Wrong bitch (part 2)
Embry walked around the truck and opened the door for Y/N. She hopped out and the group that had been chatty suddenly got silent. Everyone looked at her as if to check that she was completely fine, no scratches on her. As if Embry wouldn’t have told them if she had been hurt in any way.
Together the couple walked towards the group that was now trying to act normal and start talking again. Leah walked around the fire and pulled Y/N into a hug.
“Thank god you’re okay.” She mumbled into Y/N’s hair, “I would’ve murdered that witch.”
Y/N laughed, “Not before Embry. I promise you.”
Leah became attached to Y/N rather quickly and that came as a surprise to everyone in the group. Leah had a hard shell and many people couldn’t get past her defensive protection she kept up. But somehow Y/N slipped through the cracks and became Leah’s best friend.
And Y/N didn’t take this honor lightly. She was proud to be Leah’s best friend.
This came with the consequence of Leah being protective over y/n too. She felt the imprint love that Embry felt and just wanted her safe. So when she found out that her best friend was found by a witch she was crazily worried.
“We shall begin.” Sam declared, giving Leah a pointed look to get off of y/n. Leah rolled her eyes but let go.
Embry led his fiancé over to sit on a log and together they sat down. He wrapped her arm around her and pulled her close for warmth. She leaned into him, glad that she had someone to love her so much.
“Today we learned that the witches are aware of our sacred tradition to imprint. One of the witches caused y/n’s car to come to a halt and had a chat with her. More like a threatening conversation to warn us that they want us off their back.” Sam started.
“Now that they know about imprints, we take this entire situation much more seriously. Our imprints can be in potential danger. We are unsure of how they found this information out, but they did.” Jacob added, crossing his arms and staring worriedly at Nessie who sat between her parents who also looked worried.
“We know that they are here to research the magic of our lands. But their sacrifices is what we cannot allow.” Sam spoke, his authority oozed with each of the words.
“We have to attack soon, or else our imprints can be at stake. And none of us are willing to take that bet.” Jake spoke with growls echoing after. Looking around the fire you could see all of the wolves grab their imprints and hold them somehow closer than they already were before.
“Attacking might make matters worse.” Edward spoke, “we don’t know enough about them to jump into this.”
“We can’t afford to wait much longer.” Jake challenged Edward, as always.
“Jake’s right. I’m not about to wait until Rachel gets hurt. We start planning now.” Paul spoke, crossing his arms as if to say that his words were absolute.
“My family is coming down and are headed this way now. My sister, Alice, had experience with witches that will come in handy for us to use against them.” Edward spoke.
“We don’t have the time.” Jake argued, “And last time I checked; you have no authority here.”
Nessie stood up, anger swallowing her whole, “Jacob. I get that you’re worried- but do not dare to disrespect my father. Aunt Alice is the most useful asset that we have here and you know it. Don’t let your fears get in front of logic.” She snapped as Bella smirked.
Ness was a spitting image of Bella and it made y/n grossed out thinking about how in love Jake used to be in love with her mother first. The whole imprinting situation with Jake was odd.
“She’s right Jake. Alice will be here soon and she will know what to do. Give it time.” Bella spoke up finally.
“Since when do we let the vampires control what we do? We are our own independent packs. We act when we want to act. I worry about Kim’s safety and that’s what matters to me. I don’t care if Alice gets here tomorrow, we need a plan now.” Jared’s eyes were narrowed at Bella.
It was no secret that the wolves didn’t really like Bella. She caused them a lot of trouble and she still was controlling Jacob’s life through Nessie. It was all annoying to them.
“We have more knowledge about other supernatural creatures, it’s merely a smart move to wait for my sister.” Edward argued, “she was taken in by witches for a time. She will know how to protect us.”
“Wasn’t her mate a confederate soldier? I don’t know how much I really trust that.” Leah scoffed, trying to cause more of a fight with Edward.
“Leah.” Y/n scolded, “not now.”
Leah sighed and looked away. Embry stood up to speak and y/n was shocked. Embry usually never was one for the role leader but here he was taking action.
“Look. These witches are dangerous. Like really dangerous. And today they threatened my fiancé and I’m not okay with that. We need a plan, whether that involves Alice or not. But I do know that we need to be together in this plan as a team. That’s how we beat them.” He blushed when everyone nodded in agreement. He quickly sat back down and wrapped himself around y/n.
“Embry is right. We need a plan. When does Alice get here?” Sam asked, looking worriedly at Emily who was already staring at him.
“Tomorrow morning.” Edward replied.
“Great. Until then we won’t run patrol. Wolves, stay with your imprints and make sure that they are okay. We meet up again tomorrow morning and come up with an attack. Imprints, know that we will do everything to keep you safe.” Sam ended the meeting.
“Now do we eat?” Quil asked, reaching around Jared and Kim for the hot dog sticks. Quil was y/n’s favorite and she would easily admit that to anyone who asked.
Y/n smiled lovingly at her friend.
“I vote we eat.” She said, laughing when quil gave her a shit eating grin.
Everyone started to get up and reach around for food and drinks when y/n saw Charlie Swan walk towards her. Charlie was her old neighbor and she was glad that he now knew about everything that was going on.
“Hey kiddo. You doing okay?” He asked, pulling her into a hug.
“Yeah! I’m pretty good considering what’s happening. What’re the odds that I would be the one who gets a little greeting from the witches?” She joked, trying to hide the fact that it bothered her a bit.
“Have you ever thought about shooting a gun?” Charlie asked, “I have plenty that I could lend you for now. I want to make sure you’re safe.”
Y/n’s heart melted, “Charlie, that’s really sweet. I’m okay though. I don’t need a gun. I have two of them already.” She joked, flexing her muscles.
Charlie chuckled pretending to be amazed at her muscles, “Fair enough, kiddo. Let me know if you do need anything at all. We’re like family.”
“I know Charlie. I appreciate it so much. Truly.”
They shared another quick hug before she went to find Embry. He wasn’t near the food nor the drinks. She glanced around to see if he was with Quill and Jacob but he wasn’t there. She was confused, where would he have gone?
She turned around to see that Jake was talking with Bella, but Nessie and Edward wasn’t around them either. Was Embry with them too?
She walked into the house to see Embry, Edward and Nessie in the kitchen. They all turned to look at her. She took in their expressions and noticed that Embry looked pissed off. His eyes were wide and his chest was heaving. Nessie and Edward looked annoyed but were trying to cover it up, even though they were failing.
“Hey. What’s going on in here?”
“They want to use you as fucking bait.” Embry spat, getting up and shoving his chair in, “She isn’t bait, nor will she ever be. Maybe you should be, Nessie, considering your fucking existence caused this all. Leave y/n out of this.”
“That isn’t fair. It’s not my fault I was born.” Nessie argued, “I’m not trying to put her at risk. I’d never want that! I just think they picked her for a reason.”
“I’m going to phase” he spat before running out of the house.
Y/n watched in horror as his wolf form exploded out of him as soon as he got outside of the house. Thank god no one was around him. He tore off into the woods and y/n felt herself shaking from nerves. She’s never seen him lose control like that.
Jacob came running into the house, “What the hell just happened?”
“There was a misunderstanding.” Edward tried.
“Ness wants to use me as bait and Embry freaked out.” Y/n blurted.
Jacob’s eyes narrowed at his imprint, “I love you, but stop. You cannot put other people as bait, especially my best friend’s imprint.”
“Jake-“ she tried to talk but he cut her off.
“No. I’m serious. Stop now. I’m going to go find Embry and apologize. I suggest that you do the same.” Jake fled out of the house and towards the woods to find Embry.
Y/n stood there, starting out the door not knowing really what to do.
“Why would you even ask him that? You know that he would say no.” She finally said.
“He would be more mad if we asked you.” Ness said, “y/n, I promise I’m not trying to put you in danger.”
“Sometimes you need to leave things alone. You may be Jacob’s imprint but that doesn’t make you in charge of anyone. Please, stop.” She said, holding her hand up and walking outside to try to help find Embry.
Outside the rest of the group was really confused as to what was going on. Paul saw the shaky look on y/n’s face and went over to check on her. She explained what happened and it pissed off the rest of the pack.
“I think we should go. We will bring Alice tomorrow. I’m so sorry that Ness and Edward suggested that to Embry. Y/n, I’m sorry.” Bella apologized, escorting her family to their jeep.
“I love Jacob, but I really don’t like that fucking family.” Paul ranted, “How can they just try to throw her as bait like that? Y/n, you’re family and we would never let that happen.”
Y/n nodded, “I know.”
Sam came out of the woods running, “Y/n, we need you to come calm Embry down. He can’t phase back.”
Y/N sighed and moved her body to go towards the woods. Sometimes this happened, Embry couldn’t calm down and they called her to help him shift back to his human body. This time felt slightly different because it was your safety that he was angry about and that was something this man did not fuck with.
She heard growling and followed that sound. Angry. It just sounded so angry and primal. She kept walking and found a couple trees with dents in them and one tree even knocked completely down. To the left of the trees were two wolves. Jacob and Embry.
Jacob was circling Embry and Embry was clawing at the ground while snarling. His ears were pointed and his teeth were on show as Jacob tried to get closer. Embry wanted to fight to release his anger and she knew he would get hurt.
One of them would get hurt. Maybe Embry wanted to hurt Jacob to get back at Nessie, but y/n knew that he would regret hurting his friend out of spite. Nothing good ever came out of spite.
“Boys!” Y/n announced herself.
Suddenly both wolves heads snapped towards her. Jacob quickly moved his body so that it was between Embry and y/n, feeling a need to make sure she was safe. Embry was furious and accidents can happen- Emily knew that from when she got hurt from Sam.
Embry did not like that one bit. He growled loudly and started to advance.
“Don’t get near her” Embry snarled through the pack link, worrying about his imprint’s safety.
“I’m trying to protect her. You’re too angry right now.” Jake tried to reason.
“I would never hurt her.”
“You wouldn’t mean to, I know. But things can happen, look at Emily.”
“Im not Sam. Now let me pass.”
Embry was starting to get twitchy with having Jake around his imprint in wolf form. Jacob is an alpha meaning that he is stronger and faster, which means it’s harder for Embry to beat him. But he swore on his life that if Jacob was a threat, Embry would not hesitate to go for a seriously damaging attack.
“Let him through Jake. Im okay. Sam sent me here to calm him down.” Y/n calmly said while trying to slowly walk over.
Jacob looked hesitant but did move out of the way. Embry felt his heart beat steady a little bit as he saw Y/N standing before him. Just the sight of her made his days better. She was his everything and it made him so upset that Nessie thought that Y/N would ever be used as bait.
Embry’s wolf slowly walked towards her until they were a foot away. His body slumped to the ground, tired from being so rageful.
“Jake, go ahead and go. I got this.”
Jake didn’t leave.
“You heard her, go. Bye Jake. We are fine.” Embry spoke through the link
“Fine. Don’t hurt her.”
Embry rolled his eyes, “Fuck off.”
Jake ran off as Y/N’s fingers found her way into Embry’s fur, feeling how soft it really is.
“So I can’t hear you in this form so I will do all the talking. Reneesme was dumb for suggesting that I be used as bait, like really dumb. As an imprint she should understand how sacred they are. At the same time she comes from the Cullen family, a family that just does what they want without caring how it affects others. She’s stubborn and it’s honestly annoying. But you can’t hate her over me.”
Embry’s eyes narrowed and Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, “Listen, hear me out. You’re my sweet Embry, the one who loves everyone. I don’t want you to resent her over one stupid idea. She genuinely didn’t mean to offend you and she doesn’t want harm done to me. Get her to apologize and then let that be that, okay?”
Embry’s body started to shake until he was in front of her in his naked glory.

Last year around this time my mom asked me if halloween was my favorite holiday (it is) and why. My dad jokingly answered that it's the only widely celebrated holiday in the US That doesn't have Christian roots (cue conversation about Christianity adopting/stealing celebrations and traditions from other cultures) which yeah true and fair and probably a small part but my actual reasoning (at the time i was thinking about how autism affects my life and always has) was that its a time when we celebrate the weird and different and macabre we embrace the other at halloween and as someone who always felt very other it was nice to not have to work as hard to fit in because the weirdness was celebrated
Anyway I had a horrible day of pain and brain fog and began thinking about it in the similar but different lens of chronic illness or disability and wrote this little piece. The first draft was close to unintelligible due to the aforementioned brain fog but has been edited and is brought to you now by insomnia
Why do i love halloween?
Maybe its because
I could be a zombie
The way my body falls apart beneath me. no thoughts push through the fog in my head. no feelings exist but a resigned numbness as my shambling limbs fail to go through even the most basic of functions.
I could be a vampire
The way i sleep all day in an attempt to regain energy i never had to begin with and because of the blood i drink when my lips dry and crack. what does it matter if its my own?
I could be a witch
The way my medicine cabinet looks like it should belong to someone 3 or 4 times my age and how i keep trying potion after potion and pill after pill hoping something will help.
I could be a corpse
The way my skins pales and hands freeze and cheeks hollow because i cant eat and how my joints ache in protest to even the slightest movements.
I could be a werewolf
The way my body changes so quickly and so completely because of factors i cannot control. I dont recognize myself in a mirror and my abilities are miles away from what they might've been before. I can barely remember before.
I could be a ghost
The way i hover transparent barely able to interact with my surroundings. never fully there even on my best days. how i wail and moan through the night when i cant sleep because of the pain.
Maybe i love halloween because I fit in here, with all the other monsters.
Is this a poem?
A love letter?
A rant?
I dont know.
You decide.
Everyone from doctors to strangers get to judge and make decisions about my body .
You might as well have my writing too.
While we're at it,
When i die,
Take my bones.
They can be the skeleton on your front porch steps.
#feech rambles#feech writes#poetry?#poetry#chronic illness#lupus#halloween#monsters#editing this i also thought of that one post thats like goddammit is this about grief again?#and ya know what it is#grief for myslef as i was before i began experiencing symptoms#grief for all the things i cant do#grief for the future i mightve had#but also grief for my mother and grandmother#the difference it mightve made in their lives to not jave this disease#grief for how they never got both and#only either or#grief for all that couldve been but wont be#eventually ill learn to accept it and move on#but today#today it hurts

OCS AS TRAGIC HORROR TROPES;
I was tagged by all these beloveds: @jendoe @chuckhansen @shellibisshe @denerims @jackiesarch @florbelles @dihardys @kingsroad + @unholymilf to use this uquiz for some of my crazy kids - thank you all sm, love ya all🤍
Tagging: @simonxriley @queennymeria @risingsh0t @arklay @indorilnerevarine @marivenah @shadowglens @prometheas @aedvcan @liurnia @sstewyhosseini @confidentandgood @duffmckagans @jennystahl @noonfaerie @thomrainer @multiverse-of-themind + @malefiicarum
THE VAMPIRE;
it is the loneliest day of a vampire's life, the first time they look into a mirror and see their reflection missing. drinking blood sucks too, don't get me wrong, but as a vampire you had to learn to hide from the sunlight, from your family, all your friends, because you were unavoidably different now and you didn't know how to explain that to them in a way they would understand. you could get stranger's blood in bursts, but what is life when you can't know someone for longer than the night lasts? you left everything behind because it was easier than trying to tell them. i just hope you know you're not the only vampire out there, and that there exist people who will understand your situation without a word. they'll sit with you in the dark for as long as you'll need them to.
THAT WHICH CANNOT BE KNOWN;
oh god. how did it come to this? to some extent, you've gone so far past your own idea of "human" that it must be kind of fun, right? maybe. i'm not sure. as an artefact of cosmic horror, you're wild and wacky and colourful and people are probably drawn to that, but you will never let them know you. the mystery intrigues for a while, but it'll wear everyone down. it'll wear you down, too. who are you? do you remember? are you so far gone that you can't go back? and maybe that's the most tragic thing of all- becoming so distorted in your identity, and for so long, that no matter how hard you want to return you can't ever seem to figure it out. but you've learned a vast amount up in the stars, and people will work hard to get to know you. it doesn't matter who you used to be. sometimes, you should just start from scratch: give yourself a name, a birthday. let someone celebrate these things with you
THE FINAL GIRL;
the final girl comes out the other end of trauma alive- or, they were supposed to. honestly, you're not so sure you're really alive anymore. you saw the same hurt take those you were closest to while everyone paraded your bruises as bravery, as strength, as if you're the hero. and it hurts. you're tired and you don't want to have to be brave anymore. whatever you went through, it changed so much of who you were that you're still getting used to the person you see in the mirror. you didn't have a say in any of it, but you're here now, and that's gotta count for something. you'll make it count for something. but first, you need to let yourself find rest
THE WITCH;
people need to find blame wherever they can; it makes the bad things in their life feel just a touch more bearable. the witches are so often blamed for the curses others are under that no one even questions it anymore. you point to a supposed witch and everyone else prepares the stake, no matter their innocence. to be born and believed a witch is one of the worst curses of them all- you can have friends and family, but there's always a dread that someday, someone will point to you, and everyone you once trusted will throw you into the pyre. if you're here, reading this, you've probably been burned before. and i don't blame you for wanting to hide away, to really become the witch they all say you are, to curse them. but to be a witch is to brush your fingertips over the bark of a tree and watch it grow a touch stronger. keep that in mind
THE ONE WHO OPENED THE DOOR;
you turn the door handle. you call out, "who's there?" and the crowd has the audacity to groan, to get frustrated with you. as if the gift of hindsight was something you had. how the hell were you supposed to know you were born into a horror movie? no one bothered to tell you. say, if instead this was an action film, or a fantasy, would they still be telling you how silly of a mistake it was to press further on your quest? they would've commended you for your bravery. you thought you were going to be saving a princess in a tower, not getting stabbed in the back by a killer in the shadows. how is that fair? it isn't, and none of that was ever your fault. it is not wrong to believe things are good. your trust, your optimism, it shouldn't ever be mistaken for ignorance or stupidity. we need more people who open doors. how else are any of us gonna move forward?

THE WEREWOLF
there's something inside a werewolf that's sharp, thorns and barbs coiling up in tight knots of vine even on their best days. halfway through a conversation, you'll forget your happiness and the pain comes back in a flash. you never meant to, but the sharpness has done harm on your behalf. it's defensive. it's leftover artillery from a battle you spent so long fighting that it still doesn't feel like it's truly over, does it? you want so badly to be soft. to take the hand that you are offered instead of baring your teeth. and it might be hard to believe, but you are soft. you're the softest one out there. it'll just take a while to untangle those vines enough to know that very little is often life-or-death, and not everything touches to hurt.
THE GHOST
it's an odd thing, to feel so far from grounded and yet trapped, tethered, unable to escape. there's more you have to do! so why can't you move? i'm sure you have an answer to that, at the very least in the back of your mind. people love to say that ghosts hold grudges or haunt for revenge but they always get it wrong; you're stuck because something or someone chained you down and left you there. you try and reach out to all those bright people who pass through your life, but it rarely feels like it does much more than knock a cup off the table, blow some papers into the air. i need you to trust me- they see it. they're listening. they'll keep looking for you and, eventually, they'll be able to see you too.
THAT WHICH CANNOT BE KNOWN
oh god. how did it come to this? to some extent, you've gone so far past your own idea of "human" that it must be kind of fun, right? maybe. i'm not sure. as an artefact of cosmic horror, you're wild and wacky and colourful and people are probably drawn to that, but you will never let them know you. the mystery intrigues for a while, but it'll wear everyone down. it'll wear you down, too. who are you? do you remember? are you so far gone that you can't go back? and maybe that's the most tragic thing of all- becoming so distorted in your identity, and for so long, that no matter how hard you want to return you can't ever seem to figure it out. but you've learned a vast amount up in the stars, and people will work hard to get to know you. it doesn't matter who you used to be. sometimes, you should just start from scratch: give yourself a name, a birthday. let someone celebrate these things with you.

THE MUMMY
here's the thing about mummies- why the hell is anyone opening up their tombs? you were resting. you were peaceful. but someone intruded, barged in and broke down your walls and stole all the parts of yourself that you cherished, and then blamed you for being angry. blamed you for chasing them down no matter how fast they ran and how many obstacles they put in your path. and you know what? they deserve your rage. they destroyed something sacred. they didn't give a shit, and they wouldn't ever have lamented their actions had it not been for you- the real hero- getting up and showing them that they don't have the right to destroy and pillage as they please. that is your home. that is your body. nothing they do can take that from you. if not for you, they probably would've kept breaking into tombs and disturbing restful lives without a second thought. you won't be repayed for your good, but i hope you know you are a saviour in your own right.
THE GHOST
it's an odd thing, to feel so far from grounded and yet trapped, tethered, unable to escape. there's more you have to do! so why can't you move? i'm sure you have an answer to that, at the very least in the back of your mind. people love to say that ghosts hold grudges or haunt for revenge but they always get it wrong; you're stuck because something or someone chained you down and left you there. you try and reach out to all those bright people who pass through your life, but it rarely feels like it does much more than knock a cup off the table, blow some papers into the air. i need you to trust me- they see it. they're listening. they'll keep looking for you and, eventually, they'll be able to see you too.

