The palace that was one day to be [Name]’s was nothing short of luxurious. A palace fit for a future king and ruler of the land, and the young prince ensured that it remained strong as a fortress. His father had always told him the importance of appearing strong to everyone, be them ally or enemy, and [Name] took his father’s lessons to heart. 

He did the best he could to fulfil these lessons and become the most suitable successor to the throne he could be. Ensuring that the people of the kingdom were happy and matters involving the common folk were also attended, while others would have called him a soft-hearted brat, he knew that keeping his people happy and healthy meant he would have their support. Though, there was one individual that [Name] had found the most treasured among the people of his kingdom. 

His close friend, Caesar. Since the two were young, they were good friends, despite the difference in species. With Caesar being a creature of the sea, a merman, though his intelligence was equal to those who had found him, washed up and injured. It had taken a bit of time for them to heal the merman, as well as find a way to keep him from dehydrating but they soon were able to set him in the marine pools around the kingdom. [Name], the curious teenager he was, had snuck in a few times to speak to the merman, amazed and in awe at his presence. 

Caesar, who was equally curious of the [Hair colour] young prince, did not shy away from him, leading to the pair talking and growing close. [Name] would come by late at night when everyone was asleep, sneaking snacks and other things in the room where Caesar was held, showing him things of the surface he would never have seen before. 

“-And that is how we have our herds of animals kept in check.” [Name] finished, giving Caesar a quick explanation of how the animal herds were monitored and protected in the kingdom, as Caesar had asked about the food he had been eating. The blonde merman trilled softly at this, a form of response similar to a human humming or a cat purring, 

“Interesting. Humans have a great many food types.” He spoke, his glimmering tailfin swaying lazily in the water, occasionally flicking water up to his back and gills along his neck. [Name] smiled as he did, finding it quite cute. 

“We do. I can always arrange for you to try some if you like.” That brought a smile to the blonde’s face, making more joy swell up within [Name]. 

“I would like that, grazie.” Caesar had to admit, before all of this happened, he had little interest in the surface world but now, that was not so much the case anymore. And now, he would dare to say he would call it home now. Or at least a second home, the ocean’s waves will always be his home. 

After he shared some of his meal with Caesar, [Name] also pulled out a book that Caesar seemed to be interested in. Poetry. Caesar told him it was the way the words melted with one another to create a beautiful image and sense that often reminded him of his kin’s songs. The [Hair colour] prince smiled as he sat beside the pool, reading the poems in a soft tone to the merman, finding it adorable how he would softly trill at the poems. Moments like this made the entire day worth enduring.

 “I’ll see you tomorow Marlene” you said looking back at your friend. She nodded and waved back “I’ll see you then! Say hi to Caesar for me!” she yelled. 

You chuckled and made your way home. Most people would take a jeep to their destination, but you prefered to just walk; it was a lot more relaxing that way. What you didn’t know however, was that a certain brunette had been following you throughout the beginning of your walk.

 Fifteen minutes in, you felt someone hug you from behind while covering your eyes. “Guess who?” The person asked, but by that point you had already recognized the voice. “Really Jojo? You made yourself too obvious” you said wiggling your way out of the British man’s grip. You were greeted with his goofy smile right away, “Yup! It’s me you favorite little devil!” Joseph said using his fingers to make ‘horns’ on his head. You chuckled, you remember the first encounter you had with him, was him claiming he was a demon. You’ll admit, at first you were annoyed with his little devil fantasies, but soon you grew used to it.   “So [first], I was thinking if you wanted to come see that new movie in theaters, I’ll buy you a ticket if you’d like!” he said reaching over to hold your hand. “Sorry Jojo, I won’t be able to tonight, you see-”

 “Then how about right now-?” he asked.

 “No Jojo, I mean I can’t go out with you tonight, I have a date with Caesar-” you said trying to explain to him. However, Joseph just didn’t seem to comprehend. Instead of being happy for you, the brunette started a temper tantrum of some sorts. “Who’s Caesar? You’ve never told me about him. What date? You’re going to cancel our plans for him?” Joseph’s tone was starting to get more aggressive, and truth be told you were starting to get a bit scared. You came to your senses though, “Jojo, listen to me, I know we haven’t been talking as of late, but I been meaning to tell you that-” 

 “That what? You’re running off with some ‘Caesar’ and leaving me to dust?” 

