To Amayian from Teagan:
To me, you are my all, and as long as our souls are connected I will love you for all our highs and lows.
To Alex from Cal:
There is no one I trust more than you, you are my love, my sun, my spark. But let me take care of you just as you have for me. You deserve rest too.
Amayian would smile a little, though it would be shy and small. "I will strive to keep it always high, and though it may be low at times, know I will try to pick you up."
-
Alexandra would smile. "As long as you get some rest, I can accept that. But you are my storm, the spark of my heart, the rain that fertilizes the desert of my sorrow."

happy friday jay! for the Hawke familly: ❛ before you do anything, try this and tell me what you think. ❜
thank you for the prompt, mer! :D have a fluffier follow-up to this one from a couple weeks ago for @dadrunkwriting

The old Amell Estate finally felt alive with both of their siblings in it. It was still a far cry from the manor’s glory days, when it had housed multiple generations at once and a full staff, but it was enough for Cal. Carver was on leave from the Wardens, or so he claimed; Bethany had entrusted her new students to a fellow former Enchanter whom she’d met through the Inquisition. How she’d managed to get anywhere near the Inquisition’s mages without Cal’s notice, they didn’t know, but it didn’t really matter. The important part was that both of them would be in Kirkwall for two weeks, and Cal intended to enjoy it.
Within the first couple of days after the unexpected arrival of the twins, the three of them had settled into something of a routine, however temporary it was. Carver was usually already up and about by the time Cal emerged from their room, and Bethany tended to drift into the dining room when the other two were halfway through breakfast. It was nothing like how it had been the last time the three of them were together, and yet exactly the same.
On the fifth day, Cal finally had somewhere to be—Merrill had invited them over for tea. No doubt she would have invited their siblings had she known they were in town, but when Cal invited the two of them along, they’d both declined. Carver had said something about needing to go shopping, as if Cal didn’t have household staff who could do that for him. Then again, they could still remember how reluctant they’d been to ask Bodahn or Orana to do things for them at first. Maybe Carver didn’t feel like he had the right to order them around—even if Cal was paying them. For that matter, Cal paid each of them more than what each had asked for. They could afford to, so why not?
And so they made their way down to the alienage alone. Despite the years that had passed, it was still a familiar walk. In addition, Cal was pleased to find familiar faces in the Lowtown market. Even more pleased that none of those faces was their uncle, who was, as far as they knew, still living just beyond the edges of the alienage. Gamlen was hardly the worst person in Kirkwall, but… well, he’d never given Cal much reason to like him.
Finally, their feet stopped just outside Merrill’s door. As always, Cal felt eyes on them with every step they’d taken inside the alienage. Normally, the only humans who stepped foot in this corner of Lowtown were looking to make trouble. Cal knew well that they were one of a rare few who meant no ill will, and couldn’t fault Merrill’s neighbors for being wary of them. They’d been wary of Merrill, too, for so long.
Merrill beamed at them as she opened her door. Though Cal had seen her just a week ago, somehow it felt like it’d been closer to a year—then they abruptly realized that was because she’d had her hair pinned up the last time they’d seen her, and now it hung loose past her shoulders. “Hawke! You looked so dreary last week—what’s happened to cheer you up?” she said with unabashed fondness as she moved back to let them in.
Cal chuckled softly as they stepped inside. “I had a couple of unexpected visitors for First Day,” they replied.
Merrill looked at them for a few seconds as she considered. “Anders and Fenris?”
They shook their head. “No, not yet. Bethany and Carver.”
Her grin widened more than Cal would’ve thought possible. “How delightful!” she declared, then turned and padded across the small room to the table. The Veil shivered slightly as Merrill drew on the Fade to heat up her little teapot, then she turned back to them. “Are they still in Kirkwall?”
Cal nodded, following her over to the table and resting their forearms atop the back of a chair. “They’ll be here for another week,” they replied. “I invited them to come along, but I guess the two of them already had plans to be out today. They’re staying with me in the estate, if you want to come visit.”
“Oh, I would love to!” She flashed them another broad grin, then turned her attention to the now-steaming teapot. “Did you want green or black tea?”
