#hi. i think this edit is almost done#well. no. it IS almost done. probably gonna finish it tomorrow#i really want to do some writing today but will i?#i think i need to join like. a writing group or something bc i suck at self motivating but#idk. sounds scary. so. probably not.#i wouldn't know where to find one anyway & if i did. i probably wouldn't interact much.#i'm one of those doesn't speak unless spoken to people tbh#n e way. i've been really into my plants lately lol#my lil round cactus is growing fruits!!!!#it's never done that before so i'm hoping to save the seeds & try growing them myself. gonna set up a terrarium#& my haworthia is looking significantly better than it was before#it was all sunburned & sad but now it's very green!!! & happier!! i think i need to water it today#my desert rose however....... needs work. i don't think i know how to take care of it very well.#i looked up care instructions & it said to keep the soil moist but also to let it dry out completely so??? idk that's a lil confusing#i'm gonna put it in a more gravelly soil & see if that helps#i also propped my bunny ear cactus bc it was getting all droopy & heavy so#now i'm gonna have baby cacti!! so exciting#rainyrambles

When I first started researching how to grow cactus by seed, there were so many complicated directions and I was intimidated
But really all I do is throw them on some soaking wet regular cactus soil, stick it in a plastic bag for humidity, and place them on a seed heating pad. Then I leave an extra aquarium light I had laying around on for 12 hours on and 12 off
It’s worked very well for me so far

I’ve been composting in a turtle sand box I used to grow dandelions in. It’s feels so nice to just stir the dirt w my tiny 3ft rake and now I’ve begun distributing the refreshed dirt to my houseplants that haven’t had fresh dirt in AGES! Many of my plants slowed down or died back when I was super depressed and not taking proper care of them, so I’m very excited for them to start looking better :)
Composting is such a simple joy! Save the peels from my daily banana, eggshells from breakfast, even make use of salad that’s gone bad! Plus motivation to collect any dead leaves from my plants, which helps them to look better too!
And of course using my tiny rake to smooth out the compost soil like a zen garden :)

EASTER CACTUS SEEDS. I noticed it was ready today and since I'm already up too late I figured I might as well harvest them so I put them on a paper towel for tonight and tomorrow I'll put them in a baggie & probably start germinating some? :3
