#cameo of Hen Wilson
lemotmo · 4 months
Note
You know I’ve tried so hard to stay neutral on the whole Lou/Tommy of it all. But he did another cameo, which he apparently upped the prices the 145 a video?? But he did another one and he dismissed all of Tommy’s past behavior as being corny and teasing which…does not sit right with me. Like racism, misogyny, toxicity, silent compliance of it all….is not just being corny and teasing. And then he ends the video by talking about Tommy came in at the last minute to save the day and save Bobby and Athena so everyone should be good with him now….. like now we’re taking credit for Hens stuff too?
Idk none of that sat well with me at all and if he is sticking around for any of season 8 I think I need the show to just be like no more cameos from you or something.
Hi Nonny, hope the rest of your day was great. Don't allow things like this to get to you too much. If you feel you need a break from social media, make sure to take it. There is already enough stress in real life, don't let it seep into your fandom life as well. Take care of yourself first. You deserve only the best.
Now on to your ask:
I haven’t seen the cameo you are talking about. I have no desire to see that cameo either. I’ve watched one of Lou’s cameos, way back in the beginning when he started doing them. I found it funny, if a little weird that someone would pay for that, but to each their own.
I’ve been hearing about these cameos more and more lately. And yes, they have started to bother me. Mostly because it seems that Lou is charging these people up to 125 dollar (I’ve even read 145 dollars) to talk about the things ‘he’ thinks or believes to be true about Tommy or Buck/Tommy. Basically he’s talking about his own headcanons as an actor. Which again, is fine, because if it helps him to act better, why not?
The problem lies in the fact that some people have started taking Lou’s headcanons for reality. They hear what he says and see it as ‘canon’ because (right now) Buck/Tommy is a canon couple. While it is true that Buck/Tommy is canon, Lou’s headcanons are just that, little fanfictions he made up in his head. It’s a dangerous road to go down, because where does it end? When Buck/Tommy eventually break up, a lot of people will feel misled by him. It won’t be pretty.
So therefore, I’ve decided to never watch any of his cameos. I’m not really interested in his fantasies for the guest character he plays on my favourite show. I’d much rather be focusing on what 911 is actually showing us on our screens. I focus on the nuances and little details that they want us to pick up on.
Sometimes there are small things that seem inconsequential, but turn out to be very important episodes later. Everything matters on television. There are no coincidences. The writers craft the story, every single thing is planned out for the scene, the actors act it out and we watch on in complete fascination. There is no room for a guest actor’s headcanons or fantasies in a prime time show like this.
That being said though, if he truly dismissed Chimney and Hen’s plight under Captain Gerrard as mere ‘teasing’, that is factually wrong. If you go back to watch the scenes in question, there is bigotry, blatant racism and sexism. It makes me wonder if he even remembers the scenes in question. Did he rewatch them before he came back for season 7? We’ll never know.
But it does highlight, once again, that it isn’t smart to give this guy a platform to talk about his personal headcanons. He was always bound to say something dumb that would piss people off at some point. And here we are today, pissed off and annoyed.
I also want to remind everyone that it wasn’t Tommy who is the real ‘hero’ in the story of saving Bathena on the cruise ship. It was Hen Wilson, who had a bad feeling in her gut and decided to follow that feeling. She got the ball rolling, then Chimney jumped to her aide, because he always will. Buck and Eddie decided to join in, without hesitation, because again—they always will. Tommy was merely the helicopter pilot who flew them all in.
By that definition they are all the heroes in this narrative, which is why they all get medals next episode. But it is only Hen who was smart enough to follow her gut. If all the others are ‘heroes’? Hen Wilson is the only ‘big damn hero’.
I do believe Tommy might be sticking around for the beginning of season 8, because I’m not sure there will be enough time to deal with a proper break up in two episodes. Unless Tim surprises me and actually does manage to pull it off.
But yes, someone should just tell him to stop doing those cameos if his character is to carry over to season 8. It’s starting to get a little worrisome at this point. Charging people to talk about your own fantasies for your character, feels a little exploitative.
Whatever happens with him in season 8, ultimately I’m not really worried about Tommy to be honest. Lou’s stint on 911 is coming to an end pretty soon, one way or the other.
Consider this topic closed for me now. I’ve said all I wanted and needed to say. I don’t feel like wasting any more of my time thinking about or writing about this man and his cameos. I’d rather spend my precious fandom time on the things that matter: the amazing people I’ve met, watching the show and crying copious amounts of tears over these characters I’ve come to love so much, theorising and speculating about what might happen in the next episodes and next season, and above all talking about Buddie—my favourite pastime. 😊

So, Eddie starts dating Ana, for some goddamn reason.
