Hello I just recently found your blog and art. What is your opinion on sharing? I like to ship my ocs both with Hibari and Tsuna that’s why?

Hi Anon! Welcome to my humble abode 💜✨ though activity is a bit inconsistent right now.

For my sharing preferences, it would be selective sharing for the following characters: Hibari, Tsuna, Reborn and Giotto (any other character is free real estate). I'm ok with "sharing", but when I do interact with others who ship with those same characters, I'd prefer to talk about the OCs themselves or maybe even focus any alt pairings their OC has (if I can't give support for this one pairing, i'll do my best to support if you give me a different pairing to gush on. prefs aside, I'm a shipping enthusiast😈🤭💖).

Overall, I love supporting people's OCs (and their CanonxOC ships) when I can. It's just that I'd really like to keep it genuine, so it has to be within my own comfort and without sacrificing my own enjoyment/preferences. I do my best to respect other people's sharing prefs as well (it goes both ways!).

BUT! I'm more lax about this when "selfshipping" is involved. Real people are involved by then, esp my friends, so my brain kind of shifts to a different mode. If it's just plain fangirling over these characters with other people, such a thing is very fun to me🤣🥰🫶

Greetings and salutations! My name is Liana and I am 29 years old, female and I am DESPERATE for an RP partner. I’ve been RP-ing for over fifteen years now and there are still so many plots and ideas that I haven’t played out yet. And I’m sure if you’re searching for an RP partner it’s the same case with you. So I’m just gonna go ahead and list a few fandoms I would LOVE to dive into. But before that a few things to keep in mind:

• I only do mxf where I can play either the male or the female.

• Long-Term RP partners only! And please don’t just message me and disappear.

• I can play most characters asked of me. Though you might have to give me a couple of days to get into that character’s headspace.

• Communication is KEY! We have to keep that channel open. Saying that please don’t be pushy when it comes to plots you would like done. If I’m not comfortable with it I’ll say so. And if you’re not comfortable with a plot then tell me so that we can work our way around it.

• Expect me to rant, fangirl and scream over canon pairings and OC x canon pairings. But then you are more then welcome to do the same as well! :D

• Doubling isn’t a definite must. But I don’t want to be stuck with just playing the male character. I would prefer that we each pick out a fandom the other is familiar with and we each play one canon and oc or canon and canon, whatever fits best!

• Since I am over 18 NSFW content will be in the plot line though not the main focus. Unless the plot calls for it. Please do NOT contact me if you only wish to write smut.

• I can go from romance to adventure. Angst to fluff. And everything else in between!

Being given another chance at life once more, his soul and body fully restored again; the man returns back to his old habits. Though lately, he's been crossing paths with a florist. On a small whim, he makes a bet with her; little did he know he would be in for the ride of his newfound given life. Or perhaps one of God's best jokes has gone on longer than it should...

Author's Note: Because I always feel inspired by @oreo-creampies and many other authors who write for JJK X reader, I decided to upload something of my own that I've only shared with a few close friends ✨️♥️ Its a collection of drabbles that l've made for a canonxoc couple ☺️ and I think you guys might enjoy it. Each drabble will be a reference to a plant, herb, or flower; I'll try to write in order of the events. But we may jump around in no particular pattern. Some of these may even be aus. Now, let's get started

The first and only time Toji ever felt fear was being thrown into that darken room in the Zen'in compound. The second time, he would only admit this to himself, is when his eyes open, slowly adjusting to the filtered light of the abandoned temple...Alive. He's alive again...

"-Aaaaaaaaand coming in third place is boat number 2!" A grumble of Japanese and the crinkle of paper being tossed. The stench of cigarette smoke, body odor, arousal, whiskey; delicious and enticing aromas for a normal, average man in a bar. It would have enticed him, too, minus the whiskey. And yet, the dark-haired man didn't find it as stimulating during his last two lives.

Then again, he doesn't really count his second revival as a "life"; he only recalled the small conversation he had with Megumi before stabbing himself in the head. Since he's been alive, his life has returned to his routine as it was in his first one; taking bounties, gambling, meanless sex that made him feel more used and hollow. Wandering from woman to woman...The same thing that's familiar to him.

Until he smelled her. Something foral, feminine, sweet, and warm; each time, he tried searching for the woman with the pretty scent. His thin brows furrowed down and moss eyes narrowed in mild agitation as he scanned the people in the bar...There she stood.

She wore a form-fitting outfit consisting of a cream-colored, off-the-shoulder sweater with long sleeves and a high-waisted, pale pink skirt that extends down to the ankles that were wrapped in pink silk and matching heels. Her sweater has a textured cable-knit pattern, and the skirt has a smooth appearance. Though the first two things that caught his attention: the long waves of chestnut hair that reached past her derriere and her loud and boisterous voice. Why someone like her was in a seedy place like this bar is beyond him (he was half tempted to assume she was there to find some fun) but seeing her play darts, pool, and cards; always laughing and cheering on the patrons who crowded around her.

