just a phone call away
“It just feels like one of those times that school would tell you to go to a trusted adult. And, like, I don’t really want to go to Bobby or Aunt Maddie about this, and honestly Uncle Chim seems like he’d be kind of bad at giving advice, so –“ “I meant Buck,” Hen cuts in. “You know him best, don’t you? Why wouldn’t you go to Buck?” There’s a very long pause. “Well, like I said, I kind of want someone outside my immediate family for this.” Or: Hen gets an unexpected phone call.
my second 8x12 fic! a version of this has been in my head for a while, and this episode was the perfect excuse to dig in and finish it. this is a little different to what i've been working on lately, which was a lot of fun!
featuring some heavily implied buddie, and some of christopher's view of eddie in texas.

Part 2
I wasn't expected to write more, but it was popular and I had idea for more of this fic
Buck decides a big breakfast, before they will leave the station for B-shift, with all A-shift, Eddie, Maddie, Athena and Karen is the best way to approach everything. He texts everyone, who doesn’t work with him the offer, to come to try his new recipe he found and perfected and they agree.
He also asks Tommy to come. He needs the support that the man was giving him during the period that Buck was studying and stressing about how to go about his leaving over the months. His boyfriend was his rock, and he needs it now as never.
It would be hard to leave 118 to never be back again. No matter that he knows it’s for the best, it was his home for eight years. He learned to be a good firefighter here. He found his friends and family here.
The station was his only constant for years. When everything was leaving him, it stayed. Even after the truck accident and lawsuit. He was back here.
Two years ago he didn't think he should leave. Now he knows if he won’t do it now, he never will. And it’s not what he needs. Leaving it’s like spreading his wings and flying from a parents’ nest.
Not his nest. That he will build eventually.
The silent station when everyone is still napping in the bank room seems so peaceful, as if no one is here at all. He looks around it saying goodbye.
He’s done with the main course, just needs to end the sauce, when Bobby comes to the kitchen.
“Need a hand?”
“WIth a salad,” Buck nods. “R-Ravi loves his fruits for breakfast.”
Bobby smiles and sits to chop.
Buck turns to check on the sauce, and one more time to look into the oven.
“I’m proud of you,” Bobby says the moment silence between them sets, shaking him a little in shock. Buck stops still sitting near the open oven. Blinking. He’s not going to lie, he wasn't expecting it.
Yet Bobby is not done.
“I was looking at you those two weeks and …,” Bobby sighs, “I guess I’ve never before thought about how much you changed over the years. Not about everything.”
Buck turns to the man and sees his kind smile. But the eyes are too sad to go with it.
“I-I changed a lot in the last eight years. A-a lot of t-things happened to me and with me,” he shrugs. “I even died.”
“Yes,” Bobby nods, “and because of everything you went though, because I know you, I believe you’re going to be an incredible Lieutenant and then captain.Your new team would be really lucky. I know you will succeed out there,” Bobby smiles and puts the last fruits in the bowl, coming closer to him. “Can I hug you?”
Buck nods sniffing.
The hug is warm and everything he dreamed about when he was a child not knowing why his dad won’t hug him. Not even once.
“You’re still a family, Buck,” Bobby ends the hug, but still holds his hand on his shoulder. He bites his lip, preparing himself for something. Buck doesn’t like it. “I will understand if you will be angry, but I told Atnena. I needed to talk to someone and actually talking with her showed me that I should let you go. And support you.”
“That’s ok, Bobby. I understand.”
And Buck does. If the situation were reversed, Buck would need to talk to Tommy to get over his reaction and listen where he can be wrong. Sometimes you just need your partner to kiss you, but also call you an idiot in the strict, but gentle way.
Bobby exhales, and pats him on the shoulder one more time, “C’mon, I help you serve everything. All hungry firefighters will come out soon.”
They work in tandem, and Buck lets the man interest him with the talk about best pans for meat stew.
When they are done, the tables basically break under the weight of the food.
“Wow,” Chimney’s voice carries over the loft and in a minute the loft is full of sleepy firefighters. “Bobby, Buck, are you spoiling us? Just so you know I’m a married man,” then he smells the pancakes and adds, “thought I think Maddie would forgive me once.”
