well, firstly, anon, this is tumblr dot com, not maths class. i've said repeatedly, and i will say it again, that i reserve the right to be as hypocritical and insane as i want here. after all, it's tumblr - if i can't be insane and hypocritical here, then where can i?

example: anyone who watches my blog at all during a race week will know that i am NO max fan. not in the slightest. and yet i will occasionally reblog maxiel fic recs. why? well, because they're quite often quite well-written. at the end of the day, i'm a fangirl and also a bisexual disaster, so if there's a well-written gay fanfic, the chances are relatively high that i will read and enjoy it. also: i think there's quite a significant difference between fic!max (who i occasionally enjoy) and driver!max (who i despise quite passionately.) fic!max has a lot of background and nuance that can make for fascinating characterisation, and as a writer, i just enjoy that.

now for carlos specifically: please let it be known that i do not hate him the way i hate max. not even close. i am, however, a dedicated chirlie (charles girlie) and anyone who gets in the way of charles doing well is automatically in my bad books. i do try to be at least a little reasonable about it, though, and yes i absolutely do realise that a lot of major fuck-ups this season were ferrari's, not carlos' (see: silverstone 2022.) but yeah, unfortunately the way carlos has handled a lot of interviews this year really rubbed me up the wrong way, and i read one too many comparisons of carlos girlies calling him more talented than charles as well. which.... babe, no.

like i said at the start, i am fully aware that i'm a hypocrite lmao. but i'm not HERE to be unbiased. we are watching a sport - everyone is biased towards their favourites, and i'm not going to apologise for that.

and as for carlando and piarlos - i treat them the same way as i would maxiel. carlos might not be on my favourites list as a driver, but he's an interesting character to explore in fic. i am at the end of the day a writer, and i like interesting characters to explore, so yes, i am quite happy to post carlando or piarlos or very very occasionally even charlos content (because akira is the best and might convert me one day. we'll see.)

anyway! the last thing i wanted to say to you, anon, is just a gentle reminder again of the PURPOSE of fandom. it is an escape from real life, somewhere where we can come to have fun. the same rules and restrictions and - dare i say it - morals that we use irl do not apply here. they just don't! fandom should be about what makes one happy, and nobody really has the right to police that, i don't think.

so tl;dr - anon, i am here to do whatever it is that makes me happy in that moment. if that's carlando and/or piarlos, then that's what i'll do. if you have a problem with that, then i'm happy to point you in the direction of the Unfollow button, lmao - curate your experience! see what you want to see. have fun!

Something I love about the Sonic the Hedgehog series is that it is unashamedly governed by the Rule of Cool. Just looking at the characters themselves you can see it. Snarky guy who does his own thing and loves his friends and literally runs around the world at the speed of sound? Absolutely incredible. imagine Foul Legacy's coming back from a small adventure outside, his arms full of pretty leaves and shiny rocks he picked up along the way- he always, always brings something back for you when he goes outside, something small for you to display on a shelf. you don't know that they're courting gifts, trinkets and flowers being especially important to Legacy, who lived surrounded by death and lightless stars. he pushes the door open with a happy chirp to call out for you, but instantly pauses, the noise dying in his throat. the house is utterly silent, lights left on but missing your familiar warm presence. Legacy trills frantically, going from room to room to search for you until he catches the faint sound of wheezing from none other than your closet. he yanks the doors open and- there, there! you're tucked in the farthest, darkest corner, your breaths coming out in quickened, painful huffs and coughs as you struggle between wanting to sob and wanting to breathe

Legacy's chitters immediately soften to gentle croons, kneeling down and flattening his wings so he's not as threatening before slowly extending a clawed hand. you flinch at the movement and Legacy whines in anguish, keeping his hand extended until you tentatively take hold of it, your fingers trembling, and his heart just breaks. he simply sits there for several minutes, gently pressing his thumb into your palms and purring, low and soothing. eventually he gives your hands a light tug, your breathing coming out much calmer, and you slowly scoot from your position in the closet to his lap, leaning your head against his chest. Legacy promptly wraps his arms around you and squeezes gently, slowly rocking you back and forth. he shows you what he picked up on his walk to distract you, nudging his forehead against yours as you admire the shiny stones and fiery leaves. only when he's absolutely sure that you're feeling okay does he let out a quiet, questioning trill, and settles back with you in his arms as you recount the day and everything that happened too quickly and too much, until Legacy came home and held you close

So I don't have 'the book of bill' yet, but it's making the gf tag trend so i poke my head in once in a while when the tumblr search preview promises and denies me an art i might be interested in

I am fascinated by the discourse. Although one particular post seemed like it was trying to suggest Bill is entirely aroace - and therefore billford shipping is Unwarranted - based on quotes from the book where bill makes a whole point of being all 'eww humans and their relationships are gross or whatever'

And like. As someone aroace. Y'kno what he absolutely could be. But I feel like... after a point a) it goes against the text of all gravity falls material (and more importantly, Sub-text) to assume that he's being entirely 1000% honest and is not even a teensy tiny bit lying or In Blatant Denial because like. Lbr, it plays into his crafted untouchable villain image to take his hokey 'lmao humans Gross and Foreign and Silly' words at face value;

and b) him being aroace doesn't go against any of the stuff that's leading to people hyped on the ship train either, in this case. Specifically because there's a LOT of cues, implications, so on and so forth, that make it clear Bill had some sort of possessive fixation on Stanford. Romantic, platonic, qpr, whatever.

Was it healthy? Obviously not, kind of the whole point of the events that were the basis of everything we see onscreen in the show. But that doesn't mean it's not there either. Whatever it is.

And honestly even if he were aroace he's clearly some sort of favorable, if only because he used his own goddamn romance advice on Ford in the series finale. Even if you argued he's trying and failing to manipulate ford using romance tactics and doesn't feel it like. He obviously is not as repulsed as he's trying to sound if THAT'S the angle he played. Which again calls the veracity of his words into question, just a bit.

(Also a note on another quote I saw - in a section titled "exes" - yeah he claims he has none, wants nothing to do with it etc. But there is also BLATANT lines blacked out above that. That should kind of tip you off that maybe. He's not being honest with us besties.)

Idk. I may be taking the intent of the aroace post out of context and/or misunderstanding tbqh, part of why I'm making my own post. But that and the people screeching how the dynamic is toxic - as if that prevents it from being there in the text, and makes it unexplorable - just had me thinking.

This was meant to be all in one chapter but I think I make people suffer enough with my long stories so I decided to split it up. Call me delusional but I still consider this a one-shot.

Anyway, if anyone is looking for Agatha All Along fics or AgathaRio or just Agatha in general (because people have slowed down on writing about my girl) then I present this. Cannot promise its brilliant but… its there! Haha
