#oh this makes SO much sense all of a sudden #in case 2-2 when she gives you the sword she says “kazuma would have wanted you to have it” #and i was baffled because- do you know kazuma??? how do you know this #like i wrote about 1k words of fic about it because the discrepancy confused me that much #but if you're supposed to know that she's unusually familiar with him from the START #that make sense now. (tags via @kazumasdiary)
yep! to be fair i don't think ryuunosuke ever comments on her doing this even in the original japanese so it's very much a subtext thing. and reading your tags i just remembered another difference in the localization vs the original that people might not know about:
ryuunosuke calls asougi by his last name
which to be clear doesn't detract at all from their close friendship! that's the norm in japanese culture! and also i understand why the localization changed them to using first names for each other - it's very much a reasonable decision, that's the norm for friends in english culture
but like. kazuma's best friend calls him asougi. whereas this extremely polite judicial assistant who has no apparent non-professional relation to him calls him kazuma. and she's the only person to do this until, iirc, professor mikotoba after the 2-3 revelation. all of that, plus the point i was making in the initial post, makes the "how does susato know kazuma so well?" question extremely fascinating
one thing that annoys me so much about the dgs localization is that susato calls asougi "kazuma-sama" but uses -san or no honorific for everyone else. when in fact the reason "kazuma-sama" hits so hard is that in the original japanese, susato calls everyone -sama (yes, including ryuu!). she constantly uses the most polite language possible, which generally means everyone older than her is [last name]-sama (ryuu, sherlock, gregson) and everyone her age or below is [first name]-sama (haori, iris, gina)
so one mystery that should linger in the back of the player's mind even in dgs 1 is: why does she call asougi by his first name?

the girls in a band masterlist
here is my attempt to create a complete record of comics, shows, and movies about girls that are in a band. migrated from a cohost post. i have personally seen or read all of these. i have also added editorialization with my opinions of them. each section is vaguely in a "most-to-least liked" order, but i tried not to think about it too hard.
my criteria is vague and ephemeral. but generally it is along the lines of: there is at least one girl, and preferably at least two, performing with a physical instrument of any kind with a group of people. purely idol groups dont count for this. also see: The Formula
tv
we are lady parts: the only non anime entry in this section of the list, surprisingly! but a pinnacle of the form. i LOVE this show, it's incredible. and only twelve ~20 minute episodes total! the canonical girls in a band television show. it's funny, it's heartfelt, it's got hella band content. it's about a UK muslin girlpunk band trying to recruit an insanely anxious guitar player into their band while navigating family and relationships, like you do. this is one of my favorite early scenes in case you want more convincing: https://youtu.be/tzAGqmdOBzE
sound euphonium: this time, its a wind ensemble! the sports anime of girls in a band. incredible yuri. the first season is about Competition (guys we gotta rehearse real good and try and get past the prefectural competition!). and then the second season is about Trauma (band-wise, family-wise, relationship-wise, and more!). an adaptation of a bunch of light novels that are unfortunately mostly not translated into english (or not translated very well)
girls band cry: a truly fantastic show. as you can tell from the name, it knows exactly what its about. girl moves to tokyo to escape her family and then gets swept off her feet by an ex-member of a band she likes. this one is mostly about girls being pieces of shit. basically all of the characters are kinda a dick in a fun way, and it makes for great storytelling. going in, the main girl is sorta setting up to be a cute and demure, but it turns out she's a huge asshole to everyone around her. the band (togenashi togeari) is also a real life band that is performed by the voice actresses, and has great music and a 10-song album already! their music is very good. also the show is cg animation but it REALLY goes wild with it and makes the characters super expressive. literally no caveats on the style here like you normally get with cg, it's fantastic animation
bocchi the rock (adaptation of the comic): you've probably heard about this one. girl so anxious her animation is constantly melting gets roped into joining a band. takes the sorta ok 4koma and goes crazy with the adaptation, making use of animation to elevate the sorta basic 4koma gags into full-ass comedy scenes. awesome performances and music.
scott pilgrim takes off: reimagining of the scott pilgrim comic. even more great band content. it's good
k-on (adaptation): pure fluff girls in a band. very cute. kinda like spooning sugar directly into your mouth. it's fun. i wouldn't call it "plotless" but it's basically just about having fun with your friends in a band. oh my god as im writing this i just remembered this is an adaptation of a 4koma that i havent read yet, so i need to do that i have done this now
bang dream its mygo: yep, it's a bang dream! i havent played the gatcha games, but this is a perfectly good standalone show. sticks to the girls in a band formula. stop me if you've heard this one before: a girl wants to form a band, and tries to rope an anxious girl into joining. the cg animation is pretty good in my opinion, but it's still definitely that kind of thing where you might have to get over it
jellyfish can't swim in the night: this more or less slides into this list on technicalities (they have a guitar player and a pianist! and...a producer! and also an artist. they also do perform on a stage. thats a band, right? probably). an artist, who became disillusioned with drawing when her middle school friends mocked a drawing she was proud of, is swept off her feet by an ex-idol (sound familiar?) that's in love with that art piece she is now ashamed of. they form essentially an online artist collective, producing music and music videos with artist girl's art and ex-idol girl's singing. it's about being a Creator online and dealing with all that entails (online identities, shitty randos). the characters all have some Trauma from their respective middle school experiences, and they are working through it. the show started out very strong, but fell apart in the second half and now that it's finished i dont really recommend watching it. very unfortunate
carole and tuesday: directed by the cowboy bebop guy! very up and down. two girls living on Future Mars playing guitar and keyboard form a duo together. the first half was pretty good! it's about them forming their group and gradually getting more famous. the second half is horrible and has insane stupid liberal politics. (what if trump wasn't actually a bad guy he was just being blackmailed by an evil ai or some shit like that. ive pushed it out of my mind. just watch the first half if you want to see it)
whisper me a love song (adaptation): this sure is an adaptation of the manga! i think the manga is only ok and this adaptation is pretty cheap and brings nothing new to the table. also still airing at the time of writing so this adaptation just kinda ground to a halt with like 3 episodes left to go and there's no sign of it continuing to air. weird. it still wasnt very good
bang dream: yep, it's a bang dream! this is the only anime on this list i actively made the decision to stop watching because i hated it so much. i finished season 1, but then season 2 had awful cg and made it clear that i was missing things from not having played the gatcha. don't bother with this and watch mygo instead if you want an actual television show
movies
linda linda linda: my favorite movie and one of my favorite things ever. after a girl band lost two members before their big school festival performance, they ask the first girl they see to join their band as a vocalist, who happens to be a korean exchange student who doesn't speak much japanese. teenage shenanigans ensue as they scramble to figure out their new performance in just a few days. the story is portrayed in a kinda dreamy, meandering way, and is very much about high school girls being high school girls. they know they need to do something important but they keep getting distracted by other things in their lives
liz and the blue bird: my second favorite movie and also one of my favorite things ever. a spinoff of sound euphonium, set after the events of the first two seasons of the show, but very much a standalone thing that can be watched in isolation. two girls (a flutist and an oboist) are playing a duet in this year's show, but a fallout in their relationship in the years prior is still interfering with their performance. they need to resolve their differences and their love and their futures in order to ensure the success of the entire ensemble in the competition. everything about it is gorgeous. i don't know what else to say. a movie where just watching a performance can make you cry
swing girls: movie about teenage chaos. a brass band is going to perform in a baseball game. but then basically everyone gets sick. so they need to try and put together a new band! i gotta rewatch this one it's been a while my memory is hazy
sound euphonium our promise a brand new day (sequel): and now the direct sequel to season 2 of the anime! this is definitely not a standalone thing. remember liz and the blue bird? this takes place during that same year! you get to see the full performance of that piece! but this time it's about the girls from the show and in the show's art style
the runaways: kristen stewart plays joan jett in this one and she's so hot that it basically has ruined my ability to have any coherent thoughts about the movie. if that sounds like a pitch to you then you should watch it
k-on (sequel): sequel to the anime! the girls take a trip to london. not really a standalone thing but i guess you could watch it on its own if you really wanted to. just a great compression of the fun of the show into movie form. girls having a good time
scott pilgrim vs the world (adaptation): you already know this one. i like the story of the comic more but the character performances are great
josie and the pussycats: goofy in that disney channel movie kinda way. the government is secretly trying to use subliminal messaging in music to mind control people into buying things. and the girls' band is brought into this evil world. and only they can stop it....
we are the best: swedish film about some 13 year old girls trying to form a punk band even though they don't actually know how to play any instruments. it's fine! definitely girls in a band but it didn't do much for me
jem and the holograms: i really wanted to find a contrarian viewpoint on this movie to be like "everyone says its bad but i dunno i think its fun!" but no, it just is actually bad. four sisters rocket to fame after uploading one of the sisters singing to youtube. and also there is...a....robot? made by one of the girls' father, that uhhh beatboxes and leads them on a scavenger hunt? i only watched this like four days ago and it's already rolling off my mind. dumb in the "bad disney channel original movie" way (unlike josie and the pussycats which has a goofy camp charm going for it)
comics
how do we relationship: yuri about two college students who are in their school's band club. more focused on their relationship than the bands, but there still is a lot of band content and performances
scott pilgrim: what more can be said
bocchi the rock gaiden: hiroi kikuri no fukazake nikki: the better version of the bocchi the rock comic, since it's not a 4koma. follows a mostly drunken hiroi around, which is something we all want and need
k-on: a great 4koma! unlike the bocchi manga, this really stands on its own as a well-done comic beyond the (also excellent) adaptation. sticks to the format really well and has some truly hilarious gags that i think would only work in 4koma form. lots of fun. also holy hell mugi is really gay in it. im glad the high school sequel comic gave ui and azusa got their own volume to be in the spotlight, they deserve it
beat & motion: wow, jellyfish can't swim in the night really is just doing the same plot as this, huh. and it makes it into this list on an even more tenuous technicality than jellyfish did. an artist, who became disillusioned with drawing when her his middle school friends mocked a drawing she he was proud of, is swept off her feet by a ex-idol musician he's a fan of that's in love with that art piece she is now ashamed of an animation he posted online. this is DEFINITELY "boys in a band". and its KINDA "girls in a band"? im allowing this in the list because it's absolutely got the vibes and two women do play instruments together in it like once or twice. i am enjoying it so far, curious to see where it goes
nana: i stopped reading this after 9 volumes (out of 21) because it got kinda bad and boring. but i enjoyed everything before that! and there is also an anime adaptation and two live action movies i need to watch. two girls named nana, one of whom is/used to be in a band run into each other randomly and end up living together. sort of in the "how do we relationship genre" of girls in a band where it's more about the relationships inside and out of the band. but nana is very much in the band and performs a lot! this is the most heterosexual yuri ive ever seen. they say the most romantic things about each other and talk about kissing all the time and then will be like "damn all this romantic talk about my roommate is really making me hanker for a boyfriend"
whisper me a love song: bloom into you-kind yuri about one of the girls falling in love with the other girl's performance in a band. very basic yuri stuff
bocchi the rock: the manga that spawned the anime! it's a 4koma. and believe it or not, it's not actually very good. the anime did a lot to tighten up the jokes and storytelling
k-on shuffle: it's k-on again! but with different girls. as of writing only one volume is out. it's...fine! i dont care about the characters as much as the original show which is a pretty big knock against it
hello melancholic: also yuri, but didn't leave as much of an impression on me. girl gets pressured into joining a band because she's too gay to say no
kuuden noise no himegimi / kuuden no himegimi: less explicitly yuri, but, you know, girls. also didn't leave too much of an impression on me. guitar girl with an ex-rocker dad meets a girl with a beautiful singing voice. and then joins a band with some of her dad's rocker buddies, then tries to get singer girl to join. its kinda slow and very elemental to this genre in the sense that its mostly just people talking about the band and band related things (practicing, how hard it is to compose music, etc). also one of the few of these that lets its band be properly bad and disliked by people
things that I will add once i read/watch them:
shiori experience
super sonico
show by rock
her smell
miss granny
and that's all i got! let me know what ive missed. i (obviously) love this genre so i'll consume most anything in it