It's then and only then did he finally get to see her face, his breath caught in his throat for a bit. Toji likened himself to have met many pretty faces and she was no different. Except for her eyes, a beautiful golden hazel color. Warm...inviting...compassionate...A flower within the bleak and cruel world. She cheers happily, her buxom body boucing for joy as she won another round of pool. Flashing a smile at the other man, she chuckles sweetly.

He pressed the cigarette to his lips, taking a slow inhale. Quite a loud and oblivious little thing she is, perhaps foolish. Scoffing lightly, he returns his gaze to the television. Ignoring when he senses another woman latch herself to him.

"Haha, that was so much fun!" Her voice has an accent, not American, it sounded...German? Probably. "Oh don't pout~ Next time, you can take me out on a date if you win. Danke, for the drinks though!" She gives the unfortunate man an airy kiss, beaming as she grabs her purse. Then her form moves with grace as she hurried her little self out the bar, heels click clacking as she escapes. Completely unware Toji's nonchalant gaze following her.

"Hey handsome~!" Hah...And here comes this cycle again...

"Hey doll."

He enjoys the routine. Nothing but good fun.

But lately, it just feels...

Empty.

And yet that small glimpse of the golden eyed woman...

He's smirking down at the other pretty lady who's blushing up at him.

Maybe next time I'll talk to her...

"Sonnenblume, I'm home~!" The buxom brunette enters her house, removing her heels and sliding her feet into the house slippers. Smiling until she sighs lightly. "Oh that's right, she's away-"

"I'm right here." The woman nearly jumps, whirling around to face her daughter, her head tilted up and hands on her hips as her foot taps. "I've told you not to do that! Seriously, how are you so quiet?"

The taller female chuckles lowly, her plush lips pulled into a smirk. "Entschuldigung, Mama. I can't help it." Finally the other woman stalks forward, towering over her mother. The brunette sighs, her smile returning.

"Whatever am I going to do with you?"

"Don't be like that."

"Then yoooou stop scaring me, I'm still young." Her daughter merely rolls her eyes playfully. Then those glowing crimson eyes observe her mom, blue brows narrowing a little at the stench that clung to her. She refrains from saying anything. She knows that her mom can take care of herself.

For now. Until it's appropriate to ask.

Straightening up, she follows Cheryl into the kitchen, her own voluptuous form leaning against the counter. Lean, muscular arms crossed under her bosom as she watched her make some tea. "Are you sure you'll be fine alone? I can stick around longer..."

"Nein, nein," the brunette waves her hand, "Your education is important. So don't worry about me, ja? I'll be fine." Those ruby hues were turning glacial. "Sonnenblume, I'm meant what I said. Don't try to change my mind."

Her daughter merely huffs lightly. The head ultramarine blue looks away. "Fine. But...Just call or text me, I'll be there." Cheryl hums softly, lifting the cup to her lips and takes a sip. Its strange. Lately it feels like she's being watched but everytime she looked over her should for a bit, those honey hues found nothing. It only confused the woman more when she would return home from the bar.

Maybe, she takes another sip of her tea. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Ja! Oh, and I should try dating again instead of constantly flirting? But oh what if I get stood up again? Ah! Nein, nein, stay focused, Cher! Get your daughter through college first, then you can have your cake too.

Renewed and feeling more assured, the woman suggested that she and the bluenette head to the front room to watch a movie. Which her daughter didn't object to.

muse a that owns a pretty little flower shop and across the street is hardcore tattoo shop where muse b works at and muse b is utterly in love at the sight they see across the street where muse a tend for their flowers every morning and fate decides to screw up muse b and the two finally meet one day Muse A is a kindergarten teacher very loved by their students. They had realized there’s a kid in her class who always forget to bring materials and is usually lonely and sad. To know what’s going on, they meet the kid’s parents, only to realize the kid is being raised by Muse B, the kid’s single uncle/aunt after their brother and sister in law passed away in a car accident. They don’t know how to raise a kid or what to do to make things better, so Muse A volunteers to give them some tips and make sure the kid will move on and be the once happy kid they know the kid can be. Muse A teaches Muse B simple things and visits them often, feeling their heart melt whenever they see Muse B acting in a fatherly/motherly way, and doing their best effort to be the best parent they could be, even when sometimes they feel about to give up.

