NHL Expansion Draft 2021: Full list of players available for Seattle Kraken
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The NHL announced the protected lists for the 30 teams involved in the NHL Expansion Draft. (Vegas is exempt.) With the names of those protected come the guys who could be snatched up by the Seattle Kraken. There are a number of big names that have everyone trying to figure out just what general manager Ron Francis will do. Will he take Canadiens netminder, and future Hall of Famer, Carey Price and his hefty cap hit? Is Vladimir Tarasenko the sniper he needs or is his health a big question mark? There's also a number of guys who would fit in nicely but are free agents and the chances of signing them are not high (i.e. Alex Ovechkin).  EXPANSION DRAFT: Date, time, rules & more for Seattle Kraken team selectionRegardless of what Francis, coach Dave Hakstrol and Co. end up doing, there's a good chance the Kraken will be a playoff contender in just their first season. For now, let the intrigue and the guessing WWRFD (that's: what will Ron Francis do?) begin. Here's a look at every player they can pick.

Phantom of The Opera
The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - 25th Anniversary - Live At The Royal Albert Hall - October 2, 2011 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom of the Opera), Sierra Boggess (Christine Daaé), Hadley Fraser (Raoul), Wendy Ferguson (Carlotta Giudicelli), Gareth Snook (Monsieur Firmin), Barry James (Monsieur André), Liz Robertson (Madame Giry), Wynne Evans (Ubaldo Piangi), Daisy Maywood (Meg Giry), Nick Holder (Joseph Buquet), Earl Carpenter (Auctioneer), Sergei Polunin (Slave Master) NOTES: Commonly referred to as "Live Stream Version 1" to differentiate from the other cinema live stream video of this production. Typically circulates as a 5.36 GB MKV file with AC3 5.1 audio. Has alternate takes from Live Stream Version 2 and the officially released verson. The first shot in this version is of the orchestra (pictured below). Another note is that Piangi does not hit the note the note in Hannibal ”Your army ha - ha - has come home!" (and the camera is zoomed out more than Version 2, showing Carlotta next to him). You can also see him put his hand on his collar bone near his throat, which he does not do in Version 2.
The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - February 28, 1988 (Highlights) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Michael Crawford (The Phantom of the Opera), Sarah Brightman (Christine Daaé), Steve Barton (Raoul) NOTES: About an hour and a half of the show, missing a bunch of the beginning of act 2, which starts in the middle of Don Juan. Clear video for its age The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - March 2, 2005 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera), Julie Hanson (u/s Christine Daaé), John Cudia (Raoul) NOTES: Great quality video but the filmer seemed to lack in knowledge of the show so wideshots are more than usual. Amazing trio, but Hugh is a little less stronger this night The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - October 1, 2005 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera), Sandra Joseph (Christine Daaé), Tim Martin Gleason (Raoul), Anne Runolfsson (Carlotta Giudicelli), James Romick (u/s Monsieur Firmin), George Lee Andrews (Monsieur André), Marilyn Caskey (Madame Giry), Larry Wayne Morbitt (Ubaldo Piangi), Kara Klein (Meg Giry) NOTES: Hugh's last night performing and Sandra gives a very sweet speech. Hugh Panaro's last performance at the time, includes curtain call and speeches at the end. Beautiful, clear picture with great detail and quality, and the entire cast was on fire. The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - May 9, 2007 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Gary Mauer (The Phantom of the Opera), Jennifer Hope Wills (Christine Daaé), Jason Mills (u/s Raoul), Patricia Phillips (u/s Carlotta Giudicelli), David Cryer (Monsieur Firmin), George Lee Andrews (Monsieur André), Sally Williams (u/s Madame Giry), Roland Rusinek (Ubaldo Piangi), Heather McFadden (Meg Giry) NOTES: A gorgeous video and the filmer knows the show very well. Includes a flub where Buquet fails to appear in time for Magical Lasso so Meg Giry gets in touch with her Leroux roots The Phantom of the Opera (Andrew Lloyd Webber) - Broadway - October 13, 2012 (Lanelle's master) FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Hugh Panaro (The Phantom of the Opera), Trista Moldovan (Christine Daaé), Kyle Barisich (Raoul), Michele McConnell (Carlotta Giudicelli), Kevin Ligon (Monsieur Firmin), Aaron Galligan-Stierle (Monsieur André), Cristin Hubbard (Madame Giry), Christian Sebek (Ubaldo Piangi), Joelle Gates (Meg Giry) NOTES: Gorgeous video with vibrant and steady filming! Thoughts of Steel #1: SUPERMANS! (”Multiplicity” Recap and Review)
I love Superman. I love comic books. Therefore, I love Superman comic books. And there is one tenet that I hold true regarding both: the only thing better than a comic with Superman is a comic with more than one Superman. So it’s probably not that much of a surprise that I’m pretty stoked with the current “Multiplicity” arc in Superman. This series is bonkers, from the Eradicator eating people (and Krypto) to Clark and his son getting trapped on Dinosaur Island to a psychedelic moose (it happened) and, most recently, a team-up with Frankenstein and the Bride. It’s a book that has consistently relished its place in the DC Universe, and Superman #14 is no exception. So much so, I’ve decided to write about it. This is “Thoughts of Steel!”
Tumblr media
The Story So Far:
Opening with Clark Kent having a grocery run interrupted by the arrival of a battered Red Son Superman of Earth-30, the two are attacked by a legion of monsters called Gatherers, sent by the story-arc’s big bad, Prophecy. The Gatherers are after targeting Supers across the Multiverse on “the Lyst,” and their next target is none other than Kong Kenan--the New Super-Man of Prime Earth! To stop them, Clark and the Red Son Superman join forces with President Superman of Earth-23 and the Justice League Incarnate from The Multiversity before Prophecy can drain the Supers of their powers.
Tumblr media
This Issue:
This is an action-packed issue, jumping from a team-up of the Rebirth Superman and the Red Son Superman to a battle between New Super-Man Kenan Kong against a swarm of Gatherers, with a smooth transition in the middle introducing the plot and the JLI. Ivan Reis and Joe Prado step in as the art team, bringing this book the closest to DC’s house-style it’s gotten, but Marcelo Maiolo’s colors bolster the energy of their work enough to downplay that. Really, the weakest part of the issue is Kenan’s characterization. He only makes a brief appearance, but there’s none of the trademark bluster that Gene Luen Yang writes him with in New Super-Man. Still, it’s really cool to see that corner of the DC Universe finally show up in a more mainstream title like Superman.
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts:
“Multiplicity” is off to a great start with this issue, and with two more issues before this arc wraps up, we’ll see if this arc can live up to the hype. With an engaging plot, slick art, and some of the greatest characters of the Multiverse, Superman #14 is yet another solid entry in a superb series. 9.5/10
Tumblr media
Spoiler Bullets:
Red Son Superman and Clark have joined President Superman and the Justice League Incarnate.
The Gatherers aren’t after Clark--the Superman of Prime Earth is Kenan; we’ll see how this ties in with the overarching Rebirth storyline concerning Superman.
Captured Supers: New Super-Man (Prime Earth/Earth-0), Superman (Earth-1), Val-Zod (Earth-2), Superwoman (Earth-11), Kingdom Come Superman (Earth-22), Captain Carrot (Earth-26), Bizarro (Earth-29), Batman: Leatherwing Clark Kent (Earth-31), Super-Martian (Earth-32), Vampire Superman (Earth-43), Batman/Superman: Generations Superman (Earth-38), Clark Kent?/Superdoom? (Earth-45), Sunshine Superman (Earth-47), and Justice Lord Superman (Earth-50).
Captain Carrot has been depowered and is now a regular bunny.

