Back in August, I got this for my birthday. I finally had the desire and space needed at the same time. Second photo has a puck light behind the shield.

i will never understand people who are team iron man in civil war because it is LITERALLY a captain america movie. you are supposed to sympathize with tony stark and the world governments, and understand that yes, reform is needed (which steve UNDERSTANDS and agrees with), but also understand that what they’re enacting is morally wrong. the sokovia accords (much like the mutant registration act in x-men 2000) require the registration AND tracking of all enhanced individuals as well as agreeing to prison without trial should the government decide it necessary (they go into detail about the legislation in the sokovia accords in agents of shield, which, yes, is technically no longer canon, but this aired long before it moves off track of the main marvel timeline, when it was still following canon post winter soldier movie). it strips all inhumans, mutants, people who have been experimented on (all of which is out of these people’s control) of quite literally all of their constitutional rights. tony stark is not in the right just because steve didn’t tell him about his parents. the politics of the movie are so deep please use your critical thinking skills

y'know it's always funny when people start arguing about who was right in civil war bc like. Even with just the movie Tony and the pro-accords crowd has no ideological leg to stand on, the only reason we have to at all root for him is that Bucky killed his parents, but then you throw in Agents of Shield? You throw in everything about that third season leading up to Civil War?
It's kinda painfully obvious that the sokovia accords weren't even *really* about the Avengers, but rather the incident in Lagos was just a convenient excuse to subjugate the growing Inhuman population under the guise of "cracking down on the avengers".
The only people we ever see affected by the sokovia accords are A: members of the Avengers, and B: Inhumans. If you're not an Inhuman or an Avenger, you straight up don't have to register. Spider-Man, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, all are heroes that exist in the public eye. Sure, Spider-Man hasn't revealed his identity, but he's still known about as a superhero unlike Iron Fist or Cloak and Dagger.
All this to say, simply having powers doesn't mean you have to register, it's only if you're an Inhuman. The sokovia accords specifically, intentionally target Inhumans, and with that in mind there's not even a slight bit of moral ambiguity in Civil War, Tony is just completely clearly in the wrong.
That's not to say Steve gives a fuck about Inhumans either, he never even brings them up in the movie so he clearly doesn't, but he at the very least accidentally stumbled his way into the morally correct position. There's probably some kind of political commentary to be made there, but idk.
Point is, fuck team tony lmao

I hate when a show/movie is trying to show that like “we’re stronger together than we are apart!” so they have to write in conflict for the characters and make them all be mean to each other and all it does is pit everyone in the fandom against each other, and then the characters forgive each other and learn lessons about friendship, and the fandom is still on fire and never quite the same

how many cycles of trauma and suffering does it take to get to the center of a silly little anvil guy (the answer might surprise you)
#generation loss#genloss#gl vinny#vinesauce#zarted#id in the alt text#sure ill maintag this cause its laser focused on This Guy in particular#i didnt take great pains or in fact any pains to correlate how the real guy looked at whatever age to this here timeline#i just vaguely remembered davys grey vinny and worked backwards from there#+ obvs took cues from some of his more recognizable looks#a nod to his iconic question block cap and the vinesauce hoodie in the wardrobe progression#the progression of costuming is based on the notion that showfall slots its characters into archetypes#and as archetypes theyve all got highly recognizable Looks#so as one person evolves into that archetype their personal style gets whittled away and replaced with a recognizable Default Wardrobe#so at first he gets tagged with the Color Green. then layering. then the hat. and so on#yes ive overthought a very specific type of progression that is in all likelihood not anything that actually happened in canon#but we dont have evidence it DIDNT happen so you know#im just enamored w the idea of gl vinny being drenched in apathy because hes been there so long#everyone else on the carousel is in their 20s and ranboo is 19. and vinny is 38#i have to imagine hes Been There A While#and hes so rotted through from desensitization that he cannot bring himself to care anymore#and underneath that i suspect theres an undercurrent of 'i should shield these people who are so much younger'#but in the end youre trapped and theyre trapped and the suffering is so important to the people who have trapped you#and how much can you shield them from really?#dont get obsessed with the silly little anvil guy from generation loss worst mistake of my life

So, I'm watching Agents of Shield for the first time in my life, and there are two characters talking about needing to pick out a superhero name. During this conversation, one of them says this -
"Have you ever heard of Steve Rogers? No. But Captain America, now, he's on the news and a lunch box and a poster on the wall."
And holy fuck, what?
This guy is a war hero, he saved New York, and by extension the world, twice at this point and people don't know his real name?
He's had comics and movies and documentaries and fucking trading cards made with his face and people don't know his name?
You're telling me he woke up after decades into a world he doesn't know, a world he doesn't understand, a world where everyone he's ever loved is either dead or doesn't remember him, a world where people think he's something he isn't and they don't even remember his name?
This really makes the analysis I did of Steve's Avengers 1 costume even sadder, and it's the nail in the coffin for what I always say - the modern world Steve wakes up into needs Captain America, but they could not care less about him.