Muse A goes to the countryside on summer vacation with her family as a small child. They don’t like it there very much, and are extremely grumpy about it. Then they meet Muse B, who’s been living there all their life in a house next door to the vacation home. The two become inseparable friends— running barefoot through tall grass, playing pranks on everyone, picking wild strawberries, building a hidden hideout so they can hang out there.      Then Muse A is taken away back to the city, and the two are devastated, pining for each other’s company for months after the separation. Years pass and they forget that summer. They’re now grownups, and Muse A is a successful business owner in the city, while Muse B takes up an artistic job ( musician, painter, poet, etc. ) near his home.      So one day, a bad breakup leaves Muse A heartbroken, and when their work goes downhill, they decide they need a break and go to the countryside. In the same rental vacation home from all those years ago, they spend their days trying to chill. Bad memories and nightmares wake them up from sleep and they take a walk through the grounds around them when they hear music//see someone?? They follow everything to their old hideout, where Muse B, too, has been spending a restless night in need of inspiration.      Muse A watches them for a while in secret, but then something scares them or they trip on something, and the two just go Whoa, hello..?! and Muse Boffers their hand to Muse A…. and then realizes that birthmark//scar on their hand looks familiar??  Muse A has been to various clubs around where they live, always gambling in the world of one night stands and fake love. One day, Muse A goes to party at a new place further away from where they live. They meet Muse B who has a dangerous aura around them, Muse A feels their arm slink around them as they dance together. The night involves shots, continuous drinking and flirting. Muse A & B end up having a night together but Muse A never expected Muse B to shoot somebody in front of her the next morning.

 gimme a plot where muse a is this cute shy little thing and one day they’re going to ride the bus home but it’s super full and only two seats are left, one next to some woman on her phone and one next to muse b who is really tough looking and has a ton of tattoos and basically scares the shit out of muse a so they go do sit with the woman and ask if that seat is taken and the woman goes off on them, and is just being really rude and muse b over hears and notices how cute muse a is blushing and has this really really strong urge to protect them and so they step in and tell the woman to calm the f down and offer muse a the seat next to them, and then they start talking and it’s great.(bonus points for next day on the bus all the seats are taken and muse b gets up and says they’ll sand and muse a is like fuck no i can’t let you do that and they get into a fight about it until muse b pulls muse a into their lap and says ‘compromise’)

 how about the complete fuckboy who is so used to routine. he picks up who he wants, it’ll be easy and if he’s lucky they’ll put up a challenge but they end up in the alley or in the men’s room and he always has the courtesy of kissing them goodbye and never seeing them again. and it’s like every saturday, he’s at the bar and he spots a pretty girl and she looks the perfect amount of innocent (he’s not up for a challenge tonight)  but theres a bit of banter going and eventually she ends up in the backseat of his Jeep and when they’re done he’s leans in with a grin, memorized almost like a catchphrase, “thanks for the great sex babe” to kiss her goodbye but she turns her cheek at the last minute, offers him a sweet smile ���cute. that was great sex for you?” and just like that the fuck boy’s been fucked and she’s smoothing her skirt down and disappearing out of the backseat and he needs to find her again, needs to prove her wrong and it’s almost obsessive the way he needs her and suddenly hes just like one of the many girls that chase after him following a mediocre one night stand. 

 i really want a plot where this totally sweet girl is dating this total ass and he prob cheats on her all the time and is so shitty to her but she stays because she’s sweet and caring and he’s all she’s ever known and they used to be so in love but anyways he’s totally one of those guys who brings around his douche friends and they sit on the couch and talk about chicks and drugs and partying and she is supposed 2 be the regular house wife gf who brings them food and sits next to him when they watch movies so he can flaunt her and just be /: a dick /: ANYWAYS his fellow douche friend starts to slowly be like god this guy is so awful to her and he starts following her out of the room instead of staying to high five his friend for cheating on her w some club girl and idk he just generally starts hanging out with her more while her bf and his other friends hang out in the basement or some shit and they’ll like sit on the porch while he smokes and they just talk or he’ll help her make food or ANYTHING and it can go so many cute ways tbh like ? he could be listening to the friend brag about sleeping around one day or see him being shitty to her like yelling at her for nothing ro smth and just be like DAMN I’VE HAD ENOUGH and finally break and yell at his friend and fight for her and accidently admit that he thinks she’s totally amazing and he’d cherish her sm or he could kiss her one night while they’re talking and they could start sneaking around behind the friends back or anything so !

cliche plot where muse b( who’s a badass and lowkey kind of a jerk ) makes a bet with his friends that he can take muse a’s ( who’s a sweet lil angel ) virginity but then plot twist !!somehow sweet lil muse a worms her way into his cold heart and would you look at that ?? he’s fallen in love with her !! and so now he’s really set on losing this bet because he doesn’t want to hurt her but oops, he took her to a party and his friend accidentally let her in on their little bet. cue the angst and fluff