 You didn’t notice it at first, but Joseph’s beautiful baby blue eyes had turned into a crimson red from anger and jealousy alone. You finally  manged to get away from Joseph, “No Joseph! Listen I’m not leaving you, but I can’t deny the fact that I have a fiancee I need to get to. I have a date tonight, and whether you accept it or not, I am going” you stated, quickly walking off. The grip Joseph had on you was almost inhuman, that the fact you managed to get away was a miracle. You don’t know what gotten into Joseph, but right now you had to get ready for your date, you assumed you would talk to Joseph later and sort things out. But Joseph is not a patient man, and he wants to sort things out now.

 Joseph just couldn’t understand the situation at hand. He couldn’t understand why you had a fiancee, and that fiancee was another man who was not him. That thought alone haunted and angered the male. He would be considered a fool if he didn’t notice the damn sapphire ring you wore with pride. “That Caesar was pronanly the one who gave it to her” he whispered to himself as he followed you home. You were already way ahead of him, but for now he must control himself before he wrecks your date and your relationship.

  “Maybe I should’ve worn more perfume. You didn’t tell me we were going to a fancy restaurant ” you told the blonde Italian who sat next to you. Caesar smiled warmly, “Why? If you smell just fine amore, you’re wearing that new perfume I bought you no? ” he said kissing your hand. You giggled at his romantic charm, he always seemed to know how to make you feel giddy inside. “Pardon me amore, while I go to get you a surprise” Caesar said giving you small kiss on you cheek, before leaving the dining room. You sighed in utter glee, Caesar was just the perfect man, and you were more than ecstatic for your future wedding.

 You started to get worried for Caesar, it had been more than thirty minutes since he went out to give you your ‘surprise’. It’s not that you were getting impatient, you were starting to question his safety. You stood up and asked a waitress coming by if she had seen the blonde. She told you that she saw him go outside the restaurant. Quickly, you left the restaurant, only to be greeted by Caesar who came out of a dark alley. “What the hell Caesar! Why did you leave without telling me?” you exclaimed, you genuinely thought he was in danger or something. Little did you know he was. “Oh sorry babe, I was just getting your surprise” he said nonchalently. He reached for his pocket and pulled out a ruby ring. “Oh Caesar you shouldn’t have, but I already have a ring, you didn’t have to buy me another one” you said taking the ring. It was odd for Caesar to buy you a red ring, but you didn’t question it.

 “C’mon babe take the blue one off and wear the one I just gave you” He smirked snatching your hand and practically ripping the sapphire ring from your finger and forcefully placing the ruby ring on your ring finger. You were shocked by Caesar’s unusual force fullness. Was this even Caesar at all? Your impossible thoughts were made a reality when as soon as the ruby ring was placed on your finger, black smoke began to release from Caesar’s mouth. You screamed, the whole scene that was playing out in front of you felt like a nightmare. It became worse when you saw that Joseph was in front of you and your beloved Caesar was on the cold concrete. Dead.

 “No Caesar! Wake up-!” you tried bending down towards your lover’s body, but Joseph had other plans in mind. The brunette grabbed you and licked your neck, “Tsk tsk, next you’ll say, “Joseph you bastard how could you do this-!”

 “Joseph you bastard! How could you do this!” you wanted to hold back tears as you came to the realization that Caesar was dead, and that Joseph was always the beast he said he was. 

 “Doesn’t it feel great to finally be engaged with me? I’m already dreaming of our wedding. Can you imagine it? I know I can. And who knows maybe you’ll like being my bride. You’ll watch our kids laugh and grow, and you and I will be inseparable ” he whispered in your ear while mocking you, lifting your hand up so you could see your ring finger. 

You were fully crying now, your sobs are what filled the entire alley. Joseph didn’t seem to care as he made you embrace the darkness with him. You might now want this now, but you’ll have to learn to love him.

A soft sigh escaped your lips as you inhaled the fresh summer morning air. Despite having lived in Rome all your life, you never really found yourself waking up to the simple things in life. Leaning outside of your balcony, you took a gander at the world around you as shops prepared to start their days. Your soft gaze then settled on your long time friend. A small laugh escaped your lips as you noticed his joyous laugh and flirtatious smirk sent your way.

