Hey there, what do we think about Nicola’s IG post for Camilla’s bday. It’s a collage of 4 pictures taken by paparazzi of her and Camilla last year and in the caption she said something like remember when the paparazzi took photos and you protected me by covering my face. I feel like that is for sure throwing shade at a certain someone. Like she could’ve chosen any photo with Camilla. She has sooo many, why that one and why this caption. Also the way the photos were stacked looked like A’s recent soho house photos with her friends.

I feel like Nicola’s being very cryptic and sending messages through her posts recently including the scrabble board. I don’t know what that was about exactly but I feel like she posted it for a purpose and the person who that was aimed at would understand. I dunno I might be over analyzing but I think we should paying closer attention to her posts.

I also feel like that means we are headed in a positive direction because it means she cares about Luke and feels protective over him and is letting everyone know, even if there is currently a bit of tension between them. Not saying there is tension but just a feeling that she’s not very happy with how he’s handling things at the moment.

What do we all think?

Ok I just reblogged a post about this, but I am going to add this (and a lot of this is just based on my gut feelings/opinions based off of everything I've seen, so these are all just THEORIES):

First, I want to start by saying we will NEVER know exactly what anyone's SPECIFIC intentions are on SM posts unless the publisher publicly clarifies it.

HOWEVER, N is VERY intentional on SM. So is A. L... not so much (I've known a lot of dudes like him who just don't really care to put a lot of energy/thought into SM, EVEN if they have it and utilize it). So I get the impression this might be the case for him as well. Intentionality takes thought and energy, so I do agree that N and A's recent SM posts are VERY intentional, but what those exact intentions are, again, we will probably never EXACTLY know. What/who is the common denominator between these two women though? L. Sooooo, I feel pretty confident that he is at the root of most of these more "cryptic" posts/stories on N and A's SM.

Now, normally, I would say WTH is a 37 y/o woman doing playing petty and shady SM games with a 23 y/o woman that wants the attention?? Well... I think SM is the only way for them to communicate with each other, and these two women have a LOTT to say to each other (which totally makes sense if ANY of our theories on L/N or the PR tour/papgate/A are accurate). Which is why I do think a lot of N's recent SM activity has been shade, but more directly towards A. Since the London premiere, I personally think L/N are dealing with their complex feelings over everything in private mainly because people are analyzing EVERYTHING they do.

If you have read my other theories on this blog, I don't think L/N are in a terrible place rn (but are very likely having to work through a LOT of complex things in private). I am sure they BOTH aren't happy about how this all publicly played out. And as I have mentioned, I think EVERYONE in this situation has made some mistakes (some more than others though). Please look through my "timelines" posts if you have any more questions on my thoughts on this.

I have also said this before, but I will say it again. N AND A WILL NEVER, NEVERRR BE FRIENDS. Based off of everything I have seen and know about these two women, they have VERY little in common (and A is very insecure and envious of N). Therefore, these two women are probably NEVER going to talk alone face-to-face (I personally don't think A has the cajones to address anything with N to her face). A (based on her public image and actions and everything else we know about her) seems like such a selfish, two-faced mean girl (just my opinion). N appears to be the opposite of that, and I believe would be more inclined to address things with A face-to-face. Since that is not an option though, N has utilized SM to share her real opinions/feelings with A. And yes, I do believe N is protective of L (BECAUSE THEY REALLY LOVE EACH OTHER). I don't have any solid proof on this, it is just a gut feeling, but I think a lot of N's most recent "cryptic" posts/stories are hinting that L/N's connection is not going to be ruptured by immature, selfish, and insecure behavior from A. And I think that is a really good sign for us Lukola fans.

Lastly, who again is the common denominator here? L! Could he have handled this WHOLE situation better? Yes! I've mentioned before though, he got ANNIHILATED on SM after Papgate. And he has been getting hate on SM from people in the fandom for years (him AND N already had to leave Twitter because of all the hate they were receiving). Therefore, I believe he is FED UP, but also TRYING to stay engaged just a LITTLE bit on SM. Yes, N has also gotten a lot of hate on SM, but she and L are very different people, and I get the sense that she is able to navigate the hate a little better than L. Therefore, L has taken a major step back from his public engagement online, and to be really honest, I don't believe he will be returning to his typical public SM activity anytime soon. Now, what other people AROUND him post on SM, I think that has a lot more to do with THOSE INDIVIDUALS than L himself (again, just my opinion). How aware/involved L is with any of these posts/stories that adjacent people in his life are posting, we will probably never know. L is a chronic people pleaser though, and I got the sense from what I have seen that he is not very good at setting firm boundaries with people in his life (which likely played a role in SOME of the SM activity we have seen recently from adjacent people in his life). I think there is a lot of self-reflection going on for him at the moment in terms of determining HOW he wants to move forward in his career and HOW he wants the public to see him. I think he is still figuring it out...