Muse a is a really powerful criminal. he basically has the world under their thumb. he’s killed lots of people (or at least ordered a lot of people to be killed) and he’s made a LOT of money this way. muse b, meanwhile, is a relatively ordinary person – she’s the girl next door. through a turn of events, the two meet and begin a fling. (muse a may or may not have a spouse at home, but that’s neither here nor there.) muse b knows muse a is a criminal – everyone does – but she enjoys the rush and the excitement. one day, though, muse b finds out she’s pregnant. and she realizes that muse a is not a suitable father for her baby. he’s too dangerous. death and destruction follows him everywhere he goes, and, as much as she cares about him, she knows he’s not exactly a good person. so she gives it to him straight: she’s going to end their relationship, move, and raise their child alone, and muse a is going to stay away. muse a truly loves muse b, so he agrees to her terms, and does her one better: he’ll send money to help raise the kid, and even pay for her new home. fast forward some years. muse b is settled into her new life with her child, and muse a has stuck to his promises. at least until one day, he shows up on her doorstep. he has several armed guards, and a car ready to go. “grab our kid and get in the car,” he says. “someone found out, and my enemies are after the two of you"

11.) Muse A, was a shy and sweet girl, who's never had any romantic relations. Muse B, was what you'd call a player, and a bit rude too. One night, Muse A caught Muse B's interest. So he talks to her. After talking for what seemed like hours, Muse B risks it and leans in to kiss Muse A. Muse A, being in complete shock, though confesses that it was her first kiss. Muse B completely doubting it, but after a bit of discussion he apologies hesitantly. Muse A, makes a deal with Muse B though.. She has to get to know him better. Annoyed, Muse B agrees and they exchange numbers. The next day, they meet at the park and start talking. Later in time, they start to have feelings for each other, but, Muse B always denies it. Can Muse A get Muse B's change in heart?

Muse a has a abusive father and a dead mother. Their father is almost always drunk when they get home and will do whatever he wants to muse a. Muse b is muse A's best friend- and has been for a while. They almost always hang out at muse b's house so they wouldn't find out about muse A's father. One day muse b insists on going to muse A's house. The second they walk in their greeted by muse A's drunk father. Muse b finds out the truth about their family and becomes very protective of muse a. They don't ever want to leave their side. Eventually through good times and bad a romance starts to bloom

Muse A and Muse B are neighbors who have never met. When a winter storm knocks out the power to their building, Muse A, terrified of the dark, lets out a bloodcurdling scream. Next thing they know, Muse B is banging on the door to make sure they're okay

CanonxCanon pairings are my go-to. I will rarely write OCxOC and likely won't write CanonxOC. MxM and FxF are preferable ships, but I'll do FxM in the right circumstances.

I don't double. I know that's a deal breaker for a lot of people, but I would rather just write one pairing we're both super passionate about; I have a limited amount of time and don't want to spend it writing something I don't really love.

I like writing smut. An ideal roleplay would contain a 50/50, 60/40, or even 40/60 plot-to-smut ratio. Additional info under the read more!

Lazy lit. I tend to match my partner's length; I'm happy with anything from a single paragraph to novella as long as it moves the story forward.

Multiple replies a day - multiple replies a week. It really depends on the length of our posts and how busy I happen to be. I do not require a certain frequency of replies from you. If you can only reply a few times a month, that's absolutely fine.

PLEASE BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE. If you don't like something we're writing, be willing and able to let me know. I understand that people have anxiety (I do too) and I'm sympathetic to that, but if you're unable or unwilling to communicate, we are not a good match as writing partners.

This year I (and several other familiar fans!) decided to participate in @fandomtrumpshate - and omg there are 100 fics in the MDZS/The Untamed fandom! If each participant gets at least a $5 donation, then that's $500 dollars our fandom is giving to various charities! (A quick clarification on the beginning: all of that said below DOES NOT APPLY to those who just see people shipping their OCs with canon characters and walk away in silence cuz that’s not just their cup of tea. I rly appreciate that guys)

I grew up on 2010s fandom community and some of ya could possibly remember that those times shipping canonxoc pairings was something of big mauvais tone and a reason to drown a person in public shame, bully them and give their OC a Mary-Sue label just because they are shipped with canon char, and thank god fandom community grew up from it, weeeeell, almost.

I myself am Russian and I, therefore, come from Russian fandom community, where in some places and in some fandoms, canonxoc pairings are still said mauvais tone and cringe, and every OC shipped with canon gets called a Mary-Sue in instant just because of that. I’m a big canonxoc/selfshipping fan and apologist, and I myself have an OC to ship with canon for each of my fandoms. And because of my constant fear of being mocked and harassed by canonxoc and fandom OCs haters, I never posted my art and fanfics anywhere/never commissioned artists to draw my canonxoc ships for a long time cuz I KNEW haters would come for me (cheers for my nowadays friends from whom I get support and appreciation with my fandom OCs and canonxoc pairings, you guys and girls are the best, love ya). I felt ashamed and wrong for my desires. Geez, I was mocked for having a fandom OCs canonxoc shipping even around my friends, and one of them actually BULLIED me for that, saying “gurl you need yourself a man or a woman to have some descent fuk with them so you could forget your narcissistic(?!) desire to insert your OCs into canon and make them smash with canon chars, it’s just your desire to romantic and smexual practice that makes you keep doing so” (DAFUQ??? Even if we are accepting this stinky rhetorics just for a moment, then what’s the difference between shipping canonxoc and shipping canonxcanon or ocxoc if we are sublimating our romantic and smexual desires anyway???)