“I’m not spoiling you,” Buck says, slapping his hand, when Chim tries to steal the mango from the fruit salad, “118 eats together. And we wait for special guests.”
“Special guest?” Hen asks just when Tommy’s and Karen’s laugh, with Mara’s and Jee’s giggles and Danny’s voice coming from the first floor. Buck’s pretty sure he can hear the sounds from crutches.
And yes, everyone he needed to be there today comes into the loft running to their loved ones.
While everyone says hello to Eddie, Buck hugs his boyfriend, kissing him.
Tommy gently moves their lips for a second, before ending it and touching his forehead with his, “are you ready, baby?”
“As much as I can.”
“Can’t wait to try the stuff you’ve made, Buck,” Chim says. “I believe it’s really good as you wanted to make it impromptu get together.”
Everyone laughs, and Buck too, “I hope so.”
Everyone eats, but Buck can barely stomach anything, all that keeps him present is Tommy’s hand on his knee. It gives him strength. Just as Bobby’s slight nod when he sees that everyone is mostly done.
He coughs and gets up, “I-I have an announcement to make.”
“Are you two getting married?” Ravi exclaims, and Tommy chokes on his coffee. “Lucy owes me sooo much money!”
“No, Ravi!” Buck’s is quick to stop the excitement before everyone starts to plan his and Tommy’s wedding. “It’s too early for it.”
“One day though. Definitely, ” Tommy says with a soft look in his eyes and Buck nods with his heart missing a beat.
That’s real. Tommy wants everything with him too.
“You're so sweet,” Maddie says, and then looks at Daniela in Chim’s arms, “isn’t that really sweet, baby?” then turns to Jee, “what do you think Jee?”
“Uncles Buck and Tommy are really sweet,” Jee nods with her mouth dirty from the chocolate.
Everyone laughs and Buck feels lighter.
“Thanks,” he bites his lips. “But i-it’s not it.”
He takes a deep breath and exhales, “I’m leaving the 118. I-it was my last shift. In two months I’m going to be at another station. W-with 99 % possibility as lieutenant.”
Silence is all he hears. For a long moment.
Then Ravi runs to him with hugs, “Congrat, man! I’m sure you’d ace the test! And the next station is lucky to have you.”
Buck thanks Ravi with a warm feeling. He knows he wasn’t the best to him when Ravi first joined, but the probie grew on him and they were a really good duo since Eddie left.
Everyone who is not so close to him one by one comes and says their good words and wishes him luck and he thanks them all and wishes all the best back.
Eventually they all leave to change into their civies. It’s only him and his family.
He sits back and Tommy immediately hugs his shoulders.
“It’s new,” Chim says with a still shocked face.
“N-not for me, no. I-I was thinking about it for a while. Six months ago I registered for the test.”
“But why leave?” Eddie asks.
“First, I didn’t want Ravi to be kicked from the station because Bobby would take you back,” Eddie seems to want to say something, but Buck continues, “t-the station is full. Till I’m not leaving there’s no place for you. And another thing,” Buck turns to Hen, who in a second seems to understand, “If I stayed I’d be the second in command. And eventually the Captain. And I-I’m not taking it from Hen. She worked harder than any one of us.”
Hen and Karen smile at him and Buck just smiles back.
“But also, this place is n-not for me anymore,” Buck says with a shrug. “I overgrown it. I need a new place.”
“You think the new station would be, what, easier?” Eddie asks.
“No,” Buck shakes his head, “but they won’t look at me and see the 26 year old himbo playboy who stole the fire truck to have sex. Or the one that was cock measuring with him. I-I would be me, who I am right now. The man I became over the years. Who I grew to be.”
That starts the mess of voices. Tommy hugs him tighter.

911 Season 8b predictions and wishes
now that filming is started and we're going to get some very minimal bts and clues to where the season is going to go, I thought I'd share my predictions now. I do want to specify that my predictions are different than my wishes, which are less likely to happen but still probable, but I still would love it if they do. This is all just fun speculation.