“Black, please,” Cal answered. They liked a good coffee, too, but after tasting proper Antivan coffee in the office of the Inquisition’s chief diplomat… Cal wasn’t sure they could ever go back to drinking the far inferior coffee that could be found in Kirkwall. After a moment, they added, “With a little sugar.” But only a little, because sugar was not cheap, and Merrill had always refused to take any coin from Cal that she didn’t think she’d earned.
“I remember,” she said brightly. Once the tea was ready and each of them had a cup in hand, they both took a seat at the table and fell back into the easy rapport that Cal had been so afraid they’d lost in their time away. By the time Cal finally took their leave, it seemed like they’d only been there an hour, but the sky above Kirkwall was pink and orange when they left Merrill’s house. They’d talked for several hours, Cal realized—but they found they didn’t really care. It felt good to spend time with people who knew them, who genuinely cared for them. After the comparative loneliness of hiding within the Inquisition—or just existing within it, after their true identity had come out—they desperately needed those connections.
The sun had fully set and the sky was inky black by the time Cal returned to the estate. Though they carried no weapon and wore no armor—a perfect target for Kirkwall’s ne’er-do-wells—not a single soul even tried to get in their way as they walked the city streets. Whether that was due to Aveline’s city guard finally, actually, making a dent in the gangs that ruled Kirkwall at night, or whether Cal’s reputation still held weight in the city, they didn’t know. They’d been ready to cast fireballs on anyone who dared to accost them, but as they reached their own doorstep, they allowed the magic collected around their fingertips to dissipate. At least in theory, they would be perfectly safe within their own home.
That was until they stepped inside, shed their boots in the entryway, and stepped into the front hall only for Carver to seemingly pop up out of nowhere with a fork in his hand. Speared onto the fork was something that Cal guessed was some kind of baked good, though they didn’t get much of a look at it before it was squarely in front of their nose. “Before you do anything,” Carver said, “try this and tell me what you think.”
Cal stared blankly at him for a long moment, then lifted a hand to take the fork from him. They studied it for a moment—it smelled sweet and citrusy—then with some degree of wariness, they popped the bite of baked good into their mouth. It was cake, they realized after a second. Remarkably delicious cake, in fact. Was that what the two of them had gone shopping for? “It’s fantastic,” Cal told him. “Where did you get it?”
Carver grinned. “Secret.”
They sighed, fixing him with an exasperated look. “You know I know there’s only a couple of bakers in this city who could make something that good. If you don’t tell me, I’ll be able to figure it out by the end of tomorrow.”
A flicker of movement towards the back of the room caught Cal’s eye. Bethany stepped out from the hallway, wearing an apron that looked to be smeared with flour, and said, “I made it. You really like it?”
“Maker, Bethy, when did you learn how to bake like that?” they asked, genuinely impressed. “Is this just—some sort of belated ‘happy First Day’ cake, or—?”
Carver snorted. “Unless being a Warden has scrambled my brain, I seem to remember there’s something else that happens in Wintermarch. Tomorrow, in fact.”
“Carver,” Bethany said, scolding.
Cal stared blankly at him for a few seconds before it hit them. “Oh. It’s for me.”
“Did you really think we would come visit you for First Day and ignore the fact that your birthday is a week later?” Bethany asked. “Anyway, I actually learned to bake in the Gallows, of all places. We didn’t have much in the way of good ingredients, but you work with what you can get. Now that I can get the good stuff… and these kitchens are incredible. So much room to work!”
Cal smiled faintly. “You didn’t have to do any of that for me,” they said. “I’m happy just having the two of you here for a bit.”
“I wanted to,” she insisted. “The fact that you’d be out with Merrill today made it easier to surprise you with it, too.”
“Then… does that mean we’re having cake for dinner?”
Bethany laughed and replied, “It’s not done yet! Your hired cook made fish and rice for dinner, if you’ll accept something that’s not cake.”
“I guess,” they said with a laugh. “Fish and rice it is. And I expect cake for breakfast.”
“You drive a hard bargain, but I guess I can make that work,” she teased.
“Do the rest of us get cake for breakfast?”
Cal shot Carver a Look. “Depends on how magnanimous I’m feeling in the morning.”