It took me to 10 years or so to become a grown ass 25yo woman who obtained an ability to shoo away those angry toddlers who are trying to be a self-proclaimed morality police and put me to shame because I have a fandom OCs and canonxoc ships. You don’t like it that much you come to bully me, call me cringe and call my OCs a Mary-Sues for being a fandom OCs/bring in ship with canon chars? Oh you sweetie pie, why dontcha write to Hirohiko Araki/Brendon Small/Nikolay Dybovsky/Thomas Grip/any other person created my fav piece of media to let them know that my stuff is cringe so they could write me a prohibition warrant for my canonxoc ships then? Or maybe you are just pissed off to see my female OCs being in shipping with male canon chars because of your internal misogyny? Basically, I'm looking to do a "You scratch my back, I scratch yours" double up RP type of deal. I'm looking for anyone (18+) in the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fandom who would be willing to write Adam against my Lucifer Morningstar in an Adamapple RP, as I've been wanting to do one plot with them for a while, and in return I will write any character in any pairing that you have been craving. All I ask that it's different characters/a different pairing. I also ask that both RP will get equal attention-- that it's split 50/50 and we show equal interest in both. It can be canonxcanon or canonxoc, mxm, mxf, fxf, etc. My RP partner doesn't have to match me in length, but I really prefer that it's at least 2-3 paragraphs. I myself average of 3-5+ paragraphs per reply-- depending on the scene. I write on discord only. I like to involve some angst and dark themes. I've been charging the same since the very first day I opened commissions, and even among all the kind words of encouragement I received from you about raising my prices, I still kept them the same because I was scared nobody would be interested in commissioning me with higher prices, but also I wasn't confident enough to think my art was more worthy that what I was charging. I'd still keep the same prices today if I could, but life has been tough on me in the past couple of years; I tried my best to make it work with these prices, but I'm no longer able to keep up with all the life stuff, so I'm forced to raise my prices. Warrior's Missing Eagle Crest -A TUGS Fanfiction

I haven't written anything in an embarrassing amount of time, so this is probably a big pile of doo-doo, but I'm just so proud that this feels like a release of sorts so I had to share!

Summary: Hercules accidentally comes across Warrior and Susannah deep in conversation on an evening walk, and hears Susannah ask why Warrior does not have an eagle crest like his brothers. Warrior's response is not what Hercules expected, forcing him to reflect on how his behaviour could have shaped Warrior's thoughts.

This route to Lowtown brought back a lot of memories as Hercules strolled along the path. It felt like another time – another world, even – when he had trotted along at the heels of his beloved aunt, Bright Dawn Starr, and her beau Patrick Teach – known to most as Sea Rogue. In a way, it had been both. His aunt and Sea Rogue had been in their late teens, barely into adulthood, while he had been little more than a toddler and still figuring out coherent speech. But he could still remember how much he had enjoyed the walks, clutching his auntie's hand and thinking up new ways to stop 'Uncle Patch' from holding the other one. Looking around, very little had changed along the riverbank path itself, but he couldn't remember enough about the area to consider how the environment had changed. It had been around twenty-five years since he'd last taken a walk this way.

He'd been twelve when they'd returned to the city, and Hercules had been far too busy in the past decade with supporting his grandfather to rebuild the Starr fleet and their reputation, and helping his mother to recover with the divorce from his father after he ran off with Auntie Dawn, with her raising his new baby brother, Ten Cents, and with...

“Warrior, can I ask you something?”

Hercules stopped in his tracks at the sound of the voice. He immediately recognised it as Susannah Moran – her Liverpudlian accent so like her father, Zebedee's, that it was fairly unique. To the surprise of many, she and Warrior had entered into a courtship that her father had not opposed. It seemed that he had stumbled across one of their dates.

They were sat by the river's edge, with their backs to him, deep in conversation. Part of him was screaming that he shouldn't be eavesdropping on them in this way, and he was about to make his presence known, when Warrior spoke.

“Course you can, Suse. What is it?”

Susannah seemed to be looking at something in front of her.

“How come yous don't have an eagle crest on your hat like your brothers? Don't yous have one?”

Hercules froze. That question had never been asked of him, nor of his brothers to his knowledge, but he knew that it had been whispered throughout the port ever since Ten Cents had received his crest two years before.

“Why is Warrior the 'odd one out' to his brothers..?”

He had an idea what the answer was, but to his shame realised that he'd never heard it from Warrior himself. Though he felt guilty, almost dirty, he kept quiet and listened for Warrior's response.

Warrior sighed, moving to take what Hercules assumed was his hat from Susannah.

“Oh, sure I got one.” He sighed. “Grandma gave us all one on our fifteenth birthday, like a coming of age thingy. She gave one to Aurora and Sunshine the first Christmas after we found out who they were.”