Hi im ranting
I've been into retro gaming lately so, of course, i checked out some retro anime I watched as a kid ( The Rose of Versailles, Kodomo No Omocha, Glass Mask, etc.. ) but I never watched the very popular Boys Over Flowers = Hana Yori Dango ( also, the title translation is a bit off, no ? wouldn't it be Flowers Over Dango ? anyway)
Tumblr media
So I started reading the manga first, because most of the time, the animated versions lack some crucial info and heavily mischaracterize the characters ( if you ever saw AND read Sailor Moon ) and then I gagged.
TW/ mention of rape
Domyoji. You absolute wretched creature. I never wanted to punch a teenager this badly in my life. During my entire reading experience, I forced myself to scan every page with a fine-tooth comb, because I kept convincing myself that, maybe, I missed the part in his tragic background story that would explain WHY he's such an unlovable boy, but no. I don't see why he's the main love interest, and maybe that's just me but, I'm not fond of the Love At First Punch trope, in this manga specifically.
It can be well done, but here it's ruined by the fact that Domyoji isn't someone I want to root for.
In Kodomo No Omocha, the main love interest, Akito is a mean-spirited kid who has no regard for authority figures ( he almost drowned one of his classmates, so..), and he does so because his family despises him for causing his mother to die at his birth, his sister hurls insults at him, his father ignores him, he has no one to confide in. So, when he gets his character development, I'm very happy about it.
In Hana Yori Dango, Domyoji's first reaction when he gets kicked by Tsukushi, is to send 4 guys to rape her. It's not some cute little banter, it's disgusting. It never happened, but if that was the first thing he thought to do to a girl that just pissed him off, I have a hunch this isn't the first time he did this to someone. Then he mistakenly believes she has a crush on him, and when she does ANYTHING that suggests that she's not interested in him, he injustifiably gets upset and throws a temper tantrum.
Like the time he thought Tsukushi was in love with Rui. Did he try talking to her about it, putting his feelings in the light, telling her he's attracted to her ? NO, he punches a window and forcefully kisses her, saying how awful she is, "look what you made me do" type shit.
I'm blaming his god-awful parents for his lack of empathy and low EQ, because it's just so convenient to throw your hush money at the face of everyone rightfully calling out your son's dreadful behavior, instead of educating him.
I would say that Rui is the only one I kind of liked, at the very least, he had the decency to stop kissing Shizuka when he realized how wrong it was for him to continue when she didn't reciprocate his actions. But then again, birds of a feather flock together, so he's also trash, but less trash than the others I guess.
Sojiro and Akira are really just there. Akira's home life is pretty regular, and if it wasn't for the fact that he sleeps around with married older women, I'd say he's pretty normal. Sojiro's backstory was expected, it's a recurring trope for playboy characters, a kid in a unhappy household, finds someone he can really be at ease with, and they go separate ways for whatever reason. I don't necessarily like them, but I have to give them credit, they're scummy dudes and they don't hide it.
Then again, they're stereotypical rich kids, they look down on commoners, there's no repercussions to their actions, their sense of responsibility is almost nonexistent.
Going back on Domyoji, the reason for his attitude is the absence of his parents when he was a kid, only having his older sister and an old servant to keep him company. He started to believe his parents didn't love him, and, to my understanding, kept getting into trouble with other children to blow off some steam, and also to try and attract his parents attention. Which is fine, like, I get his thought process here.
But like, why is that happening ? I get that he's still a teenager here, but you'd think that his parents would take into account the fact that he's going to be the heir to all of their businesses and, at the very least, send him to a specialist to evaluate his mental health, and determine if he's really apt to take care of the family business.
It's mind-blowing to me really, you want to leave your business to a boy who struggles to even say 'please' or 'thank you' or 'I'm sorry' ?? If you can't care for your kids, at least make sure they're well-balanced human beings ! One of the most wealthy families in Japan, and that's the kid you're showing off, I would've let the older sister take care of the business, how did she turn out fine and not him ?
And then, the mom has the AUDACITY to be upset when Domyoji doesn't want to follow her instructions, like DUH !! Should've been here when he was still a love-hungry kid, you could've manipulated him then.
But even with Domyoji's conceited and narcissistic conduct, I still find myself hoping for an okay ending for him, mainly because his character kind of grew on me, but also because his fate is interlocked with Tsukushi's, even though I wish it wasn't, but the number of times he saved her, you'd think she's being targeted by divine punishment.
The time she got stranded in a snow storm, when she got kidnapped and had her hair cut off, when the whole school ganged up on her because of some rumors ( that happened multiple times btw ), when Domyoji's mother threatened to ruin her family and went after her friends. Like, that's a lot. Worst part being, they're all caused by him, directly or indirectly.
Also, all of their misunderstandings, URRGGH ! Some of them were SO avoidable ! Just talk to each other ! But they're so proud and full of themselves that I want to get on my knees and kowtow to their friends for clearing things up for them.
Speaking of them, I think we can all agree that Sakurako didn't love Domyoji, right ? She felt insulted to have been called ugly by him, so she became insecure and had plastic surgery. And to prove to herself and to others that she is a beautiful girl, she started going around and flirting with other people's boyfriends to feed in her ego. But her goal with Domyoji was to get him to admit that she is a beautiful girl, and kind of becoming a sort of power couple with him, but I don't think she loves him.
At least, Tsukushi's indecisiveness is realistic, I'd also take a long time before knowing if I really love someone, or do I just feel gratitude because they pulled my ass off the fire. Also because he was an asshole at first.
Even with all the frustration I feel toward this manga, I'll admit it was entertaining, Tsubaki ( Domyoji's sister ) is one of my favorite characters, along with Tsukushi, who, at first I felt neutral over, and I pitied her after, but after some time, I was genuinely rooting for her to get the relationship she wished for, even though it was with Domyoji, I felt like a mother watching over her child.
ALSO, the manga falls into the cliché Madonna-Whore Complex (unfortunately) out of the 3 girls that have tried to get Domyoji, 2 of them actively tried to sleep with him ; and Tsukushi is a virgin, because how could she not be, it's a shojo manga, her mind might not be pure, but her body is.
It's not very insightful as far as ranting goes, I just wanted to blow off some steam, but feel free to tell me your thoughts if you've also read it :)

the title alone of omniscent reader sound very interesting. can i.... hear about it? :)
okayyy yessss. im specifically referring to the webcomic here but omniscient reader's viewpoint is based off of a massive beast of a novel thats like thousands of pages and is not very well translated. if you want a good start to orv i'd start off with the webcomic available on webtoon! its very accurate to the book and you have the bonus of looking at cool art.
the general plot of it is the main character, kim dokja, a hashtag average guy in a dead end job, get transported to the world of a post-apocalyptic story called the ways of survival he's been reading for the past 13 years. the world works like a video game which you might know from other similar webcomics. where it gets interesting is:
a) the meta and narrative of author vs story vs reader. kim dokja has been reading this updating online webnovel for the past thirteen years ever since he was a kid. he fell in love with the world, stories, and characters, and as he goes on in this world the line between him and this fictional reality begins to blur. it goes a lot into how you can never really know the true reality of a story but rather only your own interpretation of it, and then said well what if you replace stories with people? its a really interesting theme that's very well done but takes a while to properly dig into.
b) what gets most people including me into it: the relationship between kim dokja and the original protagonist of the ways of survival, yoo joonghyuk. joonghyuk is a regressor which means whenever he dies he gets reset back in time, and this happens to him thousands of times. hes a textbook brooding protagonist and dokja is very aware of this. but also this is a guy dokja has been obsessed with for the past 13 years. he very much Wants to Be Him and Looked Up To Him. when dokja gets shoved into the novel and they meet, joonghyuk is on his 3rd regression. and he also just chokes him out over a bridge. dokja is like wait hold on im uhhh a prophet i can help you let me be your Companion (the word companion comes up a lot in this story) and then joonghyuk tries to kill him because he can't accept the offer like a normal person. he keeps running into dokja and being surprised that he's alive and they start a weird rivalry that devolves into obsession and then full on passionate declarations of allegiance and THEN it becomes "i cant tell where you end and i begin." no one is doing it like them. also one of them wears white and one of them wears black
Tumblr media
^ me and the bad bitch i pulled by being doomed by god
anyways read omniscient reader's viewpoint its good and might make you cry.