Bethany snickered. “You might have to bribe them, Carv.”
“With what, exactly? Cal has more coin than the two of us combined!”
“That seems like a you problem.”
Cal could only laugh. To think, in another world, they could’ve had this forever.

1 2 3 4 for the dragon age ask game that isn't the world state one (but u can also do the world state one i will read everything about ur canon girls <3)
Gotcha gotcha <3333
1.What would your Warden generally think of your Hawke and your inquisitor?
Honoria thinks Cal is unserious. Definitely appreciates her levity at times, but can get frustrated at her cousin when her jokes start to grate. But she still loves her deeply since this is one of her few remaining connections to her family outside the Circle.
She's initially a little suspicious of Zara. I have a headcanon that she returned to Ferelden when the Inquisition was in Denerim negotiating removal from Caer Bronach. She definitely sees some of herself in Zara, however, and eventually they became good friends. It helped that Zara convinced Alistair to propose to Honoria despite the court's decade-long hesitancy to put a mage on the throne. (This involved a fun little scheme they concocted where Zara threatened to walk from negotiations and Alistair was going to just let them. Long story. Might do a ficlet one day.) (Bioware can pry a Queen Amell from my cold, dead hands.) Zara and Cullen's son, Lyam, eventually married Honoria and Alistair's daughter, Sophie! So within my canon my first three protagonists are all technically related!
2. What would your Hawke generally think of your warden and your Inquisitor?
Cal loves and respects her cousin greatly. She thought she and Carver were all that remained of the Amell name, so it was like a fresh start when she found out they were related. She definitely thinks Honoria needs to lighten up a little bit, however.
Cal really feels for Zara, since Corypheus was her responsibility first. They became fairly good friends during Cal's involvement with the Inquisition. But she felt a bit of relief it wasn't her they put in charge, and thinks Zara's the better fit.
3. What would your Inquisitor generally think of your Warden and your Hawke?
Zara is more or less in awe of Honoria. She was thirteen when the Fifth Blight ended and had heard the stories of the Circle mage who became Ferelden's savior. She's glad to count her as a friend after ending the Inquisition.
She'd read the copy of The Tale of the Champion that was smuggled into the Ostwick Circle, so she was very familiar with Varric's version of Cal. Zara finds her humor a little juvenile, but welcome considering the darkness of their misadventure.
4. What do they think of each other's love interests?
Starting with Alistair: he and Cal have a similar sense of humor, so they get on very well. She likes that he treated Honoria the same despite being king. Zara finds him strange at times, but she sees similarities to Cullen and likes him well enough.
For Fenris: Honoria initially doesn't know what to think of him. She'd read Varric's book and heard of mistrust of mages, but after a bit of sparring (she's an arcane warrior and uses a sword) they developed a strong respect for one another. She also thinks that he ground Cal. Zara was a little afraid of his reaction following Cal's decision to go to Weisshaupt. But when they met a few years later, she was surprised how grateful he was that Cal survived Adamant. They're friendly after that, and start up a long distance book club over letters with several other friends.
Finally Cullen: there's always a small undercurrent of weirdness between him and Honoria, even after she returns to Ferelden. She's glad he's found someone after so long. She teases him constantly when their kids get engaged. Cal never lets go of a small nugget of distrust of him, but she's grateful that he mellowed out after she left Kirkwall.

Can I hear a little about your OCs? I tried to search about them in your blog but I found it kinda hard to find their lore, do you mind telling me a bit about them?
I don't mind at all! I've been extensively examining and reworking my OCs so I can get back into writing for them. Here's a list and short description for them!
These are the OCs currently in my canons for each series. Any others I come up with tend to be in alternate versions.