I have a lot of feelings about Klaus and his relationship with the wolf inside him.
I think Klaus' obsession with removing his curse and freeing his wolf side was deeply rooted in wanting to fix himself. He's different, he's felt different since he was a child with the way Mikael hated him and the way his mother loved(???) him. He's close to his siblings, but then finds out the earth shattering truth that he's a bastard and from that moment on he sees himself as less than and is convinced that they also see him as less than. Now he doesn't just share this eternal life with them, he is also the only one CURSED. I think that werewolves have this inherent longing for a pack, so I believe that also created a hole inside of him that he can't fill on top of everything else. It's canon that the vampires are unnatural, but that wolves and witches are natural, so there was also this connection to nature that he had innate to him that was severed too.
All of these things worked together to help him grow into the twisted paranoid mess that he is, constantly looking for acceptance and never able to even RECOGNIZE it when it's offered.
I think that throughout the years he hunted down werewolves, packs or solos, in order to learn more about them. Fascinated by what he cannot access. Wolves HATE vampires though, innately, so there was a lot of rejection for him being a vampire. Vampires look down on wolves. Klaus is an abomination on both sides - and he can't get over that no matter how much Elijah tells him he is LOVED. SO what happens when he breaks the curse after a thousand years? Is there an influx of power? YES Is everything that he is once again amplified? Is this connection to nature restored in part, just enough that he realizes it's missing? Is there a hole in his being that SOMEHOW yawns wider and darker than ever before? SO now he's desperate to make more of himself. To be feel loved. To be feel accepted. To have a pack And they turn on him. He makes a family by force to replace the one he drove away and then he has to kill each and every single one of them by his own hand.
I don't care what happened in the show, That had to break him
So he gives up on that and goes to Nola where he's expecting a child with another werewolf, and what do we see for three seasons straight? Rejection from the wolves
So my Klaus? In the general canon, he's not in touch with his werewolf side, he tries to be at first when he breaks the curse, but all he finds is pain and so he starts to reject it as hard as he's been rejected.
I feel like the relationship with the wolf inside him is terribly broken, he enjoys the strength and invincibility it gives him, but it stops there. I think this relationship is intrinsically linked to his ability to heal and why we don't see him change (only get worse) despite a thousand years of Elijah and Rebekah trying their best with him.
From a writing standpoint, I love the idea that he could finally fill the hole in his soul if he found that type of acceptance and allowed himself to feel it. Whether it be in a child like Hope or in another wolf without a pack wolf like Jenna written by @apex-royalty
I think if he COULD get in touch with his wolf side in a way that made him feel safe it would actually be really healing for him.

i’ve only seen legacies, i haven’t seen the 2(?) shows that came before it so excuse my lack of background knowledge, but this verse ( not necessarily tied to the show, but any universe with schools for the supernaturals ) is perfect for both amelia finch and tamora monroe. hear me out:
▬▬ amelia finch, an alpha werewolf who has worked her entire life to keep that part of herself hidden from those she sees on a daily basis. this goes for humans and any supernatural creatures outside of her own pack. she’s so powerful that and has trained so hard on keeping her secret that she can hide her own scent and she can’t be affected by things other supernatural creatures can be as easily. she hid herself in plain sight, and while a big part of that was to protect herself because she knew that playing the role of an innocent human would keep her safe against hunters, it’s also about protecting others. she has always worked to ensure that the students who turn into supernatural creatures are maintaining who they were before that happened, that they’re keeping their humanity. because she is an alpha of a pack who has gotten rid of everything that ties them to their humanity, and that was their choice, but it’s not these students’. she worked hard to keep pushing them in their studies to ensure they never lost sight of their goals: ex. knowing that scott was struggling with the balance between being a werewolf and keeping up his grades in order to get to vet school ----- but only being able to actively / noticeably help with one side of that, that would ultimately help the other side too. she put so much energy into helping her supernatural students keep her humanity, all the while working to keep herself hidden from them despite knowing she could help them by revealing herself too. but it was important they didn’t know she was an alpha werewolf because she didn’t want that to sway them anyway. she needed to help them as a human, so that they could have that tie back to their humanity, because most of these students are just now learning what it’s like to be part of this life.
at a school like this, she could tie those two worlds of guidance together. post series, after losing her entire pack and her daughter to the war against hunters, and after exposing herself to a few select people, she realizes that her tie to beacon hills has faltered slightly, and that she needs to discover a new path. she would really find a home in a school like this because she can focus on all the things she always has, like ensuring they stick to their humanity and don’t become monsters ( like her own pack had chosen to become, the pack she created. ) and, she finally gets to help people with her own knowledge of the supernatural, which is obviously advanced given the way she had been trained since she was a child. these schools want to help these kids grow up in a way that’s safest for them and everyone else, and that’s something she would find a lot of comfort in, and she’d be really good at it. in this verse, she would be a science teacher + a mentor to the wolves.
▬▬ tamora monroe, a hunter who had built herself up from her trauma after being attacked by a supernatural creature, followed by the sheriff of the town lying to her and making her + everyone around her out to assume she was mentally ill for assuming something worse happened to her. she collected weapons, she trained herself, and she formed an army to create a war against supernatural creatures, one in which she had proven to be in over her head on. but tamora’s problem wasn’t all supernatural creatures; it was that she didn’t have all the facts, and no one was delivering them to her in the right way. they were so focused on trying to get her away from a manipulator that they didn’t see that they, themselves were the real problem, because they were the ones who had lied to her to begin with, and that was her problem with all of this. she hated being in a town where people were never allowed real closure on their own accidents or the loss of loved ones because the people in charge of this place were lying. she felt unsafe with any sort of supernatural creature because she had put them all in one box after misreading a situation with scott and even assuming that he was a violent enemy, too.
she goes on to build her international army after the war on beacon hills. i’ve always said that tamora can eventually see the truth about the supernatural, but she just hasn’t been given that chance yet ( scott and noah’s attempts were all based on gerald manipulating her, not on actually explaining themselves, and the latter is what she needed to hear. ) she cares for people so much; she has such a big heart. the last thing she ever wanted was to hurt anybody, but at this point, she still doesn’t see supernatural creatures as people. she sees them as lost souls who have had their lives taken from them.
once she really got to understand that supernatural creatures are not all the same violent monsters she has been comparing to the beast that attacked her, she’ll start to overcome this fear and need for vengeance ( obviously, with a lot of time. ) she will realize that there’s a difference between supernatural creatures automatically being monsters and supernatural creatures choosing to not be monsters, which is where a place like this comes in. because once she was starting to understand, she would have such a high respect for a school like this ( even likely opening up her own far, far into the future. ) because she has always cared about kids / teenagers, that’s why she became a teacher and then a guidance counselor, so knowing that these students were learning how to protect themselves, how to protect the people around them, how to keep this world a safe place for everyone and not just them, she would feel really safe in knowing that. she would find a place there, using her own backstory as her own bit of guidance ------ to show them that monsters come in all shapes & sizes ( like her ) and that’s why it’s important for them to be somewhere like this, where they learn to control their powers properly and learn when to use / not use them. she would also highly fund schools like this so kids don’t grow up and lose their souls / lose their humanity like she had assumed all supernatural creatures did. she would still struggle with the secrets, because her mental health was harmed by people lying to her about what happened, but she would also see that there would be less incidents, less strife, less problems because of a school like this because these students are being trained and guided a certain way ----- in a way that she can respect and see the benefit from.

For research purposes (part 1)
Klaus x Stiles.
has some nsfw. smut.
Where Klaus was left alone as his family's souls were inside the blue jewel necklace. Where he escaped New Orleans and came to collect the debt of Deaton's lineage; to help him bring back his brother and sister.
He told himself that he's just in Beacon Hills to make Deaton help him get his family back. And not to intervene with problems there.
But a certain brown-eyed teen made that impossible. No matter how he wanted nothing to do about it, he can't help saving that pale-skinned, skinny, defenseless teen named Mieczyslaw.
"Wo-woah!!!" -Stiles and Scott stepped away as Deaton hauled in 2 coffins.
"D-Deaton? What the fuck?!?" -Stiles holding onto his bat.
"That won't do much, Stiles. Scott, could you please help me get these to the back room?"
As hesitant as he was, Scott did help. Aside from the coffins. There were other stuffs to; candles, roots, dried plants, grass, flowers, stakes...
"A-Are they... vampires?" -Stiles holding up the stakes.
"Yes. Before everything else. Let me explain the situation."
Deaton started to explain that these are not just ordinary vampires. They were the first ones. The originals. He then opened the coffins, stating that they are Elijah and Rebekah Mikaelson. They were poisoned and a cure is needed to be made. Their souls are witched into a blue jeweled necklace. He then held up the necklace and hang it over Elijah's open coffin. He is to make a cure for the bodies, before transferring the souls back.
"That sounded so dangerous. Can't you just decline?" -Stiles staring at the bodies of the originals.
"I cannot decline."
His family had a debt to the Mikaelson family. And now a member is collecting on that debt now. The hybrid: Niklaus Mikaelson.
Deaton had warned them to not do anything stupid and let him handle this. That they should make sure to relay the information to the other pack members.
"How long is he gonna stay here?" -Scott
"It will all depend on when he gets all the materials we need. Don't worry, Scott. I'm sure he will not cause trouble, with the resurrection of his family on the line. If ever, he would be on our side. And that, would be very convenient for us."
Then they heard a car pull over the front of the clinic. Deaton swallowed and took a deep breath.
"He's here."
Deaton and the 2 teens looked at each other and nodded. They headed to the front door and saw Niklaus standing outside the door. He has blood all over him.
"Hello, Deaton."
"Good evening, Mr. Mikaelson."
"Oh, please. Just call me Klaus. Well, aren't you gonna invite me in?"
"Sorry. Of course, come in."
"Do pardon my bloody look. I had to do a little more 'convincing' to get this venom we need." -Klaus dangled the vial from a werewolf family line needed to make the cure.
Deaton handed Klaus a wet towel to clean the blood off.
Scott was observing the hybrid all the while. He could sense the strength coming from him. But the vampire side made it hard to catch a scent from Klaus. Scott is the alpha of Beacon Hills but in the presence of Klaus, he could tell that his status means nothing. He was weary but he trusts Deaton has this under control.
Stiles, on the other hand, was in complete worry and confusion. He can say that Klaus is someone not to mess with. This one is the big bad wolf. But also hot as hell... what's up with the accent? the voice? and yes, he is bi. He is sure about himself now.
Scott just blinked and before he knows it, Klaus was standing infront of him and Stiles, reading their school IDs.
"Scott McCall... Alpha, nice to meet you." -Klaus looked at Scott as he let his ID go.
"And... Mieczyslaw Stilinski. Nice to meet you." -Klaus also looked at Stiles as he let the ID go.
"H-Hello. Wow, that's the first time someone said my name right. On the first try too." -Stiles stared at Klaus's eyes.
Klaus smiled at him. "Are you sure you should be looking into my eyes, love?"
"Oh! Uhm..." -Stiles looked away. He read about this in books. Vampires can compell you, staring into your eyes.
Klaus chuckled. "Don't worry. I gave my word to not hurt any of you."
"That would be very much appreciated, Klaus." -Deaton came back from the back room.
Klaus stepped away from Stiles.
"I believe we need only 2 family venom."
"Yes, tomorrow I will get the one. And the last one we'll just get from a Hale... I supposed I deserve to get a drink." -Klaus stared at Scott.
"Scott, show him around. Take him to the bar downtown." -Deaton whispering to Scott.
"But what if he bites someone?"
"It's okay. He won't kill them. He gave his word."
"What?!? I should just let him bite someone???"
"Yes... rather than piss him off and wage a war against him and his family."
"... Okay."
---
Scott and Stiles rode with Klaus in his car to the bar downtown. On the ride there, Klaus took the opportunity to gather information about Beacon Hills, it might come in handy some time.
"So, you were bitten, not born into this?"
"Yes. Peter Hale was the one that made me."
"Hale... I've known their ancestors. Pretty interesting werewolf kind. Being able to half transform at will."
Klaus said as he glanced at the brown-eyed boy sitting at the back. He intrigued him. The boy has this something about him that makes you wanna protect him and save him all the time.
"How about you, Mieczyslaw? Do you have certain powers, love?"
Stiles has his mouth a bit agape. He was just listening to Klaus's voice and accent. Loving the sound of his name in it.
"Oh, just call me Stiles. Yeah, Stiles please. I'm not used to being called Mieczyslaw."
"But the meaning of your name is beautiful and rhymes with love too."
"I-I, well, I prefer Stiles." -Stiles insisted and thought: 'Why am I sweating? Why am I blushing? Ohmygod!'
"Alright then... Stiles."
"Yes... uhm no I'm just human. No powers." -Stiles said, very animatedly with his face and hands. Taking note on how 'Stiles' sounds like when Klaus was pronouncing it. He loves the hybrid's voice and accent. A new discovery about himself, he never thought he's such an accent guy. If he could, he would record Klaus talking and listen to him talk all night.
They arrived at the bar and were stopped by the entrance. Stiles presented the bouncer with their fake IDs. Scott went to the bar as Stiles looked for a table with Klaus.
Stiles could see the ladies and some guys stare at Klaus as they pass by. He can't blame them. The guy is beautiful. He found an open booth at the far end.
"Uhm, I hope you're okay here, Klaus. This is the only available booth."
"It's okay, love." -Klaus slid into the seat.
Stiles was to sit on the opposite of Klaus when
"Come sit beside me, Stiles."
"Uh-I-"
"I won't hurt you, love."
"Well... okay." -Stiles did, only to not make Klaus angry and possibly rage out on a vampire drinking spree or something.
Klaus stared at Stiles. He noticed the teen's cheek is littered with moles. He traced them with his fingertips, down to Stiles's neck.
Stiles shuddered at the touch. "K-Klaus..."
Klaus did not stop touching his neck, his fingertips now dipping lower to the collarbone, tugging away the collar of his shirt.
Stiles looked at Klaus, his cheeks fully flushed. He did not moved away though his brain knew he should've but his body said otherwise. The fingertips felt... good on his skin. And the heat in his pants wasn't helping at all.
Klaus smiled at him and leaned into his neck. Stiles held his breath when he felt a tongue flick at his skin.
'Shit fuck ohmygod!' -Stiles closed his eyes.
Klaus could hear the thumping of Stiles's heart. He could see the pulse on his neck quickening. So... inviting.
"Have you been bit by a vampire before, Stiles?" -Klaus breathed on his ears.
"N-No."
"Would you like to try?"
'Ohmygod! Scott, where the fuck are you?!?'
As if on cue, Scott arrived with a waiter serving their drinks. Klaus moved away from Stiles's neck and straightened on his seat. Stiles puckered his lips and slid closer to the table. He placed his elbows on the table as he quickly took his drink and started downing it.
"H-Hey, Stiles, dude slow down." -Scott.
Klaus laughed as he took his own drink.
'I can't calm down, Scott!' -Stiles thought again. He's very confused. What happened was scary as shit. But also hot as hell. Having Klaus so near and whispering in his ears. Hot damn! He poured himself another shot and drunk it.
'Hmnn, shit!' -Stiles felt his thigh brush against Klaus's thigh.
"Are you okay, love?" -Klaus asked Stiles, teasingly. He knows what the teen was feeling right now. Stiles had slid forward to the table, hiding his lower half under the table.
"Ahh, yeah. I just... well, I just wanna drink real bad." -Stiles lied with a twitch in his pants.
The alcohol, Klaus, and his arousal was making Stiles very disoriented.
"Oh, shit! Stiles, look!" -Scott tapping his arm.
"What?!?"
"A Kanima!"
Stiles whipped his head to look at where Scott was pointing at. Sure enough, the Kanima they've been looking for. Scott jumped to action. He stood and approached the Kanima. Stiles took another drink and followed Scott. Klaus just watched them deal with the situation.
Scott dragged the Kanima to the backdoor as discreetly as he can. And fought with it outside. Stiles followed them, mountain ash in hand. Scott was trying to set the kanima up for capture as it jumped through him, claws first towards Stiles.
"Oh shit!" -Stiles ducked.
"I got you, love." -Klaus came to his rescue. Holding the kanima by the neck.
"K-Klaus... watch out for the tail!" -Stiles warned.
Klaus caught the tail with his other hand. "Thank you, love." -Klaus winked at him.
"Stiles! The mountain ash!"
Stiles quickly got up and made a circle with the mountain ash. Signaling Klaus to throw the creature in there.
"T-Thanks for saving me, Klaus."
"I won't let anyone hurt you, Stiles."
---
They returned to Deaton's with the captured kanima. They will deal with it tomorrow. Scott and Stiles bid goodnight and headed home. Scott drove off in his motorcycle. Stiles was left behind as his jeep did not want to start again.
"Having troubles?" -Klaus walked up to him.
"Uh-yeah." -Stiles gave up on the jeep. It needed towing.
"I'll give you a ride home."
"Alright."
On the ride home, Stiles was awfully quiet. He was never quiet. His house is not far but it felt like it's a hundred miles away. He thought of his situation: being driven home by a hot half vampire half werewolf who offered to bite him a while ago only to save him after.
"Uhm... hey, Klaus. I just wanna know... werewolves turn by bite, do vampires turn by bite too?"
"No. One will only turn if they die with a vampire's blood in their system. A vampire biting you won't turn you."
"How long will a vampire's blood stay in your system?"
"It depends how much you drink. A few drop, about 3 days."
"So... you gotta stay alive until it disappears from your system to avoid turning?"
"Yes. Now that you know you won't turn from a vampire bite, are you reconsidering my offered bite?"
"Oh, no! No."
Klaus laughed.
They arrived at Stiles's house. Klaus walked him up to his front door. Stiles was a curious person, very curious, even on dangerous situations. He just thought. He has seen werewolf faces. He wants to see a vampire face.
Before opening the door, Stiles asked.
"Uhm, Klaus... I'm just... I wanted to see what a vampire's face look like. For research purposes."
Klaus was taken aback by the request.
"I would show you, love. But outside here doesn't seem to be a good place."
"O-Oh, yeah. Come in." -Stiles invited Klaus as he opened the front door.
He looked back at Klaus who had that crooked smile on him. Then Stiles just realized.
'Oh shit! I just gave a vampire the invitation to come in the house! Oh well.'
He watched Klaus step in and take his coat off, hanging it by the door. Stiles stared at Klaus in his red henley that clang nicely to his chest. The sleeves nicely pushed up to the elbows, showing a toned arm. Bracelet adorned his wrists and a ring on his beautiful fingers. Klaus walked closer to Stiles, his lips close to the teen's ear again. Klaus's hand found his cheek again, thumb caressing it. Stiles swallowed, the feeling from the bar came back. Klaus tracing his moles again with his fingertips, down to his neck again.
"You wanna do it here in the hallway?"
"H-Huh?!?" -Stiles's mind was in a mush of hormones. Do what? In the hallway?
"Show you my vampire face?"
Oh! That! Yeah he did ask. "Oh, yeah. I-It's okay to do it here. The face, I mean." Stiles stepped a away a little.
Klaus looked down and when he looked up at Stiles.
"Watch carefully, Stiles. For your research purposes."
(source: google | camillaamendess)
His irises slowly changed into a golden color, his sclera darkening, black veins appearing around his eyes. His fangs showed as he smiled at Stiles. Klaus just stared at Stiles. Waiting for his reaction.
"Oh shit! W-Whow." -Stiles found himself amazed. "Cool!"
Klaus snickered at how Stiles was enjoying his true face. "You're interesting, Stiles." Klaus stated then turned his face back to normal.
"That was really cool!"
"Is there something else you want to see?" -Klaus asked rather suggestively.
"Oh-uhm, I'm good. Thanks."
"Alright. I have a long day ahead tomorrow." -Klaus took his coat and prepared to leave. "Sweet dreams, love."
"Y-Yeah. You too. Thanks again."
---
"Dude! Like seriously, it was so cool!"
Stiles immediately told Scott about Klaus's vampire face the next school day. But after all that Stiles's said, Scott could only focus on:
"You invited him in?!? Your house?!?"
"Y-Yeah, well... I know it was stupid."
"It's dangerous! Deaton specifically told us not to invite him in our houses."
"I was curious and excited, I made a mistake. He won't hurt me anyway."
All through out the school day, Stiles kept thinking about Klaus. How he exudes danger and attractiveness. And that sexy voice and accent. He wants to hear it again.
To Stiles's disappointment, Klaus was not in Deaton's clinic when they dropped by at the end of school hours.
"Hey, Deaton. Where's Klaus?"
"He's out looking for a werewolf pack north of here. For their venom."
"Did he say when he'll come back?"
"No... Stiles... you are treading on dangerous grounds."
"W-What?" -Stiles acting innocent.
"You are attracted to Klaus."
"H-Hey! I am not."
"Yes, you are." -Scott seconded. "I could sense it."
Stiles thought Klaus, being half werewolf, could just mean he also senses it.
"Damn! Okay okay. Fine. I find him extremely gorgeous and sexy."
"Stiles." -Deaton and Scott said at the same time.
"Stop. Don't give me the speech. I'm not gonna act on it okay. Besides, he's just here for a week or so."
Klaus did not return that day. Much to Stiles's dismay. Flopped onto his bed and touched his cheek and neck the way Klaus did. His fingers lingering on the spot Klaus licked. He went to sleep in hopes that the hybrid would be back tomorrow.
---
"Stiles!" -Scott ran to him. One of another kanima was on Stiles, hitting him down.
Scott wrestled the creature off of Stiles and stuck his claws on its belly, knocking it out. There have been alot of kanimas lately.
"Stiles! Are you okay?" -Scot checked him over.
Stiles had a bruise on his cheekbone and a wound on his lip. "I'm fine. Let's go."
They brought to the kanima to Deaton to have the spirit expelled back to nature. Scott went ahead and Stiles was left behind having his wound patched up by Deaton.
"Klaus hasn't come back yet?"
"No, Stiles." -Deaton said as he gave Stiles a roll of gauze for replacement tomorrow.
"Okay... thanks, I'll be going home now."
Deaton watched Stiles walk out with slumped shoulders. He had it bad for Klaus. Deaton exhaled. He couldn't blame the kid. The vampires had a certain charm to them. He only hoped Klaus wouldn't break Stiles's heart.
---
Stiles groaned as he entered his room.
"Hello, love."
Stiles almost jumped at the surprise. Klaus was in his room, sitting at his computer desk.
"K-Klaus! You're back!"
Now it was Klaus's time to get surprised. He raised his eyebrows. He dashed towards Stiles and caressed his cheek once more.
"What happened, Stiles?" -Klaus pertaining to his bruises.
"Oh, I'm okay now, Klaus. Don't worry." -Stiles leaning into Klaus's hand on his cheek.
"Who did this to you?"
"He's taken care of. Besides, when they're kanima, they don't remember what they're doing."
"Oh, love." -Klaus lifted the sleeves of his henley, bit his wrist enough to draw blood and offered it to Stiles. "Sip and you'll heal."
"Oh, uhm, Klaus I'm good." -Stiles declining.
"Come on, love. For your research purposes." -Klaus smiling.
Stiles chuckled. He was seriously considering it. He won't turn anyway.
"Stiles, please. I can't stand to see you hurt." -Klaus begged him. His eyes heavy with concern.
And that does it for Stiles.
"Okay okay, I'll sip."
Stiles took Klaus's wrist up and pressed it to his lips. He closed his eyes when he got the metallic taste in his mouth. He sucked a little more and heard a little moan from Klaus. He sucked again, wanting to hear it again. Klaus gave him another moan. Stiles felt the wound on his lips disappear. He let go of Klaus's wrist and looked at his mirror. He saw his bruise and wound heal.
"Wow. Just wow. Thanks, Klaus."
"You're always welcome, love." -Klaus rubbing his wrist.
Stiles stared at Klaus. There's something so sensual about what just happened. It might sound crazy but it was real to Stiles. It aroused him. Drinking from Klaus and hearing him moan. His head is clouded now. By hormones and attraction to Klaus.
"Klaus... does your offer still stand? You know... the bite." -Stiles felt his cheeks warm up and surely turn red.
"Hmn... it's always on the table, love." -Klaus walked up to Stiles.
"I... would like to take it." -Stiles turning his head a little, offering his neck.
"Alright, love. I'll give it to you."
Klaus grabbed Stiles's hips and pulled him closer to his own hips. Stiles took in a sharp breath.
"Ah-fuck." -Stiles muttered as he felt his erection bump against Klaus's. "Holy sh-"
Stiles was cut off by Klaus's lips on his. A hard kiss. Bruising and hot. Klaus sucking at the bottom lip, where his wound was previously.
"Mnn! Fck!" -Stiles muttered in between kisses. He grabbed onto Klaus's shoulders as he felt the hybrid lift him up and sit him on his desk.
Stiles was taking and letting out deep, quickened breaths. Klaus was trailing kisses down his neck. His erection straining in his pants. Klaus pried Stiles's legs apart and positioned himself in the middle. He pressed his crotch onto Stiles's own.
"Ahhh!" -Stiles's hand slid up to Klaus's hair, gripping at the curly blondes.
"Mnn." -Klaus hummed into Stiles's neck, licking it.
Klaus started grinding against Stiles. Feeling their erections getting harder against each other through their pants. Stiles was lost in the feeling in their crotches when Klaus bit down on his neck. It elicited a strained grunt from him. The feeling of pleasure and stinging pain mixing in him. Making his mind really cloudy. But making him utterly aroused even more.
"Ohhhh, Klaus!"
He could feel Klaus sucking now. His head spinning on the pleasure and pain. He was so high on it that he didn't even noticed Klaus had brought him over to bed, getting undressed and undressing him.
"You're beautiful, Stiles."
Stiles could only answer in moans as he took in the vision of a naked Klaus on top of him. He was broken out of his trance when he felt Klaus violently tear his shirt off.
"Hnn! Shit! I loved that shirt."
"Apologies, love. I'll replace it with one of mine."
"Fine by me." -Stiles accepted, seeing how fine Klaus's wardrobe is.
Klaus leaned back down to his neck, sucking on the wound again. Sending jolts of electricity down Stiles's erection again, making it bob.
"So aroused, love." -Klaus traced the vein on the underside of it.
Stiles moaned on that and bucked his hips. "Do something, please." white hot liquid bidding on his tip already.
Klaus grabbed him and started pumping him. Stiles then grabbed Klaus's neck to get him to kiss his lips. Stiles was so aroused that he came already. Spilling all over Klaus's hand and his own abdomen.
"Shit... sorry." -Stiles felt embarrassed wanted to cover his face.
Klaus caught his hands and kissed them. "Don't apologise, love." Then Klaus started raising his legs to his shoulders.
Stiles held his breath and gripped his sheets. Oh, he knows what's coming next. Klaus used his spill as lube and then pushed into him slowly.
"Ohhmnnn." -Stiles bit his lips. "Fuuuckkk" Stiles threw his head harder back to the pillow.
Klaus smirked, loving how he could pleasure his Stiles to this extent. He knows he can do more, but for the first time, this is enough.
Klaus stopped at the hilt and let Stiles adjust.
"You feel so good, Stiles."
"Ohmygod, it's you who feels so good. You're fcking hot!" -Stiles said, his breathing erratic, his eyes half lidded from lust and pleasure. Hands rubbing Klaus's arms.
"Hold on, love. I'll start... pounding into you. Hard." -Klaus whispered into Stiles's ear.
Stiles moaned at the dirty talking. Pound. Hard. Holy sht. Stiles wrapped his arms around Klaus's back as Klaus pulled almost all the way out and then plunged all the way in again.
'Oh fck this! Pound hard it is!' -was Stiles's last thoughts. He then found himself only knowing and only able to utter the words: oh, ah, mn, fck, and Klaus for moments after that.
He felt himself coming for the second time, clenching around Klaus. Taking the hybrid with him to climax. Klaus leaned down again and bit on his neck again.
"Stiles!" "Klaus!"
Stiles's vision was slowly overcome with white pulsing dots and his hearing deafening for a few seconds, as he kept coming. He's hands limping. Completely exhausted. Klaus pulled out of him and laid beside him. He then felt hot liquid trickle out of him.
"Oh fck Klaus!"
Then he suddenly realized why vampires were super hot. Because they can do whatever in sex, try with whoever because they do not worry about spreading or getting infections, because they absolutely don't. Bare members. No latex, no silicone covers. Deliciously skin to skin.
Klaus pulled him into a cuddle. Stiles totally accepted it. His down to cuddling after the deed. Klaus then pricked his wrist, offering his blood to Stiles.
"For this wound." -Klaus touched Stiles's neck bite.
"Oh, yeah." -Stiles accepted, taking a few sips.
---
Klaus was lazing, combing Stiles's hair with his fingers, as Stiles rests his head on his chest.
"I must go, love."
"What? Why?"
"I need to get that to Deaton." -Klaus pointing at the vial of werewolf venom.
"Oh, yeah right. You have to make a cure... but... can it wait tomorrow?" -Stiles really not wanting Klaus to go.
"Sorry, love. I also am to meet with Peter for the Hale line of venom."
"Hmn... okay." -Stiles slid off Klaus's chest. "But... can you come back later?"
"Hmn..." -Klaus was thinking it over.
Stiles looked at Klaus with his doe-y brown eyes. Klaus couldn't say no to that.
"Alright, love. I'll come back later."
"Yes!"
---
Peter was early over at Deaton's, ready to have his venom extracted.
"Well, that was easy." -Deaton started to extract it.
"This is Niklaus Mikaelson. I'm not that stupid to go against him." -Peter put on the extraction tool. "Where is he by the way?"
"On the way."
"Do forgive my tardiness." -Klaus enters, handing over the vial to Deaton. "I see, you started. Thank you. Peter."
"Anything for the king."
Klaus chuckled "Wherever your nephew is?"
"Derek is... in a heroic spree as of the moment."
"I heard he gave up his alpha powers."
"Yeah. To save his sister Cora."
"Very noble."
Klaus stayed until Peter was extracted of the required venom amount. Talking about supernatural events. Things Beacon Hills went through. People and creatures that paid a visit here.
"Deucalion? Oh bloody hell."
"Yes, real pain in the arse." -Peter threw his hands up.
Klaus just laughed real hard. Pouring himself another shot of scotch.
"But right now, it quieted down a little. Just random kanimas transforming. Scott is handling that one well... oh thank God I'm done." -Peter took out the device from his fangs and started to head out. "It was nice to meet you, king."
"I appreciate this, Peter."
With that, Klaus headed out as well. Deaton informing him that by tomorrow, Elijah and Rebekah would be awake.
When Klaus got back, Stiles was fast asleep. Poor exhausted boy. Klaus laid beside him.
---
Stiles woke up alone, feeling super exhausted. He had missed 2 classes already in his morning. He saw Klaus's letter on the desk.
-Good morning, love. I had to leave early. Elijah and Rebekah are to wake up today. P.S. As promised, replacement for your favorite shirt. I hope you like grey.-
Stiles saw then picked up the grey henley shirt. He was glad Klaus did come back last night. He tried waiting for him to come back, but he was exhausted.
Stiles wore Klaus's shirt to school that day.
"Hey, Stiles. What happened?" -Scott asked him when he stepped into their 3rd class for the day.
"Scott, dude. I was... woke up super late. Sorry."
Scott looked at Stiles's new clothes. And Stiles's goofy grin. His scent, mixed with someone else's. The scent, he recognized... Klaus.
"Stiles! You-Klaus- ohmygod!" -Scott pieced it together.
"Uhm yeah. Scott, yes."
"And your bruises? What happened?" -Scott was looking where the bruises was before.
"Oh, he healed me."
"Healed you? How?"
"Uhm... bydrinkinghisblood." -Stiles said so fast he hoped Scott didn't get it but of course, werewolf hearing.
"WHAT?!? You drunk his blood???" -Scott was in panic.
"Wait wait, calm down!"
Stiles explained about using vampire blood to heal and that it won't make you turn. Etc etc.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Stiles, I don't know. You gotta think this over. Be very careful around Klaus."
---
Rebekah heaved as she sat up in her coffin. She looked around and saw Klaus drinking scotch, and Elijah straightening his suit.
"Good morning, love." -Klaus offered Rebekah a bag of blood. "Sorry, that's all I got right now. But it's AB-."
Rebekah took it and had her fill.
"Good to see you, Deaton. I appreciate you doing right by your family's debt to us." -Elijah said, pouring himself a drink as well.
"We honor our word." -Deaton, offering Rebekah a change of clothes.
"I'm so glad you held up your promise, Nik. I seriously thought you would just leave us in our sleep." -Rebekah
"That hurts me, Rebekah." -Klaus bringing a hand to his chest. "I, as Elijah, keep my words as well. Albeit, very rarely."
"I hope our presence did not cause any trouble, Deaton." -Elijah
"No, none at all. If anything, Klaus was really helpful. Saving a little puppy in the pack quite a few times."
"Oh. That is interesting... care to introduce us to this puppy, Nik?" -Elijah knew immediately that Klaus was smitten by someone. He doesn't stick around, saving people out of whim.
"Soon enough, Elijah. Soon enough." -Klaus said with a smile.
Then Scott and Stiles came trudging in, intrigued to see the other original vampires.
"Well, too soon, I guess." -Klaus said, waving a hand towards Stiles.
"H-Huh?" -Stiles had no clue what was going on.
Elijah looked at Stiles. Doe eyed. Dark hair. Brown eyes. Beautiful.
"I'm Elijah. Nice to meet you...?" -Elijah offered his hand.
"Ah-Mieczyslaw Stilinski. Call me Stiles." -Stiles took Elijah's hand into a handshake.
Stiles has his mouth hanging, staring at Elijah. His perfectly chiseled face. That jaw! Well kept hair and beard. Sporting a suit that fits him perfectly. Definitely couture. And then he looked at Rebekah. Long, blonde hair, full lips, curves... just gorgeous.
"Uh, Klaus? Is your whole family fcking good looking?" -Stiles ogling.
Klaus just let out a sigh. "I have 2 other brothers and a sister."
"I bet, also good-looking?"
Klaus just nodded.
"Oh, do not let Kol know that, Nik." -Rebekah zoomed close to Stiles and stared at him. "Hmn-hn. He's so cute. Looks so innocent."
"Oh, love. He isn't." -Klaus winked.
Stiles blushed hard and "Oh-Okay! Ahh, anyways, uhm, hi! Welcom back to the land of the living, and dead, and undead."
"He's so adorable!" -Rebekah pinched Stiles's red cheeks. "Well. We should get going."
Stiles was knocked hard back to the reality of the situation. He looked at Klaus who was gathering his things. He approached Klaus and held his hand.
"H-Hey. You're leaving, like, right now?" -Stiles's eyes are doing these puppy eyes thing.
"Oh, love. Don't do that to me." -Klaus squeezed his hand.
"I guess we should stay a bit. Until dinner? I would like to say thanks to the pack for being accommodating." -Elijah suggested.
Klaus and Rebekah agreed. Giving Klaus and Stiles a little more time together.
---
Scott accepted Elijah's offer of thanks with a lavish dinner. The most expensive steaks and other dishes available in Beacon Hills. Drinks, bottles and cases of the rarest wines and finest liquors.
He let the whole pack attend and meet the originals.
"Intense!" -Mason's jaw dropped looking at the expensive things around him.
Liam and the others were pigging out in the steaks section. Lydia and Kira staring at the vampires.
"Which one is Klaus, Stiles?" -Lydia whispering to Stiles.
"The one with dirty blonde hair, sexy voice and accent." -Stiles proudly said.
"Oh, that one... wow, Stiles, wow!" -Lydia patting his back.
"I know, I know~ Can't believe it myself."
"Could you like... introduce me to the one in the suit?"
"Alright."
Stiles led Lydia towards Elijah and headed for Klaus.
"Hey."
"Hello, love. A drink?" -Klaus offered his glass.
Stiles took it and drank it all. "So uhm... are you... really leaving? After this?"
"Yes. Afraid so." -Klaus took the glass back from Stiles's hand, their fingers brushing past each other.
Stiles took in a deep breath, puckered his lips, and blurted out. "I like you! A lot. Please stay." Stiles said, teary eyed.
"Oh, love." -Klaus sat the glass down on the table and hugged Stiles. "I can't. I do not live here. I do not belong here, Stiles. I'm just a visitor."
"Did you ever liked me?"
"Yes, love. Yes. But I cannot stay. I have to go back home."
"Stay." -Stiles tried his brown, puppy eyes again.
"Love, please. Leaving you is already hard for me. But I have to."
"Just take me with you, then!"
"No, Stiles." -Klaus took Stiles away from everyone else. Holding his hands, he continued: "You are a very brilliant person, my love. You are so young. So much is in store for you. You have so much potential. I want you to live fully. If you are really sure you wanted to be with me, come to me to New Orleans. I'll be waiting for you."
"You better!"
"Oh, I will, however long it takes."
Elijah came calling for Klaus. It's time to leave. Stiles lost it. He hugged Klaus really tight and kissed him.
"Visit me some time?" -Stiles straightening Klaus's jacket.
"I can't promise."
"...Goodbye, Klaus."
"Goodbye, Mieczys-love." -Klaus played on his name.
"Suddenly, I love to be called that!" -Stiles hugged him one last time.
The originals bid their goodbyes to the others and in a flash, disappeared.

