Capitol Records was never known for soul music, but they made a strong push into the genre in 1968-1969, hiring some of the tightest horn sections available.

Friday, November 1: Megadeth, "Poison Was the Cure"
R.I.P. Nick Menza (1964-2016)
Rust in Peace was the right album at the right time, and was deservedly hailed as a thrash masterpiece upon its release in 1990.  Nearly 35 years later, what continues to stand out is that the record presented the best of all worlds for Megadeth: there was the staggering balance of precision and fury, but the gonzo snark and ridiculousness also remained in full force, and “Poison Was the Cure” contained all of that in one setting.  Over time, Dave Mustaine came to recognize and appreciate Nick Menza as the band’s secret weapon, as he delivered momentum, groove and crazy in equal measure, and Mustaine used this to maximum effect alongside his trademark jittery and spidery riffing.  And of course everything was delivered with a smirk, which might’ve otherwise been insufferable (as it would be on later Megadeth releases) were it not for the sheer majesty of the playing alongside the bulldozer force of the group’s chemistry.