Dragon Age
Morgan Walker: Ser Morgan the Mysterious, Morgan is the Hero of Ferelden and slayer of the Archdemon. He is also from our world, having hopped through other worlds before landing in Thedas and anchoring there. He had a son with Morrigan before they amicably separated and Morgan fell for Cullen. Morgan is nurturing and compassionate, but also has a sarcastic side, and enjoys goofing around. - Faceclaim: Sebastian Stan
Freyr Surana: King-Consort Freyr is an elf-blooded mage from the Anderfels living in Kinloch Hold and escaped with Jowan. He fell in love with Alistair over the course of their journey and married him. Studious and diligent, Freyr is also deeply kind and loving, and his purity of heart helped keep the group's spirits up. - Faceclaim: Tom Busson
Cas Shepard: Cassander Shepard was once a powerful biotic and Commander of the Alliance Systems. However, at the end of the Reaper War, he and Morgan traveled to the Crucible and due to their powers, ended up crashing into Thedas. Snarky and cocky, but well-meaning at heart, Cas doesn't have it in him to be mean to anyone who doesn't deserve it. Eventually joins the Inquisition and falls for The Iron Bull - Faceclaim: Chris Evans
Havi Amell: A powerful mage from Kinloch Hold, Havi treats Freyr and Alistair like little brothers and cares for them deeply. He is protective and ruthless in the desire to keep them safe. He also quickly learns martial combat to supplement his skills. He is appointed Teyrn of Gwaren, though spends more time with Alistair and Freyr. - Faceclaim: Jorge Cobian
Mila Cooper: A librarian from our world, Mila is a pacifist and stellar potioneer. Her foreknowledge of events helped her to greatly assist the Kirkwall gang, though she was unable to stop Anders. She works as Varric's editor, and thus deals with all his businesses and secret informants. She is energetic and knowledgable, though can be indecisive. She fell in love with Fenris, and is pregnant by Inquisition. - Faceclaim: Britanny Snow
Cal Hawke: The Champion of Kirkwall, Cal is deeply protective of his family. Though he never wished to be a hero, he took on the mantle, and became Viscount for a brief while. He loves Varric, and is a gentle soul at heart, kind and honest. Though he can be pretty lazy and unmotivated. Does get along with his brother, Carver. - Faceclaim: Henry Cavill
Ava Hawke: Ava is a mage, just like her father, and is far more ruthless. She will do whatever she must to protect her family, and is a powerful blood mage. Despite this, she has fallen for Sebastian and become the Witch-Queen of Starkhaven, with the respect of the former Arishok. Desires the power to keep her siblings safe. - Faceclaim: Katie McGrath
Tash Adaar: A young Qunari child, Tash has been a mage from a young age, and is exceedingly powerful. Personable and cheery, though suffering from a deep-seated fear of abandonment, Tash becomes known as the Child of Andraste and then the Inquisitor, and uses this to his political advantage, proving to have a cunning beyond his years.
Vylandin Mithra: Vylandin hails from a mixed Avvar-Dalish clan in the Frostback Mountains, and is of immense stature, while also using his magic to bolster his physical capabilities. He comes to Haven and is appointed the Dalish Advisor to the Inquisition, and serves as liaison to other clans and non-Andrastian allies. He saves Josephine from attack, and the two ambassadors fall for each other from a place of mutual respect. Vylandin has a fondness for terrible jokes. - Faceclaim: Brock O'Hurn
Jack Theirin: The adopted son of Alistair and Freyr, Jack was born as the son of a royal guard. Upon his death, the two Kings adopted the young lad and made him their heir. They raised him as best they could, the lad having latent magical talent, and he became a princely young man of great moral fiber. He ran from home to help the Inquisition, becoming the personal honor guard of Tash. - Faceclaim: Luke Eisner
Gawain Trevelyan: In Ostwick, when the Mage-Templar war broke out, the residents of the Ostwick Circle refused to fight each other. The Ostwickers fought off bands of rebel mages and roving Templars alike, and soon Gawain Trevelyan, third son of a noble house, came to represent them. This group of Templars and mages coexisted and were invited to the Conclave as a prime example of peace. By a stroke of luck, they were late and missed the explosion. Finds himself romancing Blackwall. Gawain is an academic, but a powerful speaker and leader, and the Justinia Delegation, as they became known, is a powerful ally to the Inquisition. - Faceclaim: Jens de Fries.