Author’s Note: I am once again killing two birds with one stone. This was submitted by the lovely @emmice9 for my 1500 follower challenge. And I’ll be using this for @hellotvshowtrash ‘s #february2021promptchallenge. I would also like to say that this is A BRIEF LOOK into a new series that will be coming later on in this year. All because my brain cant keep ideas to one shots. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy.
Feedback gives me life and motivation for future things.
The world has changed drastically over the centuries. The world people used to know had changed when the creatures that roamed the darkness had come out of hiding. Vampires became the superior species, creating a completely different hierarchy within the world. Those that came from money were free from the torment and slavery of the Vampires. Werewolves and witches were far and few between. And when they emerged they were a force to be reckoned with that the vampires let them be. So long as they weren't attacked, they never retaliated and stuck to their own.
For the L/N family, they had come from money. Their wealth bought their freedom from the vampires. For the two children in the family they'd never have to fear being human. For the eldest, Alexander, he wished to continue their bloodline to ensure there was a truce between the vampires and the humans of their family. But for the youngest, Y/N, she wished to become a vampire and when she was younger, her parents made a deal with the Mikaelsons to ensure her status would carry over as a Vampire.
While most girls in her age dreamed of becoming something of themselves in the world that was created around them, Y/N wanted nothing more than to be a vampire. One that wanted to change things for the better. And the way the L/Ns had it, their children were going to mend bridges.
Unfortunately, the matriarchs of the L/Ns were killed in an accident that left them as orphans. Alexander being the eldest was given the burden of being the head of household and he uncovered his parents' secrets. Before their death, his parents made a deal with another Vampire. And with their death, it broke the deal between them. It left them on the verge of bankruptcy and being tossed in with the other humans.
Y/N stood outside the double wooden doors as she listened to the muffled sounds of her brother arguing with a vampire. Alexander was in there for more than an hour speaking with the vampire that held the deal with their parents. Seeing as it was a matter for the head of house, Y/N couldn’t be in the room. But where she stood she could pick up on her fair share of things.
Most of it had been about money, or the lack thereof. Being in debt to a vampire left any human feeling unease and Alexander was no different. Especially as he looked across the table at Tristan De Martel. If there was one thing they learned, the De Martels were the downgrades of the Mikaelsons. Where the Mikaelsons held their deals in good faith, the De Martels could find a loophole within the contract to work in their favor. And that was what happened with their parents.
Y/N’s heart dropped when she heard her name being brought up in the conversation. While She couldn’t hear what was being said, she knew it had upset her brother. His voice had raised while the vampire’s remained calm. The longer her brother yelled, the more worry filled her. And the words she picked up on hadn’t made anything easier.
When the doors opened, a chill ran through Y/N as she looked over at her brother, attempting to ignore the way Tristan had gazed at her as he walked passed. The look on her brother’s face had told her this wasn’t the end of things. That the conversation he just had wasn’t an easy one and he was left with hardly any choices.
“Were you able to come to an agreement?” She asked as soon as she knew Tristian would be out of earshot, even for a vampire.
Alexander nodded as he ran his hand over his face. “One that I do not fully agree on.”
“Well?” She asked after a moment of her brother not saying anything. While she may have been able to pick up on bits and pieces of the conversation, it wasn’t everything she needed to know. And when her brother hesitated once more fear filled her.
“What did you promise the De Martels?” She asked as she took a step towards him. He didn’t know how to answer her. Not when it had to do with her. But the guilt she saw written on his face had told her everything, causing her to shake her head. “No.”
“I’m sorry Y/N.” He said as he kept his eyes on hers, even as they filled with tears.
Y/N took a step back in disbelief. “No.” She repeated. “Please tell me you didn’t.”
“I had no other choice.” He said as he watched the tears form in her eyes.
“I have a deal with the Mikaelsons, you can’t just go and make a deal with the De Martels to hand me over.”
“If it means keeping our family name in good standing, I’ll do what is needed.” He regretted the words the moment they left his mouth. But they had been true. Tristan had offered a deal and Alexander jumped on it. Tristan would clear the family’s debt and void out his parents contract if he got Y/N in return.
“You’ve sentenced me to die.” Anger began building within her. “Tristian’s humans never last.”
“You were going to die anyway.” He responded quickly, earning a hard slap across his face.
“On my terms!” She yelled. “Not by the hands of a vampire that keeps his own psychotic sister locked up! When Elijah finds out-”
“Your ties with Elijah no longer matter. Yes he gave our parents his word that you would join them. Your infatuation with each other sealing that deal. But this decision can’t be easily taken back and you know that.”
While they both know going against either families was a risk. But with the De Martels, there was a deadline that was fast approaching them. Y/N ran her hand along her face and shook her head as she turned away from her brother. She couldn’t handle this.
“Elijah might know how to get-” Before Y/N could even finish her sentence, her brother knocked her over the head with the nearest object he could reach, leaving her unconscious.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." He said as he crouched down beside her. "But I refuse to become one of them."
_____
The De Martels knew what Y/N would ment to the Mikaelsons. She was to be their saving grace. A chance to mend the world with siblings as a Vampire and her Human brother. She was also Elijah’s soon to be wife. Tristan knew he was playing a dangerous game. And because he knew her worth, he kept her hidden, away from any prying eyes that could possibly leak where she was.
Much like the other humans in De Martel's care, she had been drugged, used and abused by those within Tristan's circle. As she laid in the dark damp cell, all she wanted was to die. Her colorful dreams of the future faded to black and white wishes of death and peace as time passed.
Anger had filled Elijah the moment he stopped by to see Y/N and Alexander told him what happened. While furious with her brother he knew he'd always keep his word to Y/N to not ever harm him. It took him over a month to find Y/N's whereabouts. The moment he had her location there was no stopping him.
Elijah stormed through the De Martel home. Anyone that dared to stand against him had their hearts ripped out in a split of a second. Bodies and hearts had been left in his wake as he made his way through. Each one brought him closer to finding Y/N.
When the door keeping her in was forced open, Y/N whimpered in fear at the sound, unable to see who walked in from her position. She hadn't even begun to heal from the last time that door opened. But even as the footsteps neared, she couldn't get herself to move, her body too weak to try. Panic filled her as the footsteps ceased right next to her.
"Shh, shh," Elijah began, trying to keep Y/N calm. "It's me."
As he did, it wasn't hard to see how beaten and bruised she had been. Bite marks covered her body in several places. He had never felt so much anger before at seeing her injuries.
"'Lijah." It had been a whisper, but he heard it loud and clear.
"I got you. I promise I'm going to take care of you, okay?" He had every intention of never letting her leave his sight. He even made the promise to himself that he'd kill the De Martels with his own two hands.
But before the comfort and relief of being free set in, Y/N was rudely awakened by the sound of the door opening and shutting by the unwelcome guest.