Christopher is not liking it one bit. Buck is not a fan of her too ever since the Skateboard incident™. Chris noticed it immediately. And it’s good, because finally some adult who’s not buying her sweet and nice bullshit attitude. Children are very perceptive and Chris is really smart for his age (his dad and Buck say so, not to mention Abuela, and they wouldn’t lie to him). He knew even when Ms Flores was just his English teacher that she only was nice to him because she set her eyes on his dad (eugh! Gross!).
Christopher was polite to her as his mom taught him and for some reason people automatically thought that Ana was his favorite teacher, but it was complete opposite actually. He once overheard her conversation with other teacher, back when she still worked there and when mom was alive, they talked (more like gossiped) about his mom. Something about her being irresponsible and not really a good mother (they are wrong!). Back then Chris told Buck about it because he didn’t want his parents to be upset, but he needed to vent to someone. Buck was furious. They never told Eddie about this though.
So when Eddie (excuse me, Edmundo) came up with the great idea to introduce Ana to Chris after just two pathetic dates, Buck knew it would end in disaster. But not like a loud one, oh no. Christopher is smart and beautiful child, and it happens that he’s extremely cunning. He’s pretty certain that he picked it up from Buck, god, Evan hopes Eddie will never figure it out, or he’ll be in trouble 😥
Christopher ropes Buck into his plans, because they are a team, and they need to get rid of her hypocritical ass and fast.
Buck: Chris, buddy, are you sure it’s a good idea? Why won’t you just talk with your dad? If you don’t like her, he will listen, he cares about your opinion. You know that, right?
Chris: Of course I know, but Buck! Dad needs to see for himself what kind of person she is, and if I tell him I don’t like her, he’ll just assume that I need some time to get to know her or that I don’t want him to date at all and won’t really understand. He’s stubborn like that. And a little oblivious 🙄
Buck: Where it’s coming from, buddy? 😂
Chris: That’s what Abuela and Carla say. They are wise.
Buck: Oh, they’re sure are 🤭
Chris: I want him to be happy, Buck, just not with her. She’s awful.
Buck: Yeah, I get it, sweetheart. I want him to be happy too.
Buck wasn’t sure about this, he’s adult here after all, so he let himself think about it for a few days. Then he bumps into Ana in a coffee shop on his way to work. She knew Buck, how could she not? He comes to parent-teacher meetings pretty frequently, as well as bake sales. She met him. She knew exactly who he is. Aaaaaaand she’s being rude. Extremely rude. Not only to him but to a poor barista (Wow, lady, you need to chill. Pouring your drink down the trash can right in front of everyone? Because it’s too hot? And she didn’t even pay for that!). Buck have known the kid ever since he just started at 118, he sometimes gives free muffins to the team.
Yeah, screw you, Ana. Chris is right. This is war.
So, Buck agrees, partly to supervise his chaotic child and partly because this lady is a real piece of work, alright, she deserves all the wrath of his Superman.
Thus, after the introduction at home begins the quiet nightmare for Ana. She never saw it coming.
Bonus:
Dad went on a date? I’m gonna ring three times before dinner even starts.
Chris: Dad, it’s emergency, where’s my 1000 piece lego set? No, it’s not under the bed, I totally checked there, yeah.
Wanna quietly watch the movie? Not gonna happen. Move your teacher ass, I’ll sit in the middle.
So this is your phone number?
Chris: Buck, give me your laptop! Let’s spread it to some telemarkets.
You want to feed us? With your stinky cooking? Yeah, not a chance.
Chris: Bucky, please, can you come over? I want your famous roast chicken.
Bonus (2):
During the whole shenanigans Eddie suspects somethings and rants about this to Hen (Ana who? 😒). He tried to talk with Buck at first but he was pretty sketchy about all this, and practically ran away to Bobby in the kitchen (yeah, Eddie is not allowed there and Buck knows it). Suspicious.
Besides he doesn’t seem to be particularly fond of Ana. He needs to find out why. Hen’s having an inkling at what is going on, and, Lord give me strength, Eddie is so oblivious, it’s hilarious. Yeah, this Ana thing is not gonna last, let him figure it out. She’s pretty sure Buck got his shit together a long time ago (particularly, maybe, probably on their first Christmas with Eddie), he just waits for Eddie to catch up.

9-1-1 5x04 review
Watched the episode, and I am mad! 😡
it’s bad enough that the lazy writers had Maddie leaving because of suffering of ppd instead of showing that there is a different way.