Predictions:
Ravi is confirmed to be back (yay), but the reason that he is back is he is filling in for Eddie while he's in Texas. Then he will go back to the kinda rotating role he had in previous seasons where he just filled in for anyone not working that day.
Eddie is going to spend an extended period of time in El Paso and take a leave of absence from the 118, but has plans to come back
Before actually selling his house in LA, something happens where he realizes that there are too many memories in the house and too much of a life here, and he doesn't want to give it up. He will realize that moving to LA wasn't just good for himself, but for Chris too, and that LA can still be their home.
Towards the second half of 8b, we're going to get an episode called El Paso, like Boston in s5
Chris comes home
Buck is going to have a few hookups trying to figure himself out, but it just freaks him out more. This leads to him talking to someone and understanding his sexuality more
Maddie will have some sort of complication in her pregnancy, but it's treatable and the baby is ok (this is me manifesting that the baby will be ok)
We're going to see more of the Wilson family. Hen and Karen are going to have a discussion about whether or not they want to keep fostering, or if this is it for them.
Bobby and Athena will have at least three disagreements over their new house
The season finale episodes (the last two) will include an NDE of one of the characters, my thoughts are probably Buck
Either Buck or Eddie has a feelings realization, but it will be toward the end of the last episode and will be one of the cliffhangers between seasons
Wishes
Buck has a conversation with Hen about his sexuality, and what that means for him
The kidnapper doesn't take Maddie, or just solely Maddie, they take someone else
Chim gets a new storyline
Hen gets a new storyline
Eddie yells at his parents
We see more of the call center, specifically bringing back Sue and Linda
Mention of the bees (cause why not)
May and Harry cameo
Eddie starts to question his sexuality, but it'll primarily be a season 9 plot

Yes to your points— but BOY am I holding out hope that 9-1-1 Lone Star navigates with good writing because things always change with that show. And with the rewatch of season 4 still going, here’s my headcanons for both shows (one for the mother show, one for Lone Star).
Instead of a full-on crossover episode, maybe there will be hints that the shows still share a timeline and universe. Mayhaps that drug cartel Bobby, Amir and Athena ran afoul of was also a cartel group (or knows of another rival group) that Gabriel Reyes has/ had history with. And/ or, if the Diazes make cameos in Austin during one of the 126’s emergencies.
Anyway, my headcanons are only a few sentences long, but for 9-1-1:
The Wilson-Buckley-Hans will def need to play their cards smart and/ or lay low around Bitchy Councilwoman Ortiz with getting an adoption status renewed. Hen may or may not have a group session with the characters/ families of characters she’d saved (much like Maddie did) and they team up to bolster the Wilsons’ adoption appeal to Ortiz and CPS.
Gerrard either goes out pathetically or “heroically” (like, a “morally right” rescue for the wrong reason) saving an MC’s life (Buck, Bobby, Tommy, Chimney or Hen). Like, he tells them something like “Hasta la vista you plebes, oh and btw you’re welcome” but their bad opinion of him doesn’t change.
Ravi FINALLY gets a “begins” episode or at least a bit more character exploration.
Every MC affected by the events of season 7 get moments with Frank because they are in dire need of real emotional help for their re-triggered traumas (Bobby, Eddie, I’m looking at you two) outside of each other.
Tommy (Kinard) and Buck have many heart-to-hearts before they decide on getting married or anything. (Because it’s very possible the writers will make this a speed run of Tarlos’ story arc.)
For Lone Star:
Regarding why Grace is absent, which is the main one I’m holding out hope for: it’d be devastating if she’d died, OOC if she and Judd divorced/ broke up. Considering that Grace’s father has bad cardiac health (which, spoiler alert, he has had 2 in-universe with #2 in “Open” being the most recent and critical), we would hear that him having another one would definitely kill him. So when Grace hears that her father just went through heart attack #3 or another health condition that worsens his heart enough that that he gets only weeks left to live, she would be gutted about leaving Judd to care for Wyatt and Charlie alone. But Judd, even with his misgivings— hell, he’d rather carry the weight all by himself than keep his wife from her family while they’re suffering through losing their patriarch. So, he lets her take the leave, probably with “Grace— no matter how tired I’ll get, how much I’mma miss you, don’t you ever blame yourself for needing to be with your mama and sisters. Keep me posted on your daddy and them, take all the time you need— we’ll be here, my heart.” There you go. No breakup needed, and no need for Grace to be killed. And it leaves room for Sierra to come back on the show in the event that the show is greenlit for season 6 and she can get a better contract on the show with Fox.
