This series felt more of an accidental metaphor for capitalism than anything else. But the thing that’s going to be keeping me up at night for a while is how even when given the power to remake the world in whatever way he wanted to, Evbo was still not able to imagine a world without parkour.

This world was all he’s ever known and even when trying to make it better he doesn’t think such a thing as solid ground can exist.

Ah. So if you give to charity, but you don't earn enough to pay taxes, you don't get any of that 'back' - because you pay nothing to deduct it from. So.... if you can't afford to give to charity regularly, you really shouldn't do that. 😂

I know this all probably seems... obvious. But given I haven't had stable work for a long time I'm still figuring these things out 😩

2023 in review! I made an effort to try more things and it worked mostly (at least for TV and movies). New things, new-to-me things, and new installments of old things all had characters to love even if I didn't necessarily feel fannish about them, and I'm hoping 2024 does, too.

I think it's really ironic (stupid) that the generations that preceded us say they want to make a better world and when they have the opportunity to make the world better (better healthcare, housing, less work in general) they work their ass off to make sure that doesn't happen.

Just applied for a summer childcare position (like for a camp type thing) that pays 20–28 dollars an hour based on qualifications (I should be towards the end of that scale because I work in a school; and the only requirement the job lists is to be 16 and have experience with children). So hopefully they’ll consider me. That would be wonderful.