Anywhooo, like I have mentioned multiple times, the whole situation seems to be REALLY messy (and I am almost certain that both L/N didn't want all of this to play out on such a public stage). And we will never know the full story of what was/is going on BTS for everyone. However, a lot of the recent posts/stories from N have been very interestingggg 🤔

I was not prepared for the interior of this 1949 home, b/c it seemed too early for the mid-century look (unless it was updated in the 70s). It's in El Cajon, California, has 3bds, 2ba, & is listed for $899K. Especially enjoy the kitchen.

I don't like this at all- it's the front entrance. Who wants to enter into the laundry room? Imagine opening the door of your new house for guests and there's the dryer sitting there?

Then you enter the kitchen. I wonder who came up with this floor plan.

It's kind of a large galley style, but it really needs brightening. Between the lights, dark wood, the brick and the blue, it seems cold.

There's a wine holder and what looks like it could be a mini bar.

A small pantry.

Seriously, this home had to have been updated in the 70s. What a big built-in display unit. The living room is very large and is also meant to be part dining room.

This first bedroom is off the laundry room. It's kind of long and narrow.

Bedroom #2 is about the same size.

Bath #1 is a shower room that's shared by both bedrooms.

This room that leads into the primary bedroom has an outdoor entrance- that smaller building in front of the house, but you can also access it from inside the main house. So, the primary has it's own little sitting room.

See the entrance on the left? That's the primary bedroom. I guess it could be useful to have a separate entrance.

It's large, and has a big stone corner fireplace.

There's the entrance to the en-suite.

The bath isn't bad, it has a jetted tub and a shower.

Plus there's also a walk-in closet.

The outdoor grounds are pretty nice. It has a covered patio and an inground pool.

Also on the property is this nice screened in pavillion. It would be great for entertaining.

There's plenty of room. The property measures 1,523 sq. ft. and there's also a 3 car garage.

You can see that the pool is separate from the house and is located behind the garage.

The drive up to house- I wonder who owns the animals. Looks like a mixture of several kinds of farm animals - what delightful neighbors.

DAAAMN, I FINALLY FINISHED IT!!1!!! fan msm island - Night Island. I think it'll just stay at the concept stage. song - Sleepwalk-Forrest Day (i think it may be cover...or remix. idk).

Let's take a quick look at the canonical monsters that are present here. I would really like to cram the natural ones in here, but they just don't go with the song itself.. That's why they're magical. -one-element: Clackula, Floot Fly, Fluoress. -double element: Osstax, Knucklehead. -triple-element: Mushaboom. -Erthereal: Ghazt. now the most interesting and delicious part: fan monsters. I will tell you about them quickly, too, without unnecessary words.

Orbat - one-element monster of the Night Island. It makes truly heavenly sounds. It sounds like Gob. while she sings (i can say that, right?….) a circle on her stomach and her eyes begin to light up. instrument: pipe organ. Meteoro - He uses vocals during his part.. Well, how are the vocals.. just purring/mumbling.. something like that. Sunstroke - just rams its paws on the spheres around it. Instrument: Cajon (percussion). Silky - MY FAVORITE. ahem.. This kid is literally the foundation. base. He plays the whole song in the background, using his silk threads and bow. Instrument: violin. Violosker - this cat can play on his long whiskers and on your nerves. I'm sorry for the stupid pun. he makes a long and drawn-out sound during his playing. it can be heard mainly in the background (very good at duet with a Silky) instrument: cello. Howl - a sad guy for life. His song is more like crying and howling than the hooting that other owls make. That's why he's called that. Dragolight - a dragon resembling those in Chinese mythology. when his turn comes, his crests, eyes and stripes on his body flash with a bright lemon light, with a distinct sound. (and it also looks like a watermelon). Instrument: electro-synthesizer. Sello & Dart - these are the ones here.. What's their name.. Vocalists?????? Singers?? uh, Werdos. they are the main stars here: they sing the lyrics of the song.

That's it.. heh. I don't think I'll come up with another fan island later, despite the fact that it was a very interesting experience. with the monsters that we already have, I may still publish something. (if u had questions - ask always open)

Chapter 2 Excerpt

Delgado needs the Legacy like he needs air. When he indulges himself in the pirate captain Verity Blanche’s loathsome little game of give and take, he finds that it might just be worth it if he can achieve his dream through her.

Excerpt:

“Better put that scarf over your mouth,” Verity says as she pulls her own out, covering everything but her silver snake eyes.

