NPC Details in TOTK that I think are interesting/funny

Basically all of these are off the top of my head based on my BOTW knowledge and what I came across while I was playing TOTK!

None of these are main story spoilers, but are obviously spoilers to the game nonetheless!

In BOTW there's this sidequest in Rito Village involving this guy Jogo and his wife Juney on their honeymoon, and they're kind of on the rocks because of Juney. In TOTK, I'm pretty sure they've split up! Juney is one of the sand seal plushie deliverers and Jogo is in a Hebra cabin with another girl, not mentioning Juney at all. By far the funniest thing I've realized through my playthrough

Tasho and Oaki are the two koroks in BOTW that give you the shrine quest where you need to sneak around behind Oaki to get to the shrine, because Tasho is worried about him. In TOTK, Tasho worries about where Oaki has disappeared to, and wonders if he's in the Deku Tree's mouth. They are brothers <3

In BOTW, Manny of Hateno Village has a crush on Prima and there's a sidequest about it. In TOTK, he now has a crush on Ivee because he has not got the girl and Prima is now married.

On the other hand, in BOTW there's a sidequest to get Wabbin and Perda together at the Lovers Pond. In TOTK he has a daughter with her but is thrown in the Gerudo jail for trespassing I think. At least he still sees his daughter.

Zelda deems Symin capable of handling kids because of his experience with Purah. Hilarious

Sesami, Flaxel, Oliff, Canolo and Palme have all truly split up after their quest in BOTW. In TOTK, Sesami is chillin on Eventide Island, Flaxel is a Monster Hunter leader, and Oliff is guarding the entrance of Hyrule Castle. I don't know where Canolo and Palme are haha

Jules, once a tourist to Gerudo Town in BOTW, now works there as an assistant at Hotel Oasis

Before the events of BOTW, Cado and Rola have split up because Cado liked his cuccos so much. This is not resolved in BOTW and you only get this by reading the Journal of Various Worries. In TOTK, after his trip with Impa, he stands outside the arrow shop contemplating how to apologize to her. It's actually kinda sweet I hope they can work things out

The thunderstorm yesterday was scary and while I do appreciate temps having calmed down it also. Sigh. Means I have to eat three square meals again. Idk why or how, but my metabolism slows the fuck doooown during heat and I love it. I have conquered Italy vacations on a brioche and granità for brekkie, a canolo for lunch and then a two course meal for dinner. All bc it never got colder than 25 degrees.

Sun 9/1

Had breakfast and then took the wrong bus towards Monreale Cathedral. Realizing it would be a 1 mile climb in the heat to get to the Cathedral, we wisely called an (overpriced) Uber to haul us up there. We visited the Cloister first as it closed around 1pm. The fantastic 12th century capitals on the columns of the cloister were individually carved with incredible variety- depicting subjects like Samson, the Slaughter of the Innocents and Melusine (aka the Starbucks Mermaid). The cloister garden has 4 trees (palm, fig, olive, pomegranate, and all quite healthy) which represent earthly paradise. Really a special place! After lunch including a sweet canolo for Edward, we visited the Cathedral with its amazing mosaics, which surpass even those of San Marco in Venice! They form pictorial stories (Genesis, Old Testament and the Life of Christ) on different levels and all around the nave, and are truly exquisite. The columns in the nave have capitals which were repurposed from other places, and still display pagan goddesses. The main Christ Pantocrator mosaic was under renovation so we didn’t see it. The royal tombs of Norman kings William I and William II are in the south transcript- beautiful porphyry and marble. Monreale Cathedral was built in only 15 years, but its floors took another 300 years to complete. Leaving the Cathedral, we went to the wrong bus stop (again Edward’s mistake), we made our way to the correct place and waited. The bus didn’t come for some time, and a van pulled up and offered us a ride back into town for 10 Euros, which we accepted. We walked back from the area of the Norman Palace, had another rest and set out again to find dinner. Had another good meal near Piazza Rivoluzione, including another Sicilian white wine (Insolia) which we really enjoyed.

I continued to explore around when I found a camp belonging to the monster control crew. Only Canolo, the cook, was there and she told me that Captain Flaxel was out by the shore of Menoat River to the west because there was a pirate ship moored there. She then gave me some food that was a new recipe and I moved on. I spotted a Korok laying on the ground that had to find his friend, and he was down a walkway not too far from where I was. I picked him up and just dropped him and since we were on a hill, he rolled all the way down, lol. He stopped not to far from the Korok camp so I brought him over and the friend gave me two korok seeds as thanks. I now have 163 seeds (237 total).