You merely rolled your eyes at the blond before you stood yourself up straight. His cheerful voice echoing across the empty space as he looked up at you with warm teal eyes.

“Bella~ I’ll be up momentarily with breakfast~!” 

A nod and a thumbs up was sent back to him as you watched him slip into the crowds below. The promise of a delicious breakfast and some catch up time with your good friend. With that, you slipped back into your humble abode as you began to prepare yourself for your guest and for the day ahead of you. 

You changed into a simple outfit. One that accented you well and made you feel free, yet comfortable before giving your face a light splash of water as a wake-me-up before patting dry as you heard the faint familiar sound of a knock at your door.

Chuckling to yourself, you made your way over before opening it and taking in the sight of the handsome male before you. Though in all honesty, your mind was more focused on the delicious food he had brought up, and as if on cue your stomach growled. A pink flush dusted your cheeks as you looked away embarrassed as the other let out an adoring laugh.

“Oh? I knew you were hungry, but I didn’t think you’d respond so promptly~.” 

The teasing tone that danced with his words made your heart flutter as a comfortable aura fell around you both as you went to set the table. The man, known as Caesar, walked around your home with ease. As if he had lived there himself, though you knew the truth to that. 

It still surprised you as to how well the other knew your household layout, but then again it shouldn’t as he was practically over once a day to catch up with you and to hang out around the city. You’ve seen his flirting acts towards the other women, and initially you were jealous. A strange emotion that bubbled inside of you, but now you didn’t really mind.

After all, in comparison, Caesar was still seeing you everyday where as the women he would speak with would be maybe once or twice a week. Depending on his mood. The Casanova really had no idea what he did to your heart. 

Yet as of late, you began to notice the lack of dates he went out on. The attention and extra care that he took for you being caught in the crevices of your mind and fully reminding you of these actions just before you went to sleep.

It annoyed you at first, your mind working against what you wanted and in the end you decided to ignore the actions. Perhaps he was going through a slump. You knew it was something that happened to everybody, so of course it shouldn’t have been a surprising thought to you about the handsome man before you.

“Bella?”

The soft nickname brought you out of your thoughts as your (e/c) met his deep teal ones. The flush on your face now growing slightly as you leaned back from the sudden invasion of space. 

“Is...is something wrong?” 

You finally asked, noting how he stared at you inquisitively before setting your plate with a bountiful amount of food and pouring a generous cup of your favorite beverage before leaning back into his own seat.

“You seem...distracted. Is something on your mind?” 

You stared blankly for a moment before realizing the concern laced in his words as you couldn’t help but melt slightly as you went to grab one of the sweet morsels on your plate. A small bite to start your appetite before another bite as you chewed before finally meeting his gaze again. It was better to be honest than tip toeing. 

“I guess you could say I am. Tell me, are you in a sort of slump Caesar?”

Instantly, his eyes widened before he relaxed as he shook his head. A look of confusion settled on his features as he propped his elbow on the table before resting his cheek against his fist as he watched you.

“Not at all, bella. Why?”

A slight ‘ah’ escaped your lips as you frowned slightly, wondering what to say next before you felt his sharp gaze on you. Letting out a huff, you finally spoke what was on your mind as you met his gaze head on.

“It’s just that, I’ve noticed you hanging around here a lot more often. No girls, no sudden dates, why is that? I’m not mad or upset by the way! I’m just curious is all.”

It was silent for a moment as you both stared at one another before a soft smile broke out onto the male’s features as his features melted into a warm yet loving look which caused your cheeks to flush even more.

“Ah I see, well the answer is simple. I realized that all I need is you.”

Despite the words being so simple, you could practically feel his emotions pouring out of them as his free hand reached forward to grab one of your own before he gently caressed the back of it.

“....I’d like to just try with you, and only you, Tesoro. I guess... I’ve realized I only feel certain emotions when I’m with you.”

The confession came as a shock as you couldn’t keep his gaze any longer. But the warmth in the air said otherwise as you merely gave his hand a shy squeeze as you went to take another bite of your breakfast as he smiled at you. Pleased to see you eat.

Though it wasn’t stated, it was practically set in stone by the time you both left the apartment of the new advancement to your relationship. The warmth his hand held as he made sure to intertwine your fingers together as you both walked down the bustling streets of Rome. 

