honestly, my mother tricked my child brain into thinking star trek was cool because it being on TV was the Only reason I was allowed to stay up past my bedtime, so kid me viewed Voyager as The Cool Show that lets me stay up late.
It’s a shame that in the age of streaming it’s not possible to manipulate kids into liking shows via timeslots anymore, tbh!
Worked like a charm for me. I still have warm fuzzies over the memories of staying up late, already in my pyjamas, just to watch Voyager.

Other than that, I know BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP and a bit of IS-IS. And the internet wouldn't run without any of them. And NOBODY FUCKING KNOWS.
Even back in the days when people on the internet generally had some idea how it worked (pre September 1997), networking was just seen as a void. Data went along the cables (or tubes) and got to where it was going.
AND NOBODY CARED ABOUT HOW.
Networking is the red-headed stepchild of STEM, but you'd all fucking notice if it stopped.