i was mostly joking for the sake of making a point.. but actually now im kinda interested- please say more on akeshukita i need to rotate them in my brain like a microwave
NONO anon listen-- I MEAN if you look in my profile or in the akeshukita tag you'll see i drew them a bunch lol but i'll try to pitch this ass short as my brainrot allows me
Akeshukita has good dynamics all around, in every direction the ship works and it works in a different way that complements the other parts of the ship, let's start with the ship that started all this flood of weird anon hate for some reason
Shuake is a very passionate ship, i see them as a strong chemical reaction, very powerful (ejem, maybe very toxic even) but the main thing or like the main problem for shuake is that they lack stability, it's an unstable ship, of course i mean, you kinda just fix it and move on right, but when we analyse it, Akechi leaves, Joker sulks, Akechi could be alive without telling Joker, they hate eachother, they love eachother, in general, unstable. But they're still like so passionate and tragic and the whole aspect of fate it's sooooo good, on the contrary Shukita is almost exactly the opposite, Shukita is a highly domestic ship, in which it's easy to imagine them just living together with a normal, basic, loving life. This can be very good for fluff and comfort, but we can't deny that it lacks a certain spice that you can definitely find in Shuake. So between these two ships, they can complement each other. Yusuke adds some stability to Shuake, Akechi adds some spice to Shukita
Now here's the kicker: Akekita is a criminally underrated amazing ship. In Akekita both Yusuke and Akechi can find something they could never find in a relationship with joker, which is relatability. Yusuke and Goro are so similar that Yusuke himself in game said that if the PTs hadn't gotten to him, he could have easily gone a similar route Goro did. And when you think about early game Yusuke, the one that blackmails them and threatens the Phantom Thieves, he's right. As much as Joker could love either of them, there's just going to be a comfort that they would be able to find in eachother and that they wouldn't be able to find in anyone else, but they still need Joker to act as a bridge, Akechi wouldn't open himself to Yusuke just like that, Akechi is so closed off and the only person he lets in is Joker, and for Yusuke Joker is a regulator, Joker also knows how to manage Yusuke's eccentricities and translate them to the rest of the world. (seee just the entire Yusuke SL which is basically Yusuke misinterpreting things and Joker being there to explain and aid)
i swear i tried to be as brief as i could but i deadass LOVE THIS SHIP A LOT

For the ask game, 5 or 9 please!!!
I've been going absolutely nuts for your worldbuilding, it's so cool~
mcytblr writer ask game
AAAAA thank you so much for the compliment!!! :D im so glad you like my worldbuilding :]
5.) How do you translate the world of Minecraft to fit into your fanfics when you keep the original setting?
It sorta depends on the story!!! Sometimes what i want to tell requires a different understanding of Minecraft than others-- for hermitcraft and the life series in particular, i tend to go for a more sci-fi feel with code and game mechanics built in, but in the past ive worked with more fantasy-based aus too :] i think it really just depends on what i want for whatever story i happen to be telling, and what holds the most interest for me at the time; i rarely keep strict worldbuilding between different aus, although i will say hunger au has hardcore crept into my psyche for how i view the concept of players and server coding :]
9.) How do you worldbuild?
On gods the very foundation of my worldbuilding is always built on either "hey wouldnt this be neat???", "hey wouldnt this be magnificently fucked up???", or, most commonly, both. I always, always start with something along those lines-- for hunger au, it was "wouldnt it be super fucked up and also hella cool if Watchers were actually parasites??" and then four hours down the rabbit-hole of research later i was looking into ketoacidosis, the electromagnetic spectrum, and the life cycles of parasitic wasps 😂😂😂😂😂 the brainrot gets a hold of me fast, what can i say
But basically, i think of a broad concept, and then i start thinking about how i can ground it in some degree of realism (due to personal preference), and also inside the setting of whatever story im trying to tell. Its a sort of natural ripple outwards for me-- if i make this a thing, who and what does that effect? What makes this possible?? How does it work, what makes it work?? And then i follow those threads all the way down, before branching off in different directions to see what ELSE that affects.
The thing about worldbuilding that ive found is everything is connected-- when you think of the world as a system, where everything influences everything else, it becomes a lot easier to see those connecting points and ask yourself questions about them!! Which then leads to answers to those questions, and eventually each puzzle piece starts to slot together into one very broad picture :]
The other thing i do is i tend to look at something and go "hm. how can i make this different than what i normally see," which is something i value a lot in my work!!! I like fiddling with a concept and seeing what kind of fresh spin i can put on it. It feels valuable to me in a way i have a hard time articulating, but i feel like the new perspectives i gain by doing that can really elevate my worldbuilding to levels i wasnt fully aware existed beforehand :]

(( OOC Post! edited last 5/9/2025))
I saw someone have a separate post about the norms of the world their muse is in (I'm so sorry I forget who) and I thought that would be a good idea! uh. this may be a text wall and more may be added. I love my HCs im sorry. ))
There are small basic animals in her universe, such as pollinator species (moths, bees, ect), fish, and small near the bottom of the food chain animals (mice, fish, other bugs, small birds) To me this makes sense because there are both plant Pokemon and normal plants in the actual canon, and stuff needs to pollinate somehow lmao. There are no large animals, this niche is only filled by Pokemon.
Killing Pokemon to consume is frowned upon in some regions. There are still people who do, and these differing opinions often clash.
Meat made in labs is becoming more mainstream, and is indistinguishable from the meat from our universe on a taste and nutrition level. The meat is referred to as chicken/beef/pork ect to differentiate it from pokemon meat.
Pokemon have varying levels of sentience. Most Pokemon have a basic understanding of the ideas of what a human is trying to convey, with Pokemon (and their humans) gaining more understanding from each other as their bond grows. Some Pokemon are on a close level to humans, and some perhaps even more so, though this is not confirmed.
The "power of friendship" is a real force in her Pokemon world. The more love you have for your partners the stronger you and your team are, though of course training and strategy is also important. Building bonds with your Pokemon also allow both trainer and Pokemon to understand each other better.
Rarely, people can directly understand Pokemon as if they are speaking common language, but this is very rare and usually something they are born with. Usually, trainers and Pokemon can get a basic idea about what theyre communicating to each other once they know each other well, depending on individuals.
I have a whole post about how pokeballs and the box system works here , basically they give them a little mini enjoyable environment :D
Pokeballs will not work unless the Pokemon has at least a tiny bit of want to be captured. Masterballs are hugely frowned upon
There are no dogs or cats in universe. The words "dog" and "cat" (ect) are used just as descriptive terms for certain mons. Hopefully that makes sense?
My HCs are a combination of the anime, games and occasionally small bits of the manga, with the largest focus on games. I also mix in irl animal facts. Because I am the animal version of Shilo's encyclopedia.
Some things specifically about Muse, May Be Updated In Future!
Shilo gives off odd vibes. Usually people get used to her but many will feel the need to avoid her, as if something is off. On the other hand, Pokemon are naturally drawn to her and tend to trust her.
She human. Mostly. As for the details, I hope to one day be good enough to reveal them well, lmao.
While unable to directly translate, she is strangely good at being able to tell what a Pokemon is trying to communicate.
Shilo is autistic as fuck and sometimes kinda annoying. Her special interest is Pokemon and she is basically a walking Pokedex.
Shilo's sanctuary is on a small unnamed island nearby Sinnoh. Technically it isn't a part of any region. She works there mainly alone (technically some of her Pokemon act as staff willingly). The facility itself is small but the island itself is large enough to comfortably fit many many Pokemon.
Shilo wants to befriend at least one of every single species of Pokemon. She knows this is unrealistic. She will try anyway.
Shilo has dissociative identity disorder, some anxiety issues, minor PTSD, possible DID, and some major imposter syndrome
She's not very good at making people friends and her new Rotomblr friends are very novel to her.
Her childhood was mildly traumatic, so she doesn't want to visit Unova again, but is happy to explore any other region, and often does.
she doesnt remember how old she is exactly but she's near her early to mid 20s
As of December 2024, Shilo has started to suspect she can heal wounds that appear lethal and she has even proven that she can grow back teeth. She is trying not to think about what this implies.
As of May 9th 2025 she is out of denial that she is likely immortal or something like it.
Also now knows she has a high resistance to intoxicats and needs lethal (to normal people) amounts to feel anything
Also has been drinking regularly, but has been hiding it when on her blog since it worries people.
About some side characters and Pokemon:
Alistair is her cranky roommate/helper who owes her a debt. He knows barely anything about Pokemon and they do not like him very much. He gets attacked a lot.
Rin is the first Pokemon Shilo befriended. She has a scar over her left eye due to Pokemon hunters when she was young. She is more powerful than the average Zoroark, and tends to hang out in human form so she can have human privileges. She cannot speak human regardless of her form.
Her Espeon and Umbreon (Morgan and Simon, respectively ((also both female despite their names)) ) are her very good emotional support mons.