Susannah nodded with no hint of surprise. Hercules wasn't sure how he felt about that, given that it meant she knew more about their family history than he'd like, but was distracted as Warrior continued.

“I've got mine in the box it came in, on my bedside table.”

“Why don't you wear it?”

There was a pause before Warrior replied.

“I...I daren't, Suse. I don't wanna break it or lose it if I 'ave one of me accidents. It...it means too much to me.”

Hercules pulled a face and fought down an urge to scoff. The eagle crests Grandma Starr had given them were heavy, solid things that practically fused to his and Ten Cents' hats, so he wasn't entirely convinced by his brother's reasoning. Hell, Ten Cents had taken a fuel tanker explosion to the face, and his crest had suffered nothing worse than a bit of soot and smoke staining. Warrior's habit of bumping into and tripping over things was unlikely to cause it much harm, if any.

Susannah seemed to be following a similar line of thought.

“Doesn't it mean as much to Hercules and Ten Cents too?” Warrior looked away as he gave a bitter chuckle.

“I'm not sayin it don't...doesn't mean anythin to them. But...I don't think either of them ever saw it as I did when they got theirs.”

Susannah didn't reply, and she sat quietly until Warrior turned back to look at her.

“Yknow 'ow I told you about being fostered by Big Mac and Top 'At when we first moved back here?”

Susannah gave a nod, which Hercules wasn't entirely shocked by. Strangers to the port would frequently make the assumption that Warrior was the son of Big Mac and Top Hat, which annoyed him almost as much as the looks of surprise when they learned who his real family was. Hercules wished his younger brother wouldn't be so cheerful whenever he corrected someone, and in quiet moments he suspected that Big Mac and Top Hat secretly delighted in the mistake. He couldn't let go of the thought that the couple would like nothing more than to claim Warrior as their own child, as they probably would have done if his mother hadn't claimed Warrior back.

“Oh yeah?” Susannah continued. “Because your Mum needed the break while she was getting back on her feet?”

“Yeah. With my Dad runnin out on us, movin from London, and finding out she were pregnant again. It was a lot to 'andle...an I think I was making it a lot worse with the way I was acting.”

Hercules felt his brows raise at this last remark. He would have sworn that Warrior didn't remember that time.

“My Dad...I don't really remember 'im that well. I were only three when he left, but I do remember 'im lettin me get away with a lot. Then 'e was gone, and suddenly I wasn't allowed to do anythin' any more and kept gettin' into trouble. I do remember not taking it well and I was a little shit to everyone, especially my Mum...”

“You were three years old, Warrior. Three year olds don't behave at the best of times, and your whole world changed overnight.”

“I know, but...I was too much for Mum to 'andle at the time. Hercules tried to help with me, but he was...eleven or twelve? I reckon we both looked and sounded like screaming kids.”

Hercules found himself nodding in agreement as he looked away. No matter how much they wanted to, a pre-teen was no substitute for a parent, even if they weren't hurting from their own trauma as he had been. It was just one of many things he struggled with guilt over, regardless, unable to shake the feeling that he'd failed both his mother and Warrior.

“Mum ended up breaking down. Lucky that Top 'At were with her when she did, an 'e offered to 'ave me for a little while, until she were better. Hercules ended up stayin with our grandparents.”

“Why didn't they take yous too?”

“They offered, more than once. Thing is, Andrew was me best mate even then, an I reckon everyone thought it would do me good if I were close to someone my age instead of with Hercules. Mum kept comin to see me, anyway, tellin me about the new baby an 'ow I was gonna be a big brother an all. At first, it felt like a big sleepover – it was great. Not to mention, Big Mac and Top 'At were doin a lot to undo the behaviours Dad had taught me, though I didn't know at the time. I don't like to think about what I'd have turned out like if they'd not sorted me.

But when the weeks turned into months, and I spent most of Christmas with them instead of my own family...I remember starting to worry. I knew by then that I'd been...naughty while I was at home, and I wondered if I'd been sent away to live with my godparents because of it, like a punishment. I asked them when I was going home again, and they told me it was just until Mum 'ad the new baby.

It were enough for me for a while, even though I knew Hercules was back home, but he was older. I was happy to start – I got to spend every day with Andrew and I loved that. Mum was still coming to visit, and I went to see her and my grandparents, just came back with Big Mac and Top 'At. I reckon it were bothering me, deep down, but I could still treat it like a long sleepover, or an 'oliday and forget about it.”

He paused to give another heavy sigh.

“Then Ten Cents was born. Top 'At took me to see Mum and I got to hold 'im. I remembered being so excited an tellin Mum he could sleep in my room with me, which Mum smiled at and said he was too little to share my room. I went back thinking Mum would come and get me a few days later, but she didn't.

I still went to visit like I 'ad before, but there was no talk of me comin back.”

“Why didn't you ask to come home?”