The witch couple somehow got Rosalie to agree to their terms, much to her distaste. She still doesn’t know what it is that irks her about the couple, she does not trust them, at all but, she trusts Carlisle. Plus, right now, they have more important matters to attend to.
Various thoughts run through Rosalie’s head, as she stands in the vast snow covered field. She may not show it, but she worries for her adoptive sister as Alice strides through the field handing Aro her hand for him to go through her thoughts and visions.
“Now you know. That’s your future, unless you decide on another course.” Alice states when Aro dropped her hand in shock
Rosalie stands rigid, observing silently as she glares and snarls at their “Royalty”, eyes pitch black. She knows in herself that she would do everything for her family, even if it costs her, her life. She stands there, watching as another hybrid walks into the field, she watches as they question him, She watches as Bella sags slightly in relief knowing that Renesmee is immortal and finally, she smiles knowing that they’ve won as the red-coated vampires blurs into the distance.
Joyous screams of victory rips through the air as she joins her family as they rejoice, happy that they did not have to fight the Volturi today. Together, they walk back to their house where their witnesses say their farewells and leaving.
“We won!” Maggie squeals are she rushed into Rosalie’s arms with Emmett trailing behind her
“Yeah, Yeah. Now I have to suffer an immortal life with the smell of wet dog wafting through the air.” Rosalie smirks
“Hey! I heard that!” Jacob complains
“Tsk. You were supposed to.” She retorts as she walks to Carlisle who was holding Esme in his arms.
But as she was walking, she was suddenly thrown into a void, cold, dark, and starry? She was confused as she looks around, panicking when she couldn’t move.
“What the fuck is going on?!” She tries to move her body but she couldn't, she then feels her body get thrown around like a rag doll.
“This is worse than being forced to ride that death machine. What was is called? Rollie? Roller coaster?” She grumbles in her head as she wills herself to not puke. She didn't even think vampires could still be nauseous.
That went on for what seemed to be hours before she was finally dropped into the ground. Opening her golden eyes, her orbs seemed to hyper focus on the gigantic trees and the creatures that live in it. Her ears then pick up the sound of groaning, turning her head, she sees the rest of her family sprawled all over the forest floor.
“Oh my God! Amore! You didn't have to paralyze them that hard!” Veronica thumps Amore in the head.
“I sincerely apologize for what she has done. We needed to take you far away from Forks, The Volturi Coven changed their minds and decided to ambush you and your witnesses. Fear not, your witnesses have been teleported to their homes safe and sound.” Veronica explains while still glaring at the pouting Amore.
“What was that anyways?” Edward groans as he sits up'
“Teleportation. I needed to paralyze you, that lowers the chance of you losing a limb.” Amore explains while Veronica cast a cloud of blue upon them, seemingly healing their “injuries”
“Cooooool. Can we do it again?” Emmett brightens like a child getting a puppy for the first time.
“No.” They all deadpanned at him making Veronica and Amore chuckle.
“Well, I suggest we get going now, even with our speed, it's still a long way to run.” Veronica dusts herself off as she and Amore help the family up and the still dazed shifters.
“Long way to run where?” Jacob asks, utterly confused.
“To the palace of course.” Veronica smiles
“It's high time you guys meet the Queen.” Amore smirks and winks as she speeds off, followed by Veronica then the Cullens and then the Black Pack.
Anastasia pinched her temples in pure stress, the Cullens were coming to visit and everything was in utter chaos. Mud was smeared all over the walls, broken dishes and glass cluttered the floor as little children run past her, screaming her ears off.
“Lance, darling. Clean this up before I rip someone's head off. Make sure this place is spotless before the guests arrive. Get the pups back to their mothers, the children back to the village and contact Maxine, there's a few shifters accompanying the Cullens. I'll be in my lab.” She orders her personal butler who scrambles around trying to get people to help him.
Anastasia ventures down, down until she reaches her own personal laboratory where she herself develops her own type of blood. She's repulsed by the thought of drinking from a clueless human no matter how annoying they are and disgusted at the thought of killing an innocent animal just so she could satiate her desire of drinking blood. And because of this artificial blood, her eyes slowly turn into the rich dark violet that it is now.
As she works, combining different substances and powders that vary colors, her mind drifts to a certain blonde girl. Anastasia for the life of her, cannot even think of what she would do where she faces the blonde beauty, not when her heart if filled with guilt.
1932 Rochester, New York
Anastasia roamed the streets as she keeps her eyes trained on the single glowing golden string attached to her, amongst the other colors. She was born this way, even when she was just a little human, she could always see strings. Of course her feeble mind at that time didn't understand what it was, but now she could. As a vampire, she practiced and willed her strings to be more color coded, since the mere chaos of tangled strings give her a headache. The strings connected each creature in this world, once you make an acquaintance, a blue string connects the two of you and that soon escalates into different colors, However, one color lets her see soulmates, and that's green, which is why she's now following this glowing gold string to wherever it may go. She was tempted to just yank the string as hard as she could and let the creature on the other side find her but somehow, something was holding her back.
As she walked the streets of New York, head held high, she also ignored the stares that she got while walking. She knew why of course, her Italian clothing much different from the posh American clothing everyone around her has, not to mention she was wearing clothes meant for “men” but she never was the one to abide to gender constructs. She also couldn't, for the life of her, think about what she would do when she meets the creature on the other end of the string. Should she kill it? Should she keep it? Should she protect it? Should she-
Her thoughts were then interrupted when her eyes suddenly tunnel visioned. There 'it' was, the 'creature' on the other end of her string, 'it' was actually a woman. An insanely attractive human, being fawned over by boys as she walks by and she was smiling at the small group girls crowding her. Anastasia could suddenly feel the emotions of the said woman: Happiness, Pride, and a little twinge of loneliness and sadness. Anastasia's heart (despite being half-dead) tightened in her chest, she wanted to do everything and anything to make the woman happy. She didn't even care that she just saw her mere minutes ago, she wanted her and only her. And that's when she realized, this woman, no, this angel was meant to be hers. But then again, Anastasia knew that the woman was too good for her, she doesn't deserve this life of pain and eternal suffering, seeing the people you once loved grow old and eventually die, yet she also knew that she cannot live without her, so she settled with being her protector.
“Mr. Lombardi? Did I pronounce that right?” Mr. Hale questioned her, she had managed to manipulate her looks to make her look like a man.
“Yes sir.” Anastasia answered, she named herself Gioele for the sake of her facade.
“And why should I let you protect my daughter?” Mr. Hale raised his eyebrows, staring at the 'guy' infront of him.
“With The Great Depression still happening, I believe your daughter might be in danger. You and your success may make you a target for those who are below you, poor unfortunate...” She trailed off, her moral compass preventing her from saying derogatory words but she knew she had to play by his personality and rules
“We do not talk about them.” Mr. Hale deadpanned
“Yes sir.” 'Gioele' agreed, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
“Very well then. You have piqued my interest. One wrong move and you'll find yourself hanging on a rope by your neck.” He threatened just as someone entered.
“Father? Mother requested your presence.” Anastasia's eyes widen when she hears the soft, melodic voice right behind her.
“Rosalie! Perfect timing. This is Gioele Lombardi, he will be protecting you from those awful lowlifes scattered around the streets.” Mr. Hale introduces Anastasia to Rosalie who in turn looked at her.
“Rosalie. Rosalie Hale.” She introduces her self while Anastasia promply goes down on one knee and kisses her hand.
“My Pleasure.” She smiled, seeing the faint blush on Rosalie's cheeks.
Anastasia stood up, offering her arm to Rosalie who accepted and they both followed Mr. Hale outside, Anastasia holding up an umbrella to shield Rosalie and herself from the sun. She didn't sparkle as much as other vampires do but it would have been really suspicious when people see her faint sparkle as her marble like skin hits the rays of the sun.
And in that afternoon alone, Rosalie Hale became more popular, people talked about the attractive guard and of course Rosalie's beauty. Anastasia was annoyed at how people spoke about her and her mate, while they were walking around the city. Rosalie noticed and distracted her by asking her questions and answering questions directed to her as well.
Anastasia just felt herself fall even more as days pass by, She would sit by Rosalie's side while she reads her books, She would accompany her on walks and would help her pick flowers as well. She knew all about Rosalie but Rosalie only knew things Anastasia want her to, that doesn't include the fact that she's a woman and not a man and also the fact that she's an actual vampire. And that proved to be in her disadvantage later on.
A year pass by quickly with Anastasia enjoying every single second she spends with her soulmate, she could feel Rosalie radiating happiness whenever she's around, but of course, Rosalie was getting suspicious as well. It may be because of that one time where they were caught in the rain and their umbrella was much too small for 2 persons so Anastasia insist on Rosalie using it, leaving her wet, making her clothes stick to her body, and even under the dim light, Rosalie could make out a feminine body, toned but still feminine and that left her thinking if she truly knew her guard as well as she thought she did.
One day, Rosalie was sent on an errand to deliver her father's 'forgotten' lunch, and Anastasia knew it was a bunch of shit. She heard the couple discussing their plans to hopefully attract the attention of Royce King II and they succeeded, she had to watch as Rosalie and Royce flirt with each other, with her silently seething, forgotten. She had to hide her growls and snarls whenever flowers would be delivered at the Hale Household, but she couldn't do anything, Rosalie deserved someone who could grow old with her, and not a half-ling abomination like her. So she accepted the fate she wished upon herself and made the hardest decision of her life.
The day Rosalie was engaged, she packed her bags and set to leave but unfortunately, Rosalie caught her. And what she did that day, she still regrets up until now.
“Gioele? You are leaving.” Rosalie states, stunned.
“Don't. Don't stop me Ms. Hale. Or should I say Mrs. King?” Anastasia spat out, and she internally flinched when she saw the pain in Rosalie's eyes.
“Where did this come from Gio?” Gio, Rosalie's nickname for her alter ego. She couldn't handle it anymore and looked around before gently dragging Rosalie into an empty room in their house.
“Look, my name's not Gioele.” Anastasia removes the glamour she placed on herself and watched as Rosalie stare at her in shock.
“It's Anastasia. And yes. I am leaving. You are to be married to Royce King II and I cannot get in between that.” She stares at Rosalie's eyes, hoping to relay her feelings, but Rosalie was still much too hurt from her best friend lying to her.
“You lied. You broke two of your promises Lombardi. Is that even your real surname? It is not, is it? God. Why must I be so stupid! Go! Leave! Find some other woman to lie to!” Rosalie walks away from her
“Rosalie! Wait!” She tried to chase after her but Rosalie just turned around and slapped her, she was shocked, not only because the love of her life slapped her, it's also because Rosalie managed to crack the base of her neck. She lifted her hand to cover the cracks that were covering the base of her marble like neck.
“Rose...” She stared at Rosalie.
“Leave.” Rosalie glared, and Anastasia knew that this was her chance... to let go of her soulmate... in the most painful way possible.
“Fine...” She growled out “...I never liked you anyways, You self-centered, smug woman who only lives to please her father and the people around you. I hope you and your cold heart enjoy your loveless marriage!” She grabs her bags and walks away, not bothering to turn back, knowing that if she sees Rosalie's face and the raw emotions in her eyes, she'll just turn back and beg for forgiveness.
But of course, she couldn't stay away, no matter how hard she tried, she just can't so she lingered, hiding herself in the shadows, watching as Rosalie walked the paths they used to walk on, with Royce accompanying her, his arm hooked on hers as they chatted happily. It took everything in Anastasia to not rip off Royce's head whenever she knew he was making Rosalie uncomfortable and It took everything in her to not steal Rosalie away from him.
She was lingering around Vera's house, Rosalie was in there, cradling the baby boy in her arms as she cooed at him. Anastasia smiled as she saw her mate being all cute, she longed to have that with her, but alas she couldn't.
She was just enjoying herself when suddenly a body slammed into her, they fought for the upper hand as they kept tumbling around. Anastasia would straddle the man and he would flip her as well, she knew he was a vampire and didn't bother to pull her punches, cracking his marble like skin while he, in turn would also punch her face. The only difference they had was, Anastasia is actually bleeding. After what went on like hours, something snapped, Anastasia knew something was wrong with her mate so her eyes glowed a bright red, she threw the man off her and tied him with her strings. She growled at him before speeding off, following the slowly fading golden string. She ran as fast as she could, but she was too late.
“Rose?” she stared in horror as the body of her beloved, sprawled on the sidewalk, bleeding out.
“Stasia?” She turned her head and saw Carlisle standing behind her.
“Carlisle! I beg of you, Please save her. Turn her Carlisle please!” Anastasia begged Carlisle
“What happened? I smelt the blood.” Carlisle knelt beside the barely alive Rosalie.
“Turn her first then I'll explain.” Anastasia choked out as she closed her eyes just in time for Carlisle's teeth sinking into Rosalie's skin
She shook with anger and decided that she'll chase after whoever did this to her, her ears hyper focused, trying to find whoever did it. And that's when she heard it: Royce King II.
“I need to find a new fiancee now.” He laughed as his friends expressed their joy in letting them-
Anastasia let out a loud guttural growl as she prepared to speed away but Carlisle held her back.
“Don't. She needs you first.” Carlisle motioned to Rosalie who's writhing in pain. She immediately scooped her mate into her arms and followed Carlisle's mate string, which led her to a two floor house, she barged in with Carlisle hot on her heels.
“Lay her here.” He instructed the distressed Queen.
“Will she be okay Carlisle?” She asked the doctor as he kissed his mate in her forehead.
“Yes. Give it a couple of days, Your Highness.” Carlisle reassured her as she swallowed back her sobs.
“Very well. Uh. My apologies, I barged in without your permission. My name is Anastasia. You must be Carlisle's lover?” She offered her hand to the older woman who in turn just gave her a hug.
“It's fine. Really. You are welcome here. Carlisle told me all about you.” Esme smiled and Anastasia just smirked at Carlisle.
“Still thinking about me Cullen?” Anastasia teased, taking Rosalie's hand into hers and gripping it, calming her nerves.
“He talks about you everyday.” Esme smiled at her.
Anastasia was about to reply when the doors opened and in came...
“You.” Anastasia growled and lunged at the man. He dodged but she caught his arm and used her momentum to flip him over, throwing him through the wall and into the backyard, making him land flat on his back. The man coughed as Anastasia straddled him, planting her foot to the ground, her strings glowing a bright red as they wrap around him as she slowly ripped his head off.
“Anastasia! He's my son!” Carlisle cried out as Anastasia snapped at him, eyes widening in surprise.
“He's yours?” Anastasia's eyes glowed a bright red and Carlisle felt his entire body shiver.
“Y-Yes.” Carlisle stuttered, the murderous aura surrounding Anastasia triggering his fight or flight.
“He is the reason why I didn't get to my mate fast enough. He lunged at me for no reason, leaving my mate in a vulnerable position AND LOOK WHERE SHE IS RIGHT NOW! SHE'S FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE CARLISLE!” Anastasia's body shook in anger
Carlisle could see the cracks growing on Edward's skin, and he slowly approached the furious queen. He managed to calm Anastasia down by sending calming waves into his strings, decades of working alongside the queen was proven to be useful in this moment. The ropes that were once wrapped around Edward slowly loosened until they retreated back into her body.
Edward wheezed as he moved away from her while Anastasia composed herself.
“Teach your son better manner s, Carlisle or the next time we meet, you'll see his decapitated head decorating the Volturi Walls.” Anastasia threatened as she walks calmly back into the house through the wall that she made and sat beside her unconscious mate. She noticed the golden string slowly go back to it's natural glow, which made her sigh in relief.
A couple of hours pass by and Anastasia was feeling hungry, she asked for Carlisle's help in looking for food in the forest and he told her where the majority of the animals lived and she set off. While she was hunting, she couldn't help but feel like she failed Rosalie. She let her become something that she protected her from. A Vampire.
Once she had her fill, she slowly walked back to where Carlisle lives, delaying her arrival as much as possible, dreading the fact that she knew Rosalie was awake. She could feel it. She took a deep breath and opened the door, making everyone's head snap towards her. Her eyes caught Rosalie's and instantly, they connected, more so than before, which means that Anastasia feels what Rosalie feels 100 times more than before. Pain, Sadness, Longing and Hatred. And that's when she knew, she knew that Rosalie hated her. Her soulmate hated her. The thought weighed on top of her, slowly crushing her heart, she physically gasped for breath as she could feel Rosalie's anger increased tenfold.
“Rose. Let me-”
“Don't Anastasia. Do what you do best, leave.” Rosalie answered her, putting emphasis on her real name. She tried to move closer but Rosalie only moved and sped out of the house, with Carlisle trailing after the newborn.
She was about to follow as well when Edward stopped her.
“I apologize for my actions earlier, I truly believed that you were preying on them, that's why I attacked you, but you should really trust me when I say that you shouldn't follow her. She's angry.” Edward quickly explained
“And how do you know that?” She asked.
“I can read minds.” Edward simply states, nodding at her.
Anastasia nodded, defeated and sat on a chair with Esme right beside her.
“Give her some time.” Esme advises, rubbing the girl's back.
She gritted her teeth when she felt Rosalie's pain. Not physical, emotional. And she has the power to take it away. But with a great price. A price she was willing to take.
When the Cullen family was complete, with Rosalie, Anastasia quickly worked her gift. Wrapping her strings around them and re-writing their memories, without her in it. Except for Carlisle's, she left some memories of him working alongside her while in the Volturi. Once she finished, she quickly speeds away and forces herself to leave the memories and pain she just took into the back of her mind as she wiped her bleeding nose, her body collapsing under a big tree due to the exhaustion.
She was pulled back into reality when the beaker she was holding in her hand exploded, drenching her in artificial blood. She gritted her teeth, there were two things that could've happened. One, she mixed the wrong chemicals while day dreaming or two, Amore decided to switch the labels again.
She checked everything, and then found out the second one was the truth, she stormed out of her lab, blood dripping from every inch of her body. Her annoyance clouded her brain, forgetting that she sent Amore to pick up the Cullens and if she was here, then so were The Cullens.
She spotted Amore from afar and sped towards her, slamming her against the brick walls of her “castle” . She hated that term.
“What did I tell you about switching my labels Lewis?! Look at me! Blood is in every crevice in my body! There's blood in parts that I didn't even knew were exposed!” She growled out
“Well, to be f-fair, You aren't wearing your usual lab attire so that's partially your fault.” Amore choked out. Anastasia just growls in response.
“Stasia, calm yourself. First impressions are important.” Veronica waves her hand and Anastasia's clothes were back to normal, dry and there was no trace of blood anywhere.
First Impressions? Anastasia then mentally facepalmed herself. She had forgotten the Cullen Family. She releases Amore, then turned to the family, recalling her speech, she started to talk.
“Hello. Sorry you had to see that, but you should really get used to it. My name is Anastasia...” She drifted off as her violet orbs met golden ones. In her brief moment of surprise, she unknowingly let down her guard, causing her previously cast spell break. She knew that her mate would be there and she mentally prepared herself but turns out, she wasn’t prepared at all. When she recovered from her shock, she could feel that her spell had been broken. The entire coven looked at her with various emotions: Happiness, Confusion, Longing and Familiarity. She may or may not have met all the members before and also wiped their memories.
“Gio...” Rosalie whispered.
“Shit...” Anastasia cursed, she somehow knew this would happen, just not this soon.
“Rose...” She stared at her mate for what seemed like years before Rosalie glared at her with so much anger she didn't know it was possible, and stormed off. Again.
'She always does that.' Anastasia sighs.
“Well, that secret's out. I'll escort you to you ro-”
“We'll do it. Chase after her.” Veronica pats her back before escorting the Family to their respective chambers, but Carlisle stayed behind.
“That... was messed up Anastasiarine.” Carlisle expressed his disappointment before pulling the girl in a brief hug.
“I missed you too Cullen.” She whispered before letting go to chase after her mate.
“I'm sorry. Please forgive me.” She sent that thought to the Cullen Family, including Rosalie and went back to what she did 75 years ago.
She was once again, chasing the glowing gold string.

A list of petty hedge-magicks that work against Dream of The Endless...
Rules, rules, rules...
The Endless are powerful beings but there are laws that govern the universe that they are slaves to obey. These rules include old magicks.
Now, the summoning spell, itself, could have easily been brushed off if Morpheus had not been weakened, but once summoned it was certain “Petty hedge-magicks” that held him for over seventy-two-years.
Morpheus has (at least twice) referred to some of these old spells as “Petty hedge-magicking.” Hedge-magick usually means low level, weak, or amateurish, spell casting. Or as I like to say “Something he woefully under-estimates.”
Here are some of the petty hedge-magicks that have worked against Dream of The Endless.
1. A summoning / binding circle. In many occult practices a summoning circle can double as a binding circle and whatever you summon within it cannot leave the circle until banished or if the circle is breached.
Often these sort of circles are based on figures from the key of Solomon. They can be drawn with things as simple as white chalk. It’s the symbols and the beliefs behind them that matter.
The pentacle design in the summoning spell in Sandman is very elaborate and full of actual arcane symbols from alchemical sigils and Futhark runes and I think I see Hebrew in there. It’s a magical hodgepodge. I won’t go into too much detail about these because some of them are hard for me to see in the illustration even when I enlarge it.
However...
Notice the use of the pentacle at the four points of the circle. In the Sleep of the Just splash page (issue 1 of The Sandman) I can only see two points but I believe there is a pentacle at the North, South, East, and Western points of the circle.
The pentacle is NOT Satanic in nature, despite popular misconception. It is an ancient symbol of elemental magicks. Each point is an element. Water, Fire, Earth, air, and spirit at the top. Water, Fire, Earth, and Air are each associated with a direction. For example, water is associated with the west. (Ironic that The Wicked Witch of the West was destroyed with water, isn’t it?)
The pentacle is a fairly ancient Pagan symbol however it also has had popular use in Christian lore.
In one folk belief a ring with a pentacle on it was given to King Solomon by the Archangel Michael and this helped enable him to bind djinn or demons.
in Goethe’s Faust Part 1 we find out that a pentacle used as a protection ward over the entrance of Faust’s home can successfully ward against demons. In German lore the pentacle was once known as the Drudenfuss (The Druid’s foot.) The demon, Mephistopheles AKA Mephisto, is only able to get in the home because one of the points didn’t quite meet the edge of the circle. However the pentacle was correct enough that he could not leave until the pentacle was destroyed.
In the 1941 film The Wolfman the pentacle could be used to ward off the werewolf, prevent the werewolf transformation (when worn by the werewolf), and would appear in a vision to the werewolf on the next victim as a warning.
This carried over into the TV series Dark Shadows, which used the same rules for its own werewolves. However Dark Shadows preferred to use the unbound pentacle (without the circle around the star). This carried over to the 1981 film An American werewolf in London where the tavern “The Slaughtered Lamb” was warded against the werewolf with a similar unbound pentacle. And was possibly drawn in lamb’s blood (More on that later).
2. The crystalline cage.
While the circle holds Morpheus incorporeally, the crystalline cage holds his material aspect (his physical form). This cage isn’t merely glass though there is an irony to it being glass as glass is made from sand. Sand that has been transformed into something else. The Sandman trapped by sand... Ha! That must have pissed him off...
Anyway, it’s not purely glass. It’s leaden quartz crystal. In folk belief from many parts of the world quartz crystal can absorb and contain magick. In some lore it can even trap a ghost. Modern day Wiccans and other Neo Pagans often use quartz crystal in spellcasting. It’s a common tool in scrying practices.
That and it is an aspect of sand...
3. True name. Though Dream of The Endless is more of a function than a name, the aspect known as Morpheus is so much a part of his identity that on some level he must perceive it as his true name. Hence why he hears and answers to it when Rose Walker calls out to him.In folklore if you know a supernatural creature’s true name that’s how you can invoke or banish them. It’s also why you should never give a fae your full true name. They can use it to cast magick against you.
The story of Rumpelstiltskin uses this rule as once the queen knew the imp’s true name she was able to banish him.
You see it all the time in pop culture such as summoning The Candyman by calling his name five times, or Beetlejuice- you can invoke or banish him by calling his name three times. Or the old party game of Bloody Mary. A true name isn’t necessarily the name you were given at birth. A true name is the name you most heavily associate with yourself. The Endless supposedly don’t have true names but the aspect of Dream of The Endless that answers to the name Morpheus certainly treats it as his true name.
4. A circle drawn in the blood of a black lamb. This one has it’s origins in Exodus. The passover story. It was the blood of the lamb that kept the angel of death from entering the Jewish homes so that the angel could claim the first born of every Egyptian family and passover the slave homes. Because of this there was established lore that the blood could protect against demons and angels. Lamb’s blood was used in early exorcisms and sometimes as a sacrament in place of sacramental wine. In the TV show Forever Knight it could even ward against vampires if blessed or with faith behind its power by the person trying to use it as a ward.
5. A geas tattoo in the form of the tree of life merged with a dreamcatcher. As Dream is not of any particular race and represents the dreams of all sentient life, symbols of faith in regard to dreams will work on him (on some level) from all beliefs.
This one from the 2018 The Dreaming by Simon Spurrier is a combination of the Tree of Life from Kabbalah mysticism combined with a dreamcatcher sacred among Native American / First Nations / Great Plains cultures. According to popular belief if you hang a dream catcher over the bed it will protect against nightmares. The nightmares will be caught in the net while good dreams can pass through. The nightmares burn up in the early morning sunlight. As Dream of The Endless is the anthropomorphic personification of both dreams and nightmares this ward can successfully bind him.
A geas, by its very nature, is a spell to prevent someone from revealing something, or to force them to say or do something, or in most cases prevent them from saying or doing something in particular.
In light of how often he has been thwarted with petty hedge-magick, this ultimately leads to the realization that Dream’s true greatest enemy is the master of all hedge-magick, the Arch Hedge-Wizard!
I know that’s a long way to go for a cheesy pun but I couldn’t resist...