hi hello heres the some guy beating up some robot you ordered
(to be clear im basing most my fnaf game knowledge on ucn and my punchout knowledge on wii, cause like those are the only ones ive played)
so like in total the fight would involve freddy, foxy, marionnete, all the balloon children (including the lil uh oh how un fortunate bitch >:3 ),
the fight itself you would be boxing good ol normal freddy however he would have a bunch of paraphernalia on him, specifically: a thingy on the left side of his hat with a music box, his hat which if punched enough can come off and reveal some small child, and a vent on his right "abdomen" from which many things can pop out of.
fnaf in general is like about "resource" management in the sense that the resources are how pissed the various robots are so that would be translated over to this by way of punching different spots depending on whats necessary at the time.
now in punchout, hitting the head during stun is generally simply better as it does more damage. however, there exists the hat of many small fellows, and like every 5 head taps theres a "chance" (probably a preset order) of either bb, jj, or the uh oh how unfortunate one. bb does a real quick slap that cuts your stamina (the heart meter) in half. like does Current-(Total*.5), so like if the total was 8 it takes 4 no matter how much u have. this in fact could just fuck you over at a bad time, as bb is want to do. jj apparently does precisely nothing in fnaf 2 after some quick research, so she also does nothing but pop out and idk be silly. and little miss unfortunate circumstances could maybe sing her lil song and like randomly lower one of the other "timers" a chunk.
ok so punchout is one of those probably few wii games that avoided mandatory pointer/motion stuff but i cannot think of a better way to implement this one idea so: there would be a decent bit of downtime between attacks where you're not able to hit fred but he aint attacking you and this would be when you're supposed to flick the wiimote into pointing at the background, specifically a wheres waldo ass thing about "staring" at foxy for a brief moment to keep them at bay (relatively simple as its a large fox robot in a sea of faceless grey silhouettes), and if you dont for long enough they do the funny skedaddle into a big ol uppercut or whatever, which would just instatly ko you. altho it would have a big ol tell of fred stepping aside for a second and the loud stomping naturally, so you could just skip this and play as normal, simply dodging or perhaps punching back, which would do damage to fred cause you earned that if so. (im thinking you'd just be knocking foxy back into him)
the music box side is relatively simple, over the course of the match it visibly unwinds and you have to hit it to keep it wound up or suddenly marionette headbutt. probably 3 punches would keep it fully wound. the box's music would be like wound into the fight song but then slowly quiet down as its winding off, and eventually the lil jack in the box "last seconds!!!" thing would play too, and that would "force" him to do some attack if hes in neutral. you better get that stun real quick tho lmao.
power: thats a very core emchanic in fnaf, and i have 2 ideas for how it could be mixed in here, a: it be tied to that heart energy number of mac's that makes you tired when it hits zero and cant punch no more, however this feels kinda bs and like just not balanced, like punch out is not the type of game to have a kick u while ur down mechanic u feel me b, a much better idea in my book: the stage/ring has power. for this to make sense it would be taking place in more of like a garage or smth, crowd could still be there but like its less of an official thing. this would actually incentivise ending the fight quickly more than just for cool points. it would nt like charge back between rounds, and for actual numbers, lets say like 5 minutes 30 "seconds "of total power. thats a bit over half of the total possible roundtime and feels decently accurate to the like "win before this or you Perish" angle. running out of power would, first of all, turn off the lights ofc. at this point its dark and shit, you can only see glowy eyes and the power bar, rest is just a shadowy figure. punches of all sorts are faster, foxy is agitated quicker, music box timer is shorter, and just all around not very good to be here.
idk fully abt this idea but also maybe a star punch could just wind back all timers regardless of where they are including foxy (except the power ofc), and the t3 just fully resets em. if you hit it, of course
thats abt all i can think of that would fit without it being too overwhelming.
also fun fact your actual blog "website" has an ask box text limit that is barely over one paragraph
im so sorry for taking so long to respond to this but OUGH this is so clever. first off the inclusion of the wiimote pointer mechanics into the wheres-waldo foxy quicktime event is SO clever. i love that. also the power. thats so tense. i'd love to see all of the youtubers doing challenges specifically based on beating ol' fred only during the power outage as well

alright *cracks my fingers* its time to talk about uno T6
i was genuinely happy with how uno event story and just general phrases were made, so i was super excited to read his T6, i had previously took a look at a machine translation of the kr server but now that its on global i had to unlock it myself, lmao
i re-read this like 4 times already and im still. heavily uncomfortable with how this was handled.
so, heres the thing: Uno, at least on a very superficial point of view, was greatly handled. he's calm and he's trying his best to keep on track of what he wants to tell Sieghart. but its genuinely hard for him, he's in complete despair and needs his blood asap, he doesn't want to die, he doesn't want to disappear, and he still. tries to resonate. he still wants to explain himself and make someone understand that he's not a bad guy, he was just born with chronical conditions he have no control over.
its pretty obvious we're not getting an "official diagnosis" of Uno, but its also pretty obvious he's meant to be schizophrenic. which, i mean, im the perfect person to talk about it lmao. the word salad, the panic, the urge to be seem as "normal", the urge to spill out everything youre feeling in a vomit of words feeling the urge to overly-explain every step youre talking just so youre not seem as crazy. it resonates with me, a bit too much. it even hurts a little, lol.
so. i know Sieghart is this cocky annoying grandpa/uncle that makes everything be a joke, and yk, i like this type of character. what bothers me is that kog made him a blatant racist, and this is seem as a joke, and this gets WAY worse on his T version. i know its just a game and its not that deep but. why is Sieg T walking side by side with eugenics thoughts. why is he doing ethinical genocide with highlanders. thats so. weird.
anyway. the way Sieg talks with Uno was so. painful. its probably just a me thing but i was genuinely triggered reading all of that, and re-reading it just made me feel that even more. sure, its COMPLETELY understandable to not want a random man you met 5 secs ago traumadumping about his life infront of you, especially when youre mad asf (because you couldnt...kill people? i suppose?), but. why would you see this person, clearly mentally unstable, clearly not acting like someone his "age" would, and you'd call him dumb, weird, a monster, a bloodthirst creature and someone who you will kill just because of that. you know you could've just avoided him, pretended you didnt heard shit, just said "sorry this happened but idgaf man" or ANYTHING else. Uno literally told, with all words, he NEEDED Sieg or else he would DIE. and Sieg, instead of hearing the words, he just heard "lmaooo lets fight" and went for it. waoh man.
i totally know Sieg didnt knew Uno was 3 years old (or maybe even younger, considering we dont have confirmation of the timeskip. he could've been born a few months ago) and he didnt needed to know it to HANDLE THIS PROPERLY. yes, Uno attacked him first, completely fair to be mad lmao, not judging this part. but after he calmed down and started POURING HIS ENTIRE LIFE STORY OUT TO YOU, after you literally heard him saying that he considered suicide because he couldn't handle this chronic pain he've been feeling, you just stare down at him and call him a monster? and say you will be the reason of his death?
Uno didn't "not explained it well", he explained everything perfectly. it was a completely unecessary exposure, but, again. he was. completely in panic, he was in shock, he felt his body was giving up on him and he could die at any second. he SAID that. ill go on points, otherwise i might just. salad word this lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"My time is over. If i don't drink your blood...!"
one of the first things he said to Sieghart, he literally said "i need your help so i can live". hearing this probably is scary, but. lets be for real. Sieghart is +600 yo, seeing a malnourished weird guy telling you this should be normal at this point. you could say that he just interpreted it wrongly, but he was literally on a rampage to kill highlanders, the minimun he could do is to understand phrases properly lmao. Uno didn't said "i need to kill you", he just said "i need your blood", which, wouldn't kill him. weird request? completely, ngl. still, not a death threat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Who am...? Oh, I'm sorry. That wasn't very educated on my part. I'm Uno, and as you can see, i'm a highlander just like you."
this happens after Sieg completely ignores his speech and asks again who he is. this hits home, as saying youre sorry and aknowledging your mistakes its VERY hard, not to say impossible, specially when youre in some type of psychotic breakdown, so just seeing him trying to keep on tracks and explain better rather than just jumping to fighting Sieg is pretty neat.
(as a personal unecessary example, ive told a dear person on my life they should kill themself, because their presence was bothering me during an episode. i refused to understand i was wrong even hours after i "regained conscience" [for the lack of better term] because it made sense on my mind that should've been said and my reaction was understandable, and still being completely honest, i get why this is upsetting but i still dont think i had the obligation to apologize because of it.)
Tumblr media
"But your smell...it's a mix of every type of blood"
this is not Uno speaking (no shit sherlock), but im adding this to the batch just because. this caught me a bit off guard. maybe its just a translation thing and the original speech its not like that, but. hm.
i know Uno's birth is not a common thing to happen, but for someone to say his blood its a mix of EVERYTHING, and not just something along the lines of "a bunch of highlanders blood mixed" kinda. implies that Uno is not an actual full highlander. not in a corrupted way, but in a...he might be something else. a void creature? a demon? mayhaps both? neither? he wasn't meant to be alive, after all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The smell...of [my] blood? NO!!! I am... Do you really think I drink blood for pleasure?!"
here's where the traumadump session starts. here's when it clicked, when he got the trigger he needed pulled. Sieg is not an ally, and he will never be. he doesn't want to help Uno to live, he is that terrible monster everyone told him he was.
and here's where he starts to breakdown completely. he was panicking at first, but now he's full on psychotic. he NEEDS everyone to understand he's not a monster, he NEEDS to tell everyone that he doesn't like being this, he NEEDS to be aknowledged as a normal person, just like anyone else. he isn't what the voices on his head tell him, he isn't his involuntary urges. he is a kid. he is a neglected kid who needs assistance. he just wants to live normally.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Not exactly. I'm not here to fight for those false highlanders. But I still need your blood..."
"So, you need my blood? And you still try to say you're not a vampire."
i skipped a few dialogues which were along the lines of sieg saying he was pissed off and uno was helping he get even more mad, and uno saying he's aware but sieg wont be his predator but his prey, and then sieg asks if he's "the one the highlanders prepared just for him"
what we get here is, again, Uno trying to make Sieg see he DOES NOT want to fight, he just needs blood, his life DEPENDS on this. he WILL DIE if this doesn't happen, and Sieg just calls him a monster. we are not very far from reading uno being called a retarded are we. sigh
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You have no idea of my despair. Of the agony I feel every single day. I considered giving up, but... When you appeared infront of me that day... WHAT DID YOU EXPECTED ME TO DO???"
aaaaand hes broken. hes having a hard time differenciating realities (or universes, lmao), he's desesperatedly trying to justify himself and at the same time he's desesperatedly trying to keep himself intact, trying to not breakdown and go on a rampage. he knows this will never happens, but he still wants this to be peaceful. he literally just wishes to live, but he knows he's doomed to kill, or forever be in a chronic pain and chronic poor mental state if he doesn't kill Sieghart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Of course you wouldn't remember. You're from this world. That's kinda bothersome, but... Who cares? I heard you're a Highlander Killer here."
this happens after Uno attacks Sieg, and he asks "what are you talking about? did you even got the right guy?"
probably, after the attack, Uno got his mind straight for a split second and noticed what he was doing, that Sieg wouldn't understand his feelings, as he wasn't forced to go to a different world and put his life at risk, as he wasn't forced into leadering a cult full of older people who praised him simply for breathing. but then, he's just back to his painful psychosis, the voices on his head and the urge to not disappear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I wish for your blood... And you wish to end my life simply because I'm a highlander. Now that we met, nothing fairer than fighting, right?"
this kinda broke me. Uno will probably never forget the words Sieg said to him, even if he kills him and lives afterward, this will haunt his brain. he's a menance just by living, he's a disgusting creature for a birth he never wanted to happen. what he's supposed to do in this situation other than fight and either die and finally be free from the disgrace that is this world, or to kill him and turn into something unknown and scary?
Uno and we, the spectators, don't know what will happen if he finally gets Sieg's blood, we don't know what will happen to him. that is so terrifying. will he just stop feeling pain and having voices telling him bad stuff on his head? will he transtorm into a monster and becomes 3x worse? will his body not be able to handle "real highlander blood" and stop working, resulting on a meaninless death?
Uno can't have time to think about that. his impulsive actions put him infront of Sieghart, and he does NOT want to hear about Uno's thoughts and pleads. he needs to act.
Tumblr media
"I think it's my fault, anyway. I shouldn't try to talk with monsters."
this. this is exactly what broke me. i stared at my screen deadpan for a few minutes, and this didn't left my head, i couldn't sleep because of this, to be completely honest.
after everything you heard, after everything you saw him do, your only thought is. to look at him and call him a monster? to say he can't explain things and that you will kill him? he literally started having a crisis infront of you, and you ignored every single word out of his mouth and insisted on saying he's nasty and shouldn't be alive.
again, this is most likely a me thing and just a personal trigger that no one else cares, but. as someone who tried suicide and heard EXTREMELY similar words at the age of 10, this. was triggering. and it's still triggering to type this out.
yes, i know this is Sieghart's personality, but i didn't expected THIS. he doesn't like other highlanders and wants to murder all of em, but the first time in OVER 600 YEARS one of them can overpower him and tries to use this to the advantage of HAVING A CONVERSATION instead of jumping into fighting, instead of seeing this as a sign he MIGHT be A BIT WRONG about his judgment he just. uses this as an excuse to be even meaner. even worse. cmon bro you'll be throwing slurs in the next world or what. this kid literally just spilled his entire life story infront of you and instead of walking away, trying to hold a conversation, trying to calm him down or WHATEVER you just keep offending him and putting gasoline to this flame that DOESN'T WANT TO BE LIT but got TRIGGERED INTO DOING SO. its genuinely paintful to read.
anyway. thats it for today i suppose. thats surely. uhm. something!

