Welcome to Yros! We are a 3-2-3, play-by-post, alternate universe wolf roleplay with fantasy elements borrowed from familiar media. Our community is for members 21+ years old and cater to older writers with lax requirements that still allow you to be in the thick of the in-character fun! With a focus on story, development and character interactions our character creation is freeform and store-free. We're here to collaborate on a story together and members will be in charge of changing the world and storyline with their own hands. Hello!

This August has been incredibly exciting for me, since it was on the 1st that I settled on a release date for Dreamlost Dogs! It’s a game that I have been developing for a little over a year and a half now, and while it is utterly terrifying to be sharing it with the world, I do feel like there is room in the gaming sphere for a very distinctly horrific canine tabletop experience, haha.

So, here’s the game’s summary:

Dreamlost Dogs is a surreal horror tabletop roleplaying game where the player characters are dogs. These dogs find themselves lost inside the Dream, an ominous and perilous realm where neither time nor place behave in natural ways. These dogs must find a way to escape the Dream before the nightmares take hold, changing them in irreversible, aberrant ways. Can you escape the Dream as a dog, or succumb to becoming a living nightmare?

In essence, it is a tabletop roleplaying game / board game hybrid, which can be played both solo as well as in a group, and as such, it does not require a game master! It is up to the players to decide how much they wish to roleplay in the game, and while immersion through roleplaying is recommended, it does also work as more of a board game experience. The game is print & play, meaning that it requires physical pieces for it to be played, but some parts of it will also be available digitally (since I do not expect people to be able to print out booklets, haha).

I have a week-by-week schedule for finishing the game by April 2024, and I will be making weekly update posts about how the game is coming along. For example, this month, I’ve got the following done in three week’s time:

– Setting up socials, Patreon, a website and a Discord server for the game – Added 12 random encounters – Added some side characters (this game’s equivalent of NPCs!) – Honed pre-existing mechanics – Did a whole bunch of worldbuilding / writing lore

I do also attend university and have a job, so my schedule is made in such a way that it will not overwhelm me. I’m confident that the game will be finished in time!

Going forward, in addition to giving quick weekly updates on the game, I will be posting more in-depth looks at the game’s development on Patreon and the Discord server (available to supporters). On the server I will also be hosting monthly sketch/art raffles, and possibly other benefits as I figure them out along the way!