He selects four of his crew mates to take with him. Ripley, who makes up for his lack of personality with a hell of a sniping skill. Murdock, a stealth scoundrel who is quirky but loyal. Ness, who is a little trigger happy but avoids the friendly fire, and on the occasion that she doesn’t, it’s usually the weakest link anyway. Last but not least is Maeble. A bounty hunter turned pirate. They can crush just about anything with their fists but their knack for tracking always sets Delgado’s mind at ease in case anyone were to get lost.

They suit up and follow his lead, leaving the other half of the crew to man the ship in his absence.

The landing ramp lowers and dust swirls, wind skinning and scraping their face with heat and sand. Verity stretches out her gloved hand and Del instinctively grasps it. She’s not going to leave him behind in this fucking storm. But he doesn’t take the hands of his crew. They are on their own.

The visibility is terrible. Even while holding Verity’s hand, he can barely make out the edge of her boot.

“How far?” He shouts at Verity.

“Not far!”

They trudge through the sand and storm, the monotony of pushing against the elements starting to wear on him. Of all the locations on this planet for her to settle down, she picked the fucking desert. Though, he supposes, the options on Strix I are limited. Either freeze your cajones off in the mountains or roast them down in the desert.

“Ey, boss! We got something on the scanners!”

Del exchanges Verity’s hand for his gun. “Alright everybody, stay close! Eyes sharp! Be ready for anything!”

He hopes his crew can hear him over the roar of the rising winds. The storm is picking up quick and they need to pick up the pace. A strange hiss and smack filters through the din of the storm and Delgado whips his head to the left, eyes scrutinizing the layered haze.

“Fuck, watch out for the arachnoflies. They come up on you fast! And their bite stings like a bitch!” Verity shouts as she backs up against him.

The others gather in a similar fashion, pairing up back to back.

The insects swarm them from all sides. Ranging from large to massive. Not a single one is squishable like the occasional heatleech that slips onto his ship.

He loads a round of bullets into the first set. One crawls right up on him, its iridescent fly eyes inches from his face. He yanks the knife from his belt. With a heavy handed jab, the arachnofly shrieks, its spider-like legs flailing as it reels up. Stabbing and twisting his blade into it again and again, it stills. But the next one crawls over its body, larger and baring its fangs.

“Del, look out!” Verity tugs him out of the way as the arachnofly snaps at the air.

Have you heard of Elebits? (Eledees for all the PALs out there)

It's a cool game about capturing little light creatures because you're playing as a kid with mostly absent parents (because they spend so much time at their jobs working with the light creatures).

It has a soundtrack that I really like, that kinda comes in 2 flavors

Vibey Synth Stuff and Darker Bluesy Stuff

And I very much enjoy these two flavors, so I'll be listing some of my favorite songs (or maybe all of them) from this soundtrack (composed by Naoyuki Sato and Michiru Yamane)

I recently crashed at my old college friend’s place during a brief San Diego visit. This book was hanging around a table or shelf, and I picked it up for the look of it, but immediately felt something familiar in the author’s name. “Adam Gnade? Wasn’t that the radio station guy…that guy who gave us access to the TV studio?” [edit: No, it was not. That was a different dirty-blondish Adam with musical enthusiasms and hungover eyes.] Flashbacks of two freshman nerds broadcasting Pulp and Blues Explosion videos, interviews with random friends, and Titanic, after midnight to maybe a handful of dorm-dwellers. My friend suggested that my correct pronunciation of the name most likely affirmed the sameness of author and college radio guy [edit: It did not]. The author photo was confirmation proved memory’s false and elastic nature.  None of this is important. I managed to read the first chapter before hunger and nostalgia attacked and we went wandering down El Cajon boulevard, which in my 20+ year absence had grown slick and neon and unfamiliar, hotels and high rise apartments and restaurants pustulating the landscape, but none of this is important because we had really delicious spicy tofu larb or something like larb, and pineapple sour beers at a Thai street food place, and the next day I walked from North Park to Hillcrest to eat at Bread and Cie, where I betrayed my own nostalgia and impulse to just order a slice of fig and anise and a slice of olive bread with butter and a pot of Earl Grey, instead ordering a bougie smoked salmon sandwich and a stupid puffy cappuccino. It was fine and none of this matters, but I felt so fat with disappointment I had to walk past the old Che kid apartment above The Loft (which seemingly never tired of playing Cher’s “Life After Love,” and perhaps never has), where somebody’s friend would leave a black garbage bag full of Bread and Cie bread on the concrete patio after all his night shifts. Even though the patio now has a fancy wrought iron fence around it, I could see weird posters and candles shoved into wine bottles on the window sills, superficial signs of interesting inhabitants, and I smiled up into the tiny windows of the $150 a month closet I’d lived in, where the cats would ninja-kick through the weak wooden slats of my sliding door and once or twice relieved themselves on my bed which was not a bed, which was two stacked egg crate foam pads. Why didn’t I buy a mattress? I spent way too much of my early twenties without an actual mattress, and I can’t remember why I was that cheap. None of this is important. Especially in regards to this book, which I bought and quickly devoured, finishing it on Christmas Day in the worst place to finish a good book with this much food-nostalgia—the Hertz rental car office at Newark Airport, where I was stuck for 2 hours with only a day-old peanut butter and honey sandwich in my purse (#momlife) to sustain me. You pretty much need to be reading this book in your favorite taqueria/diner/dive with your mouth full if you don’t want to hate yourself and your situation. 

