holymotherfu. i tried to stay calm the shit down, e-mailed tumblr right away, asked in capslockĀ āPLEASE HELP ME GET MY ACCOUNT BACKā to show how desperate i was, but half an hour later (what a fast service) they replied my e-mail with aĀ āweāre really sorryā. my heart sank.
but... well... even when i was writing my issue, i knew right then that it was impossible to restore deleted accounts. but with the little hopes and trust on the internet, that maybe anything canāt be actually deleted on the internet because they have--i donāt know--something like server or anything that works like recycle bin, i tried to find a way anyway. but even tumblr staff canāt do anything. it was my fault. i lost everything that i thought was safe in my blogs--every picture and story and quote--because i. was. so. dumb. i. should. have. googled. how. to. delete. a sideblog. before. risking. my. precious. account.Ā i was so mad at myself but thereās nothing i can do either... tumblr staff suggested that i could create a new account and use the same web address for my new blogs as long as no one has claimed the address... so here you are now. youāre currently viewing the same blog that you probably read twenty hours ago, because itās still pyeonijeom.tumblr.com here, but you will never find my old entries anymore. the stories, the drabbles, the moodboards, the pretty poems and quotes, they all are gone. and i didnāt save them in any other place, not even on onenote where i can save anything, so they just vanished. poof. gone forever.
on the bright side, my blogs are more organized now. and prettier. the contents are more distinct from each other, and i think maybe God was so done with my whining over messy feeds and contents that He eventually led me to delete them by myself. itās still an accident in a way, but it was still something i would do to get rid of something that annoy me, because at some extent i could be impulsively that extreme, so iām okay now. iām fine. i can move on with my new blogs and iām determined to use them more effectively--so there wonāt be any thought of wanting them deleted.
check the other blogs later when iām done editing them. iāll put the links on the sidebar.
cheer up. let the bygone be bygone. itās just a blog anyway.