If Enzo somehow put off Gwyn’s funeral for close on 2 years (minus the burial which already happened in season 3 I presume), and that coincides with Carlos having gotten closure, TK gets to have a private mourning service for both her and Robert. Or we get a flashback episode that features scenes with him as a troubled teen and how things were with him and Enzo (like, this is before/ during his drug use).
Judging by the bts bits, it looks like Carlos may stay in law enforcement and likely choose to transfer from APD to the Rangers. I think this has to be Carlos’ own decision, though, not just an honoring— that “killing parts of himself” quote already sounds foreboding even if there’s a chance it’s hyperbole. Most of what I have to say about Tarlos this season were things already voiced by tumblr friends, so there’s not much besides these two hcs about their arcs this coming season. I just PRAY they get a real reprieve!
Bro i am literally so excited for 911 season 8😭😭 i just wanna see how Buck and Tommy’s relationship will go, i wanna see how the 118 deals with Gerrard as their new captain, i wanna see how Bobby gets his spot back at the 118 as captain (cus we all know damn well Gerrard is NOT staying for long). I want to see what happens with Eddie and Chris and whatever they got going on, I just cannot WAIT!!! This fall needs to hurry up NOW.
I’m also excited to see 911 LS season 5 because Grace isn’t gonna be there, so i wonder how Judd is going to act throughout the season, especially with the baby, i want to see Carlos and TK’s marriage progress, and i want to see Carlos grow closer with his mom, following his dads death, and much more.
Apart from the 911 series, SWAT season 8 is also coming out this fall and i’m excited for that too. Chris, Street, and Luca all left, so i would like to see how the rest of the team deals with it. I’ve only gotten to season 5 so far, but I’ll be done before this fall, trust!😭
#911 season 8#911 lone star#911 lone star season 5#judd ryder#grace ryder#tk strand#carlos reyes#nancy gillian#tommy kinard#tommy vega#paul strickland#mateo chavez#marjan marwani#hen wilson#karen wilson#ravi panikkar#bobby nash#athena grant#i didnt think of what else could happen w/ the rest of the ls characters#but i have headcanons already being prepped

So, Eddie starts dating Ana, for some goddamn reason.
Christopher is not liking it one bit. Buck is not a fan of her too ever since the Skateboard incident™. Chris noticed it immediately. And it’s good, because finally some adult who’s not buying her sweet and nice bullshit attitude. Children are very perceptive and Chris is really smart for his age (his dad and Buck say so, not to mention Abuela, and they wouldn’t lie to him). He knew even when Ms Flores was just his English teacher that she only was nice to him because she set her eyes on his dad (eugh! Gross!).
Christopher was polite to her as his mom taught him and for some reason people automatically thought that Ana was his favorite teacher, but it was complete opposite actually. He once overheard her conversation with other teacher, back when she still worked there and when mom was alive, they talked (more like gossiped) about his mom. Something about her being irresponsible and not really a good mother (they are wrong!). Back then Chris told Buck about it because he didn’t want his parents to be upset, but he needed to vent to someone. Buck was furious. They never told Eddie about this though.
So when Eddie (excuse me, Edmundo) came up with the great idea to introduce Ana to Chris after just two pathetic dates, Buck knew it would end in disaster. But not like a loud one, oh no. Christopher is smart and beautiful child, and it happens that he’s extremely cunning. He’s pretty certain that he picked it up from Buck, god, Evan hopes Eddie will never figure it out, or he’ll be in trouble 😥
Christopher ropes Buck into his plans, because they are a team, and they need to get rid of her hypocritical ass and fast.
Buck: Chris, buddy, are you sure it’s a good idea? Why won’t you just talk with your dad? If you don’t like her, he will listen, he cares about your opinion. You know that, right?