The Salvatore Surprise Part 1
From outside the tomb Stefan and Katherine heard a loud noise and they raced to the entryway to see what it was. Only for Katherine to stop completely with a loud gasp as the man comes into view from where they stand. Breathing heavily Katherine says “Elijah” almost out of breath from fear.
“Good evening Katerina, Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened.” And then facing Stefan “your release has been requested” “What? By who?” “The lovely Elena drives a hard bargain. However, we reached a peaceful agreement. She and I. Please, come.” “I can’t” “Yes, you can I have had the spell lifted.” As Stefan slowly and unsurely leaves the tomb Katherine attempts to escape and the Elijah speeds to block her path saying “As for you however, you shall exit until I say so. When Klaus comes he will like to know exactly where you are” And then Elijah turns to move away after he is done compelling Katherine but in desperation to not be captured by Klaus after all this time. She yells out helplessly “Elijah don’t you need me. I have a true bargain that you cannot refuse. If you let me out I will tell you the location of Isabella Salvatore. Come on we have both been through the sacrifice ritual, we both know you need a powerful witch if you are planning to beat Klaus. Do not be naïve enough to think that Bennett witch can do it, we both know there is nothing more powerful then the Salvatore hybrid.” He rushes over to her and compels her “tell me where I might find and contact Isabella?” “55 rue Nationale Paris, lle-de-France, 75004.Her number is 01.64.22.29880” Katherine tells him with a dazed look in her eye. “Thank you for your cooperation” Elijah tells Katherine as he makes his exit. Katherine begs Stefan to stay and to not let Elijah keep her locked in there. Stefan makes his way over to her “Why would you tell Elijah where Izzy is, he will just use her.” Stefan tells Katherine irritated. Ever since Isabella rejoined her brothers in 1917 after something happened to the person who turned her into the hybrid that she is now, she has been traveling the world to check up on different covens but after an incident where she was severely tortured she has also been staying away from people that would try to use her for her gifts. “My darling, Stefan, do you truly know nothing about your older sister?” “Katherine, cut the shit, what do I not know?” “In 1864 when you, Damon, and Izzy were turned into vampires, I was trying to escape Mystic Falls when I heard that there was a Mikaelson was coming into town. If I had known it was only Kol I might have stayed, but nevertheless. I wasn’t the person that turned Isabella into a vampire it was Kol Mikaelson and afterwards he left with her.” “I’ve heard the name before, I remember Emily telling us about how Kol Mikaelson is the reason she hates vampires. But what does that have to do with my sister and Elijah.” “For someone that is so pretty you are not that bright. The Originals are a family of vampires: The oldest Finn and then it goes Elijah, Klaus, Rebekah, and then the youngest sibling Kol. You have no need to fear of Elijah, he won’t hurt Isabella. She might be a Salvatore by blood but she is an honorary Mikaelson.”
My Phone rang from where it was sitting on the table for the twenty sixth time, showing yet another missed call. Along with the texting notification ding. And I was debating whether to answer it or not, people do not tend to be this persistent to call you this many times at two in the morning. I can only fathom two types of situations that would entice such persistence: it is either the mikaelson’s calling to inform me that my sire has been undaggered and is being intolerable in the lack of my presence or that their family was facing imminent doom and in consequence to my loyalty to my sire and his family my presence is truly inescapable, and the other option is that it is my own brothers. As my phone started ringing again I decided to answer as the caller was obviously not going to stop. I took long strides across the room to the coffee table that my phone was sitting on, I however did not make it in time as the call had rung through to the voicemail leaving my multitude of notifications visible.
26 MISSED CALLS – UNKNOWN CALLER
4 VOICEMAILS – UNKNOWN CALLER
5O TEXT MESSAGES – MAYBE: ELIJAH MIKAELSON
However, Elijah called you again ever persistent to get a hold of you.
“ What do you want?”
“Well here I was at least thinking I would get a proper welcome from my darling. Seeing as you finally figured out how to use your phone. I missed you.”
“Me too. But you of all people ‘lijah wouldn’t call for no reason. So I shall repeat myself, What do you want?”
“Straight to the point I see” I could hear Elijah’s laughing through the phone. “ Whatever happened to my loving Isabella that would give cute pet names and light jokes when I called her. Have you fallen so far to not remember what we were to one another: Always and Forever is what we once swore to one another.”
“ What happened to her was that you and your brother daggered the one person that ever loved me enough to protect and help keep my magic in check. And then you guys threw him in a box like he did not matter. That is what happened to her.”
“ Isabella do not make a mockery of the family, we did what we had to do to make sure that our family was safe. He threatened our family’s safety.”
“Oh, the ever noble Elijah. How dare you speak of Kol like he was some enemy coming for your family. He just seeked to protect himself against klaus’ daggers. Can you really blame him, as of now he has been boxed for nearly a century.”
At this point I am getting irritated, I tolerate no bad mouthing of any kind from anyone against my sire.
“ I have a proposition for you. I am in Mystic Falls currently and I would like for you to accompany me, I have found and located the human Petrova Doppelganger. I plan to lure Klaus into town with this information and I would like for you to help me kill him and in exchange for him I will give you Kol.”
“Thats one hell of a proposition Mikaelson, I would have come if all you desired was either my company or help. But I can hardly pass up the opportunity to be reunited with my sire.”
“Thank you darling we shall go over the specifics when you arrive. I have already sent to address to your phone. I love you.” And with that he hung of the phone and I am left to my thoughts of reuniting with Kol and all the family drama in between. Mystic Falls is not prepared for the power and Family betrayal that is about to descend upon it.

In Another Life - Part 8
Masterlist (x)
A/N: Hello & welcome back. First of all, I want to thank you all for your continuous support and feedback. It means a lot to me ♥ Chapter 8 of 'In Another Life' is by far the longest chapter I've ever written with its 13k words and I can promise it's going to be a rollercoaster full of feelings. I also decided to update this chapter on Katherine's 548th birthday, so please enjoy and wish our queen a good birthday. Regarding the question about Nadia's whereabouts: She's not involved in this story yet. That's either because she wasn't introduced yet or because she had left after Katherine killed her boyfriend in 5x08 and told her to rot in hell. Still need to think about what option it's going to be. :) Little hints of Klaroline will be present in this chapter. I hope you enjoy it and please make sure to leave feedback ♥
English is not my first language
→ I do not own anything of the TVD - Universe and I’m not affiliated or associated with the writers etc. This is only a headcanon/fanfiction.
Pairing: Kalijah ( Katherine / Elijah )
TW: death, accident, hospitals