"it took you 24 hours to form a response" no, i just dont use tumblr religiously like you do? Huh? Are you that incapable of having a normal argument with me that you then feel the need to belittle me over not responding sooner?
Like i said before i didn't provide with any links because i know you've seen the things i mentioned which was true because you knew about all of the examples i made.
Idc if you're a cleon fan or not i just wanted the supposed super fan of resident evil to just give me one concrete example of ANY other Leon ship that the devs spoke about that isn't aeon.
It feels like im going in circles with you where you're acting extremely smug but cant do the one thing i asked you to do while i named multiple examples.
And i did google about the ashley and leon thing but suprise suprise there was nothing, and there wont ever be anything. And you saying the devs were making fun of my ship isnt true at all, but ill be nice and say its a matter of opinion. But even if they were mocking it at least theyre still talking about their relationship, unlike with Ashley and Leon.
ah yes the classic "i have a life" excuse. that's my favorite comeback from people who have no actual excuse for their behavior but want to seem like they're superior in some way.
"stop going off of what other people tell you and do your own research" isn't smugness, lil gup. it's good life advice, not just for video games, but for everything.
i'll even help you out with your research.
try googling "resident evil 4 remake developer interview" instead of whatever you tried. and then just read through the interviews that come up. this will allow you to see how they actually talk about the games and what they've said in context, instead of surgical slices of one or two sentences that fit a narrative.
because i can surgically slice stuff for you to push an agenda, if you want. i'm more than happy to just send you an out of context quote like:
"We've put a particular emphasis on the interactions between characters, as we'd like to show even more about the game's human relationships than the original does. For example, take Ashley, someone the main character Leon rescues. We want to show how both of them feel, rather than making her story just be about getting rescued and escaping."
and even though that's true, and hirabayashi did say that, it loses out on all of the other context surrounding that quote.
because the very next line of that statement is:
"Of course, these aren't feelings of love, and they're expressed in a tense way appropriate for a survival horror title."
but that is also missing context, and it is emblematic of why i keep telling people to stop listening to what other people tell them and go ask someone who is fluent in JP and english to look at what was actually said in JP, because JP is a very contextual language and a word or a phrase can mean multiple different things, and people speak very carefully.
what hirabayashi actually said is:
たとえば主人公のレオンと救出対象であるアシュリーも、ただ「助けて逃げ出した」だけではなく、互いの感情をしっかり描きたいわけですね。とはいえその感情はラブではなく、あくまでサバイバルホラーとしての緊張感を表現する形になります。
if we were to translate what he said directly, word for word, it would say:
For example, protagonist of Leon and rescued to be Ashley also merely helped and escaped only just each other of emotions clearly to depict. However, that feeling love not purely survival horror in the role of tension to express.
this is gibberish because JP sentence structure doesn't work the same way as ENG sentence structure. if you were to clean it up and use as close to his exact verbiage as possible, you would write it as:
For example, Leon was the protagonist who merely helped Ashley to escape, but we wanted to depict the emotions between them more clearly. However, these feelings are not love but are purely the kind of tension you see expressed in survival horror.
which is pretty close to what IGN actually published.
but JP to ENG words are not always a 1:1 direct translation, and, like i said before, words in JP can have multiple meanings and interpretations. you also have to take into consideration the cultural context of a japanese audience. and looking through that lens, what's actually happening here is that he's basically using PR speak to dangle the idea of sexual tension in front of the audience without using those words because then it seems too "explicit" for a JP audience, while at the same time trying to assure dudebros that they're not playing some dumb romance game for girls.
with all in this in mind, if i were to localize what he said, based on the actual characters that were written, i would write it as:
We really wanted to emphasize the human relationships in the game more than the original did. For example, in the original, Leon was the hero who viewed Ashley as his mission objective that he had to rescue. We wanted to show that he needed to escape, too, and depict the emotions between them more clearly. That being said, this isn't a traditional love story, but there are heightened emotions and a sense of charged tension between them that occur naturally in the context of survival horror.
WHICH IS VERY FUCKING DIFFERENT from what the dry, mechanical 1:1 translation that IGN provided said.
this is why arguing about dev statements is Abjectly Stupid, and you're dumb for pursuing this, and it's why i'm batting you around like a mouse instead of engaging with you on whatever level you think you deserve.
if you want to actually fight with someone who makes it their goal to know what they're talking about before they start talking, maybe engage with me on the merits of what the games actually do/say/depict, and not some surgically sliced dev statements.
because dev statements don't actually really matter, and it's all just marketing in the end.

ok so i saw 1 (one) shitpost and now thia idea will not leave my head so ima gonna scream abt it: freddyfive night punch out
(to be clear im basing most my fnaf game knowledge on ucn and my punchout knowledge on wii, cause like those are the only ones ive played)

JAY I LOVE THIS SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA
having to ‘manage’ a bunch of lil parts on freddy like the music box and the various Foul Helium Children is SUCH a fun idea and in adore it immensely
AND HAVING TO QUICKLY FIND FOXY IN THE CROWD BEFORE HE JUST. FUCKING BOOKS IT TO THE STAGE AND UPPERCUTS MAC IS MAYBE THE FUNNIEST THING IVE READ IN A WHILE. LIKE!!!! OH NO DONT LET THE ROBOT FOX CATCH YOUR ASS LACKING MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CJSNSHHSHSHXXG
and the whole power mechanic playing into the actual stage… augh that’s SO cool I love it
someone call next level games, jay has banger ideas