Chris: Of course I know, but Buck! Dad needs to see for himself what kind of person she is, and if I tell him I don’t like her, he’ll just assume that I need some time to get to know her or that I don’t want him to date at all and won’t really understand. He’s stubborn like that. And a little oblivious 🙄
Buck: Where it’s coming from, buddy? 😂
Chris: That’s what Abuela and Carla say. They are wise.
Buck: Oh, they’re sure are 🤭
Chris: I want him to be happy, Buck, just not with her. She’s awful.
Buck: Yeah, I get it, sweetheart. I want him to be happy too.
Buck wasn’t sure about this, he’s adult here after all, so he let himself think about it for a few days. Then he bumps into Ana in a coffee shop on his way to work. She knew Buck, how could she not? He comes to parent-teacher meetings pretty frequently, as well as bake sales. She met him. She knew exactly who he is. Aaaaaaand she’s being rude. Extremely rude. Not only to him but to a poor barista (Wow, lady, you need to chill. Pouring your drink down the trash can right in front of everyone? Because it’s too hot? And she didn’t even pay for that!). Buck have known the kid ever since he just started at 118, he sometimes gives free muffins to the team.
Yeah, screw you, Ana. Chris is right. This is war.
So, Buck agrees, partly to supervise his chaotic child and partly because this lady is a real piece of work, alright, she deserves all the wrath of his Superman.
Thus, after the introduction at home begins the quiet nightmare for Ana. She never saw it coming.
Bonus:
Dad went on a date? I’m gonna ring three times before dinner even starts.
Chris: Dad, it’s emergency, where’s my 1000 piece lego set? No, it’s not under the bed, I totally checked there, yeah.
Wanna quietly watch the movie? Not gonna happen. Move your teacher ass, I’ll sit in the middle.
So this is your phone number?
Chris: Buck, give me your laptop! Let’s spread it to some telemarkets.
You want to feed us? With your stinky cooking? Yeah, not a chance.
Chris: Bucky, please, can you come over? I want your famous roast chicken.
Bonus (2):
During the whole shenanigans Eddie suspects somethings and rants about this to Hen (Ana who? 😒). He tried to talk with Buck at first but he was pretty sketchy about all this, and practically ran away to Bobby in the kitchen (yeah, Eddie is not allowed there and Buck knows it). Suspicious.
Besides he doesn’t seem to be particularly fond of Ana. He needs to find out why. Hen’s having an inkling at what is going on, and, Lord give me strength, Eddie is so oblivious, it’s hilarious. Yeah, this Ana thing is not gonna last, let him figure it out. She’s pretty sure Buck got his shit together a long time ago (particularly, maybe, probably on their first Christmas with Eddie), he just waits for Eddie to catch up.
If someone's interested in writing this, please tag me when you're done.

9-1-1 5x04 review
Watched the episode, and I am mad! 😡
it’s bad enough that the lazy writers had Maddie leaving because of suffering of ppd instead of showing that there is a different way.
But they have Chimney taking off with Jee-Yun to find her. Which means no Maddie or Chimney for quite a while. 😭
No uncle Buck moments🥺 - because it was important to the writers to burn that bridge, with one precise punch while having a tantrum, so there was no way Chimney would leave Jee with her uncle, or even her pseudo grandparents.
I feel robbed. And I miss Maddie!😩
Also the cheerleaders confusion, was heartbreaking, I was crying the entire time. - super depressing 😭😭
The light points of this episode for me were:
* The bonding moment between May and Harry, they both having crisis moments, Harry with the aftermath of being kidnapped - being mad - rightfully so - at his parents.
(I haven’t written a meta for the first 3 episodes, but I will say, that even though Athena was a victim here, the first thing I thought, screamed at the tv actually, as soon as that creep ran away was to warn her family. At no point did she tell them and that led to Michael not screening the guests at the house party (yes it was a party), but seriously at all times he should have known where his son was and I’m guessing after watching the news and nearly losing Athena to him, he should have recognized that there was a criminal in his house.)
And poor May, who had trouble to comprehend the large diva- personality that befell her.
Yes, Claudette may be a rock star, but she is a diva, I simply called her a bitch. I met and worked with people like her, Josh’s advice was terrible. The best way to deal with people like this is either to stroke their ego under the guise of learning or completely stay out of their way.