I guess what I’m really getting at, what "After Tonight, Everything Will Be Different,” is really getting at, is that all of this is important and all of this matters. These moments you live and forget about until someone like Adam Gnade revives them through familiar or relatable experiences...childhood bliss and trauma...friends of the charming dirtbag variety...rumination on films, books, albums, family, dirtbag friends, meals (especially meals) and so on. The novel (I had to check the back cover several times to confirm it was a novel, so much of it feels like memoir, like personal essay, but maybe that’s me projecting “radio guy” assumptions onto the narrator) will fuel your appetite and your nostalgia such that you’ll go meandering down your own food holes, your own sordid and beautiful youthful experiences, and that’s a hell of a thing. There’s an amazing line about nostalgia that I sadly cannot quote because I gave the book to my sister-in-law, but you should go dig it up yourself.

Too Smart (Ch.2)

After a quick exchange of numbers, Cyno is now Collei's history tutor. Much Tighnari's annoyance, there's something about the dwarf that caught his attention. How pretty his eyes are. Ch. 1 | Ch. 3

Drums were echoing in the dim-lit studio and it smelled of sweat and smoke. Loud chattering from familiar voices filled the little corridor as Cyno walked in. "Eyyy! Cyno boy!" Scara twirled his drumsticks around his fingers, getting the attention of everyone else inside. Venti was in front of a mic and Xiao was busy tuning his guitar. "Did aquickie? " Scara teased with an okay sign and inserted his index finger. 

"Good to know you're feral today." He passed by Kazuha and Heizou who were playing with a cajon.  Dropping his bag on the floor and immediately headed towards a slumpy bean bag, lying down lazily. "Haa~ But I did go to his house."

"What? Immediately?!" Venti stopped his vocal warm up and turned to Cyno with glee. Xiao turned his head to his friend while still tuning his instrument. "I think that's illegal Cy."

"So it was a quickie." Scara rested his back against the wall, grinning at Cyno. "You could say that."

Keep reading"NO WAY. WITHTHE TIGHNARI?" Shock was painted all over on Venti's face and it made Cyno crack up. "Of course not." Cyno brought his arm to cover his eyes. Remembering Tighnari's breathtakingly beautiful appearance. His hair, lips, figure, eyes? Everything. Cyno finds it perfect.

"He's fantasizing."

"Bet."

Heizou and Kazuha commented from the other side of the studio, hopping their merry way to fawn over the star of the night. "I bumped into his little sister on the way here. She insisted I come over to her house for snacks. That's it."  His friends gathered around him like a camping activity, listening to his story. "Aaaand?" Venti tilted his head, still fixed on Cyno. "And I got his sister's number." Venti facepalmed hard enough to leave a mark. "Aren't you supposed to get thebrother's number?" Xiao's eyes were twitchy.

"I will soon. I get to tutor his little sister anyway." Cyno smirked at him. "So you bumped into his sister, his sister dragged you to their house, you got food, and somehow you're now giving his sister lessons?" Scara, still playing with his sticks, looks at Cyno with a brow raised. "Yep. I'll still be on time for band practice. Your main guitarist won't leave you my lil' Kuni~" Cyno teased him, puckering his lips. Scara clearly showed his disgust and Venti laughed. "Then all good! Now, let's start." Venti went on his feet and the rest of the members went to positions. Cyno got up and was ready before his phone buzzed.

Unknown Number:  Hi! It's me, Collei (o^▽^o) Thank you for saving me earlier. I will never forget it. Also, if you're serious about the history tips and all, you really don't have to but I'd greatly appreciate it  ｡ﾟ(TヮT)ﾟ｡

Cyno can't believe it. His little sister wants him to come back. Realizing this would make him closer to Tighnari, Cyno replied:

Cyno:  Hi Collei. No problem. The tutor thing still stands. Just tell me when I should help you.

"Cyno! Position. NOW." Scara yelled. "Yeah yeah yeah. Chill." And it wasn't long until Collei replied.

Collei: Is tomorrow okay?  (¬‿¬ )

Cyno: Tomorrow it is.