@l-cereta
the gacha game is in fact totally skippable! if you’re interested in nosing around the story of it anyway though, you don’t even necessarily have to Play it: there are transcriptions https://apps.atlasacademy.io/db/NA/wars here! you’ll have to click around some to access them, but everything from the game is dumped to this site. (just make sure you’re in the NA tab instead of the JP tab, represented by the country flag on the bar at the top) This also means you’ll probably be scrolling past a lot of mechanical info that doesnt concern you in the process lol and if that bothers you you can probably find story compilations on youtube instead! (i have never tried this because i just play the game myself, so i dont have recommendations on who to check out) i really like atlas academy though its good stuff.
the number 1 high fidelity Way To Get Into fate is in fact to read fate/stay night! there’s no Official way to do this in english atm BUT type-moon has been on a consistent kick of translating their older (pre-fate) visual novels for overseas audiences so if you sit down and wait a few years fsn will probably be on your steam capable device / nintendo switch / playstation for like 60 real world american dollars. that said that’s a silly thing to recommend doing and im aware of this so HERE IS my friend lance’s post of links to read fsn in fan translated english right now! i used these links to read the VN myself so they do work!
the main difference between the original VN and the “realta nua” version is that realta nua is a remake that replaced explicit sex scenes with non-explicit (but sometimes still sexual!) equivalents. other than that essentially no changes were made to the game’s story so choose whichever based on your level of comfort! the fsn sex scenes are kind of infamous for being anywhere from Silly to Outright Bad To Read so realta nua is absolutely a valid choice to make here. if you do choose realta nua, the game’s routes will be separated out into different .exes: the intended reading order for the routes is fate route -> unlimited blade works -> heavens feel
i dont have the reading advice Memorized on most other fate entries but i do know a bit about one other: fate/extra! a remake called fate/extra record is in development and everyone’s excited about that because the story of the original fate/extra is very good but the gameplay is generally unpleasant to most. there’s also a fan translation of a different extraverse game, fate/extra ccc, which is nearing playable completion! i’ve been keeping myself unspoiled on ccc happenings in anticipation of this so i don’t actually 100% know how it relates back to extra in particular lol. and the bow on top of these two games is the anime fate/extra last encore! which is NOT a direct adaptation of extra, it’s a story that’s set in its world using its characters but tells a very different story. it’s not looked upon well by the fandom because i think a lot of people were expecting a straight up adaptation so they didn’t have to tell people to play extra anymore lol, but i personally love it to death and i think all that’s required for a satisfying watch is cursory knowledge of extra’s normal setting and circumstances/characters. if you spend a good few hours with the facts of fate extra (like via the wiki, perhaps) you will probably be ready for last encore. i did this by trying to play the original game myself (it was released officially in english for the psp, so no need to hunt down a translation, just a rom) + the passing familiarity with a lot of the game’s Servant characters i had from fgo. i did not get very far in the game though lol which is why i say cursory!
most fate anime adaptations are not too bad honestly, but even the best tend to be imperfect and leave out some of the punchier parts of the story. the only one i’ve heard described as unsalvageably bad is the one for fate/apocrypha though, so if you want to get into apocrypha i THINK the recommended solution for that one is the manga adaptation. there are a LOT of options for most fate works once you start looking so i think generally the best way to make sure you’re getting the best is to ask people whose tastes you trust instead of just going to your local search engine wild west lol.
ok apologies for asking this but what actually is fate?? i thought it was a gacha game like arknights but i just saw that one manga post... is it a manga?? why is oberon, husband of titania, there,
Tumblr media
OH BOY
SO, essentially, fate is one company (known as type-moon)'s long-running series that has since its inception expanded into several different mediums! it started out with fate/stay night, a visual novel which was released aaaall the way back in 2004. the base universe established in the visual novel has since been expanded on through several other games, several manga series, anime adaptations, light novels, etc, And yes the gacha game!
The gacha game is called fate/grand order! fgo for short. Oberon husband of titania is a major character (and fan favorite lol) from one of the game's recent* story chapters, lostbelt 6 avalon le fae!
*it's recent on the english-translated north american server of the game. NA fgo is about 2 years behind the original japanese server in terms of content releases, so for japanese players lostbelt 6 has been out for about 2 years already!

Hi, my mind has been wondering about how deltarune fandom mischaracterise spamton and make him completly another character for some reason
like i seen some people make his og form very tall, or completly get rid of his voice glitch (Which could be caused by not knowing how to write his glitch which is totally understandble tho), which are very small things to change but personally i think that still changing so obvious things about him is quite... Not in place, because there are just some aspects of characters that MAKE them their own characters, and taking it out of them is either "yeah i dont like that im going to change him So hes exacly to my likings now" or just making completly diffrent character
This also implies about how fanbase either treats him as
1. only joke character, that never intended to be anything else by that, which is very weird cause spamton plays quite important role in dr's lore
2. Too sad/scary character, spamton is totally intended to be goofy weirdo making every Player laugh, skipping it just to him being sad and obsessed about neo is Just not it!
3. Child some sort, where he cannot do a single thing himself and needs help, which is incredibly ableist, but i think this topic has been totally talked about already
Sorry for ramble/rant, but its quite common thing i noticed about deltarune fanbase and spamton, and wanted to know others opinion about it
Thank you for this ask! It’s a great one, and gives me a lot of room to talk, so it goes under a readmore. You do not need to apologize for your ask, feel free to ramble away anytime! I greatly appreciate it!
As usual I want to put in a disclaimer that ultimately, the only person that 100% knows Spamton is his creator, Toby Fox himself. All we as fans can do is interpret and speculate based on what evidence is given in the game, and as is fandom tradition, we can put in headcanons, alternate universes, and more to flesh out his character. All of this is perfectly fine and normal for fandom, however there comes a drawback in fandom, especially when we are met with a “tragic villain” type: woobification. The TVTropes link provided explains it well.
Let’s address your ask itself:
Making Spamton in his original form tall (in this case over 6′0″/182.88 cm, the average height for an adult cisgender man) appears to be a purely aesthetic, stylistic choice and is harmless. I do prefer him short (specifically 4′8″/142.24 cm), but there’s nothing problematic or offensive about changing his height. If you don’t like that, it can be safely ignored.
The voice glitch is another one...I think there’s nothing wrong with substituting the in-game text style for an easier-to-read format to make it accessible for screen readers and visually impaired people. As long as you can tell it’s Spamton, it’s fine. Here’s an example from my fic:
Original: “WH4T?” He set the spoon down, “S0METHING 0N MY [Hair Dryer]?”
You can see how that would be difficult for some people to read. If I so desired, I would probably change it this way:
Revised: “What?” He set the spoon down, voice warbling in-between glitches. “Something on my--” He stammered, ad-speech taking over his voice yet again, “H-hair dryer?”
It makes the sentence a little longer since I have to translate this text in a descriptive way so the reader understands which part is the bracketed one. Again, nothing wrong with substituting the text in a way that stays faithful to Spamton’s character.
It would only be an issue if the author actively chose not to use the bracketed text because they dislike it greatly, or they want to “cure” his speech impediment. The latter stems from a rather ableist trope of curing a disabled character’s disability and therefore erasing that representation.
As for being unsure how to write his voice, there are some posts on Tumblr, and there is his Wiki page that you can look through for reference. While you might never get it 100% perfect and neither will I, looking through these references can help a lot.
As you said, these are minor examples compared to some others, but they are just as valid as the more major issues with the fandomization of his character!
Now, on to your list:
Points 1 and 2 work well together, and could easily be combined. People need to understand while he is not purely a joke character (example, The Original Starwalker is a pure joke character. Sorry, fans, but he is), he is also not purely a tragic and scary character that the player must fear. He is meant to be funny, but he is also involved in a big part of the plot even as a “secret boss”. Some of the greatest villains in fiction are, indeed, those who manage to be both hilarious and terrifying.
(Yes, he is, per traditional definition, a villain. noun: villain; plural noun: villains 1. (in a film, novel, or play) a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot.)
People should not forget that a large chunk of his character is based around internet meme culture; KEYGEN is the most obvious (for those who do not know, it is a reference to a YouTube Poop, and it involves rapidly flashing lights which were much toned down on Spamton’s sprite), and Weirdmageddon has made the connection to internet personality Dril, whose tweets seem eerily similar to how Spamton speaks. Pipis is essentially kid-friendly Viagra.
However, in point 2 there’s a slight mistake, his obsession with NEO is crucial to his character arc and the overall story. While flanderization can happen, you can’t “skip” to him being simply obsessed with NEO, it’s a core of his character and cannot be avoided. It would actually be problematic if you ignored this point of his character (Exceptions being alternate universes and post-recovery situations).
As is true for many of Toby Fox’s other characters, he is multifaceted. He has nuance, and reducing him to one or two traits does Toby’s work a disservice. It is definitely difficult to balance out his character the way Toby manages to do, but it’s not impossible.
The best way to figure it out is to do research using canon material (fanon is extremely unreliable, even the best fanfiction, and my own humble one, gets a few things wrong), and practice some writing using his character, put him in specific situations and see how he would react according to canon characterization.
The infantilization point has been the most oft-discussed issue with how the fandom treats him, correct, and I’m always happy to discuss it. Not only is it ableist in treating him like a child who is unable to take care of himself (when he displays many symptoms of severe mental illness), it also ignores many other facets about his character, which is so explicitly adult (In the sense that this is a man who was at his peak in 1997 and speaks/behaves distinctly like an older man with severe mental illness, not at all like a child, or even young.)
However, there is a distinction to be made between this ableist infantilization of his character being helpless, and the very real possibility of being unable to take care of yourself due to mental illness. The latter is something that happens in real life, and people whose Activities of Daily Living are impaired deserve just as much respect and understanding as any other person.
Going by my experience in the fandom. I come to the understanding that some people do not address this disability/impaired ADL aspect and rather focus on making him act like a child and force him in situations that would only be appropriate for small children (See, the personally infamous rubber ducky scene from a fanfiction I will not name).
People who are mentally ill may act irrational in the perspective of non-mentally ill people, and from there comes the harmful stigma that they are equivalent to, or must be treated like, children or wild animals. Great care must be taken to avoid these stereotypes which I already see used so often on Spamton.
This does not include symbolic animal traits such as birds; the bird motif is symbolic of his want of freedom, for example. But while I can make an example for the animal side, I cannot make any example for the child side. There is absolutely nothing to his character that implies a childlike persona, not even his short height.
Spamton can be alluded to being like a bird without being treated like an animal, but in my opinion there is no excuse for infantilizing him.
While you apologized for your “ramble”, I started my own! This may be the longest I have written an answer, and I’m willing to discuss with other people over this, whether agreements, disagreements or additions. Let me know if there is anything you’re still confused on.