Considering May does not need her to become a dispatcher, since she already is one, staying out of Claudette’s way is the best course of action imo.
So yeah, eating ice cream and sharing how annoying current life progression is between the Grant siblings, was one my favorite moments. - I love that May managed to get Harry to open up, if even a little, when others could not - that’s a real older sister right there! :)
* Buddie moments: Yes there were more than one, I know that they didn’t get to work together but, the fact that Cassie asked about Michaela instead of giving out her own name, reminded me of Eddie asking for Buck and checking to see if he’s okay, while he himself was bleeding out on the firetruck’s floor.
The entire thing was heartbreaking, but there was some recognition of that thought on Eddie’s face in the hospital, that made me think about that moment in 4X14.
The second moment was happier, obviously, when Eddie comes to Buck’s house after Chimney punched him. Offering Ice, beer and advice.
They were super cute, and Eddie reading the situation better than anyone could, because Eddie knows Buck better than anybody. I also had a recall moment back to the beginning of S3 where Buck, who usually takes care of everyone and fixes everything, was the one who needed being taken care of, but there was no one there to do it.
Eddie is aware how very similar the Buckley siblings are, and he indeed made a 180° when it comes to catching Buck, as S4 shows.
Eddie reminds Buck that the Maddie he usually knows is not necessarily the Maddie that exist now. This Maddie is in the same position Buck was in S3a, only her way of dealing is stepping back instead of fighting to get back the ground she lost.
The situations are not the same, obviously, but Maddie, who usually takes care of everyone is the one who needs taking care of. Eddie may not have spent much time with Maddie, but he has with Buck and he can see the bigger picture clearer than anyone.
I do love that Eddie teases Buck about Chimney forgiving him, and then goes “Ice goes on the eye bud.” 😂❤
Also that cute shy smile Buck gives Eddie when he teases him? My insides melt just thinking about it. 😍😍😍😍😍
One more thing that pops into my head is the parallel of Madney and buddie here.
Buck says: “But I know she’s gonna be okay,” (which by the way is legitimate because Maddie left Buck and came back to him so many times throughout his life that at this point he’s used to it - that’s why when he tells Chim “Nothing happened to her, she just left.” I pretty much nodded with him, because this is Maddie’s MO. Where Buck fights, she Flights. - it’s that simple.) “He just doesn’t know her the way I do.”
Eddie replies: “Or you don’t know her the way he does.”
This screamed - 'buddie in a nutshell' to me. Because everyone know Buck in one way - the reckless, the brash, the loud one. We all made so many comparisons in 4x14 that you all know what I’m talking about.
But Eddie, he knows Buck in another way, he sees him differently, the Buck that everyone “know” is not the same Buck that Eddie knows. (”Because Evan” comes to mind..🤔)
So yeah, my new all time favorite buddie moment is now the balcony scene.
***
Hen coming to see Chimney off was also very emotional, but I was too mad to really appreciate it, I do however have to say how much I love their friendship, and how well Hen knows Chimney to be able to catch him just before he skips out of town.
I’m looking forward for Eddie and Hen working together, they have before and it’s pretty awesome to watch.
I can already see the probie working with Buck future problems coming on, When Eddie came he had experience, and he was battle tried already, probie is a newly minted civilian turned firefighter who is nowhere near as equipped to working as seamlessly with Buck as Eddie is and I can already see the trouble brewing.
Tbh the only thing I can see not working for Eddie and Hen is the fact that when Chimney is away for too long she gets short tempered. To those who watched from the beginning this is a call back to S1 when Chimney was on medical leave from the rebar incident, and Hen kept snapping at everyone - Bobby even stated “I can’t wait for Chim to come back”. 😂😂
Also if I’m being really honest I thought for sure Buck would say “Where’s Eddie when you need him?” When the were working on extracting the poor science teacher from all the metal bars.
So I really can’t wait for next week!! (btw is anyone else in a non-belief state that Athena is going to slap Harry? Because I really hope I was hallucinating.)
Happy Tuesday everyone!

So that sure was...an episode of some procedural...