For a second, Hercules thought that he'd spoken – the question had been echoing through his skull loud enough and he'd been getting more frustrated each time Warrior mentioned wanting to go home. He'd been asking the same questions while Warrior was away – if Warrior had just asked once, maybe their mother would have brought him back where he belonged sooner than she had. He half expected Warrior to hear and turn to see him, which would almost certainly result in another fight between them.

But Warrior's attention remained fixed on Susannah, the one who had actually asked the question. His response was so quiet that Hercules barely made out what he said.

“I was scared to, Suse. I didn't even want to go into my bedroom in case I saw it had been turned into Ten Cents' nursery and all my stuff was gone. I'd been getting' nightmares for weeks about Mum and Hercules tellin me that they didn't love me any more...”

He could hear the tears behind Warrior's voice as he ended the last sentence – as sure as he felt his own stinging his eyes. The frustration of a few seconds ago withered in the face of this new shame. Why was this a revelation to him? Warrior was talking about something that happened seventeen years ago – he should have known long before today that Warrior had felt like this and soothed said fears away.

But Warrior had never told him about them!

He looked up to see Susannah comforting Warrior, her head leaning on his shoulder. He saw his brother wipe his eyes.

“I'm alright.” He said softly, turning his head to kiss the top of her head. “Sorry about dat.”

“It's okay.” She replied. “You got back to your family though, and they didn't send yous away.”

“Yeah...that's a story in itself. When Ten Cents was born and I still didn't get to go home, staying with Big Mac and Top 'At wasn't so fun any more. They'd got me out of the tantrums and bratty stuff, and I knew dat if my real family didn't want me they were all I 'ad left, so I just cried myself to sleep a lot. I wasn't as quiet as I thought, as either they'd hear me or Drew would go down an tell em I was crying and they'd come up and comfort me. They tried their best, but I was sure I was staying with them forever. Then...”

Warrior paused for a second, as if trying to choose his words. Hercules was partly relieved for the respite – every word had felt like an accusing jab to the stomach – but he was fairly confident about where Warrior was going next.

“It turned out that I weren't the only one thinkin' I was stayin' with my foster parents forever. Top 'At an Big Mac have two kids older than Andrew – Joeseph an Heather. I dunno why, an if I'm bein really honest I think I'm best not knowin, but they decided I was stayin with them forever too. Heather decided to start bragging to Hercules about I was her brother now. Hercules got really angry and mouthed off at her. She got upset and Joe stood up for her, which might 'ave gone really badly if he wasn't an ocean-going tug as well.”

Hercules felt his teeth clench in anger, but not at his brother. Since that day, he and Joeseph had been unable to stay in the same room, let alone talk to one another, without it escalating to a fight. Joeseph had only been defending his little sister, but he didn't know why until Heather confessed to her teasing a year later. Her parents had been furious, but the damage had already been done...

“When we managed to break them apart, Mum an Top 'At went away an 'ad a very long talk. I was miserable, an sure dat was it for me. Mum an Hercules would never want me back after the fightin and Mum 'ad fell out with her best friend. But, later dat night Mum came over and said I was comin home the next day. I wanted to be 'appy, but I was frightened dat it was a punishment because of the fight.” He paused to sigh. “My room was still the same with all the stuff I'd left, an Mum helped me put my other things away. She gave me lots of hugs and said she was sorry she adn't brought me back sooner. My grandparents came over an made a fuss of me bein back – especially Grandma – an even Ten Cents seemed to like avin someone to play with. Hercules made a big show of bein glad I was back, but...”

'Made a “big show?!”' I was happy you were back home! Hercules wanted to scream at him, but forced himself to calm down when he heard Warrior speak in response to something Susannah had said.

“Well, it was the way he was with me later...it were like 'e thought I was only actin less spoiled and he was just waitin' for me to drop the act. Every little thing, he'd be there, either fixing what I was already doing or tellin me what to do. To start with, I thought he was tryin to 'elp an I wanted him to see how much better behaved I was now an make 'im proud. But...nothin' I did, nothin I said, were ever good enough for Hercules to stop watchin' me like I was gonna just go back to before. Everyone else seemed so happy with me, but the way Hercules kept treatin me made me worry dat he was the only one who wasn't hidin' the feelins they all 'ad. I felt like they were all waitin for me to make a mistake...so....so they could send me away for good...”

Hercules could barely think as he heard Warrior – his own brother – confess to feeling unwanted because of his behaviour. He wanted to deny it, insist it was just Warrior's imagination that made him believe those things. He even wanted to blame Big Mac and Top Hat, somehow poisoning Warrior's mind against them. It had been their son who Hercules had gotten into the fight with, and their daughter who had caused the fight with her tall tales, so maybe it was revenge against him to create a rift?

But for all his wants, he knew they would be lies. Not the wanting his brother back home, that had been true enough, but what Warrior had said about him watching for a return to form? To his shame, that was completely true.