The deal is set. Tomorrow, he gets to come back to that wonderful home where his prince resides. Cyno can't help but grin as his excitement rises. "All right. In 3... 2...-"

Half of the day had passed and Tighnari was just finishing his notes from the last physics lesson. "So did you do it?" Nilou, who's head was resting on her knuckles, grinned at him. "Maybe, maybe not." Tighnari just kept writing, not batting an eye towards Nilou. "Nariiiiii~" She flopped all over her desk. "I won't read it if you did! I just wanna knoooow." Tighnari went silent for a while, turning his focus on what he's doing. Nilou can only hear his pen scraping against his notebook. "I did." Finally dropping his pen to stretch his arms and crack his knuckles.

Nilou turned her head to face him, grinning like an idiot. "Sooo? How did you feel?" Tighnari exhaled after cracking his neck and looked back at Nilou with a straight face. "Nothing."

Nilou flailed her arms and went back to misery. "Was I supposed to feel something?" Tighnari shook his head as he rested his elbows on his desk, his fingers supporting his chin.

"Hey." Some walked around him. It was Cyno who had his hair tied up neatly. His bang covering his other eye.Come to think of it, he has beautiful red eyes. "Collei texted me last night. For the tutor?" Tighnari caught himself staring at his eye. "Uuh, sure." Was all he could say.God damn it Collei. Am I not enough?

"Then I'll go with you after classes?" Cyno smiled as he put his hands in his pockets. Tighnari only managed a nod before Cyno takes off, now exposing Nilou's dirty grin. "Whaaat was thaaaaat Nariiiii~?"

She knows Tighnari harbors all things frustrating against Cyno. He sighed and slid down his chair. "Ugh. He kinda saved Collei yesterday from an accident and she took him home as payment. Now he's her history tutor." He wanted to bang his head against his table. "Hehe. The more you hate, the more you love Nari."

That quote sent shivers down his spine. God fuck. No. Nilou was laughing at his misery. People do want to see him suffer this way don't they. "It's the last year, Nari. Maybe you can be friends with him. To make it more, worth remembering."

"It would be worth remembering if I place on top of the ranks." Tighnari can't hide his annoyance. "Why not ask him to help you in some subjects. Those you're not number 1?" Her words felt like needles piercing his strings. "I can study by my own. I just need more time and peace."

"Or try observing how he works. Maybe you can pick it up quickly and then you'll swoop the number 1 spot from him." She casually commented. Hmm, that could work. Tighnari was the type to keep notes and keywords in subjects he finds hard. "That would mean I have to see him more often." He was gritting his teeth, sinking his fingers  into his skin. For better grades. He will.

The bells rang and they day is over. Cyno hurried to Tighnari who was fixing his things. "Tell Collei I said hello." Nilou waved goodbye to Tighnari and went out together with Ayaka. Leaving him with Mr. Dwarf. "Hey, ready to go?" He let out a sigh after he zipped his messenger bag. "Yep. Let's go." And thus begins Tighnari's painful way home. Alone. With Cyno.

"Does Collei want anything? A snack?" Cyno asked as he tailed Tighnari. "Hm? You don't have to. I'll make you guys snacks."

"Then a drink. It's on me." Cyno hurried so he could match Tighnari's pace. "You really REALLY, don't have to Cyno." His brows are now getting twitchy. Cyno showed a little pout, much to Tighnari's annoyance. Then his phone buzzed.

Is the world against Tighnari today? Surely. Since yesterday, his misfortune kept flowing. He turned his phone off with a heavy sigh. "Good news." He turned to Cyno with a straight face, "We're getting snacks." Cyno chuckled. "Why the sudden change of mind? Did Collei ask for one?" Oh if he could only just get violent right now. "Yes. We're dropping by the nearest cafe. She loves the chocolate slices there." Tighnari tried to keep it together, exhaled and walked.

"You're quite the dotting big brother, aren't you?"

"Is that bad?"

"No. It just looks cute."

Cute? Is Cyno hitting on him right now? "What are you onto?" Tighnari glared at him. "Nothing. Just cute." Cyno chuckled. Tighnari would've already pushed him off the streets. BUT NO.I'm a decent human. I'm a decent human. 'This is for Collei.' Tighnari kept repeating to keep himself calm.

They arrived at Puspa Cafe and fortunately, the cafe was less crowded than usual. Cyno went ahead to the cashier to order a chocolate slice. "What's yours?" He nudged Tighnari. "Uhh, Iced Americano." He somehow stuttered. "That, and a hot latte. Oh and two of that danish pastry with berries." Tighnari was gazing out the window, getting a little out of it. There's always that something that makes his mind calm whenever he's in a cafe. Especially if it was a rainy day.

"You sure you're drinking all that? Gonna pull an all-nighter?" His icy blue eyes stared at him, golden locks complimenting the color.