But they have Chimney taking off with Jee-Yun to find her. Which means no Maddie or Chimney for quite a while. 😭
No uncle Buck moments🥺 - because it was important to the writers to burn that bridge, with one precise punch while having a tantrum, so there was no way Chimney would leave Jee with her uncle, or even her pseudo grandparents.
I feel robbed. And I miss Maddie!😩
Also the cheerleaders confusion, was heartbreaking, I was crying the entire time. - super depressing 😭😭
The light points of this episode for me were:
* The bonding moment between May and Harry, they both having crisis moments, Harry with the aftermath of being kidnapped - being mad - rightfully so - at his parents.
(I haven’t written a meta for the first 3 episodes, but I will say, that even though Athena was a victim here, the first thing I thought, screamed at the tv actually, as soon as that creep ran away was to warn her family. At no point did she tell them and that led to Michael not screening the guests at the house party (yes it was a party), but seriously at all times he should have known where his son was and I’m guessing after watching the news and nearly losing Athena to him, he should have recognized that there was a criminal in his house.)
And poor May, who had trouble to comprehend the large diva- personality that befell her.
Yes, Claudette may be a rock star, but she is a diva, I simply called her a bitch. I met and worked with people like her, Josh’s advice was terrible. The best way to deal with people like this is either to stroke their ego under the guise of learning or completely stay out of their way.
Considering May does not need her to become a dispatcher, since she already is one, staying out of Claudette’s way is the best course of action imo.
So yeah, eating ice cream and sharing how annoying current life progression is between the Grant siblings, was one my favorite moments. - I love that May managed to get Harry to open up, if even a little, when others could not - that’s a real older sister right there! :)
* Buddie moments: Yes there were more than one, I know that they didn’t get to work together but, the fact that Cassie asked about Michaela instead of giving out her own name, reminded me of Eddie asking for Buck and checking to see if he’s okay, while he himself was bleeding out on the firetruck’s floor.
The entire thing was heartbreaking, but there was some recognition of that thought on Eddie’s face in the hospital, that made me think about that moment in 4X14.
The second moment was happier, obviously, when Eddie comes to Buck’s house after Chimney punched him. Offering Ice, beer and advice.
They were super cute, and Eddie reading the situation better than anyone could, because Eddie knows Buck better than anybody. I also had a recall moment back to the beginning of S3 where Buck, who usually takes care of everyone and fixes everything, was the one who needed being taken care of, but there was no one there to do it.
Eddie is aware how very similar the Buckley siblings are, and he indeed made a 180° when it comes to catching Buck, as S4 shows.
Eddie reminds Buck that the Maddie he usually knows is not necessarily the Maddie that exist now. This Maddie is in the same position Buck was in S3a, only her way of dealing is stepping back instead of fighting to get back the ground she lost.
The situations are not the same, obviously, but Maddie, who usually takes care of everyone is the one who needs taking care of. Eddie may not have spent much time with Maddie, but he has with Buck and he can see the bigger picture clearer than anyone.
I do love that Eddie teases Buck about Chimney forgiving him, and then goes “Ice goes on the eye bud.” 😂❤
Also that cute shy smile Buck gives Eddie when he teases him? My insides melt just thinking about it. 😍😍😍😍😍
One more thing that pops into my head is the parallel of Madney and buddie here.
Buck says: “But I know she’s gonna be okay,” (which by the way is legitimate because Maddie left Buck and came back to him so many times throughout his life that at this point he’s used to it - that’s why when he tells Chim “Nothing happened to her, she just left.” I pretty much nodded with him, because this is Maddie’s MO. Where Buck fights, she Flights. - it’s that simple.) “He just doesn’t know her the way I do.”
Eddie replies: “Or you don’t know her the way he does.”
This screamed - 'buddie in a nutshell' to me. Because everyone know Buck in one way - the reckless, the brash, the loud one. We all made so many comparisons in 4x14 that you all know what I’m talking about.
But Eddie, he knows Buck in another way, he sees him differently, the Buck that everyone “know” is not the same Buck that Eddie knows. (”Because Evan” comes to mind..🤔)
So yeah, my new all time favorite buddie moment is now the balcony scene.
***
Hen coming to see Chimney off was also very emotional, but I was too mad to really appreciate it, I do however have to say how much I love their friendship, and how well Hen knows Chimney to be able to catch him just before he skips out of town.
I’m looking forward for Eddie and Hen working together, they have before and it’s pretty awesome to watch.