After the car stopped in the parking lot and the engine turned off, Elijah didn't immediately get out of the car. Instead, he took in a shaky breath and leaned his head back against the headrest. His eyes closed as he tried to compose. Not once had he thought that visiting a hospital would be as unnerving as it is now. And while he often donates generous sums of money to hospitals, he never really felt emotionally impacted by them. They were hospitals, people die there but people could also be healed. People are born in them, people get diagnosed with diseases in them, people are treated in them. Nothing that affects a vampire in the slightest, nothing that's even worth paying attention to. For some vampires, the blood bags stored in them were interesting but apart from that, vampires don't concern themselves with it.
Perhaps his donations are made out of a guilty conscience to give humankind something back to lessen the evils of his family. Nonetheless, he has never dreaded to set a foot in a hospital as much as he dreads it right now, not knowing how his visit is going to turn out.
During his drive, he had tried to not think too much about the 'what if it's her'. Because he, perhaps foolishly, believed that his Katerina won't die because of a mere car crash (however, how many humans already did die because of them?). That would not be an end that befits a person like her. A person as attentive as she could not be run over by a car. But didn't the article said something about a car crash? Some accidents cannot be prevented, no matter how attentive that person is. But no! He didn't even want to consider the possibility of such a thing as the mere thought, the mere thought experiment made him sick beyond repair.
Elijah shuddered and his eyes snapped open as that dreadful imagine started to form in his mind again: Katerina's pale, petite body strained with blood that kept flushing out her gaping wounds, her bones smashed, her chocolate brown eyes wide open but empty and lifeless.
He gritted his teeth and tried to compose himself to not let his despair out on something. The horrible apprehension that his search could come to an abrupt end when he finds her dead body drove him mad and let him almost forget his confidence that it's not her the article was about.
Nonetheless, he gulped hard, his gaze wandering down to his shaking hands which he clenched into fists in a weak attempt to get control over his body. Without success. His gaze began to become rigid as he continued to stare down at his hands, his subconscious letting him think that his hands started to be soaked with her blood, telling him that her death could have been prevented if he had just been a bit faster, a bit more forceful and energetic. If he hadn't left her, if he had made sure that Katerina was doing well after he had left.
Eventually, he found the strength to fight the inner demons, the blame he subconsciously gave himself, and he blinked, the imagined blood vanishing from his hands. Nonetheless, the guilt was still there.
"What happens if something goes wrong? You know that there are many people who'd do anything to gain power over you if they need something from you. What if someone thinks I'd made good leverage?" "Is that the reason why you refuse to officially accompany me to the meeting with the local witches?" "I'm not really keen on witches, Elijah. And a girl is going to look out after herself. I don't want to get involved with Original's drama because I certainly don't like being a weak spot." "Oh, I doubt that you're ever going to be a weak spot." "Unlike you, I can easily die. A witch doesn't even have to touch me to drive a stake through my heart." "You have nothing to fear from these witches, they are associates. Besides, I won't ever let anything happen to you or anyone harm you, Katerina. You have my word."
The memories echoed through his mind as he opened and closed his fists, still trying to prevent his hands from shaking. What a hypocrite he had been.
He went to New Orleans to prevent her from coming to harm at Niklaus' hands but at the same time, he was too mindless to properly think it through. Whatever led to Katerina's transitioning into a human, he should have been supposed to know it earlier. Not finding it out because of some unanswered calls and a conversation with his sister. He should have tried harder to keep a tap on her, no matter how much it would have broken his heart to know he cannot be with her at that time. He should have considered the other dangers, especially with the cure and Silas still being around whose intentions were unclear at the time being. Of course, he believed that Katerina could take care of herself and never get herself into a life-threatening situation because, in his eyes, Niklaus had always been the greatest threat, and with him going and being occupied in New Orleans, Elijah thought she would be safe. That she'd be safer without him. Furthermore, Elijah believed that Katerina is an extraordinary person who is very capable of fighting her own battles.
He shouldn't have assumed that everything is going to be turn out okay after he left. And that had been his mistake, his fault. The reason why blame kept weighing him down because she obviously had needed him, even called him, and he wasn't capable of helping her. Because the dagger in his heart, put there by his own brother, prevented him from protecting her and not coming sooner to her aid.
His promise, an empty shell of words if the worst comes true.
He wouldn't have caused her death directly, but her death would still be indirectly his fault if he should find out that it's indeed her that was stored in the hospital.
Elijah pressed his lips together into a thin line as he finally lifted his gaze and stared out of the windshield, directly at the hospital building. His hands closed into tight fists again and he took in a deep breath, telling himself that there's still hope. Still hope that it's not her and instead some stranger he doesn't know.
Yet he still couldn't get out of the damn car, his muscles still immobilized by the tight hold of fear that grabbed his heart.
As long as he didn't get out of the car and didn't enter the hospital, he could still hope that he'll find her alive. Oddly enough, he felt himself being reminded of the thought experiment of Schrödinger's cat that illustrates a paradox of quantum superposition. In the thought experiment, a hypothetical cat may be considered simultaneously both alive and dead. Katerina still could be both, both alive and dead, although Elijah clung to the hope it's going to be the latter.
But if he's not getting out of the car, he won't find out. He can end his own torture and can either enter a different kind of torture or can get salvation. If he's being honest to himself, he's being pathetic. A man like him shouldn't be paralyzed by fear, shouldn't be frightened by results which were also to some degree his fault.
His hands slowly unclenched and despite them still being a bit shaky, Elijah blindly grabbed his phone before his gaze finally averted from the building. The pad of his thumb hovered over the contact 'Kaitlyn Sawyer' and despite knowing it better, he called her again.
It took some time until it connected and started ringing before he was being led to the mailbox again.
“Hello. I’m currently not available and my time’s precious, so whoever this is, make it short.”
Hearing Katerina's lovely voice again, gave Elijah a stab into his heart. He didn’t leave a message this time and hung up when the beep sounded before he slowly put the phone back inside of his jacket. He would have never assumed that a simple spoken text on a mailbox could elicit such feelings in him. He recalled the tone of her voice again and again, and somehow, that gave him enough strength to get out of the car.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
Entering a hospital in a haste has always been something that Elijah had only seen from afar when Rebekah had watched some of those incredibly over-dramatic doctors- and hospital shows. He had tried his best to ignore his younger sister's comments and exclamations when something apparently tragic has happened and it had happened not only once that she was in need of a handkerchief because sometimes those shows seemed to touch her to an extent that was unbelievable. Elijah himself could never comprehend those emotions his sister managed to muster up.
And yet, as he hurried towards the entrance of the hospital in which the deadly-injured woman was kept, he felt a toxic cocktail of anguish flooding his veins despite having told -no, convinced- himself on the way from the car to the entrance that it's just a routine visit. Just to make sure it's not Katerina. Just to make sure he has covered all hints.
It didn't take him too long to orientate himself after he had entered the hospital and found himself in the reception area despite the countless humans partly hurrying, partly strolling around. No, Elijah was focused on his task and would do anything possible to get fast assurance so his eyes quickly found the information center and instantly approached it.
There were a few people of different ages waiting in front of the only two staffed service desks that both suggested a longer wait because one of the visitors seemed to have communication problems whereas the other apparently had a thousand questions the woman behind the service desk couldn't answer. Elijah, however, didn't have the time nor the nerve to wait in line in front of the information center and pushed to the front, his cold stare instantly quieting all complaints that were caused by his behavior. Once he was in front, Elijah compelled the woman with the unnecessary questions to leave.
"Excuse me sir, but it's not your turn yet. Please-"
"I'm in a hurry, you understand? I need to speak to Dr. Johnson. I'm expected."
His compulsion is fast and inconspicuous, not having the nerve of having an argument. Elijah was too distressed to muster up any patience or silly chitchat and it pleased him to see that the employee paged the Dr. instantly. Nonetheless, his fingertips drummed nervously on the surface of the counter while he's waiting for Dr. Johnson to arrive, all the while mentally renewing his belief that it's not her. That it's just a routine visit. Nothing more. There's nothing to fear. Katerina can't be here.
It can't be her. No, it can't be her.
"I'm curious, how do you muster up the drive to keep going on for so long?" "What do you mean, Elijah? Why I haven't given up yet?" "Sometimes the prospect of eternity can be scary, Katerina. "It may sound strange but to me, death is scarier. All I know is that I don't want to die ... and I don't want to find out what it feels like."
The memory of a conversation he had with Katerina shortly after they started dating came into his mind. He had always wondered what kept her going for so long. Only a few people possessed the strength to endure an endless life under such circumstances as Katerina's. Many go mad or lose themselves in things that numb their pain. Most don't make it so far. Katerina, however, had a clear idea, a goal she wanted to achieve, and that had fascinated him. Somehow she managed to not dwell too much in the past but instead was forward-looking -- quite on the contrary to him who, unfortunately, did dwell too much in the past.
The fear of dying, the fear of death was something that was essential to who Katerina is. It kept her going, it kept her making her careful and very aware of her surroundings. And although it may be foolish, Elijah tried to find an anchor in that. It's absurd that she had lost her life in a car accident ... isn't it?
Thankfully, the voice of Dr. Johnson tore him out of his thoughts.
"Mr. Mikaelson was the name, wasn't it?"
"Exactly."
"Why do you believe you can identify the injured woman? Don't get me wrong, we would be glad if we can finally close the case but she's been here for some time and no one seems to miss her."
Elijah swallowed hard and tried to get those hideous fears out of his mind as the image of a dead Katerina flashed through his mind again.
"Unfortunately, a person is missing that shares the same traits. I hope it's not her," he sincerely hoped it's not her, "but I need to make sure."
"Has she been reported as missed, Mr. Mikaelson?"
"Of course", a lie because of course the police weren't involved with Katerina's disappearance. Yes, he could compel some officers to look for her but a sufficient search would only be successful if they make a profile and that's something he cannot risk. He can't have her data be spread around for anyone to find or see, risking that the wrong people become aware of her and her current situation (or status).
"Then I can assure you the chance is low that it's her. Otherwise, the police would have been able to identify her and notify you."
Elijah's lips curled up into a weak smile despite knowing that Dr. Johnson's well-intentioned words could not do a thing to calm his nerves and as the doors of the elevator closed, he knew that there's no running back anymore. That he has to face the truth no matter how painful it's going to be.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
His restlessness had increased since they've left the elevator and walked through the small labyrinth of corridors until eventually reaching the destination.
The premises in which the deceased people were kept until they were picked up by the undertaker were immersed in cold light, making it uninviting for any visitor.
Subconsciously, another memory came into his mind as his gaze flickered over the surroundings.
"You once mentioned you were born in the Old World but your parents settled over in the New World so you basically grew up in Mystic Falls. Have you ever visited your actual home village?" "No. I hold no memory of my birthplace. I was too young to remember. Perhaps I should have made an effort and see the place I was originally from. Have you ever been to Norway?" "No. I don't like cold places. Usually, I try to avoid all cold and windy areas. But I admit I would have visited to see what your home village looked like if it still existed."
Katerina wouldn't have liked it here. More so, she would have despised the idea that she was kept in such localities. She wouldn't have liked it to lie on an ice-cold stretcher, stored away in a cool cellar whose scent of disinfectant bites in the nose. Nevertheless, he was thankful for the circumstances because at least it would prevent the body from starting to rot. He tensed at the thought, his hands clutching into fists for a short moment in order to remain calm and focused.
"I’ve already prepared her body for your visit. Usually, we keep them stored in boxes so we can assure their safety. Sometimes it's a bit hectic down here," Dr. Johnsson explained which only elicited a slow nod from Elijah.
"Here. She's in that room. I'm not coming in so you can take all the time you need to get ready. I have to warn you, the sight of an accident victim isn't easy so please prepare yourself. I advise taking deep breaths before and during you pull back the sheet and look at her. I know it's going to be hard and I sincerely hope she's not the person you're missing." Dr. Johnson looked at him in an encouraging way before briefly touching his arm, "I'm right behind the door if you need me. Take your time."
All Elijah could do is nod. While he doesn't need to be told that the sight of the dead can be nasty (he had been the reason for many nasty deaths or at least had to clean the particular hideous messes his brothers had made), he appreciated Dr. Johnson's well-meant words because he is aware that the next steps won't be easy, no matter if it's her or not.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
The room was empty with the expectation of a simple metal treatment table on which a covered body laid. Elijah had to swallow hard as he slowly approached the table and then eventually came to a halt in front of it.
Elijah almost didn't dare to take a closer look, too afraid that it's Katerina he's going to find underneath the sheet. The fear only got worse when he noted that the person seemed to have the size of the missing brunette.
The Original couldn't remember when he had last dreaded the sight of someone deceased as much as he did now. It's like an inner barrier prevents him from going ahead, from finally allowing him to come to the knowledge of the truth.
As he slowly reached out, his hand trembled again and he took in a deep breath, praying to all gods he knows of to not let this person be his Katerina that was unlucky enough to have died under such fatal circumstances. He focused on his breath as he gently grabbed the sheet and slowly moved it away from the head of the woman.
A gasp left his lips when it revealed brown, matte curls. His heart dropped and his movement froze, a pained expression on his face.
No, no, no. Please! Please for the universe's sake don't let it be her!
He shook his head more than once, gasping as his gaze was rigidly fixed on the dull curls that lacked the rich brown tone Katerina has. A circumstance that may be due to the long stay here.
Elijah didn't want to continue moving down the sheet more to reveal the face, didn't want to have certainty. In fact, he was too afraid to go ahead -- it immobilized him.
So he stood there, frozen, not knowing what he should do.
What the revelation of her death would mean.
His world would fell apart. It would crush and crumble down. It would break him, beat him down.
Once again he's reminded how important she is to him. How much he needed her. If she's gone, what is left of him? Him, as a person, not him as the eternal redemption seeker of his brother?
He assumed, has recently discovered again and again, that he had just taken her existence for granted. That she is, to some kind, as immortal as he is. He had hoped, relied on, that someday is going to be the right time, the right place. That, if he stays patient, he'll eventually find his way back to her.
But staring at the pile of dark curls so similar to Katerina's -- whether they are hers or not -- made him realize even more that nothing can be taken for granted, that his hope, his anchor, might be gone and he wasn't even there for her.
He didn't know the last moments of this person laying in front of him. They said she was immediately dead. But what if she wasn't? Even when she spent only two minutes in agony, what torture must it have been as the life faded from this body? If this woman was afraid of what is going to come? If she wished to hear the voice, feel the touch of a loved one for the last time?
Elijah knew, although he hoped he'd never get into that situation, that he wouldn't have left Katerina's side if something had happened to her which couldn't be fixed in time. Although not overall worried, there had been a time during the search for the cure where she had been alone, potentially having to deal with Silas, a creature his brother Kol was afraid of.
He didn't believe in the nonsense his brother spread about an ancient plague should Silas be released but it had filled him with unease knowing that Katerina had to deal alone with that creature if he were to be real. She wanted to handle this on her own, insisting on it's her part of the deal she needed to fulfill. Nevertheless, he was very relieved when she called him later, telling him she had the cure and everything was alright. But if it hadn't been the case and she returned to him with a hex or something, causing her to suffer, he wouldn't have left her side.
A shake of his head followed as his mind snapped back to reality, his gaze still set on the dark curls spreading out on the treatment table.
He should man up and face reality and either find torture or salvation because it's not her.
He owed her that.
What right has he to delay the knowledge about her fate just to give him a few more minutes of 'what ifs'? To spare him the torture her death would cause him?
None, absolutely none.
And, although he wanted to think otherwise, there's no way to prepare for such a situation. No matter if he wanted a few more minutes or days, it would just hurt as much as it would hurt now.
He gritted his teeth, the muscles jumping in his tensed jaw as he reached out again, his hand trembling to grab the cover and slowly and respectfully pull it down after he had muttered another silent prayer.
His heart beat loud, it drummed in his ears all the while shudders after shudders ran down his spine.
He held his breath when the person's face finally came to light, his heart stopping when he finally could see her.
His legs gave way and he fell to his knees, a single tear managed to find its way over his cheek.
Not because of the shock, but because of relief.
Gasps left his parted lips as the realization settled in, as the relief flooded through his veins.
It's not her! It's not her! There's still a chance she's alive and well. There's still the chance he's going to see her again.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
After he had testified that he did not know the unknown deceased, he was allowed to leave Dr. Johnson's office and made his way through the hospital to go back to his car, his steps lighter than when he first stepped into the building.
The relief that it hadn't been Katerina was still present, spurred him. There's still a chance she's alive and well, as well as someone in her situation can be. There's still hope. He hadn't lost her forever, fate has still granted him a chance to reunite with her and gave him more time to find her although that wasn't an excuse to slow down his search. If anything, he became even more aware of how critical her new situation is. That, if only one other person made a mistake, her life could be ended.
Oddly enough, his thoughts and worries seemed to be confirmed when he needed to stop in his track in order to make room for a nurse that pushed a hospital bed through the hallway, occupied by someone who apparently had broken their leg. His brows furrowed as he watched her vanishing into a room shortly after.
Right after, his phone vibrated on the inside of his chest pocket but when he pulled the phone out and saw who it was, his gaze immediately darkened.
Apparently, good news was always linked with bad ones. Or, in this case, the incapability to accept someone's choice. Elijah didn't even have second thoughts when he pressed the ignore button. If he had to take a guess, the reason for this call is the same one as the previous ones he had ignored already.
It gave him a headache, really, and changed his plan of leaving the hospital immediately, just in case some spies were lurking around outside. With Niklaus, coincidences are hardly possible and the timing of the attempted call had been almost too perfect. He'd follow through with his threat of killing any possible minions he's going to send but after this day, Elijah didn't want to enact violence.
A seating area near the main entrance of the hospital caught his attention and he decided to sit down there and calm down from the anger that was flaring up again.
He closed his eyes and focused on his breath. It angered him that his brother still didn't get the message that he wanted to be left alone but his unbelievable incapability of accepting other's choices shouldn't ruin the day, especially not after what he had gone through when he feared he had lost his love forever.
Lost in thoughts, Elijah pulled out the wallet from inside of his jacket to pick out the picture of Katerina. He was still beyond relieved that the person found dead had not been his Katerina although the worry about her whereabouts and state persisted. Even more so, the relief that managed to suppress all his uneasiness and worries was only short-lived and the guilt and the dread slowly crawled back into this mind and he sighed because he hoped the good feeling he had would have lasted longer.
His gaze flickered over the passport-photograph-sized picture of Katerina that he had kept in his wallet the entire time. This way, he had ensured that a part of her will always be with him although their ways have parted and right now, it's one of the few things he still has of her.
He had never believed that it's going to be so uncertain if they ever going to see each other again. Of course, he had expected that it won't be easy, especially after he had realized that unfortunately, Katerina had interpreted another meaning behind his decision of going to New Orleans. However, he would have never assumed it's going to be uncertain if she's still alive the next time he reaches out for her.
Perhaps she's not in this hospital but who says she's not stored up somewhere else? He quivered at the thought and tried to remind himself that she's smart. That she'd hopefully had found a way, a safe one, to take care of herself.
Nonetheless, the longer he stayed in the hospital and when he had walked through it, Elijah was repeatedly reminded of how fragile human life is. How easily a human can get hurt. How easily they can get sick. He had seen a number of injured humans with bandages who were attached to hospital beds that passed him as he sat in the waiting room. He had smelled the mixture of blood and chemicals that were either pouring out of them or injected into them. He had overheard a conversation about a family father that had passed away. He had seen how overtired some humans, no matter if staff or visitors, had looked like.
Today he realized more than he had ever that humans can get sick, can get hurt. They can catch diseases some have to deal with for years, decades, or the entire life. They don't heal as quickly -- or at all -- if they get hurt. They suffer from pain and uncertainty because no one can help them or know what is happening to them. Some lose all appetite and get weaker and weaker, some cannot keep food in. Some are put into a coma no one knows if they wake up anymore again.
There are so many risks, so many things that could end a normal human life or make it unbearable. Some things can be treated, others can't.
His sister romanticizes humanity to no end but his short stay in the hospital made him realize that being human always meant vulnerability.
He had never been so aware of it, although he deals with humans and values humanity. He even did his best to keep a human side and habits.
But if he has to admit to himself, especially while for the first time really noticing and becoming aware of all the downsides of humanity, he has no idea what it's like to be human. In fact, he doesn't even remember what it's like to be a human being.
He has no idea what it means and he believes, that if he were to be suddenly human again, it would be a shock from which it would be difficult to recover. He wouldn’t know how to deal with such a sudden change. The possibility alone of catching a sinus infection seems to be from another world. Fortunately, he'll never be in that situation.
Katerina, however, is.
He can only imagine how hard it must have been for Katerina to be human again, knowing how much she loved her vampiric nature. How hard it still must be for her to adjust to the new circumstances.
Her health is something Elijah worried about as well. He assumed she doesn't have a functioning and strong immune system because it wasn't needed in the past five centuries. What if she's severely sick and is in treatment?
"Excuse me, sir, can we please have this seat?" a nurse called out and approached him with a limping woman on her arm. In an instant, Elijah raised to his feet and blindly put the picture of Katerina back into his jacket where his handkerchief was, too lost in thoughts to notice that it, in fact, slipped and glided to the ground.
Perhaps the disturbance was much needed anyway to make him become aware that he didn't have a reason to stay in that hospital any longer. He's been in here long enough to bore possible minions Niklaus had sent to spy on him. Katerina is not here, so why should he stay? Strangely enough, however, he had the feeling that he was much closer to the missing brunette in this place than anywhere else. This was probably due to the fact that this place visibly showed him what he feared the most: That his beloved Katerina is hurt, that she needed (medical) help.
And, although he had no part in her becoming human, seeing all the misery in this place, made him blame himself even more. Because if he hadn't left, she wouldn't be in this situation, she wouldn't be human. Of course, it's only an assumption. Perhaps it would have still happened as he didn't know what exactly led to the two doppelgänger's sparring. He doesn't know but at least he would have been present afterward, he could have taken care of her.
Any suffering or damage could have been prevented if he hadn't left.
"Sir? Sir?!"
At first, Elijah did not feel addressed but as the voice came closer, he finally turned around and looked at the nurse that had just brought in the limping woman. She held something tiny in her hands and waved with it.
"Sir, I believed you have lost something. Is it yours?" she questioned and showed him the pic of Katerina. His hand immediately moved up to the pocket in which he had believed to have placed the picture. It wasn't there. Not that he would have needed to check it because he doubted anyone was in the possession of a picture that looked like his picture. It just happened to be a somewhat natural movement.
"Yes, it is mine. Thank you for being so attentive. I wouldn't know what I'd have done without it." he reached out his hand so the nurse could give it back to him but she refused.
"Do you know this woman?", she asked and Elijah frowned, not knowing why she came up with such a personal question.
"Yes, I do. Can I please have the picture back?" he felt uncomfortable seeing that someone else had it. As if he couldn't protect her if someone else was in the possession of her picture. Not that a nurse could do any harm to Katerina if she’s in possession of a picture.
"I know her too...."
"I beg your pardon?", suddenly Elijah's impatience of getting the picture back turned into curiosity and interest. How did she know her? And, did she really know Katherine or does she just somehow know Elena Gilbert?
"Yeah, she was brought in several weeks ago -- perhaps it’s been even two or three months."
Elijah's eyebrows shoot up in surprise, and he took a quick glance around before he pulled the nurse gently with him to a more quiet place. This was beyond important.
"Define 'brought in'"
"She came in an ambulance. I helped to bring her to Dr. Brown who checked up on her. She was unconscious so we gave her the name 'Elisa' until we found out more."
Elijah absorbed this new, unexpected information, not believing that he just found out about this coincidence. She may have been here. Was that the reason why he felt so strangely connected to this hospital?
"And where is she now?" he impatiently asked, needing to know what has happened to her.
"I don't know. Dr. Brown has his own staff, I'm not responsible for that area."
"Where can I find him?"
"3rd floor, Station C"
Elijah nodded and offered the nurse a smile. "Thank you. I'll make it worth your while," with that, and after taking back the picture, Elijah turned on his heels and quickly moved to the elevator to get to Dr. Brown.
He needed to find out what has happened and where she was. Perhaps, although he feared that would be too much luck, she was still here somewhere.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
It wasn't too hard to find the office of Dr. Brown. In contrary to his first entry into the hospital, Elijah didn't care to ask someone for arranging a meeting with the doctor. Instead, he went straight into the office and even had luck as the doctor was present. His protest was quickly silenced as he compelled the human to be quiet before he compelled him to comply and answer his questions.
"I was told this girl, patient Elisa was brought in this hospital several weeks ago." to underline his words and to make sure the doctor knew of whom he spoke, Elijah showed him the picture of Katerina, earning a nod from him.
"Yes, I remember her. She had been here but several weeks have indeed passed since that."
"Is she still here?"
"Unfortunately, no"
She's not here anymore. Elijah closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to sort his thoughts before he finally took a seat. He'd thought they could leave quickly to go to her but the reality was different. She could be anywhere by now. How comes he's always too late? Nonetheless -- and despite his worries -- his voice and tone remained calm and collected.
"What do you mean by 'unfortunately no'? I was told she was unconscious. What happened to her?"
"I cannot give away personal information to a stranger. Or are you in any kind of relationship with the patient?"
This astonished Elijah because apparently, Dr. Brown was really serious about and devoted to his job, otherwise, it wouldn't have been possible to work around the compulsion and hold information back. However, it also had to be said that perhaps the compulsion wasn't specific enough.
"I’m Elijah Mikaelson and she's my girlfriend. Unfortunately, she’s missing for quite some time by now." The lie left his lips without hesitation. Moreover, the word 'girlfriend' slipped his tongue quite naturally although he knew that they were no longer a couple, that he could no longer address her as his girlfriend or partner.
"I understand. Well, Mr. Mikaelson, under these circumstances I can give information. A moment please." He stood up and left the office only to return with a file two minutes later.
"Miss Forbes was brought in with severe hypothermia. She had collapsed on the streets and was nearly hit by a car. Fortunately, the driver was able to brake in time. She wasn’t responsive when she was brought in and in a state of unconsciousness. When I examined her I noticed that she was slightly malnutrition so we gave her some infusions to help her regain strength."
Elijah listened attentively to the doctor and frowned when he addressed Katerina as 'Miss Forbes'. How did they come up with that name? And what had happened that she'd collapsed and was brought in with severe hypothermia? His concern increased even more and he didn't know how he should put that information together because it confirmed his worst suspicions.
But why isn't she here anymore? If her state was so worse?
"Go on please, I need to know every detail," Elijah stated and leaned slightly forward to intensify the compulsion.
"After she regained consciousness, she had a panic attack and acted aggressively toward the staff. It took some time until we managed to calm her down and convince her that she's in no danger."
Elijah nodded because he can comprehend that it must have been terrifying for her to wake up in entirely new surroundings and somehow it relieved him to know that her natural survival instinct still seemed to be there if she acted so hostile towards the staff.
"She stated that her name was Katherine Forbes and that she wanted to call her sister to come to get her."
His confusion only grew because Katerina had no sister and certainly no remaining family.
"Has she called that sister?" Elijah asked because he needed to know who it was.
"Yes, she has. I also talked to her about the next steps because I wanted to keep her in for a few more days. Somehow, however, Miss Forbes found a way to leave the hospital unauthorized on the fourth night. She has no discharge papers so we cannot take responsibility if anything happens to Miss Forbes."
"And the sister wanted that?"