He had resented his younger brother for automatically getting all his father's attention and favour, to the point that he'd been shocked that he'd not been taken by their father and Auntie Dawn when they left. In the weeks that followed, he'd seen their father's actions in everything Warrior had done, with every tantrum feeling like just another act of mockery from the man. He shouldn't have held his brother, who was barely more than a toddler, accountable, but he'd been twelve years old and full of pain. When Warrior had been sent to Big Mac and Top Hat, a tiny part of him had been relieved to be getting a break and having his grandparents' full attention. Maybe in some darker moments, in those early days of sorting his feelings, he'd entertained some private thoughts about how it might be better for Warrior to stay away. He'd caught them and buried them away, horrified by them. When Warrior had stayed away they had often danced back into his memories like an accusation. Once again, they were trying to resurface...

Because it had been so much easier if he treated Warrior like he needed to be constantly watched, to ignore his guilt by transferring it to his brother. It had been noticed too – his mother, grandparents, O.J, even Ten Cents had tried speaking to him about the way he treated Warrior. They'd never approached him, but Big Mac and Top Hat had often flashed disappointed glances in his direction when Warrior had fled to them after yet another argument. If they really did want to steal Warrior away, Hercules was doing them a huge favour.

“Yeah, I spent a lot of time with Big Mac an' Top At. Dey never made me feel like I 'ad to walk on eggshells, so I went over just for the peace. Even after they adoped Maggie, I was welcome any time. Mum and my grandparents would try an get me to stay 'ome more, an I'd try to, but it just got too much sometimes. Some days, I'd barely get through the door before it started...dat's one of the reasons I did the Fire Tug training, to get away from the fleet an do somethin different. The Fire Chief 'ad nothin but good things to say 'bout me, so Hercules couldn't pick at me about it.”

Hercules had been impressed with Warrior's dedication to becoming a certified Fire Tug – he'd been stupidly proud of how much the Fire Chief had praised Warrior.

But like many things, he'd never expressed these feelings out loud...

“When I were seven, Hercules turned fifteen and Grandma came in with this little box. She called 'im away for a minute, an' when they came back, 'e was holding the eagle crest. I remember thinkin it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, and Ten Cents – 'e was three – was asking Grandma if 'e could have one like it. Grandma said we would both be getting' our own on our fifteenth birthdays, because it were a tradition. She specifically said I'd be getting mine first, because I were older and it was fair, but I became convinced dat she'd only said it to calm Ten Cents down and thought I'd forget. I was so sure as I got older that my fifteenth birthday would come an' dere wouldn't be a crest for me...right up until I opened the box and saw it.”

“What happened? Your gran must have seen you were surprised when she gave it to you.”

“I...burst into tears right in front of her – she was horrified!” Warrior chuckled. “She even looked in the box to make sure it was in dere before she gave me a hug. She's the only one in the family I ever told about 'ow I was feelin because I just blurted everythin out right in front of her. We spent so long away from everyone Mum came lookin for us. I'd calmed down by dat time an we were just getting ready to come back, so Mum didn't see me upset. I think Grandma must have said somethin afterwards, because suddenly Mum was giving me a lot of hugs – I think she might 'ave been hurt I didn't tell her myself. “

“What about Hercules?”

Nobody had said anything to Hercules, but after Warrior's fifteenth birthday, his grandparents had pulled him up about being so hard on Warrior a couple of times. He'd listened to them – or he'd thought he had – but it had never occurred to him to wonder why.

“I mean, things aren't as bad as they were between him an me, but...I still feel like Ten Cents is the only thing keepin us from arguing a lot of the time. I know he gets confused about it all, but I think he's decided it's better not to know. Besides, I reckon he's 'had a bit more to worry about after what nearly 'appened with Sunshine.”

Sunshine, and his twin sister Aurora, had both been given their own crests the previous Christmas. Their sister had fashioned hers into a pendant, and wore it out as a necklace more than as a crest, and Sunshine only wore his on special occsions, claiming the weight gave him a headache after a few hours. That had never bothered Hercules anywhere near as much as Warrrior not wearing his had, and he realised with a sudden shame that he knew how his other three siblings - two of whom he had only known about for little over a year – felt about their crests before now, but not Warrior.

“Warrior...” Hercules took a step back to hide behind a bush as Susannah turned to look at Warrior straight on. The last thing he needed was for her to spot him now, after he had eavesdropped on this conversation.

“I know it's not my place, but I think yous need to tell Hercules these things. I'd be horrified if any of my brothers or my sister felt this way about me, and...I think he would too, if he'd heard us talking.”

Warrior sighed, and hung his head.

“I reckon 'e would too, Suse. Things 'ave gotten a bit better since everything went down last year, cos I think Hercules realised 'e could actually talk to me a bit. We talked a lot about our father, but...I don't know if I can bring the conversation up without starting another argument and goin back to square one...”

Hercules backed away slowly, relieved to see that neither of them were making a move to get up, and turned to leave.

He had a lot to think about...