Other
Jesse Malkin: A shy and stoic individual, Jesse, in any universe, shines with his intelligence, which is often underestimated due to his physique and handsome appearance. - Faceclaim: Chris Hemsworth
Mordred Wiseman: Intelligent and slightly hedonistic, Mordred, in any universe he appears, is highly skilled with people and friendly, though he can be selfish as well. - Faceclaim: Charlie Gillespie
Xander Holbrook: Xander is the classic example of a knight, honorable and firm. Though he can also be pretty judgemental. In any universe he appears, he is protective, though slightly sarcastic and aggressive. - Faceclaim: Greg Rogstad
Mass Effect
Orion Shepard - The paragon of justice, Orion and his cousin Cassander shared the main bulk of credit for the triumph against the Reapers. Orion, the first human Spectre, became a symbol of truth and honor, and carefully promoted diplomacy wherever possible. Engaged in a poly relationship with Kadan and Garrus. - Faceclaim: Michael Yerger
Ellis Walker - Morgan's father, the two traveled forward in time to the Mass Effect universe, manifesting strange powers. Ellis had traveled between worlds before, but repressed those memories due to abuse from Morgan's mother. With a crippled self-esteem and high anxiety, Ellis did his best to keep his son safe, but nearing the end of the Reaper War, Ellis stayed with his new lover, Steve Cortez, and tragically had no idea what happened to his son Morgan. - Faceclaim: Misha Collins

Happy friday Jay!! Okay I love some Hawke and siblings content, 🥺“I’d come for you. No matter what, when you need me, I will be there.”
whoops I made it sad (I say, like that's not my default setting)
for @dadrunkwriting, here's a lil snippet of the Deep Roads expedition. ;)
Words: 461 Rating: T Warnings: nah
--
Why hadn’t they noticed sooner? Why hadn’t he said anything? Surely, with two mage healers among their small group, one of them would have realized something was amiss.
And yet there they were, desperately funneling every last scrap of magic they had into keeping Carver on his feet. What little hope Anders had been able to provide—other Grey Wardens nearby, Wardens who could potentially save Carver the same way the Hero of Ferelden had been saved—was enough to drive Cal forward. It was a slim chance, and they knew it, but there was no world in which Cal would ever go home without being able to say they’d done everything they possibly could to save Carver.
“We’re close,” Anders said in a low voice, interrupting Cal’s ever-bleaker line of thought. “Let me talk to them first.”
“Do it,” Cal murmured, their shoulders and back aching under the strain of supporting most of Carver’s weight. “Carv.”
He wasn’t fully lucid, hadn’t been since the last time Cal had slept, but he acknowledged them with a faint hum.
“I won’t force you. If you’d rather—”
“No.” His voice was strained, far quieter than it should have been, but at least it hadn’t deserted him entirely. “I won’t ask you to do that.”
“You know what Anders said. You won’t be able to come home.”
“I know.” Carver exhaled, long and slow, but said nothing more.
For a few moments, they were both quiet. Varric had trailed after Anders, granting the two siblings a modicum of privacy that Cal appreciated. In a quiet, but firm voice, Cal said, “I need you to know I’ll come for you. No matter what, if you need me, I’ll be there.”
He made a sound that might have been a cross between a laugh and a cough. “You’d better,” Carver rasped.
Cal wasn’t sure how long they stood there before Anders returned with a single man in the blue and gray of a Warden uniform. It could have been a few seconds, or an hour; in the Deep Roads time had ceased to mean much of anything. “Hm,” the new Warden said, glancing over the two Hawkes. “We can try. It’s the most I can offer.”
“I just ask one thing,” Cal said. “Whatever happens, please send a letter to our mother in Kirkwall. Her name is Leandra. Leandra Amell.”
“If I remember to, I will,” the man said with a decisive nod, then stepped forward and gestured towards Carver. “Give him to me. We’ll do what we can.”
With some reluctance, Cal did so.
And that was it. A few minutes later, Carver and the Orlesian Warden were gone, and all Cal could think was I should have never brought him in the first place.