Rundown Of “The Honeymooners” Marathon On PIX11 12/31/2021-1/1/2022
For the last couple of years I’ve sat down and cobbled together a complete rundown of the annual marathon of episodes of “The Honeymooners” that is presented to us over on PIX11. In 2020 it was super important to keep people indoors for safety’s sake and now with the terrible surge in cases of this Omicron variant I think that this might be the best course of action for 2021’s New Year’s Eve as…

Ann Moore Gregory was a pioneering African-American female golfer. Gregory took home over 400 trophies and won over 300 golf tournaments from all over the world in the span of her career. Gregory was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi, on July 25, 1912. She was the middle child of five to Henry and Myra Moore. When she was just four years old, her parents died in a car accident and their former employer, a white family named Sanders, took her in. Gregory graduated high school in 1930. After which, she moved in with her sister and brother-in-law in Gary, Indiana. She began working as a caterer and played tennis in her spare time. By 1944, Gregory began taking golf lessons from professional golfer Calvin Ingram. The following year, she entered her first professional tournament, the 8th Annual Chicago Women’s Golf Club Tournament, and finished second place. A member of the UGA, an organization for African American Golfers formed in 1925, Gregory was often invited to play in prestigious tournaments, causing a media uproar as she was usually the only African-American woman competing. In 1948, Gregory won her first of five Chicago Women’s Golf Club tournaments, as well as a tournament in Kankakee, Illinois, where both she and her husband competed and won. In 1950, she won six of the seven tournaments; that year, she was dubbed “The Queen of Negro Golf.” In 1956, the Chicago Women’s Golf Club became the first African American organization to join the United States Golf Association. Gregory soon became the first African-American to play in the SGA women’s national championship Although Gregory was an accomplished golfer, she still had to fight the racism of her era. She went on to break down the color barrier in Indiana at South Gleason Golf Course by demanding to play the full 18 holes when African Americans were allowed to play only nine. Once, she was mistaken for a maid by a fellow player during a tournament, which led to a very embarrassing moment for the player when she faced Gregory on the green. During the lifespan of Gregory’s career, she took home 400 trophies and won over 300 golf tournaments from all over the world in a career that spanned over five decades. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-mvIa8Jarz/?igshid=14o0blc3tgb80