A series of events:
-One of my closest friend wants to bite the bullet and try up a3 knowing it is so important to me
-Thing is though that friend in question can't bear topics about theater, so he's really just doing it for me. (I did remind him we could drop anytime and that he didn't have to force himself, he just didnt listen)
-After one episode of the anime, he wants to drop it because nothing interested him
-The next day he tells me to watch another one, and go only by a pace of one a day
-Itaru makes his effect. Friend is now clearly watching for me and for Itaru.
-Yes friend made fun of me when i lost it when Chikage was on screen
-Friend made clear he had very little investment in the rest of spring and only cared for Itaru
-He started to feel emotionally hit by Itaru's storyline
-We listen to the a3 musics then. He's notoriously picky about music but ends up vibing with most of the songs, especially Autumn and Winter. He starts to be interested in Autumn.
-We go to Summer, still aiming one episode a day. Friend doesn't like any of the cast except Tenma he loved at first sight
-Tenma resonated with him and suddenly he insisted we binged all of summer in one day. It fucked him up.
-"I am not invested i can quit at anytime" - said a liar
-after Summer he asks to take a break before Autumn because he's scared of them. He didn't expect any of the characters to impact him but knew Autumn would be his type, and now that two characters he didnt expect ripped his heart out he's terrified of what it would mean for him
-He also asks that we resume to one episode a day
-I end up crying about Winter because im normal and i tease him that with the break and the pacing we wont reach him anytime soon, so i was safe
-Evilness oblige he decides that we're going to bing Autumn and Winter on the same fucking day
-Autumn didnt mess him up as much as he thought. At first. In the following days he becomes obsessed and starts to mostly talk about Autumn to me
-He gets bewildered by how little content Hisoka and Azuma had, saying "i thought when you said their arc were cut you were nippicking what the fuck was that"
-He guesses what were the themes of the plotlines by analysing the few we have and the knowledge they're my fav characters. He's 95% spot on. Now he cares winter because he sees me in every characters send help.
-I show him the game's content that was cut from the anime. He appreciates Winter but mostly because of what he can bully me with
-We had planned to stop there, so that he had a baseline to bully me.
-We didn't.
-He got invested in Azami suddenly and asked that we'd read his chapter together
-It messed him up and everything he thought should have hit with Autumn but didn't ended up hitting him a hundred times harder
-Friend gets overly invested. I send him Wandering Ghost. He loses his mind
-We discuss about the fact the song was not translated on yaycupcake
-The next day, as he's very good with Japanese, he decides to translate it and asks me to update his translation to yaycupcake
-he still refuses to acknowledge he's invested.
-Friend also starts to warm up to the cast members he wasnt found of.
-Friend has now asked me to show him Chikage and Guy. I insist that if we do, we read at least Winter 2nd and 3rd play and Spring 3rd.
-Friend complains because as he understands Japanese he's been mainly *listening* to a3 and have a hard time keeping up with the archive's full auto for the unvoiced events
-I bring up the events are voiced on the JPN server
-Friend decide to start playing it
-(i realize i lost my jpn account so i start one along with him)
-We sign in in time for the last 2 days of the spring 9th play event
-Friend decide to go ham
-Friend becomes obsessed with the event song
-Friend translates the song based on lyrics he found, has asked me to post it on yaycupcake (which i willdo when im back home), and is starting to work on a lyrics video for it.
-Friend still insists he's not involved. Despite the fact he regularly brings a3 up out of nowhere and had like 3 existential crisis provoked by characters.
-Friend is frustrated by all that is untranslated on the wiki and wants to help translate more regardless
-Friend is scared shitless about Chikage because i told him about him and he's terrified it's going to fuck him up (As expected from a Sandalphon lover.)
Tldr: i dragged someone into a3, he started out really disliking it, and now he's so worked up by what isnt translated and is working on things.
So there's that.

hello one and all to the submas soul eater au post courtesy of my silly brain. note it's midnight and uh. im a lil crazey but hopefully this vibes anyways :o)
Ingo and Emmet
Starting with the Stars of The Show,,
Say hello to twin weapons Ingo and Emmet!! Ta-daaaa
Ingo and Emmet can wield each other but Elesa is also their meister bc due to their weapon type they're more effective being used at the same time anyways
Ingo is a sword and Emmet is a curved dagger! (Ingo was formally a broadsword but I just looked it up and those are used w/ two hands. No thnx)
Both of their hilts are exactly the same, silver, with Arceus' symbol etched in the top and the symbols from their in-game hats etched into the base (the first-later explanation. The second-family insignia)
Ingo has a very stealthy fighting style; his weapon is Emmet, so he has to rely on short range attacks and trickery.
Emmet goes in guns blazing; his weapon is Ingo, so there's no real point in stealth.
Both have sheaths to hide the other in (a weapon is easier to hide than a human), and rely on a lot of trickery.
When they go into battle, they both wear calf length, grey jackets that are far too big. Ingo wears a black hat and Emmet wears a white one, but that's more for allies than anything else.
They also wear dress shoes, but they always wear dress shoes. (Elesa thinks they're crazy. They give half a shit.)
They also have earrings! Sort of.
Both wear a small gem as an earring; Ingo on his right, Emmet on his left, so they face each other when they stand next to each other.
This gem amplifies their weapon abilities. (Again, an explanation for,,,probably another post at this point this is getting long.)
And on their other ear, they wear an earring with a chain and a clamp that goes on the shell of their ear.
In their weapon form, this translates to a chain; for Emmet, it allows a more ranged attack where he's semi thrown, and for both of them, it's more a way to ensure they aren't dropped. (Like the strap on a Wii remote.)
(also don't ask me how this works it just sounds cool lmao)
Drayden got them a pair of them, probably. He's their uncle in this au cause I said so and it's a cool thought. Maybe Clay helped make them/mine the materials louder shrug I haven't figured out most of the other gym leaders yet tbth
Ingo has chips taken out of his blade, and it reflects on his body as a few deep scars on his right side.
More on this in Elesa's post ;)
uhhh. other thoughts umm
They learned they were weapons when, while Ingo was fending off bullies, Emmet transformed on instinct (to which the kids ran away because THAT'S A FUCKING DAGGER????)
Their parents, a weapon and meister duo, quickly supported sending them off to the DWMA (which is still called that cause it still makes sense)
Once they hit about 20, they start teaching there, as well!
They joint teach one class, teaching different subjects one or the other knows more about, but the base idea of the class is 'A class taught by twin weapons for weapon duos!', as weapon duos are relatively rare.
(When they were looking for one meister, 13 and fresh to the DWMA, it took them awhile.
Luckily, Elesa was actually looking for a weapon duo; she enjoyed the thought of fluidity in fighting.)
In normal everyday life, they wear the same thing they do in battle, but just. Less confusing coats
They're way too formal. At least, when they're at the school. (Who knows, maybe they dress like normal people outside of it...Elesa will never tell.) Dress pants, shirt, tie (red for Ingo and yellow for Emmet), the works. And yes, they still wear the dress shoes while teaching, don't ask why, they won't give you a real answer. (Elesa has stopped trying.) They wear their black-and-white hats, but their jackets reflect that, as well.
Though they're a little different. Ingo wears black, Emmet wears white, of course. They're more thigh length than calf length, and they can close, but unlike their battle jackets, which are meant to stay closed, it's more for winter weather than anything else. They're more close-cut, but still decently comfy and too-big.
Emmet's is absolutely covered in pins. This goes for his hat, too, though he's a little more conservative with them when it comes to that.
Ingo doesn't mind pins, but has far less than Emmet does.
Both wear identical pins on the front of their hats, though. They were gifts from Elesa when they first became her weapons, and they've gone through a good few hats and many, many years, but they're still holding up.
and uhhh. i think thats it for basics w/ the boys! elesa post coming soon i Promise (and then a general post w/ a section on team plasma and the mcs. or maybe ill chunk that one up well see)