"No, Miss Katherine Forbes seemed to have acted on her own. Her sister agreed on having her stay a few more days until we're certain that everything's okay."
"What's the name of the sister?"
"Miss Caroline Forbes".
Caroline Forbes.
A blurry memory of a blonde girl found its way to the surface. Elijah didn't remember too much about her but he believed that she had been (or is still) friends with Elena Gilbert. And, if his memory doesn't play tricks on him, he recalled that his brother fancied her presence and companionship the night their mother threw that deceptive ball for their family.
He could not understand the connections. Neither Caroline's Forbes connection with Elena Gilbert nor her questionable connection with Niklaus made any sense in regard to Katerina as Katerina despised both Elena Gilbert and Niklaus. So how comes that Katerina would want to call her of all people?
Elijah tried to dig deeper into his memories about that Forbes girl but couldn't find anything relevant. Truth be told, he hasn't really paid attention to her. She had been an embellishment to his plans and main focus although he remembered that it had puzzled him that Niklaus was so eager on getting the blonde's attention. He could also recall that Niklaus had been keen on staying in Mystic Falls although there was nothing that could hold someone like him there.
Although Mystic Falls hasn't been Elijah's birthplace, it had been the location of his family home. All siblings after him were born there and yet none of them held a too pleasant memory of that time. Rebekah was probably the most sentimental about it but apart from her, none of them really thought much about their human days in Mystic Falls, Niklaus even less.
He didn't question Niklaus's reasons behind staying in Mystic Falls though and he certainly won't start now because it won't bring light into the darkness about Katerina's connection to the Forbes girl.
"I do recall Caroline Forbes. Do you have her number?"
"Yes, it is recorded in the file."
Elijah nodded and decided to call Caroline later on. Hopefully, she knew more about Katerina's whereabouts although he really can't comprehend why the two of them were even in contact. He, however, believed that whatever the reason was, they must have been in contact even longer if Katerina's first doing was addressing herself as Katherine Forbes which implied that she knew exactly what she's doing and that she could count on the other one.
The Original leaned forward, took the file in his hands, and opened it. A few medical terms caught his eye: Hypothermia, malnutrition, hypoglycemia, hypotension. Hematoma, probably because of the accident. A remark about older injuries, including the possibility of sprained ribs in the past, let Elijah frown but it has not been discussed in more detail.
"Allow me a question, Dr. Brown: What was your impression of Katherine and her health?"
Her health was something Elijah did worry about. He was already concerned about how she’s going to survive out there, especially after he learned that she didn’t seem to have money. After he had realized how fast something serious and fatal can happen to a human, however, his concern grew even more.
And apparently, his concerns were justified.
The doctor sighed and folded his hands on top of his desk.
"In all honesty, Mr. Mikaeson, it appeared as if Miss Forbes had a couple of rough weeks. She seemed ... paranoid when we wanted to take her blood to test it in our laboratory. It wasn't the usual fear we see from other patients when it comes to needles or blood, she seemed to not agree on being it taken in the first place. We also have reason to believe that she has suffered violence-," the doctor glanced at him sharply but Elijah ignored it, instead, his frown only deepened, "-domestic abuse perhaps."
Someone had dared to lay a finger on her. Elijah did his best to suppress a snarl.
"Are you implying someone has hurt her?"
"We have reason to believe so, yes. Although we cannot be sure because the marks were already almost healed but she had a whiff of bruises on her neck and arms. As already mentioned, it could be from an old accident perhaps but the location of them implies that it was violence against her."
Elijah inhaled sharply, his hands clenched into fists under the desk. If he learns that someone has hurt her, hell will break loose for that person!
"Anything else which may be relevant?"
"We weren't able to run the necessary tests but I suggest someone should examine her blood, her lungs, and her heart. There seemed to be irregularities but that could also be because she was under a lot of stress lately. I would also recommend a lot of rest until she's healed properly and her levels are back in the green area as well as seeing a doctor soon in order to make sure she doesn’t develop pneumonia."
Elijah nodded, hoping that her condition was better by now because he had no idea why Katerina left the hospital in a hurry despite being told that she needed to stay and rest.
"Thank you for your time, Dr. Brown. Her bills are probably not yet paid so please send them to this address" Elijah gave him the business card of the hotel he's currently staying in but didn't hand back Katerina's file. It's better such valuable information stays with him.
"Mr. Mikaelson?"
Elijah stopped in his trails and turned around once more, having already been on his way to the door.
"I forgot to give you this", Dr. Brown surrounded his desk and handed him a white envelope. "We wanted to give it to the lost property office after Ms. Forbes didn't return to us but somehow it must have been overlooked. Unfortunately, we're often in a hurry and I apologize if it caused any inconvenience. We had to take them off because of the scans."
The Original didn't know what he was talking about but took the envelope without any further inquiry.
"Thank you, Dr. Brown."
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
Elijah had pondered when it's going to be the right time to call Caroline Forbes. His impatience said immediately, his reason told him to wait until he's back in his hotel suite. He didn't want to waste time but he also needed to make sure he's calm and collected. Right now, however, he wasn't any of it.
His sorrows are riding rollercoasters. It appears as if he's never going to reach a phase in which everything seems to calm down.
Elijah hasn't studied Katerina's hospital files entirely. In fact, he had only looked for Caroline's number before he's going to indulge in more details of Katerina's report.
Nonetheless, there's something which had struck him and which wasn't good at all. The report was from two months ago, meaning that too much time has passed already to rely on the belief Katerina's still in the area, not to question in what state she is. From what he has gathered and was informed, her state was critical at the time she was brought to the hospital.
However, it's probably better if he focuses on his next step instead of worrying too much about the 'what if's' again. Perhaps Katerina is staying with Caroline by now and all his worries have been for nothing.
Before Elijah called Caroline after he finally arrived back in his suite, he changed. He felt more comfortable in a new suit that didn't smell like a hospital. In fact, his convenience increased which was a good condition for staying focused. And patient. Patience is a trait he seemed to lose the longer his search for Katerina continued although he continuously reminded himself why it's so important to act calm and with patience.
A quick glance at his watch told him that now it's an appropriate time for a serious conversation so he took in a deep breath, reminded himself of his goals and aims, and then tipped in the number of Caroline Forbes.
Mercifully, it didn’t take long until the call was answered.
"Miss Forbes?"
"Who's this?"
The Original exhaled in relief as he recognized the voice of the blonde, although admittedly, the memory of her is almost non-existent. He never thought he'd interact with her or even call her. However, despite the lack of interaction, he's aware that she'll know exactly who he is and that she's going to have reservations about talking to him. Let alone share any possible valuable information. Another reason why he needed to act smart and calm.
"Elijah Mikaelson. I know this must come very unexpected, but I require information you presumably have."
He heard her sucking in a deep breath as she went awfully quiet for a few moments.
"Wait a minute. The Elijah Mikaelson? Where did you get my freakin' number?"
He'd probably be amused by the panic and disbelief in her voice, but the reason for his call is urgent and he can't muster up any amusement.
"The same reason why I called you. It was in Katherine Pierce's medical record. Apparently, she poses as your sister nowadays and I hope you perhaps know where she is now."
Again, silence is filling the line and he could basically hear her thinking. It must come very surprising for her.
"How did you get- ... wait! Why do you think I'm going to tell you anything about Katherine Pierce?"
"I believe we have shared interests. Apparently, you don't want her dead, neither do I."
At least that's what he hoped. Katerina has had a rather troubled past in Mystic Falls, leading to her gathering a few people that weren't exactly fond of her. He hoped that his assumption was right and the relationship between Katerina and Caroline was friendly, although he still can't comprehend how it comes she seemed to trust the blonde as much as to put her on the emergency contact list. If there's anyone who knows about Katerina, it's Caroline Forbes. As unbelievable as it is.
"And I'm supposed to believe that? Even if I had knowledge about anything regarding Katherine, why should I tell you? Aren't you the one who wanted her dead for all her life?"
The accusation came unexpected and he tried to ignore the knot in his gut, his fingers tensing around the phone while he tried his best to remain calm. While he had expected some resistance, he hadn't prepared himself for such an accusation that stirred up anger within him. However, he tried his best to swallow it down and answer neutrally.
"I fear you're confusing me with my brother."
"It's still the same. I was told you locked her in the tomb. Doesn't sound like you're too interested in her well-being."
His fingers cracked as he closed his hand into a fist, his eyes narrowed while he stared out of the window that led to the balcony of his hotel suite. He did not tolerate any false allegations, didn't approve of the lack of respect Caroline voiced. Although she's of course right because he had compelled Katerina to stay in the tomb. However, his main intention had certainly not been letting her rot there. It has been the only place she had been safe from Klaus.
"And now I fear that's where you're wrong. I am concerned about Katherine's well-being, that's why I need to know where she is now."
"Is that how you Mikaelson's think the world works? You snap with your fingers, demand something, and expect you immediately get it?"
He blinked in confusion at her words, not really knowing where that came from. Apparently talking to him from a distance seemed to give her some confidence.
"Miss Forbes ... I appreciate your concern for my intentions regarding the woman known as Katherine Pierce but I assure you the information is needed. I ask you to share every information you have about Katherine's whereabouts."
"I'm not dumb if that's what you thinking. Let's say I have information about Katherine Pierce, why would I want to share it with you? A friend's loyal to their friends, I'm not going to throw her under the bus if she's my friend and I have knowledge about something regarding her life."
He relaxed because although probably not intended, Caroline has just let him know that she indeed has information about Katerina. Otherwise, she wouldn't have mentioned matters of loyalty. And loyalty was something he appreciated, something he was indeed thankful for, especially in that delicate matter.
Elijah knew that it was now up to him to convince Caroline that his intentions were true, that he didn't intend on using the information to harm her. Although that required exposing details he wasn't keen on sharing with everyone. He rather keeps his private life well ... private. However, it was needed if he wanted to find Katerina as soon as possible.
"Katherine and I ... we've been in a relationship shortly before ... before she turned human. It would ease my mind knowing she's doing okay."
There's another pause but he could fill the mood change.
"Oh my god ... you... you and Katherine? How come no one has told me about it? I mean ... you two ... you two don't really fit each other. I mean ... I mean no offense but you're this scary, intimidating, and stoic Original whereas she's this scary but very vivid and fun-loving woman. How can that work out?"
She sounded genuinely surprised which finally elicited a little smile on his lips. It had something pure and admittedly, she hit the nail on the head. Katerina and he were an unlike pairing but -- although he never admitted it out loud -- that was just what he had needed. She completed him in a way he hadn't known, gave him the things he lacked himself.
"I believe Katherine and I have always shared a certain connection. It surprises me the Salvatores didn't lack respect in that matter as they always do."
His tone didn't imply how much he missed her, how much he worries about her. Instead, he focused on the dreadful Salvatores and wondered why they haven't mentioned their little encounter around, especially because usually, they aren't that cautious.
"Wait, they knew about you two? How could I miss those things? But ... but Katherine didn't seem to be in a relationship anymore so you two broke up? Why are you even interested in her anymore? Apparently, you didn't care before?"
His lips pressed together into a thin line and he tried to swallow down the bitter taste on his tongue.
"Look, it's an understatement to say things have been complicated but I am interested in her well-being and it would help me a lot if you could share information if you have any."
"Oh -- so he was right? I swear he only mentioned it because he needed an excuse. It sounded so lied..."
Now Elijah started to frown because he has no idea what she was talking about. Who was 'he'? And what had it to do with his request?
"What are you talking about, Caroline?"
"Klaus. He came to Mystic Falls saying he wants to look for you because you're jumbled and you need to come back."
The color drained from his face at the mention of Niklaus. While it didn't surprise him that his brother attempted another poor try to get him back to New Orleans, it surprised him that he'd chosen Mystic Falls for his search. While Mystic Falls had been their home once, Elijah didn't hold much sentimentality for this place, unlike the rest of his siblings. However, Mystic Falls had been the place where he had told his brother about Katerina and his intentions with her.
"My brother was in Mystic Falls? Has he gathered any information about Katherine?"
"No, I don't think so. I think she was the latest that's been on his mind that day...."
Was she? If he knew anything about his brother, it was his boundless vengeance and need to control. If Katerina were to get into his hands ... No, he didn't want to think about it and could only hardly hold back a growl. Rebekah has assured him that Niklaus doesn't know about Katerina's new status. She wouldn't lie to him about that.
"Are you absolutely certain?"
"Yes! Oh my god, I thought you were the one who values privacy!"
His eyebrows raised in surprise at Caroline's reactions, again puzzled by how this conversation turns and twists.
"Listen, your personal matters are non of my interest," he assured her, suddenly remembering his brother's odd fascination with the blonde. Perhaps that was the reason for this unusual reaction, "All I care about is the whereabouts of Katherine. So, do you have any information or not?"
"Before I tell anything I need to make sure you're telling the truth. Is this the number I can reach you?"
"Yes"
"Then I call you after I verified your words. Bye."
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
The ticking of the clock seemed to mock him and his malaise.
A part of him had hoped that Caroline is going to call him back in a matter of a few hours but as time passed, his phone didn't ring once, making him question the blonde's intentions.
What if she doesn't call back?
The solution is simple, although he wasn't particularly fond of the idea. He didn't want to leave and travel to Mystic Falls to compel the truth out of Caroline or anyone else that he gets his hands on, especially because he knew that it's likely they are on vervain which meant he had to wait for 24 hours until it's safe to assume the compulsion works.
Time he wasn't keen on wasting on people who better not dare to show themselves before him because he can't guarantee anything. His nerves and patience are strained to the utmost and he couldn't ensure he won't kill someone, especially if it came to the pesky Salvatore.
He can't risk causing messes right now because his main attention should be set on Katerina and her well-being.
Eventually, he managed to calm his nerves enough to study Katerina's file again because he thought that is going to help him make the right choices if he's going to find her. Furthermore, it may help him to put together the pieces of her journey.
Which, in hindsight, was probably all too optimistic.
But as he browsed through the admission and medical reports, the white envelope that he had put quickly in the file caught his attention again. He recalled the words of Dr. Brown 'we had to take them off because of the scans' but because of the important conversation he had to have with Caroline Forbes, Elijah must have forgotten about it.
He had already noted that the envelope was quite heavy for a simple letter when it was handed over to him and he noticed it again now as he took it in his hands.
Whatever it was, it belonged to Katerina and he wasn't sure if he should open it. If he was even entitled to do so. Although on the other hand, he also wasn't quite entitled to have her medical file in his possession.
Elijah's thumb brushed thoughtfully over the flap as he considered the pros and cons before he simply opened it and peeked into the content.
At first, there was nothing much to see or even identify. Just a pile of silver material. But as he carefully poured the content in his palm, Elijah's eyes widened slightly as he finally realized what it was.
Katerina's daylight jewelry!
He gently detangled the delicate necklace, careful to not break anything until it was neat again before the pad of this thumb brushed over its Lapislazuli pendant.
Although Katerina was no longer a vampire, he assumed that she mourned its loss because it certainly holds some sentimentality in it. It surprised him that Katerina hadn't taken the necklace she sometimes used as a bracelet not with her, perhaps she was in such a hurry that she either forget it or wasn't able to find it immediately. He remembered that she didn't take it off even once, not even when she was showering or taking an almost impressive long bath in the middle of the night. Something which was quite understandable because daylight jewelry is rare and especially someone like Katerina was dependent on having it as it made it possible to travel during the daytime.
Elijah watched the necklace in his hands a while longer, feeling so connected to Katerina as he had never felt before. It was different than looking at photos because this necklace is actually something that belonged to Katerina, which was a part of her.
For a short moment, Elijah wondered if this necklace would allow him to detect her whereabouts but as thrilling as the idea seemed to be, he didn't want to hand it over to a witch, potentially having it destroyed or damaged, especially not now after he had a good lead with Caroline Forbes. Furthermore, spells didn't seem to be all too clear when it came to Katherine Pierce.
Nonetheless having it with him now held importance to Elijah, even managed to bring a little smile forth as he took another paper and wrapped the necklace carefully around it so it won't get tangled again before he put it back into the envelope.
Elijah is going to make sure it's going to return to her and until then, he's keeping it safe for her.
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
Two whole day have passed and it was already late in the night as Elijah's phone suddenly vibrated. The Original wasn't asleep yet (sleep was something which in general didn't seem to find him), instead, he was focused on a book of human healing arts.
Of course, he had hoped, wished, that it was Caroline that finally called him back, unfortunately, however, that wasn't the case.
It was his sister.
Elijah debated if he should answer the call or not as he had no real desire to talk to his family, knowing already how their conversation is going to turn out. In the end, however, he decided to answer the call.
"Yes?"
"Elijah! Thank god. I feared something happened to you."
"I appreciate your concern, dear sister, but just because I chose radio silence doesn't mean something has happened to me", although she's right, of course. It wasn't like him to cancel all contacts with his family. Usually, being silent meant that their brother has stuffed them in a coffin.
"Have the two of you still not made peace?", Rebekah asked, and although she didn't mention any names, Elijah was aware that she was talking about Niklaus and him.
"As I've already told our brother, forgiveness is earned. Right now he still doesn't seem to understand the concept.", Elijah simply retorted, having his brother's several annoying attempts of luring him back to New Orleans in mind.
"Is it really just because he daggered you? Because I know I am tearing furious if he does it with me but it's been months and you aren't the unforgiving sibling if it comes to Nik."
Elijah exhaled, his gaze fixed on the open sides of the book he had previously read.
"Our brother needs to learn that there are consequences for his treacherous actions, that his siblings are no deposit for him to use as he wishes." Of course, there was more to it because Niklaus' actions had resulted in Elijah's current search for his beloved, always having to fear that he's coming too late, that she's forever lost to him. And just as if his sister could read his mind, she made the conclusion of the real reasons.
"Please don't tell me you've decided to take your time off because you're still after Katherine. Our family finally has the chance to start new, to have an almost human experience."
"What if I do prefer my own luck for once?"
"With that manipulative wench? Elijah please, she can't possibly be the one who finally makes you desire a life without being chained to Klaus. She'll burn you."
Elijah's gaze darkened and he clenched his free hand to fist.
"Watch your language, Rebekah.", his voice is calm but there's obvious disapproval in his tone. And he meant it. If his sister is going to continue to insult Katerina, he'll end their conversation.
"But it's true. You're being blinded by something that probably doesn't even exist. When she was still in Mystic Falls, she was pretty much focused on getting back into Stefan Salvatore's pants."
Elijah can't deny that a wave of jealousy swept through his veins, along with a hint of pain as he imagined the two of them together. The muscle in his jaw jumped at the thought that perhaps, Katerina preferred someone else.
"Well, Katherine can organize her private life the way she wants. I'm hardly in a position to judge her for her choices."
"Then what do you want from her?"
Yes, what did he want from her? Of course, he wanted to make sure that Katerina is safe and fine. He didn't want her to be scared and have no idea how she's supposed to survive the next day. However, there were also more selfish reasons why he needed to find her. Elijah needed Katerina. He needed her in his life to make it worthwhile. And yes, he wanted, hoped, to get her trust and perhaps even her love back.
This is, however, something that's none of Rebekah's concern so he chose to simply ignore her question and picked another topic.
"How's Hope?"
"Oh, she's doing fine. You can't believe what a lovely baby she is. I could kiss and cuddle her all time," Rebekah stated and Elijah relaxed because apparently, Rebekah let go of the previous topic. Furthermore, it relieved him to know that everything was okay with his little niece.
"I wish I could be a part of her life and see her but it's safer the way if she stays with you." Yes, Rebekah taking care of their niece somewhere far away and safe was the better option, although it filled him with regret that he wasn't there for Hope as he should be.
"Someday you're able to visit, Elijah. I really believe in that. Things just have to settle down in New Orleans so she can return to her parents." Elijah's lips pulled upwards at the thought because he is actually looking forward to finally meeting his niece properly.
"There's something else I wanted to ask you..." Elijah's eyebrows furrowed at his sister's question, hoping that she won't come to the Katerina topic again.
"Please go on"
"I was thinking about our family lately. About our siblings both alive and unfortunately already deceased." Elijah had honestly no idea where Rebekah's sudden interest in digging into their past came from. However, he continued to listen to her words.
"There's one sibling I never met, one who was hardly mentioned. I don't even know their name...."
It took some time until Elijah remembered that there was indeed another sibling. One he had also never met, despite being older than Niklaus and Rebekah.
"Mother mentioned we had an older sister. She must have died because of a disease, a plague, somewhere before I was born. Apparently, her death was the reason why our parents decided to settle over to the New World after I was born" These were old stories, so old that it certainly didn't cross his mind nowadays. Oddly enough, she must have been loved dearly by their father, and perhaps it explains why Mikael was way fonder of Rebekah than he was of his (biological) sons. It surprised him that Rebekah suddenly harbors any interest in such old stories.
"But do you know her name?"
Her question let Elijah frown even more because despite wanting to recall their older sister's name, nothing came into his mind.
"Our parents didn't like to speak about her. Actually, I don’t remember them ever talking about her any longer." Their older sister seemed to be some kind of red flag for their parents. "Is there any reason why you want to know?"
"No, Elijah. Just curiosity."
The older Original squinted his eyes slightly, something telling him that there was a reason why Rebekah had asked about their late older sister. He knew that Finn as the oldest had known their older sister but he also never spoke about her. Elijah had never questioned that, perhaps he should have. Now, however, it's too late.
He’s thought about it for a long time, even after his conversation with his sister had ended because he couldn't shake the feeling that something was odd about her request for information. He couldn't explain it, however, although he could also not tell the reason for her question.
He has been separated from his family for some time now, although, measured by their lifetime, it seemed like a mere few seconds. Elijah didn't know what Niklaus was up to, didn't know what his siblings had going on although it would be smarter to not attract attention for their niece's sake. There's certainly something going on and Elijah wished he would know what it was although he'd rather brush it off as a mere interest in family stories. Perhaps spending time with a baby and allowing it to take care of it had changed Rebekah's view on family. He certainly hoped it would.
▬▬xx▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
Another day had passed without any call back from Caroline Forbes and Elijah started to become restless because time passed without him doing anything. Something he considered as fatal because he knew how precious time was nowadays, that even a minute can make a difference. He also couldn't comprehend what took the blonde so long to verify his words because firstly, he wasn't a liar, and secondly, his relationship with Katerina seemed to have been a topic of conversation. Although he wasn't too keen on making such personal matters public, he knew that unfortunately, many people seemed to think they're allowed to have an opinion about it, even dared to question his sanity.
Elijah wasn't capable of sitting still at his desk and focusing on the lecture in front of him (another book about healing arts). His eyes flickered to his watch every few minutes while at the same time, he thought about the given possibilities. Perhaps traveling to Mystic Falls and using compulsion is the best opinion. Perhaps he should consider using Katerina's necklace. Perhaps he should call one of his witches. Perhaps he should just go on searching in the blind. Perhaps...
The vibrating of his phone tore him out of his thoughts and finally caused him to stop from his restless wandering around in his suite. Without any hesitation, perhaps even impatiently, he answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Elijah?"
The Original exhaled in relief as he recognized Caroline's voice.
"Yes, you're having the right number, Miss Forbes. I assume you could verify my words right now?" he asked politely although his impatience ascended into the Immeasurable.
"Yes, I had. And sorry for the wait. I had to develop a tactic. Can't possibly go to Stefan and ask what had happened while they were away searching for the cure and if he can confirm Elijah and Katherine were a thing." By the tone of her voice, Elijah could tell she seemed to be amused by the thought of it. But there's also a prouder tone swinging in her words because apparently, she enjoyed having been successful in her 'detective' work. At the mention of Stefan Salvatore, however, Elijah couldn't ignore the memory of what his sister had told him about Katerina and her apparent desire for the younger Salvatore. He refused to believe it, of course, but the slight hint of jealousy couldn't be denied.
"Surely then you can grant me my desired information about Katherine's whereabouts?"
"Yes, I can. Although I still can't understand why you want to know now. Wanting to know she's safe or not. Which is actually kinda cute, I suppose." Elijah's eyebrows raised in surprise mixed with confusion at Caroline's words because it was unexpected to hear such a thing. Nevertheless, it's not what he had hoped to hear and he'd be thankful if she could quit the chitchat now and get to the point.
"Caroline, the location please..."
"Oh right ... Katherine told me she's staying with someone in Charleston, near White Point Garden."
"Do you have a name?"
"No, unfortunately not. But it's an older woman, apparently."
Elijah's eyes widened slightly at the mention of an older woman, being reminded of the locator spell done so many months ago which had shown him an elderly woman. Is that the same person? It can't possibly be because Katerina had been spotted at other places after he had started his search. If she had planned to go to Charleston the entire time, why hadn't she chosen a different route? The shortest path wouldn't have led over Charlotte or Columbia and everything that's in between, including that dreadful gas station.
The Original exhaled and pinched the bag of his nose as he tried to sort his thoughts.
"And do you know if she's still staying there?"
"No, I don't. Katherine's not exactly the type of person who gives daily updates. But I assume she's still in that area because she hasn't told me anything about moving. But I don't even know if it's right to tell you anyway, you know? Katherine hasn't told anyone but me, not even ...."
"Yes?"
"Well.... she hasn't even told Stefan. "
"I see....", although Elijah understood nothing. He hadn't been aware that apparently, Stefan Salvatore seemed to hold such a big part in Katerina's life. But now both Rebekah and Caroline have mentioned the younger Salvatore independently of each other and he wondered if perhaps it's true what his sister had said: That Katerina had moved on.
Not that this new revelation would change anything about his mission because he still sought to find her and offer her his help in this difficult situation she was in. Nonetheless, he can't deny the sting in his heart to know that perhaps, Katerina had given her heart to someone else, to someone who can't possibly value her.
Stefan Salvatore and the doppelgänger Elena Gilbert always seemed to be an unmatchable team. He doubted Stefan's interest in Katerina -- if there even was any -- is wholehearted, therefore he can't comprehend why Katerina should be so keen on getting the younger Salvatore's attention.
"I'll make sure she won't find out from where I've gathered the piece of information. You don't have to worry about possibly betraying her trust in you," Elijah spoke and meant it, especially because he started to consider the blonde vampire as a reliable source of information. He certainly won't shy away from using every detail he can get in order to find Katerina.
"Thank you. And Elijah?"
"Yes?"
"I can't believe I'm really saying this because she certainly can be a big bitch but ... don't hurt her. I came to like her and I don't want her to get hurt."
"You have nothing to fear, Miss Forbes. As I've already told you, it's not my intention to harm Katherine."
"That's not what I meant...."
▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬ ▬▬ xx ▬▬
After having pondered about Caroline's words and the obvious meaning behind them, as well as getting other things done, Elijah started to pack his things, having a new destination in mind.
"Please bring the bags in my car, will you?" he ordered and didn't look up when the people of the hotel's staff grabbed the bags and his suits that were neatly packed in protective garment covers.
It's drawing outside, the sun is just about to rise and Elijah was ready to hopefully start the last part of his journey in his search for Katerina. He had showered and shaved. His entire appearance looked impeccable, ready to meet Katerina again.
As soon as he had finished the call with Caroline, he had ordered a few of his people to travel to Charleston in South Carolina with the order to look for a house inhabited by an old lady with flowers on the outside of the window. That's what he had remembered from the vision giving to him by his witch in Lafayette. Of course, he's aware that there're going to be plenty of homes to which the conditions would apply, but Elijah hoped he'd find it fast. And with a population of about 135.000 people, it's definitely gonna take some time. At least he had a rough direction, knowing that apparently the old lady is settled somewhere in the south of Charleston.
Elijah folded the map of the area that laid in front of him neatly after he had studied its structure. Then, he carefully took the white envelope with Katerina's necklace in his hands and placed it into the left inside of his suit jacket. He's going to make sure nothing happens to Katerina's daylight jewelry until he's having the opportunity to give it back to her.
Then, he switched off the lights and left his hotel suite, knowing that he's going to be in Charleston and therefore closer to Katerina in not even two hours.