I can already see the probie working with Buck future problems coming on, When Eddie came he had experience, and he was battle tried already, probie is a newly minted civilian turned firefighter who is nowhere near as equipped to working as seamlessly with Buck as Eddie is and I can already see the trouble brewing.
Tbh the only thing I can see not working for Eddie and Hen is the fact that when Chimney is away for too long she gets short tempered. To those who watched from the beginning this is a call back to S1 when Chimney was on medical leave from the rebar incident, and Hen kept snapping at everyone - Bobby even stated “I can’t wait for Chim to come back”. 😂😂
Also if I’m being really honest I thought for sure Buck would say “Where’s Eddie when you need him?” When the were working on extracting the poor science teacher from all the metal bars.
So I really can’t wait for next week!! (btw is anyone else in a non-belief state that Athena is going to slap Harry? Because I really hope I was hallucinating.)
Happy Tuesday everyone!

So that sure was...an episode of some procedural...
Seriously what was that? It felt like a short story someone wanted to write about some inmate we don’t care about wanting to do a good thing, with cameos from (but no real focus on) the characters we know.
It had no heart. Is it me?
I didn’t get pulled into the dad/son storyline. Didn’t know the kid. He sounded like a nice guy? Didn’t even realize we never saw him till he was in surgery so why do I care about him? This is a show that puts like 13 layers of backstory into a bullet in a tree and yet I got nothing for a dying son of a murderer getting another chance at life.
I didn’t get sucked into Hen’s “oh can I do this??” when she’s literally like held a dudes veins together with her hands that other ep. It felt so disingenuous like “oh can she?? can she really??” of fucking course she can, she’s Henrietta fucking Wilson and she’s seen and fixed worse than this.
I didn’t get sucked into Eddie vs Gun because where was the callbacks? Where was the dealing with gun violence after a traumatic shooting??
The crumbs of 9-1-1′s soul I found were in Bobby comforting Ravi, and Eddie going home to Christopher. That’s it.
The rest of this ep was completely stale for me.
And things that were HIGH-KEY MISSING:
A Buck/Eddie hug and in lieu of that, why the FUCK were they sitting an entire room apart??
Anyone giving a shit about Buck being injured. Literally when will the day come? Did they exhaust it all in s2?
Any nod to maybe Buck feels the need to see Christopher too? Like even a line of “we’ll text you when he’s up” to Buck as he left? No? jesus christ

Chapters: 13/13 Fandom: 9-1-1 (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz Characters: Eddie Diaz (9-1-1), Evan "Buck" Buckley, Christopher Diaz (9-1-1), Carla Price, Bobby Nash, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Howie "Chimney" Han, Athena Grant, Maddie Buckley Additional Tags: PTSD, Trauma, Recovery, Nightmares, Insomnia, TWO IDIOTS, parenting, firehouse family, the buckley/diaz family, and Carla - Freeform, 5+1, At least it was meant to be, its basically over 30k of these three boys, with cameos from the 118, they're a family and don't even notice, Hen and Chim give me life, Bobby is Everyone's Dad, Christopher and Buck, buddie, eddie's got a lot going on okay, canon through 3x03, life continues basically, domestic morons, other canon relationships too, buddie is canon don't lie Summary: As weeks pass after the Tsunami, Christopher has Eddie to help him deal with the scars it left behind. He also has Buck. Buck's dealing with his own demons, but he has both of them.
Eddie's trying to keep them all together and finding out his family might not be as small as he thought.
The 118 have their few cents to add, too, because don't they always.
| Canon through 3x03 | Complete | Depictions of trauma, some more detailed than others |
Bookmarker's Notes:
Buck picks up on the first ring even though Eddie knows he’s at the LAFD Headquarters today.
“Eddie? What’s wrong? Aren’t you on a call?”
Eddie doesn’t ask how he knows.
“Yeah, I am. Chris panicked at school. Sprinklers,” he says quickly. “I’m sorry to ask but can you pos-”
“Where is he?” there’s a clattering sound, a thump, and then the metallic clinking of a set of keys. “I’m going to get him right now.”
Eddie really needs to speak to Chimney about this heart problem he’s developing with the way it twists, knotted high in his throat, the beats almost bruising. He’s less keen to speak to him about the other thing.
This is the second time he’s seriously thought about kissing Buck and he knows he’s running out of excuses.
Just so well written - the slowness, the feelings, the beauty of Eddie and Chris, Chris and Buck, Buck and Eddie and all three together.
This is one of those oneinamillion type fics - it delivers such an emotional punch; in the most beautiful of ways.
The wordsmithery is meltingly good - there were tears from some lines.