@true0neutral - Hazel, half-elf cleric
@fauxfire76 - Darvin, human bard/sorcerer
@miaaoi - Froseth, dragonborn monk
@hyperewok1 - Remi, human paladin/warlock
@lindira - Clarity, tiefling rogue/warlock
Marion - Ava, human ranger
Brian - Barnabus, minotaur fighter
Wedding wedding wedding
First thing to cover was Hazel actually picking up Egref-style priestly robes, which resemble a kimono more than anything else. She and Barnabus also met a Tabaxi individual (not generally found on their continent beyond refugees from the Southern Lands, which don’t like Tabaxi much) and a half-elf Academy student working for his study grant who’d already met Remi and was vibrating with excitement over the previous meeting.
The half-elf kid told Hazel about the ‘romantic dramedy’ play chronicling Remi and Alisaie’s relationship to date and showed her the magazine with the review. Hazel went to buy a copy of the magazine and is going to host a trip to see the play in the immediate future.
Alisaie is not going and is facepalming at the whole thing.
Dinner with the Crestwind parents pre-bachelorette parties involved some conversation in which Corri insisted she was going to Have Words with Kreia Bendis about denying Alisaie entry into the Brass Arrows as punishment for something she wasn’t even responsible for. Barnabus was very interested in the concept of timetabling the inevitable wedding altercation. The Scheduled Bar Brawl Incident came up.
The couple exchanged wedding presents, somewhat earlier than Alisaie expected but Remi wanted Alisaie to wear hers on the day. Alisaie has a circlet that does Things (that’s still after being a surprise, to most of the party at least). Remi has a wrist-cuff that, in conjunction with an ‘eldritch’ invocation from Ziriel, will get her into her armour quite fast wherever it is.
The group split up a little afterwards. Corri and Amell Crestwind went off to see if they could find a couple of tickets to That Play. Remi, Froseth, Darvin and Barnabus went to a sort of rock / grunge bar, drank beer and the occasional whiskey, stopped at ‘somewhat buzzed’ and Remi won four gold off of Darvin at the upstairs pool table.
Alisaie, Clarity, Ava and Hazel, on the other hand, had a couple of errands first. Hazel wanted to practice getting into the Fancy Vestments (with Clarity’s help) so Alisaie took them to the beauticians’ place where she was having her hair done on the day, and her dress stored until the day. There was a lot of oooooh-ing over the dress, and then something of a struggle to make a nervous-about-impending First Major Priestly Ceremony Hazel stand still.
Then Alisaie gave Hazel the promised ten-minute flying tour of Egref. The awe of that did finally put somewhat paid to Hazel’s fear of heights. Basically, pretty.
After that, all four of them went to an upmarket cocktail bar called the Nightingale’s Wing where they had a couple of very good drinks and Alisaie explained that the dance-custom for the People’s pair-bonding ceremonies didn’t entirely work unless all parties ‘spoke’ the gesture-based language of the People, and even then didn’t entirely work unless both parties had someone around who had known them since childhood.
Next morning, no one required Lesser Restoration for the hangover! Alisaie left before everyone else got up to get prettied up; Corri and Amell came by for breakfast so that Corri could help Remi get into her military formalwear. Polly of the Riddler’s Stump got Darvin a pain-au-chocolat type thing specially because he missed out on the breakfast pastries last time because Bunny. Darvin had a lot to react to favourably - pastry, Remi in her formalwear, Hazel looking like Real Formal Cleric...
They bundled into a trolley and headed to the Conundrum Pavilion, where Cal Etielle and Hial Fortinbras were already waiting. Vieve Alled, Bahir Zet and Kreia Bendis turned up in short order, and there was ... a prelude to shouting but Corri kept her promise. Then Alisaie turned up and Remi’s reaction was priceless.
The ceremony went well. Hazel was more than a little nervous but chilled out towards the end. Corri and Ava said lovely things about Remi and Alisaie respectively. Remi and Alisaie said lovely things about each other, and Alisaie, not wanting to give up all of her chosen surname but wanting some part of Remi’s name to stay with her, has now taken the name ‘Featherwind’. Froseth drew on the elements at the appropriate moments in the ceremony. Corri cried. Barnabus also cried. Darvin had been trying not to cry but when Barnabus started blubbing, Darvin followed suit.
We had to stop there because we were already running over time but we’re going right back to the precise ‘end of the ceremony’ moment next session so that Remi can Do A Thing, apparently.
