i’m rereading To The Brink and boy does Good Luck Babe by Chappell Roan fit it to a TEE
Tumblr media
Omg yes it does!
When you wake up next to him in the middle of the night
With your head in your hands, you're nothing more than his wife!
And when you think about me, all of those years ago
You're standing face to face with "I told you so"

Alice Kramden : [to Norton] Ed, I realize that I cannot talk to Ralph because he is stubborn and unreasonable, but I've always had great respect for your sense of fair play, and so I appeal to you. IT IS LATE. People would like to go to sleep. I think you should stop playing the piano. And I know that you will agree with me, Ed, because you have always been fair and considerate. You are a reasonable man.
Ralph Kramden : Don't let her soft-soap you. Don't let her soft-soap you! You're just as unreasonable as I am. Play the piano!
Alice Kramden : If you touch that piano again, I'll lose all my respect for you!
Ralph Kramden : [threateningly] Go ahead and play, Norton, if you don't wanna lose my friendship!
Ed Norton : Well, I'm in a spot. If I play, I lose her respect; if I don't play, I lose your friendship.
[anguished wail]
Ed Norton : Why, oh why was I blessed with this musical talent?

Ralph : Just remember, you can't put you arms around a memory.
Alice : I can't even put my arms around you.
Where’d you think Johnny got the line from? Shakespeare?

The layout of the kramden's apartment always just depressed the hell out of me as a kid
I was familiar with black and white shows that took place even farther back then The Honeymooners and the bleakness of the set just distracted me from anything going on

A Matter of Life and Death - Chapter 7 - Korra x Asami
Tumblr media
AO3 | Korra x Asami | Rated M | Canon Divergence
This is a normal thing - riding a dragon bird. In Korra’s world this is a totally normal occurrence and I need to get on board… How do I steer this thing? Intention? Pointing?
“Korra said she found you at Hai-Riyo Peak, is that a name I could call you? Hai-Riyo?” She wondered aloud, unsure that she would be understood, or even heard in the rush of storm and sky. However, in response, the Dragon bird spirit sped up, eyes closed contentedly, and Asami swore the corders of its beak perked up before she slammed her face onto their neck as she clung for dear life. The world beneath them is skating past at an alarming rate; never in all Asami’s years of flying has she soared so fast without protection from the elements.
The Spirit World from above was breathtaking, even with the country-long crack of inky black bleeding into the sky. The spirits below darting from grove to grove in panicking shoals. Banking over a dense forest, floating whales took shelter, a pack of giant glowing dog spirits raced to meet them, seemingly chasing smaller bluer foxes sprinted ahead of them. Asami’s gut reacted, the sight of them evoked a memory of Korra emerging from the ocean, preceded by a creature Asami hadn’t paid much attention at the time. It had watched for Korra expectedly from the shore; it had been the one leading her.
“There!” before Asami could bring herself to unfurl her grip on the beast’s back it was turning. Diving at breakneck speed, descending upon where the animals scurried into the forest. The dragon bird cut through canopy without breaking its rhythm, slicing though shuddering trees until a blue fox lay trapped under claw.
“Easy,” Asami dismounted, finding the fox pushing itself flat against the ground, away from Hai’s hovering talon. Its blue aura was fading now, in favour of gently glowing eyes and a soft beige fur. Gently prying the dragons claw from the foxes raised hackles, she soothed a shaking hand down its back until it preened. “I don’t know how to do this,” she breathed to herself, yet the creature was hopping up on her lap and happily snuffling her face.
“You or something like you, led Korra to me,” she explained, helplessly, to a creature she wasn’t altogether sure would understand. It was free now, but in the calmer shelter of the trickling forest, its urgency had faded. Instead waiting patiently, seemingly for her point. “Can you take me to her now?”