i dont think this is going to fit in the tags so im just going to preemptively type up here hkjgh <3 TL;DR: how does it feel to be so correct about everything ever hjhgjk
I ALSO PULLED FROM THAT BLOG HGKJHG i always enjoyed how they broke down their analyses, also the way they described Mages of Breath as "balancing that delicate balance between walking and flight" hit the nail on the head for me hkjfh <33
i also dont like gendered classes, i think its just homestuck being a product of its time, there's a wide expanse of gender identity and limiting specific ways of "here's how i interact with my aspect" to certain genders is a very constrictive way of working with it hkjdh its a restriction i adamantly ignore, one of my old ocs is a lord of hope and my god she kicks ass hkjgh <3 ALSO TRUE WHAT IF ITS JUST TRANSLATION ERROR HKJGHDH
YES!! YEAH!!! i ALWAYS think about this, the whole point of sburb is general just character development while you create a new universe, it generates a personal hero's journey for each player down to your land and classpect, and homestuck subverts it in order to create a narrative, but in general, that's what sburb is about!! (HKJGH WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ULTIMATE SELVES THANK YOUUU <3) who do you want to grow into? how do you want to better yourself? thats so cool, reconciling who you were and how you've changed by going god tier wowowow… THE DEATH TAROT CARD!! REBIRTH AND CHANGE!!! it really is just character arc speedrun any%, huh? hkjhg
OH FOR REAL i was originally a Maid of Hope but FUCK I HATE DRESSES so i just gave myself really flowy pants hkjhg (now im a Mage of Breath so the pants are normal for me) god tiers outfits are made to be comfortable and fit who you've grown to become, they should be personalized to your specific tastes <33
I LOVE THE ASPECT WHEEL HKGJH i did a school essay about it once actually hkjhg how each aspect has a counter that thus reveals more about the counter aspect through knowing what it's not, aND ALSO YEAH, the way that both aspects come into play, princes and bards ghosting their aspect and acting more like their opposite aspect, and mages having to balance too much and too little of their aspect (<- is a mage hkjfh) i LOVEEEE aspects ruahgh <33
SYLPH OF HEART!!!! its always hard to classpect real people because we're always ever-changing, not like fictional characters, we're a lot more complicated and multi-faceted, BUT YET!! WE TRY!! :] i LOVE heart players, lots of good introspection into identity!! and im happy to read about sylphs, they're one of the classes i didn't focus on other than "oh yeah healing class!!" so its interesting to read your perspective on it!! :D <3 (BELIEVE ME THE AUDIENCE IS INTERESTED HKJHG <33) !!! that's such a fascinating take on the classpect, that it's more connections based!! :0 but also same, i love character dynamics and relationships, ALL OF THE BLORBOS SHOULD INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER HKJH <333
LOVELY ART!! we handshake on so many things but also 🤝 sona has a cool undercut B) <33 the bangles are so cute!! the pants puffing out and cinching at the ankle!! ough what a lovely design, full of whimsy <3
YES you'd be an excellent ally for a sburb game, a great support classpect!! healing the soul!! moral support hehe <33 I LOVE LANDS i love how they help facilitate your character arc quest through sburb... ough god theyre so interesting and they can tell a lot about the characters though maybe thats just my love of worldbuilding hjkhfkj ooh and maybe you'd have an underwater quest to symbolize going deep into introspection and finding calmness under the waves?? your land sounds so pretty <33
dude i LOVE monologues i love listening to classpect talk, its been so long since ive read up on it and mY GOD i love classpects so fucking much :] this is so cool HDKJH MY RESPONSE IS VERY LONG TOO this is just my way of showing people im listening hkjghg THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING!!!
HI <3 polite invitation to talk about your godtier and land thoughts for your characters if you want to!! i am sitting and listening intently :3 <3
Oh my god asfdgdgifgdb you don't know what you've done,,,,,
Long post incoming!!
So quick plug of an old blog that established a lot of my HS godtier opinions early on dahniwitchoflight so you can see a lot of where my context originates (esp. the godtier aspect masterpost) but with that out the way here we go
In terms of godtier opinions, I don't believe in gendered classes. I think that, socially, there may be a bias certain genders may have to certain classes (Muse and Lord, for example). But I don't believe that's an absolute. For one, there are more genders than the binary and people don't always identify as one forever. Secondly, I think to say that, for example, Lord is always aggressive and therefore only men can be Lords is uhhhhhhh,,, very stereotypical and simply doesn't encapsulate the range of human expression. Besides, isn't it more fun for the classes to be non-gendered using gendered human words? Who's to say the game mechanics of SBURB/sgrub are in english? There's gotta be some kind of translation errors or approximations going on in lore lmao
Related to this is that a godtier is meant to be a culmination of a character arc, the end reward of the 'ideal self' a character can be. This is not referring to 'ultimate' selves (i sincerely don't want to touch that concept at all) or even 'morally correct' selves - merely the best kind of self a character would want to be. The best you that you wanna be! Whether that means embracing your flaws or overcoming them, the godtier is the symbol of your growth as a person. Hence why to 'go godtier' you have to fuse your dreamself and awake self together, finally bringing together the two separate experiences you've lived as a player before this; your 'normal' life and your SBURB life. This also follows why death is a consistent theme and in fact needed for godtier ascension. You are killing or accepting the death of your former self in order to ascend into your new self, via combining everything you've learned into everything you'll be. It's supposed to be a positive, if traumatic, experience. Like changing and growing in life already is! Just faster lol
On a brief design point, I do think godtier outfits should also therefore change to fit the wearer and what they're comfortable with. I don't necessarily think that it should be like, witch skirt for girls but trousers for boys, I think that if a godtier outfit is your ideal self it should automatically change into whatever you'd be comfortable wearing. So if someone is a Witch, but doesn't mind wearing a skirt, then they'd ascend into the default Witch outfit. If they then wanted to change it they could through a thought. But if a Witch ascends and they hate skirts or maybe just cannot imagine wearing one then maybe it changes into shorts or something lol. I've actually done some alternate designs of godtiers along this line as it happens which you'll see in this post.
I also like the Aspect counterparts, that each one has an opposite, and while in canon that doesn't have much of an effect on the godtier design beyond the kids, I actually like the accessories and shoes on godtiers taking on the colours of their opposite Aspect. I like that it symbolises that even their opposite has an affect on the Aspect in question.
Now, this is all some lovely prose but what am I going on about? So, like all great and real scientists, I'll use myself as an example first.
...
Tumblr media
Me - Sylph of Heart
So I've gone through many, many iterations of godtier introspection (started in Hope, have moved to Heart, Sylph has stayed pretty consistent but I still have doubts) and, of course, being a real life person this is the one that's evolved and changed the most as I have evolved and changed throughout my teens and adult life. But for the sake of analysis, I'll give my 'sona' or 'self-insert' the godtier to separate myself from the analysis and come at this more honestly.
Heart as an Aspect is all about Emotion and the Soul. As the opposite counterpart to the Aspect Mind (which is concerned with the brain, reason and, y'know, the mind lol), Heart players are more impulsive and driven by personal goals. It's all about the Inner Self, the Individual, what makes You Unique as opposed to everyone else in the world. It's Passion, it's Empathy, it's Understanding - about people, mostly. It's about Knowing Yourself and what you like or dislike. Your Heart, in a lot of ways, is the emotional centre and Heart players follow it to a T - and often to the detriment of everything else. It's not inaccurate to say Heart players come across as self-obsessed b/c they are concerned with discovering themselves and their own identity. None of these things come without drawbacks of course and none of this means Heart players don't care about others. They simply assume everyone else is just as obsessed with Finding themselves as they are. I mean, at their best, Heart players are compassionate, imaginative and a steady presence in life. But, uh, at their worst they can come across as dismissive, rigid or nosy lol Personally, as someone very driven by emotion and with a tendancy for introspection, to the point of contantly overthinking my feelings and second guessing my impulses, I feel comfortable in the Heart Aspect.
So Sylphs are talkers. Chatterboxes you could say. They're also one of two 'healer' classes and the active counterpart to Maid. Which yeah I'm aware I have a tendency to ramble. Sylphs are known to love talking about their interests to an audience, whether the audience is interested or not lmao. For a Sylph of Heart, that's mostly concentrated into the subject of Love and Relationships. Sylphs are also nosy little meddlers and so one interpretation of Heart could be a cupid-like matchmaker of sorts. I don't personally see that for myself but it's a valid interpretation.
Personally, I see myself as a person obsessed with Connection and the Relationships that make these connections stable. Friendship, romantic, QPR, you name it, I'm interested in the dynamics. In fiction and in fandom, this makes me a prolific shipper yes haha but most of all I love character interactions. I love filler episodes! And beach episodes! And regency romance! And slice of life isekai anime! B/c all those things prioritise character interaction and personal character arcs over plot or action or whatever haha. I love gentle drama and harmless gossip, I love watching two people get to know each other and be forever changed for having met one another and! I!! Love!!! My!!!! Friends!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Also the sylph outfit is cool af actually. In this image I've actually redesigned it to be a little more gender neutral hence the billowing trousers but I love the no sleeves and the curled shoes and the ribbon-y capelet thing lol. And the bangles!!
I have some ideas for godtier powers but they're not fleshed out yet, but for Sylph of Heart I imagine they'd have to power to 'heal the soul/heart' so to speak. To keep emotions steady in the heat of battle and to help heal mental or emotional wounds. They sound like a support class, like a buffer or healer.
Oh god this got long, I have some ideas for lands but I'll be honest it's almost entirely based on this post from dahni years ago (literally 10 years ago oh gods how long have I been here) b/c i really vibe with it so I have nothing new to really add lol. Maybe there'd be like pink lakes or maybe i'd have a coastal type planet with rough seas that symbolise riding the waves of emotion or something lmao
Hope you enjoyed this brief foray! I'll probably reblog this with a breakdown of the godtiers I've assigned to 4 of my dnd characters I did for fun so you can see my opinions on the Space, Time, Mind and Heart (again) aspects as well as the Maid, Page, Mage and Knight classes too. But for now I need to cook dinner lol
