Everyone is excited about Alfred Molina (Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Spider-Man 2 (2004)) returning to the role of Doctor Octopus in the upcoming movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. My hope is that this will lead to @paramountpics @paramountplus @paramountnetwork @paramountmovies releasing the 2002 sitcom BRAM AND ALICE on VOD. Bram and Alice starred Alfred Molina, Traylor Howard (Monk, Two Guys A Girl And A Pizza Place) and Katie Finneran (Wonderfalls, I Hate My Teenage Daughter, The Michael J Fox Show, Brockmire). Initially CBS only aired the first 4 of a total of 9 episodes. Universal HD aired all 9 episodes in 2010. FREE AGENTS - September 2011 NBC Hank Azaria as Alex Taylor Kathryn Hahn as Helen Ryan Anthony Stewart Head as Stephen Yates Al Madrigal as Gregg Natasha Leggero as Emma Parker Joe Lo Truglio as Walter Mo Mandel as Dan Mackey Hank Azaria kills it as a recently divorced schlub, basically a more handsome and articulate Moe Szyslak. Easily his best work ever before Brockmire.   Kathryn Hahn in her best or one of her best roles ever. Instead of playing the weird sister in Traffic Light or whatever, she’s the smart it girl, who is also a mess because she’s been recently widowed and has massive photos of her dead husband all over her apartment.  Anthony Head from Buffy and VR.5 is what was once known quaintly as a “wildly inappropriate” boss.  Al Madrigal was also at the Daily Show at this point. This was 2 years after Gary Unmarried and 3 years before he played the same character, more or less, on About A Boy.  Natasha Leggero was super Natasha Leggero in this.  Joseph Lo Truglio after The State, before Brooklyn Nine-Nine.   I loved this show. It’s set in Portland, but filmed elsewhere, so there’s plenty of Portland love here.   4 episodes made it to air before the series got cancelled. 4 more unaired episodes have been available VOD on Amazon. No one really knows about the show so those episodes really have not been available through unreputable sources. But it’s the fucking apocalypse, so today I said “Fuck It!” and purchased the episodes on VOD. Today I get to watch episodes 5-8. After I rewatch the first 4. Way before Glee, American Horror Story, and Nip/Tuck, Ryan Murphy created Popular... Unique, ridiculous, insanely funny, and way ahead of the curve which only meant one thing... cancellation. People didn't get it and they MISSED OUT, but the ones who did (you know who you are) loved it and still remember.

But what’s most impressive is how each of the actors took what could have been stereotyped roles and made them realistic and relatable.