Seriously what was that? It felt like a short story someone wanted to write about some inmate we don’t care about wanting to do a good thing, with cameos from (but no real focus on) the characters we know.
It had no heart. Is it me?
I didn’t get pulled into the dad/son storyline. Didn’t know the kid. He sounded like a nice guy? Didn’t even realize we never saw him till he was in surgery so why do I care about him? This is a show that puts like 13 layers of backstory into a bullet in a tree and yet I got nothing for a dying son of a murderer getting another chance at life.
I didn’t get sucked into Hen’s “oh can I do this??” when she’s literally like held a dudes veins together with her hands that other ep. It felt so disingenuous like “oh can she?? can she really??” of fucking course she can, she’s Henrietta fucking Wilson and she’s seen and fixed worse than this.
I didn’t get sucked into Eddie vs Gun because where was the callbacks? Where was the dealing with gun violence after a traumatic shooting??
The crumbs of 9-1-1′s soul I found were in Bobby comforting Ravi, and Eddie going home to Christopher. That’s it.
The rest of this ep was completely stale for me.
And things that were HIGH-KEY MISSING:
A Buck/Eddie hug and in lieu of that, why the FUCK were they sitting an entire room apart??
Anyone giving a shit about Buck being injured. Literally when will the day come? Did they exhaust it all in s2?
Any nod to maybe Buck feels the need to see Christopher too? Like even a line of “we’ll text you when he’s up” to Buck as he left? No? jesus christ
#911 spoilers#911: prison ep#seriously fuck that ep#like it wasn't even BAD#it's just that it was nothing#it said nothing it offered nothing#it had HUGE potential for emotional resonance and did absolutely nothing with it#which is worse than being bad#it's wasting potential#okay#rant over#this ep can go with the water under the bridge now

Chapters: 13/13 Fandom: 9-1-1 (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz Characters: Eddie Diaz (9-1-1), Evan "Buck" Buckley, Christopher Diaz (9-1-1), Carla Price, Bobby Nash, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Howie "Chimney" Han, Athena Grant, Maddie Buckley Additional Tags: PTSD, Trauma, Recovery, Nightmares, Insomnia, TWO IDIOTS, parenting, firehouse family, the buckley/diaz family, and Carla - Freeform, 5+1, At least it was meant to be, its basically over 30k of these three boys, with cameos from the 118, they're a family and don't even notice, Hen and Chim give me life, Bobby is Everyone's Dad, Christopher and Buck, buddie, eddie's got a lot going on okay, canon through 3x03, life continues basically, domestic morons, other canon relationships too, buddie is canon don't lie Summary: As weeks pass after the Tsunami, Christopher has Eddie to help him deal with the scars it left behind. He also has Buck. Buck's dealing with his own demons, but he has both of them.
Eddie's trying to keep them all together and finding out his family might not be as small as he thought.
The 118 have their few cents to add, too, because don't they always.
| Canon through 3x03 | Complete | Depictions of trauma, some more detailed than others |
Bookmarker's Notes:
Buck picks up on the first ring even though Eddie knows he’s at the LAFD Headquarters today.
“Eddie? What’s wrong? Aren’t you on a call?”
Eddie doesn’t ask how he knows.
“Yeah, I am. Chris panicked at school. Sprinklers,” he says quickly. “I’m sorry to ask but can you pos-”
“Where is he?” there’s a clattering sound, a thump, and then the metallic clinking of a set of keys. “I’m going to get him right now.”
Eddie really needs to speak to Chimney about this heart problem he’s developing with the way it twists, knotted high in his throat, the beats almost bruising. He’s less keen to speak to him about the other thing.
This is the second time he’s seriously thought about kissing Buck and he knows he’s running out of excuses.
Just so well written - the slowness, the feelings, the beauty of Eddie and Chris, Chris and Buck, Buck and Eddie and all three together.
This is one of those oneinamillion type fics - it delivers such an emotional punch; in the most beautiful of ways.
The wordsmithery is meltingly good - there were tears from some lines.
#I blame @kristen99#9-1-1 fic#Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz#christopher diaz is a national treasure#i dont normally rec fic but here we are