"No," Tighnari giggled. "I always love a good cup of black coffee. Don't you?"

"I had my fair share of black coffee. Just not on my list." He shook his head, turning away from Tighnari. "Are you gonna study literature? You've been hitting B's lately." His once warm tone turned cold in an instant.

"I- Yeah..." Tighnari can't help but frown. He's been spending a lot of time, but it still couldn't help him maintain straight A's. "Well. I shouldn't be eating much of your time. You should be studying."

"W-wait!"

"Tighnari? You okay?" Cyno's voice jolted him back to his senses. "Oh. Sorry. Let me help you." Tighnari quickly took the paper bag from Cyno who's also holding a paper bag containing their drinks. ' No time for those thoughts.' Tighnari looked forward and opened the door with Cyno following him.

They arrived at Tighnari's house shortly. Like usual, it was still empty, but Tighnari couldn't clean the whole house while having a guest. "Collei said she'll be late. She should be here in... 2 hours." He walked to the kitchen after he placed his bag down. "It'll be fine." Cyno followed him and stopped by the breakfast bar. "Here. Have a pastry." Cyno slid the wrapped pastry towards Tighnari. "You don't ha-"

"C'mon. It's my littlenice-to-meet-you gift." Cyno opened his mouth and took a bite. "If you insist." He had a bite and Puspa didn't disappoint. Everything in there is good. Too good that he had to stop Collei and himself from going there everyday. "So, Tighnari, you're the eldest?" Cyno asked him out of the blue. "Mhm." He was nibbling on his pastry. "Hmm," Cyno nodded, "And what do you do in your leisure time?" It's like an interrogation. Tighnari swallowed. "What's this, an interview?" He narrowed his eyes.

"No, no. Just that we're graduating and this is the first time we interacted." Cyno's right. Tighnari is the type to leave in a flash once the bell rings and Nilou would always bring him wherever at school as well. They are inseparable. "Fair point. I study in my leisure time." Tighnari took a napkin from the dispenser to wipe his lips and sliding the dispenser towards Cyno. "Don't you get overloaded with too much information?" Tighnari felt like this is a job interview. "Sometimes. When I do, I tend to my plants." His eyes turned to the little potted plants visible in the kitchen. "Most adorable." 

"What?" Tighnari was sure he heard it.

"It's impressive! No wonder you're the top at Biology classes." Cyno smiled at him.

"My turn to ask then."

"Shoot."

"How did you manage to excel at most of the subjects?" Tighnari realizes that he was supposed toobserve, not ask him blatantly, but screw that.

"I just do advanced readings. Memorize key words and I guess that's about it."

His answer was sweet and short. "But that's how I do it. Why can't I perfect everything?" Tighnari sounds baffled. "Maybe you're mind's overloaded. Sometimes it shuts down when you need it the most." Cyno took a sip from his latte. "Breaks are mandatory and I think you need some of it."

"I can't. Okay? I have to keep studying." Tighnari's voice is getting a little agitated. The room fell silent for a bit until Cyno broke the noise. "Why not relax with me for a bit. Hm?"

"What?" Tighnari's mind was running. ' Relax? How exactly? Is this man onto something?' Cyno went to get his bag. Tighnari's eyes are locked on him.'Is he gonna murder me?'

"Do you know Genius Invocation TCG?" Cyno was running through his belongings. 

Huh? "Yeah. Why?"

"Nice. Help me test this new deck I built." Cyno, who's eyes are glistening with joy, pulled his deck out from his bag. "We can play until Collei arrives." He smiled at him happily while Tighnari was expecting for the worse. "All right. But in return, you're gonna tell me all the details on how you study. Wait here. I'll get my deck." Tighnari sighed and went up to his room to get his deck.

As he returned, he saw Cyno near his potted plant by the window. "Oh. Sorry. I think this little guy wants the other side to get sunshine."

"Didn't your parents tell you it's bad manners to fiddle with things that don't belong to you?" Tighnari made his way back to his tool and laid his deck in front of him.

"They did. They also taught me to care for those in need." He smiled smugly and boy, does Tighnari wanna strangle him. Once Cyno had his deck ready, Tighnari held his cards, only revealing his brown and teal eyes. "Alright. One game."

Time flew quickly and Collei just got home to his brother, completely focused that he had his hair tied up. Across him was Cyno who's biting his thumb, clearly churning gears. "Uhh, you guys okay?"

"Yep." They both answered in unison, not averting their gaze. "Uh huh. Nii, did Cuilein have her treats already?"

"Shit." Tighnari jolted. "I already did when you were upstairs." Cyno was still staring at their match while his now free hand was playing with a purring Cuilein. "Oh. She likes you already~" She clasped her hands together in glee. "I'm so sorry for making you wait, Cyno-nii. I'll just go and get changed then we can begin."

