I mean, it is possible to not be shitty to ppl over what fictional character they romanced in a video game.

I mean, unless, you need to flex how good of a decision YOU made in a video game bc of some insecurity or something.

Or you could do the way more fun and cool thing of enjoying everyone else's joy, even if it's not your fave ship or whatever. I promise I that seeing their joy instead of shitting on something that makes them happy is way cooler.

I'm a simultaneous believer in: 

All of fandom should read the source material. Know about this amazing book/comic only character. Know about this event/piece of lore. Because look how it changes our perception of this character. Look how it fleshes out the universe they inhabit. Look at how this multi issue arc answers so many fandom questions. Look at how these chapters provide a deep dive into a character's motivation. In a way no amount of posts or Wikipedia skim reads is going to get across. 

And 

You don't have to read the source material. No matter how similar, tv/film adaptations can be classed as their own separate canon. And if that's all you ever want to interact with, that's your right. Not everyone has time to devour a book/comic series or can afford it. And more than anything, you have a right to not have the story spoiled. Never feel pressured to read ahead, just so you're up to date with other parts of fandom. They had their chance to guess at how the plot would unfold. Make bad/ incorrect takes based on what they knew of a character's arc at the time. So do you.

I'd always highly recommend you read the source material, if you can. But NEVER allow fandom to pressure you into it. You have every right to enjoy this thing you love the way you want to.

the secret key to writing in character dick grayson is that dick does not get enjoyment out of relaxing or doing fun things. its a hard mindset to understand because it's the opposite of what you or i as fandom people experience, but Dick is never shown to do things for fun. if he's watching a movie or playing a game, it's almost always to spend time with other people, not because that's his impulse (and lowkey he sometimes ruins it for other people by never being able to turn off his brain)

now, this is not to say that he's unhappy, or that he doesn't experience happiness in his day to day. but he doesnt get that from the things that we, as comic book readers and fanfiction writers, get enjoyment from.

Dick is the definition of a workaholic. His only enjoyment comes from a job well done, helping people, and sometimes adrenaline (as his only real canon hobby is...skydiving)

One day, Gjör and her peers were lead by their mentor Opheria, to a mission far from their home. On the peak of that mountain village, they saw upon the horizon, the castle of their home go up in flames. Horrified and scared, the apprentices sought to follow their mentors guidance, and followed her lead into a small barn. It was there, that Opheria proceeded to slaughter each and everyone of the apprentices. It seemed she somehow had a hand in this sudden attack on the Order of Palms. Gjör D'annevual survived a sword through the 'heart', on account of a rare condition, that places her heart on the other side of her chest. When she finally managed to bring herself back home, the Order was insulted by her survival. She had so many better peers, why couldn't any of them have survived? This runt was seriously the only thing that survived Opherias wrath? It was better to just wash their hands clean of this. Thus the Order decided to banish Gjör from their ranks. She now travels the land in search of a purpose.