A new sense of adventure awaiting you both as shy (e/c) eyes met loving teal ones.

Gelegenheit; Pacific Rim/JJBA crossover + Soulmates AU

IMPORTANT note: Alright, so this is more of a pilot thing, a test (?) to be honest. I want to see how this idea works and it’s mainly something I’ve thought about for almost a year now, but honestly, I couldn't come up with a proper prompt or summary, so this is how it would be. Keep in mind that I’m open to write more about this depending on your reactions (yes, requests ONLY FOR THIS and questions are open/allowed). 

The JJBA x Pacific Rim + soulmates AU (talking about this part) will be about how they realized and complemented the [edited] to the Jaeger’s interface. The soulmates part was reserved (and still is) for x reader content but since this doesn't have this last part, it’ll be left as a concept yet to work in future pieces. Keep in mind that none of the characters working together as pilots are in relationships; I don't write ships, as stated in my rules. If they are, thought this will be a character x reader thing.

Warnings: brief mentions of fire and mental breakdown —not important to the trama, just mentioned. Stay safe.

From the very beginning, humanity has been looking at the sky, wondering what awaits there; drawing in the walls the events that came from above; watching as the smoke of the recent discovered fire ascended, getting lost there; looking up to pray to their gods; making projects and sending people and technology out there to discover what kind of life existed outside our world; some people thinking it was located somewhere around the milky way, others believing it followed the hollow earth theory  —and the list could go and go and never end. Each head a world, few could guess what would happen and those would be the ones wishing it never happened as they curled around themselves laying down in fetal position as the screen of the TV with the headlines of the news channel illuminated the room, that if it wasn’t for the small source of light, would be completely dark.

We were looking in the wrong direction.

Life outside our world existed for sure, but not outside the planet in the same galaxy but another dimension. A fissure between two tectonic plates called The Breach made us find it out in a cruel, bitter way. 

The first attack happened in San Francisco. The second six months later in Manila. The third in Cabo. And then came the fourth. At that moment we realized it wouldn’t stop: it was the beginning of the end. Some could call it the end of the times, the divine punishment. But humanity refused its end. Nations all around the globe united, forgetting conflicts and differences for the sake of surviving.

To fight monsters, we created monsters of our own.

Or that’s what Dr. Jasper Schoenfeld’s idea suggested —it seemed illogical, impossible even, but then… Then he presented the idea. And the program started with Dr. Lars Gottlieb and him as the masterminds and Dr. Caitlin Lightcap behind the interface’s design and Stacker Pentecost as a close ally.

The Jaeger program was born. There were setbacks at first, the neural load to interface with the Jaeger proved too much for a single pilot.

Sacrifices had to be made, as every war requires for those not in the line of fire, for those not leaving behind their life for the sake of a planet and its population —names were added to the list, and although gone, never forgotten. 

It happened during the second test for Brawler Yukon when Dr. Caitlin Lightcap realized two pilots were needed to pilot a Jaeger —enough to convince the United Nations and the Pan Pacific Defense Corps to keep financing and supporting the Jaeger program. However, something happened. A discovery that we weren't looking for came to us in the less fortunate moment. They say that war never changes, but I believe this did change it. At least this one. 

As the Jaeger Academy started receiving students and making the preparations for each pilot to get a copilot, something happened.

The first case of apparent soulmates was reported from a duo of russian pilots —Sasha and Aleksis. Although some said this was just a rumor, it was soon found out that this connection, believed to be part only of fiction, resulted in reality. And, to add and finally attract the attention and seem like something useful for war, the neural connection enabled by soulmates allowed them to find not only their other half, but to awaken powers hidden deep in their mind. Named stands after the PPDC, stands allowed pilots to get an ability that they could add to the drift and combine in battle.

While it was true that the possibilities to find a soulmate, let alone to pass the first semester or firsts tests —where teachers would put students to the maximum of their mental and physical limits— were low, the number of people looking for their soulmate was a tendency expected, and quickly dismissed by Stacker Pentecost. 

War never changes; and this war hasn’t finished.

A new generation of pilots is looking for a copilot. None of them expect to find their soulmate, but destiny might smile at them.

- I won’t write NSFW for underage character but for the others, you can request all the lewd stuff you want~!