"Mhm. Take your time!" He nodded. Collei rushed upstairs to changed. It was deafening silence downstairs that it made Collei worried thinking that some sort of bet could be in play. Then she heard Tighnari cheering his heart out. "2-1! I won!" Collei smiled as she heard her brother shouting his victory. Tighnari didn't had much fun like these in a long time and Collei missed this side of his.

She went downstairs and Cyno looks tired, but there's a smile painted on his face. Once his eyes saw Collei, he gestured at her to sit beside him so they could start. "I heard from your brother that you like chocolate slices so I bought you one." Cyno then turned to Tighnari who just transferred the cake slice to a plate. "Here. What do you want for dinner?" He laid down the plate in front of Collei.

"Mmm... What would you like to have for dinner, Cyno-nii?"

'WHY HIM AGAIN?'

"Hmm, pasta?" Cyno looked at Tighnari. "I guess we can do pasta. Pesto." Tighnari turned his back at the breakfast bar to start preparing for dinner. "Ughh, greens again?" Collei whined. "You need it." Her big brother replied flatly. "True. Besides, you're gonna need a lot of good brain juices for our lesson today. Show me your class outline."

For once, Tighnari was (happy) okay that Cyno sided with him on this one. Collei was hard to feed at times, but he made sure she got the proper diet. While he was busy in the kitchen, Tighnari was still able to listen to their tutor session. As much as he hates to admit it, Cyno is good with history. Heck, he's the high score Tighnari is trying to beat in class. He still kinda feels hurt that Collei didn't ask for his help, but to be rational, Cyno is the best option for this. He's clearly in his element.

"Alright. Wrap up you two. Dinner's ready." Tighnari raised his voice from the kitchen. "Mmkaay..." Collei sounded like she ran a mile. "Info overload?" Tighnari appeared, holding their plates and utensils. Collei hummed and nodded her head. "You did well. Just remember the keywords. And for the dates-"

"Remember them like birthdays..." Collei cut Cyno off with her last braincell for the day.

"Good." Cyno lightened up Collei's mood. "Brain won't work if you don't eat." Tighnari placed the bowl of pasta and pesto sauce on the table and the three of them had a simple yet lovely meal.

"Alright. I need to go. Thanks for the meal Tighnari." Cyno got up to his feet. The three of them are stuffed and cozy after a good dinner. "Thanks a ton Cyno-nii!" Collei followed Cyno to the door with Tighnari. "Of course. Tell me your score once you got it, okay?" Collei nodded happily and turned to her big brother. "I'll go clean up." And Collei went in, leaving Tighnari and Cyno alone. "Thanks again, for, you know." Tighnari shrugged towards Collei's direction. "It's alright. I enjoy tutors. Collei's a diligent girl." Cyno let his hair loose, gazing at Tighnari. "You still didn't tell me your study hacks though." Tighnari crossed his arms, his eyes finding its way to Cyno's.

"Are you also asking for a tutor session with me?"

"I'd rather get one from Layla." Cyno struck a nerve without knowing.

"Hey, her sleep walk method is useful though."

"You actually tried it?" Tighnari never believed in such stories of Layla being able to functionextremely well while sleeping. "I didn't notice you actually tried that in class."

"Were you observing me?" It was too dark for Tighnari to decipher Cyno's expression, but he is definitely smiling as if he found a secret.

But honestly, Cyno was right. Tighnari got too fixated at times due to his frustrations. Cyno wasn't spending enough time studying like him, yet his grades are consistently high. Once he thought Cyno could be hiding a cheat code.

"N-no! Why would I?" Good thing Cyno wasn't looking his way anymore, because Tighnari is a blushing mess.'Why am I flaming???' Tighnari berates himself silently.

"I'm joking." Cyno laughed. "I wouldn't mind though. If you asked for a session." He smiled at him, "I'll see you tomorrow."

Tighnari was baffled. How dare he mock him by saying he can learn from Cyno himself? Before Tighnari could react, Cyno figure got farther away from.'Great. Just. Great.'

If Ye Are Prepared . . .

It began about 1:00 PM on a Tuesday.  My husband and I were preparing to take our usual taco run to Hesperia for Taco Tuesday, when I noticed the cloud smoke that had appeared above our house.  Other observers called it a “mushroom cloud” over our community of Wrightwood.  I went outside and took a picture because it was an unusual color and had appeared rather suddenly. We had been monitoring the Line Fire that started in Highland and had moved up the mountains towards Running Springs, Arrowhead, and Big Bear -  not too far from us. But the fire had not been moving in our direction.  I checked the reports to see if a new fire had started nearer to Wrightwood.  The Bridge Fire seemed to be closest, but the reports showed that it was still miles away.  So, my husband and I went to get our taco lunch.  And going all the way to Hesperia also meant doing a bit of grocery shopping as we were out of a few essentials like milk and bread. 

