Kalanchoe info pages: "This plant blooms in winter!"

My kalanchoe: *has thus far bloomed all summer every summer since I bought it as a tiny sprig two years ago*

So, did I ever mentioned the fact Stygian had a band?

-Stygian is the vocalist, kinda obvious. Anyways I also gave him a grunt form, to not be recognized? Let's say the Empoyers are known at some extent.

-The G03LM is meant to be the drummer, I think I called him Cerberus. The reason is that I like the idea of some big guy in the group and I liked the edgy name (I like G03LM's in general tbh).

-The other grunt is the guitarist. I themed her based on Calandiva's flowers (and it was also her name), but in this new version she wears a Chrysanthemum and I don't really know how to name her now.

I'll be honest that I don't know much about band building, so excuse me if I got it wrong.

Chapter 6: Purple Petunias

This is not a date. This is not a date!! Yachi repeatedly chants in her head as she makes her way towards the Night Owl Stories. Tote bag clutched close to her body, she looks down and reassesses her outfit.

She tried not to dress up too much, she really did! However, her pale prim floral sundress and ruffled socks differed enough from her usual wear that it pulled a teasing laugh out of Yamaguchi when she showed up to her shift.

She flushed at the memory, quickly shaking her head to shake the thoughts away. She just felt like dressing up a little more today, nothing to it! Besides, it was warm and sunny out, perfect weather to wear a cute dress. It definitely wasn’t in hopes of impressing a certain someone!

Yachi halts in front of the door and takes a deep breath before pulling it open and stepping in. She keeps in mind that y/n does indeed want to talk with her to keep her nerves at bay. It seems Akaashi isn’t working a shift this afternoon. Her eyes shift around the shop in search for a table and immediately catches on to a familiar figure.

As she makes her way closer to the cozy corner y/n sits in, Yachi slows her steps as if suddenly in a trance. There y/n sits, focusing on her iPad, doodling to her heart’s content. Her usual leather jacket is draped carefully over the back of her chair. A couple loose strands of hair had slipped from its place. Yachi clenches her fist to prevent herself from reaching out and tucking them back in their place.

Sensing Yachi’s presence, y/n looks up from her work. Yachi’s breath hitches. Yep, still as gorgeous as she remembers.

“Hi! Sorry I just got off work. I hope you didn’t have to wait long,” Yachi shyly greets, taking the seat across from y/n.

“No worries, I wanted to work here for a bit before our designated time so I got here much earlier,” y/n chuckles, shifting her iPad to the side of the table, “Oh, also I went ahead and ordered you something. I hope that’s alright.”

A tattooed arm gently pushes a tall glass cup filled with enticingly pink strawberry frappuccino towards Yachi. The whipped cream looks a little melted, but besides that the frappuccino seems to have just been freshly made.

“I was hoping to get started right away so I ordered something I thought you’d like,” y/n rests her chin on her hand, looking a little bashful.

Yachi’s heart warms at y/n’s excitement to chat with her. She returns a shy smile and nods.

“Ahhh this is actually my favorite! How’d you guess?” Yachi blushes.

“You look like you’d like something sweet,” y/n winks, “Plus, I ordered it earlier and really enjoyed it so I was hoping you would too.”

Yachi’s eyes widen a little, “You like sweet things too? You look like the type to drink coffee black.”

Y/n’s joyous laugh rings out through the shop before she is able to contain it into giggles. Her laugh is infectious and Yachi can’t help but to laugh along.

“You wouldn’t be the first to say that. I might look like I like black coffee, but I actually have a major sweet tooth,” the tattooed girl wipes a stray tear from her eye.

Yachi flushes, “Sorry I shouldn’t have assumed.”

“It’s alright, I’m always curious what people think of me from just my looks,” y/n offers comfortingly.

“Actually, you kind of remind me of calandivas! They look a lot like roses, but they aren’t,” Yachi says thoughtfully.

“Oh, how so?” Y/n leans in, intrigued.

“A lot of people mistake them for roses by their looks in the same sense that people often mistake your personality for something else just by your looks,” Yachi nods to herself.

Y/n lets out an inquisitive hum, her grin widening. Yachi finally notices that y/n had leaned in and lets out a squeak, quickly backing up. She feels all her blood rush up to her cheeks and slaps her palms over them.

“Um, thanks for the drink! Why don’t we get started?” the blonde tries to shift her thoughts.

“Sure, teach me everything you know,” y/n leans in even more, eyes sparkling with eagerness.

Fun facts:

Yachi and Akaashi are roommates!

Akaashi is the owner of Night Owl Stories

They met in college while they both had to study for a final

The library was all full so Yachi ended up at the campus cafe, but it was so packed that she had to go around asking ppl to share tables

She got closer and closer to tears at every table she had to ask

Akaashi saved her from breaking down in the middle of the cafe by offering the empty seat across him

Their meeting is lowkey Akaashi’s inspiration for opening up Night Owl Stories!

He hopes to offer people a more peaceful cafe to study or read in

He often stocks up on textbooks for this reason

Sobre a Kalanchoê ou Flor-da-fortuna

O kalanchoê, ou flor-da-fortuna (Kalanchöe blossfeldiana) é uma planta originaria da África e de Madagáscar. É uma planta perene (vive mais de um ano), mas também é tratada como uma planta anual. Clima equatorial, subtropical e tropical. Tolerante ao frio. Aprecia sol directo, mas em regiões muito quente, deverá ser plantada em locais que receba apenas o sol da manhã. Cultivada em solo fértil, rico em matéria orgânica e enriquecida com farinha de osso, bem drenado com regas moderadas. Muita água faz com que a planta apodreça e pouca água causa queda prematura de folhas e flores. Evitar molhar flores e folhas quando regar.

Apesar de planta perene, os canteiros devem ser renovados anualmente a fim de que o conjunto mantenha-se com bom aspecto, pois as floradas seguintes são menores. A Kalanchoê multiplica-se por sementes, estacas e folhas, mas somente por sementes as mudas serão perfeitas.