A/N: I hope you've liked this enormous chapter and are excited for the next one. Do you think Caroline told the truth? And how do you think is Elijah going to handle meeting Katherine again? What will he do? Will he talk to her right after he finds her? I'm also not sure if I should continue to write in Elijah's POV as I come to like it or should switch back to Katherine's POV. What do you think? Please consider leaving feedback as it keeps my muse for writing alive.♥

Amnesia (Book Two)(Part Fourteen)(Alec Volturi)
The final vote
"Chelsea is trying to break our bindings," Edward whispered. "But she can't find them. She can't feel us here. . . ." His eyes cut to Bella. "Are you doing that?" She smiled grimly at him. "I am all over this." Edward lurched away from her suddenly, his hand reaching out toward Carlisle. Jane looked at him and used her gift. At the same time, Bella felt a much sharper jab against the shield where it wrapped protectively around Carlisle's light. It wasn't painful, but it wasn't pleasant, either. "Carlisle? Are you all right?" Edward gasped frantically. "Yes. Wh-?" Carlisle said, but before he could finish his phrase, he was on the ground, screaming. Maeryn was using her gift too, working together with Jane to make sure she was able to hit her target. The foes looked alarmed, and Bella’s face was one of pure agony. However, Maeryn couldn’t stop Bella’s shield for long as soon her hands where forced open again, letting Bella protect Carlisle again. "Incredible," Edward said. “But be careful, Bella. Jane and Maeryn are working together. Once Jane has a target, Maeryn will crack your shield on that spot.” He whispered in Bella’s ear. Bella nodded. Maeryn felt very powerful, to know the foes where sweating a little was a good thing. The battle cannot go so easily. "Why aren't they waiting for the decision?" Tanya hissed. "Normal procedure," Edward answered brusquely. "They usually incapacitate those on trial so they can't escape." Bella looked across at Jane, who was staring at the group of foes with furious disbelief. She grinned a huge, smug smile right at Jane. Jane’s eyes narrowed, and she send another wave of pain towards Bella. Maeryn tried breaking through Bella’s second shield once she had broken through her first, but to no avail. Bella’s second shield protected her too much, as if it was her own skin. A skin Maeryn simply couldn’t rip open. Bella noticed this and pulled her lips wider, showing her teeth. Jane let out a high-pitched scream of a snarl. Everyone jumped, even the disciplined guard. Everyone but the ancients, who didn't so much as look up from their conference. Her twin caught her arm as she crouched to spring. The Romanians started chuckling with dark anticipation. "I told you this was our time," Vladimir said to Stefan. "Just look at the witch's face," Stefan chortled. Alec patted his sister's shoulder soothingly, then tucked her under his arm. He turned his face to the foes, perfectly smooth, completely angelic. “Just tell me who you’d like to hit, Jane. Perhaps Alec’s gift can pour through that small crack too. Once he is in, it will be easy to take them down. Except for Bella. She has a second shield I cannot seem to break. But I am sure Felix or Demetri will get her. She may be protected from mental attacks, but her shield is useless against physical attacks.” Maeryn whispered to both Alec and Jane. Jane calmed down slightly and nodded her head. “Give me a sign when your mist has reached them, I cannot keep her shield open for long at a time, but enough to at least floor some of them.” Maeryn said towards Alec, whom nodded his head also, his eyes never leaving the foes. Bella seemed to wait for some pressure, some sign of Alec’s attack, but felt nothing. He continued to stare in their direction, his pretty face composed. Bella’s face on the other hand, seemed worried as she clutched at Edward's hand. "Are you okay?" She choked out. "Yes," he whispered. "Is Alec trying?" Edward nodded. "His gift is slower than Jane's. It creeps. It will touch us in a few seconds." Maeryn watched her mate’s mist creep towards the foes. It was a strange clear haze that was oozing across the snow, nearly invisible against the white. It reminded Maeryn of a mirage - a slight warping of the view, a hint of a shimmer. Bella pushed her shield out from Carlisle and the rest of the front line, afraid to have the slinking mist too close when it hit. A low rumbling murmured through the ground under their feet, and a gust of wind blew the snow into sudden flurries between the foe’s position and the Volturi's. Benjamin
had seen the creeping threat, too, and now he tried to blow the mist away from them. The snow made it easy to see where he threw the wind, but the mist didn't react in any way. It was like air blowing harmlessly through a shadow; the shadow was immune. The triangular formation of the ancients finally broke apart when, with a racking groan, a deep, narrow fissure opened in a long zigzag across the middle of the clearing. The earth rocked under Maeryn's feet for a moment. The drifts of snow plummeted into the hole, but the mist skipped right across it, as untouched by gravity as it had been by wind. Aro and Caius watched the opening earth with wide eyes. Marcus looked in the same direction without emotion. They didn't speak; they waited, too, as the mist approached the foes. The wind shrieked louder but didn't change the course of the mist. Jane was smiling now. And then the mist hit a wall. The mist curled upward, seeking a breach, a weakness. It found none. The fingers of searching haze twisted upward and around, trying to find a way in, and in the process illustrating the astonishing size of the protective screen. There were gasps on both sides of Benjamin's gorge. "Well done, Bella!" Benjamin cheered in a low voice. Bella’s smile returned. I could see Alec's narrowed eyes, doubt on his face for the first time as his mist swirled harmlessly around the edges of her shield. "Now." Alec said, giving Maeryn the sign she had been waiting for. “Take your pick, Jane.” Maeryn whispered, ready to crack Bella’s shield once more. “With pleasure, sister.” Jane said in her childlike voice. Jane took her time, letting her ruby eyes glide over the foes. But Maeryn already knew whom Jane would pick. Jane smiled friendly at Maeryn. Maeryn nodded her head and focused on the one vampire who could destroy our plans, simply by knowing them before it had even been executed. Maeryn concentrated on Edward while Jane did the same. She used her gift on Edward, waiting for Maeryn to crack the shield. Maeryn made a small crack in Bella’s shield, right in front of Edward. Edward, whom had seen it coming, prepared himself for the pain and fell down once it hit him. Alec’s mist slowly crept inside, aiming for the chocolate colored wolf, with the little girl on top. Jacob fell to his knees, no longer being able to sense anything anymore. The three vampires smiled in triumph. But this triumph was for a short time only, as Bella used all her energy of her gift to close her shield, cutting Alec’s mist and blocking out Jane’s pain. But it didn’t matter. The foes knew they were no longer untouchable. It would be a difficult fight, but at least it would be a fair one, seeing as everyone could use their power. And Bella knew this too. "I'm going to have to concentrate," Bella whispered to Edward once he stood back up followed by Jacob, Renesmee still on his back. "When it comes to hand to hand, it's going to be harder to keep the shield around the right people. Especially when Maeryn keeps cracking it." "I'll keep them off you." Edward replied. "No. You have to get to Demetri. Zafrina will keep them away from me." Bella said as Zafrina nodded solemnly. "No one will touch this young one," she promised Edward. "I'd go after Jane and Alec myself, but I can do more good here." "Jane's mine," Kate hissed. "She needs a taste of her own medicine." "And Alec owes me many lives, but I will settle for his," Vladimir growled from the other side. "He's mine." “And I will take the newborn. She seems way to confident, and as soon as she is down, Bella’s shield will no longer be vulnerable." Peter said. “Besides, I know the most about killing newborns so that should not be a problem.” He said, cracking his knuckles. “Be careful though, she is a Volturi newborn, which differs from a regular newborn.” Carlisle said, knowing very well how the newborns are trained in the Volturi coven. “Don’t worry. Besides, if she is down, Alec will be vulnerable too, seeing as he lost his mate.” Peter continued, smiling at Vladimir, whom, in return, smiled back. "I just want
Caius," Tanya said evenly. The others started divvying up opponents, too, but they were quickly interrupted.
Aro, staring calmly at Alec's ineffective mist, finally spoke. "Before we vote," he began. Bella shook her head angrily. "Let me remind you," Aro continued, "whatever the council's decision, there need be no violence here." Edward snarled out a dark laugh. Aro stared at him sadly. "It will be a regrettable waste to our kind to lose any of you. But you especially, young Edward, and your newborn mate. The Volturi would be glad to welcome many of you into our ranks. Bella, Benjamin, Zafrina, Kate. There are many choices before you. Consider them." Chelsea's attempt to sway the foes fluttered impotently against Bella’s shield, but Maeryn wasn’t powerful enough yet to break through long enough for Chelsea’s gift to get through. Aro's gaze swept across their hard eyes, looking for any indication of hesitation. From his expression, he found none. "Let us vote, then," he said with apparent reluctance. Caius spoke with eager haste. "The child is an unknown quantity. There is no reason to allow such a risk to exist. It must be destroyed, along with all who protect it." He smiled in expectation. Maeryn smiled, knowing very well that if this was going to keep on going, the battle was only mere minutes away, and she couldn’t wait. Marcus lifted his uncaring eyes, seeming to look through the foes' eyes as he voted. "I see no immediate danger. The child is safe enough for now. We can always reevaluate later. Let us leave in peace." His voice was even fainter than his brothers' feathery sighs. None of the guard relaxed their ready positions at his disagreeing words. Caius's anticipatory grin did not falter. It was as if Marcus hadn't spoken at all. "I must make the deciding vote, it seems," Aro mused. Suddenly, Edward stiffened at Bella’s side. "Yes!" he hissed. Bella risked a glance at him. His face glowed with an expression of triumph that almost no one seemed to understand - it was the expression an angel of destruction might wear while the world burned. Beautiful and terrifying. There was a low reaction from the guard, an uneasy murmur. Including Maeryn’s, as she could smell two familiar and three unfamiliar scents. Four vampires, and one like the child on the chocolate brown wolf’s back. "Aro?" Edward called, nearly shouted, undisguised victory in his voice. Aro hesitated for a second, assessing this new mood warily before he answered. "Yes, Edward? You have something further... ?" "Perhaps," Edward said pleasantly, controlling his unexplained excitement. "First, if I could clarify one point?" "Certainly," Aro said, raising his eyebrows, nothing now but polite interest in his tone. "The danger you foresee from my daughter - this stems entirely from our inability to guess how she will develop? That is the crux of the matter?" "Yes, friend Edward," Aro agreed. "If we could but be positive... be sure that, as she grows, she will be able to stay concealed from the human world - not endanger the safety of our obscurity . . ." He trailed off, shrugging. "So, if we could only know for sure," Edward suggested, "exactly what she will become... then there would be no need for a council at all?" "If there was some way to be absolutely sure," Aro agreed, his feathery voice slightly more shrill. He couldn't see where Edward was leading him. Neither could Maeryn, nor Jane nor Alec. "Then, yes, there would be no question to debate." "And we would part in peace, good friends once again?" Edward asked with a hint of irony. Even more shrill. "Of course, my young friend. Nothing would please me more." Edward chuckled exultantly. "Then I do have something more to offer." Aro's eyes narrowed. "She is absolutely unique. Her future can only be guessed at." "Not absolutely unique," Edward disagreed. "Rare, certainly, but not one of a kind." Maeryn fought the shock, where there more creatures like Renesmee? The sickly-looking mist still swirled around the edges of Bella’s shield. And, as she struggled to focus, she felt again the sharp, stabbing pressure against her protective hold. But Maeryn wasn’t helping this time. She had grown
curious to their soon joining guests, her curiosity winning it over her bloodlust. "Aro, would you ask Jane to stop attacking my wife?" Edward asked courteously. "We are still discussing evidence." Aro raised one hand. "Peace, dear ones. Let us hear him out." Jane bared her teeth at Bella; and she couldn't help but to grin back at her. "Why don't you join us, Alice?" Edward called loudly. "Alice," Esme whispered in shock. "Alice!" "Alice!" other voices murmured around the meadow. "Alice," Aro breathed. Alec's mist still tested, seeking a weakness - Jane would see if Bella would left any holes. And then Maeryn heard them running through the forest, flying, closing the distance as quickly as they could with no slowing effort at silence. Both sides were motionless in expectation. The Volturi witnesses scowled in fresh confusion.

Wrong Numbers and Useless Gays (Chapter 7)
Happy Halloween!
Warning: Minor burns
Chapter 6 | Masterlist | Chapter 8
V- (8:04 AM) Happy first day of Halloween!
L- (8:05 AM) Virgil, it’s October 1st. Halloween isn’t for another 30 days.
V- (8:05 AM) We must be celebrating different holidays. Halloween lasts from October 1st to October 31st. For the entire month, you watch cheesy Halloween movies and decorate your home in black, purple, and orange. Spiders and bats become your daily esthetic. There are no exceptions to this rule.
P- (8:06 AM) I have arachnophobia and most of our decorations are green. Is that alright, Kiddo?
V- (8:06 AM) … There is one exception.
L- (8:07 AM) This is preposterous.
R- (8:07 AM) Calm down, Specs. Let our Dark and Stormy Knight have his holiday. We don’t want another incident of Pi Day, do we?
V- (8:08 AM) What happened on Pi Day?
P- (8:08 AM) Logan wanted to spend the day memorizing as many digits of Pi as possible. Roman told him that Pi day was only for baking pies. Logan decided to etch as many digits of pi as he could fit into the crust of a pie before baking it. Sadly, baking isn’t Lolo’s exPIEtise.
R- (8:09 AM) He almost burnt the house down. It was hilarious.
L- (8:09 AM) I will back down from this argument, if only to preserve my dignity. Since you decided to text us at 8 AM, I assume that you have plans to celebrate your “first day of Halloween?”
V- (8:10 AM) Yep. I’ve got my Scooby-Doo VHS tapes, an entire gallon of iced coffee, and enough decorations to cover every square inch of my house. Life is good.
R- (8:11 AM) Wait which tapes?
V- (8:11 AM) Zombie Island, Witch’s Ghost, Alien Invaders, and Cyber Chase. The 4 best Scooby-Doo movies to ever exist.
R- (8:12 AM) Now I REALLY wanna watch Scooby-Doo
V- (8:12 AM) What’s stopping you?
L- (8:12 AM) The desire to have a stable income
R- (8:13 AM) I’m starring as Van Helsing for our theatre’s production of Dracula. I’ve got rehearsals and performances almost every night.
V- (8:13 AM) Sorry. I’ll watch it in your stead.
R- (8:14 AM) Gee, how thoughtful of you
(October 8th)
L- (2:32 PM) Virgil, did you seriously buy MORE chocolates?
V- (2:32 PM) Do you like them?
L- (2:32 PM) That’s not the point.
L- (2:33 PM) This is the 7th set of sweets you’ve sent us in the past 8 weeks. First of all, this is extremely unhealthy. Second of all, how much money have you spent on these? Third of all, you tend to send chocolates specifically when you’re planning something that we disapprove of. So what, pray tell, are you planning this time?
V- (2:34 PM) Wow, I didn’t realize you were keeping track of that.
L- (2:34 PM) I keep track of everything. Quit ignoring the questions.
V- (2:35 PM) Okay. First of all, if they make you happy it doesn’t matter. Second of all, if it makes you happy it doesn’t matter. Third of all, if it makes you happy it doesn’t matter :)
L- (2:35 PM) …
V- (2:35 PM) Besides, you wouldn’t want me to STOP sending you sweets, would you?
L- (2:36 PM) … Curse you and your knowledge of my sweets addiction.
V- (2:36 PM) :)
(October 15th)
L- (5:47 PM) VIRGIL!
V- (5:48 PM) Hm?
L- (5:48 PM) DID YOU SERIOUSLY TP OUR HOUSE?!?!?
V- (5:49 PM) You have no proof
L- (5:50 PM) [*Photo Attachment*]
[The photo is of a door. There is a square of TP taped to the door, the words “VIRGIL WAS TOTALLY NOT HERE” written in sharpie]
V- (5:50 PM) See? I was totally not there.
V- (5:51 PM) And I sent you pre-apology chocolates, so you can’t get mad!
L- (5:52 PM) I CAN STILL GET MAD
V- (5:52 PM) NO YOU WON’T OR I’LL STOP GETTING YOU CHOCOLATES
L- (5:53 PM) YOU WOULDN’T
V- (5:53 PM) TRY ME BITCH
R- (5:55 PM) I don’t know WHAT you did, but Logan called me, screeched your name, and hung up. Keep up the good work, storm cloud ;)
(October 22nd)
V- (3:42 PM) Hey Pat?
P- (3:42 PM) What’s up, Kiddo?
V- (3:42 PM) You bake, right?
P- (3:43 PM) It would be very hard to run a bakery if I couldn’t, Kiddo!
V- (3:43 PM) True
V- (3:43 PM) So what do you do if your cookies catch on fire?
P- (3:43 PM) WHAT
V- (3:44 PM) [*Photo Attachment*]
[The photo is of an oven. The door is open, and inside is a tray of Pillsbury ghost sugar cookies. They are all on fire]
P- (3:44 PM) PUT IT OUT
V- (3:44 PM) HOW
P- (3:45 PM) DON’T YOU HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER?!?!
V- (3:45 PM) WON’T THAT RUIN THE COOKIES?
P- (3:45 PM) THOSE COOKIES ARE GONERS. ACCEPT YOUR LOSS
V- (3:46 PM) [*Photo attachment*]
[The photo is of the same oven. The door is still open, yet the entire inside of the oven is covered in foam]
V- (3:46 PM) Now what?
P- (3:46 PM) First of all, turn off the oven.
V- (3:47 PM) Done
P- (3:47 PM) Okay. Now answer me this: HOW THE FUDGE DID YOU MANAGE TO CATCH PREMADE SUGAR COOKIES ON FIRE???
V- (3:48 PM) I DON’T KNOW! I JUST PUT THEM IN THE OVEN AND SUDDENLY THEY WERE ON FIRE
L- (3:48 PM) Are you alright, Virgil? Did you sustain any burns or other injuries?
P- (3:48 PM) HOLY STARS I SHOULD’VE ASKED! ARE YOU OKAY VIRGIL?
V- (3:49 PM) I’m fine. I burned my wrist but it’s not that bad.
L- (3:49 PM) Will you please send a picture of your injury?
V- (3:49 PM) [*Photo attachment*]
[The photo is of a left hand. The hand is long, slender, and pale. The nails are long and painted black with cat noses and whiskers. The person’s wrist has a minor burn wound, around the size of a golf ball]
L- (3:50 PM) You are correct, Virgil. It appears to be a minor burn, no need to contact the hospital. However, I would greatly appreciate it if you tend to your burn at your earliest convenience.
P- (3:50 PM) Go wrap up that burn, kiddo! Make sure you add burn cream, too!
P- (3:51 PM) AND OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOUR NAILS! They’re PAWsitively PURRfect!
L- (3:51 PM) Please stop
P- (3:52 PM) Alright. Wouldn’t wanna have a CATastrophe, would we?
L- (3:52 PM) Please. I beg of you.
V- (3:53 PM) Okay, all patched up. What do I do about my cookies?
L- (3:53 PM) Make sure your oven has fully cooled down before attempting to clean it.
P- (3:54 PM) AND DON’T DO THAT EVER AGAIN, MISTER!
P- (3:54 PM) You nearly gave me a heart attack!
V- (3:55 PM) Sorry, won’t happen again.
L- (3:55 PM) I assume that this means you will be buying post-apology sweets? I assure you that it is unnecessary, Virgil. Your health and safety are more important than confectionaries.
L- (3:57 PM) Virgil?
L- (3:57 PM) Please refrain from buying more sweets.
L- (3:58 PM) I’ve already gained 3.4 pounds alone from these “Gifts”
V- (3:58 PM) Too late, already bought them
P- (3:58 PM) You don’t have to, Kiddo!
P- (3:59 PM) And Lolo, don’t blame V on your weight gain. I know Ro’s not the only one sneaking whole jars of jelly from the cabinets at night.
L- (3:59 PM) Virgil, how much are you spending on these sweets?
V- (4:00 PM) Would it help if I said that I get a discount since I purchase chocolates almost weekly?
L- (4:00 PM) VIRGIL
V- (4:01 PM) :)
R- (6:58 PM) Why does all the interesting stuff happen while I’m at work?
V- (6:59 PM) Get wrecked Princey
R- (6:59 PM) :(
V- (7:00 PM) Don’t worry I got you sweets too
R- (7:00 PM) :)
(October 24th)
L- (2:32 PM) VIRGIL!
V- (2:33 PM) Did you get your sweets? Send me a pick! I didn’t get to see the end result
P- (2:33 PM) [*Photo Attachment*]
[The photo is of three vases, each of different colors. The light blue vase is filled with tulips made of white chocolate. There are also chocolate-covered straberry and a giant chocolate lollipop with the words “I appreciate you a chocoLOT!” The red vase is filled with milk chocolate roses and another chocolate lollipop that says “Good luck slaying Vampires!” The navy blue vase is the most elaborate (probably just to mess with Logan). It’s filled with dark chocolate tulips AND roses, with a whole jar of crofters nestled into the middle of the bouquet. It’s lollipop reads “Weight and Cost are just #s!”]
P- (2:34 PM) These are ADORABLE, Virgil!
L- (2:34 PM) How much did you spend on this, Virgil?
V- (2:34 PM) Did you not read your lollipop?
V- (2:35 PM) Don’t worry about it, I wouldn’t buy the chocolates if I couldn’t afford them :)
L- (2:35 PM) My digestive system can’t afford them.
V- (2:36 PM) Well I couldn’t give you pre-apology chocolates so I had to give you epic post-apology chocolates.
P- (2:37 PM) Well, I cannot wait to eat these! Seriously, I’ve already eaten half a tulip. And these vases will look so pretty holding ACTUAL flowers! Thank you so much, V! But remember, you don’t have to do this. We don’t need apology sweets!
V- (2:38 PM) I know, but it’s comforting to know that there’s at least ONE way I can interact with you guys beyond texting. I’m sorry that I’m still not comfortable talking face-to-face yet.
P- (2:38 PM) That’s completely fine, Kiddo! Take all the time you need. We’ll be here when you’re ready.
L- (2:39 PM) I agree.Though I still do not see the purpose of excessive spending on our behalf.
R- (2:39 PM) Well I find it extremely thoughtful, storm cloud. I would type an entire ballad of how caring and kind you are, but I must get back to work. I shall speak with you tonight, fair raven.
V- (2:40 PM) Thanks, guys. It means a lot to me.
(October 31st)
L- (10:17 AM) How are you feeling about your “final day of Halloween,” Virgil?
V- (10:18 AM) Incredibly depressed
P- (10:18 AM) Aww. Why’s that, Kiddo?
V- (10:19 AM) You guys know how I travel around with my friends, right?
V- (10:19 AM) Well apparently we have to travel out today. We won’t be back until tomorrow afternoon.
R- (10:20 AM) I’m deeply sorry, my precious stormcloud. If I may ask, why do you have to travel tonight?
V- (10:20 AM) My friends like to go to parties out of town, and I go to make sure they don’t get themselves killed.
P- (10:21 AM) I’m sorry you have to miss Halloween, Kiddo. I know how much you were looking forward to it.
V- (10:22 AM) I’m still gonna wear my costume. Just because I can’t celebrate at home doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate at all.
L- (10:22 AM) What costume have you decided to wear?
V- (10:23 AM) [*Photo attachment*]
[Photo is the bottom half of someone’s face. They’re smiling, with black lipstick and fake Vampire teeth. There’s red liquid running down their chin.]
P- (10:23 AM) That looks FANGtastic, Virgil!
L- (10:23 AM) I hope you have an amenable experience at the party, Virgil.
R- (10:24 AM) I agree! You look amazing and I hope you enjoy the party, storm cloud. Do not worry, I will watch The Nightmare Before Christmas in your stead!
V- (10:25 AM) Wow I feel so grateful
R- (10:25 AM) :)

Fave characters from the last 5 things I’ve watched/read/seen/etc:
I was tagged by @a-lil-bi-furious forever ago, and I’m finally doing it. Yay. Go me. Long rambly post ahead.
1 - Isabelle Lightwood (Freeform’s Shadowhunters)
Izzy, Izzy, Izzy. There are so many good things to say about her. I love that she's so versatile; she's one of their best warriors, she's the Weapon's Master, she's a skilled forensic pathologist. She's incredibly intelligent and strong and also unabashedly feminine. She's faced demons and warlocks and rogue shadowhunters, and she beat them all in five-inch heels.
I love that she's so in control of and unashamed in her sexuality, despite her mother's and other's comments and snipes about it. She's gorgeous and enjoys sex and she owns it, and I'm so proud of her. I wish she got better love interests (like Clary), because I realize I didn't particularly like Raphael or Simon.
One of my favorite things of the whole show is her love for her family, most showcased with Alec. Her unwavering support in him, and trying to help him be his best, authentic self, is so pure, and her supporting him and Magnus is so refreshing compared he rest of their family just...not.
2 - Bonnie Bennett (The CW’s The Vampire Diaries)
Bonnie was my favorite from the moment I started (and probably one of my favorite characters of all time), and it broke my heart how the show treated her. She was a bold, brave, and powerful black Bennett witch who was controlled by racist writers and manipulated by selfish vampires.
But even with those obstacles, she did some incredible feats. She went up against (and beat) Originals multiple times, the first after she'd only been a practicing witch for a few months. She singlehandedly held back hellfire for a time and saved Mystic Falls (and all its residents' undeserving asses) numerous times and never got the appreciation she deserved.
She deserved her happy ending with Enzo and I will never forgive Plec (or Stefan) from taking that away from her. Even with everything she went through, she was kind, she was compassionate, she was understanding, and she was more forgiving than she probably should have been. Her interactions with Nora in season 7 warmed my heart.
3 - Maria DeLuca (The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico)
As Liz said, “Maria DeLuca is her own savior, every damn time.” And it's really unfortunate that the show (and the fandom) really make her keep proving it. This woman has so much on her shoulders, a sick mum and running a business. She's constantly alone, left out, and used as a prop for other's stories, and I hate it. Making her the obstacle for the fandom's favorite-gay-ship™️ was a bad move on the writers' part, and the treatment Heather Hemmens has received in playing her is horrendous.
With all that, Maria is still lively and outgoing and fun. Her wit is phenomenal, and any scene with her and Isobel snarking at each other is a hoot. Her little interactions with everybody are my favorite honestly. She's fiery and strong and bold, but I also so appreciate when we get to see her vulnerable. (Also, she looks like a goddess in that first gif.)
Full disclosure, I had a hard time deciding between Maria and Jenna Cameron as my favorite, and they literally have had like two scenes together at the end of S2 but I ship them hard. So if the show could just get on that, that'd be appreciated.
4 - Olivia Baker (The CW’s All American)
Words cannot describe how much I love Olivia. Just gotta get this out of the way, Samantha Logan is exceptionally gorgeous, and even my gay ass can't decide if I should pay more attention to Olivia or her brother when they're both on screen. But that's not important.
Something about Liv and her story just really resonated with me, and episode 1x12 had me bawling. Watching this good, kind, bright girl feel so alone and isolated was heart wrenching. She deserves the world, and I'm glad she's finding a good support system.
My favorite thing about Liv is how much she cares. If she sees something wrong or unjust, she does not hesitate to call it out, and if something is happening to her family or friends, she does everything she can to help. And that's a good thing, but I worry she focuses to much on others, at the expense of herself. I'd love if, in the coming season(s), she learns how to and is allowed to work on and take care of herself.
5 - Anissa Pierce (The CW’s Black Lightning)
My kick-ass superhero baby. She's a black, lesbian medical student and part-time teacher. Her love for her family is undeniable, as is her hatred if injustice. This drives her to become a vigilante superhero after only days/weeks of discovering her powers, and she fought her dad to a standstill (neither of them knew who the other was, but he was far more experienced than she was).
She's shown to be perhaps the physically strongest in the show (which I fucking love), and her fighting prowess is near unmatched. So like, that's obviously all cool, but it's only part of why I love her so. She's a force to reckoned with no matter what identity she's in (Anissa, Thunder, or Blackbird). She's passionate and loving.
Speaking of loving, her and Grace own my heart. An interracial wlw badass superpowered couple is basically everything I could want. They (and this whole damn show) are SO GOOD.
I'm tagging @rosaortecho and @wonderdoves, but like, no pressure. Or anyone who wants to, just say you were tagged by me so I can see y’alls opinions.
First Bonnie gif is from @bob-belcher, second from @imaginingxmen. For some reason I cannot get the formatting done with hers, just the others, so.