On the way down, at the intersection of Hwy 2, which is the main road to Wrightwood, and Hwy 138 which travels perpendicular to Hwy 2 and led to Interstate 15 in Cajon Pass, there was smoke pouring up from West Cajon Valley and traveling up Hwy 2.  We wondered where it could be coming from but decided it was probably a product of the fires on the other side of the pass.  Hwy 138 goes over the Interstate and up into those mountains.

When we came out of the market at about 2:30 PM, the South side of the Victor Valley and the San Bernardino Mountains were covered with clouds of smoke.  There were great plumes of smoke pouring off the tops of the mountains on the East Side of Cajon Pass.  My husband and I stopped to take pictures.

Toward the pass was nothing but smoke clouds.  But toward Victorville and North on I-15, it was essentially clear.  However, the wind was quickly moving the smoke in that direction.  And the source seemed to be the San Bernardino Mountains not the San Gabriel Mountains where the Bridge Fire was burning.

When we started home, we were seeing conditions we had never seen before in Wrightwood during any other wildfire we had experienced.  Even the Sheep Fire that started on the edge of town and ravaged the landscape on Highway 2 below our community didn’t produce this much smoke.  And the smoke had a distinct red cast to it. We took photos out of the front window of our car as we drove up the highway.  Soon we were inside the cloud of red smoke and ash.  It certainly had an otherworldly feel as we drove home.  And it seemed much later than the 4:00 PM it actually was when we arrived home.  All the streetlights and business signs were lit.  People had their nighttime headlights on.  And when we opened our car door, we were greeted by the chirping of the crickets who thought it was night already.  We were surrounded by smoke and ash that can only be described as “mists of darkness” that shielded us from the light of the sun.

Ironically, the following Sunday in Sunday School our teacher talked about the mists of darkness in the world that can lead us away from the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  These mists of darkness are described in the Book of Mormon as, “the temptations of the devil, which blindeth the eyes, and hardeneth the hearts of the children of men, and leadeth them away into broad roads, that they perish and are lost.”  (1 Nephi 12:17).

And she shared a quote from our prophet, Russell M. Nelson to help us navigate the mists of darkness in our lives. “Here is my promise. Nothing will help you more to hold fast to the iron rod than worshipping in the temple as regularly as your circumstances permit. In the end Wrightwood was spared any major destruction. Although no evacuation warning came, by 5:00 PM there was a mandatory evacuation order issued for our entire community. As we left, most of us feared the worst as did many of the responding firefighters. According to the official reports, it was probably only the cooperation and prior preparation of our community that saved our homes. It wasn’t the fire we knew about and could see in front of us that ultimately almost destroyed our community. It was the fire we couldn’t see that displayed "uncharacteristic behavior" that rapidly advanced toward our location. And probably because we were committed enough to be prepared, our neighborhoods survived.

Modern scripture tell us that, when the mists of darkness we call life’s challenges come, preparation is the key. We have been told that “If ye are prepared ye shall not fear” (D&C 38:30).

The primary preparation needed is also set forth in the Doctrine and Covenants, wherein it says, “Wherefore, stand ye in holy places, and be not moved, until the day of the Lord come” (D&C 87:8). And the most holy place of them all is the House of the Lord – the temple. That is one reason why my husband and I volunteer to work there once a week.

Djent2019

In reverence of Jared Dines' yearly djent project (now the biggest shred collab), I wrote the song Djent2019 [Demo].

Why does it say demo? Because I wanted to come back to this when I was more skilled with the guitar and mixing techniques clean it up. Especially the drums are a messy mix of shakers, cajon and noises.

Edit: I found the project data and re-mixed a new version, but I no longer have the tabs to work on it, so I deleted the song from Soundcloud. Maybe I'll remake it from scratch someday.

The melodic intro was really cool I think, then I kept adding layer after layer and made some harmonically questionable choices. Since I play live rhythms, it's not all that clean when the driving rhiff changes. Anyway, I still come back to listen to this song sometimes. There are songs where I am like: Wow, how did I do this?

This was supposed to be the full version to the demo of Djent2019. I tweaked the mix a bit and added another part to the end. It's actually more metalcore since the final part is a cover of Alerion by Asking Alexiandria with positive instead of hateful lyrics.

As always I wanted to write rhythmic music without an actual rhythm group. So all of this was recorded only to the beat of a metronome. I could have added drums towards the end since I could just copy them, but decided to let the bass be my drum. I did add synth vocals. I never figured out what Synthesizer metalcore bands in the 2010s were using but I think the ghostly notes of this one fit well.
