+++ Zhongli - Crown of Insight

"Triple Crown Xiao!! Let's fucking gooo!!!"

Zhongli watched impassively as their beloved Goddess coaxed Xiao into performing a variety of acrobatic tricks for her to enjoy. Jumping, running around in circles, and using Xiao's Anemo power to dash around in a flurry of Anemo particles. All of which were but a few of the many ways their Goddess expressed her happiness to the world. 

And "triple crowning" the Last Yaksha was apparently one such cause for celebration. Especially when what she had so boldly declared after Xiao had first experienced her grace over his body. It was apparent that the path to bestowing the "Triple Crown" onto one of her most favoured vessels was one of severe hardship. 

ZL feels a little jealous over the Goddess’s attention on Xiao and hopes to one day be bestowed with a Crown of Insight as well 

Knows that he is one of her favoured ones and is silently proud of it

+++ Thoma

"Ooh, this would be such a good date spot!" 

From the brief glances of his current surroundings that his Goddess would allow him as she excitedly swivelled his body around, Thoma could agree. He could bring a basket with all of her favourite foods packed (or at least, what he surmised from the amount of Sweet Madames she regularly stocked up on).

Then after taking her on a stroll around Inazuma City and showing her the sights, Thoma would bring her to this very spot for a picnic. 

+++ Diluc 

“You goddamn bastard, why won’t you spook me?!” 

As he watched the Goddess’s current vessel run through his vineyards catching crystalflies, Diluc wondered what it would be like to be carried by the hands of their world’s Goddess. Of the many who called Mondstadt home, he was one of the few that were rarely bestowed the honour of becoming the Goddess’s vessel.

“Wait, Xiao’s banner is coming soon?! Guess I can’t spend much on this banner then. Oh man! C1 Xiao, here I come!”

Kuki Shinobu could only sigh as the illustrious leader of the Arataki Gang spent another day sulking in his room. Not even the promises of getting some Onikabuto or a round of Genius TCG could rouse him out of his depressive state. 

To twist the knife even deeper into the Boss’s gut, the Goddess had only sent her prayers into his special “banner” long enough to bestow her blessings upon the Canine General instead.

“Sheesh, you may hit hard like a truck but damn if your CRIT rate wasn’t just straight-up trash… Ahh, I hate artifact farming…”

The first time his Anemo-powered punch had dealt a solid hit onto the naked crystal heart of Liyue’s “Geo Cube”, the Goddess had immediately brought him to face all sorts of other opponents. It was only after the second time that he had apparently “critted” on a mitachurl that his Goddess began to ladle praises after praises of his martial prowess.

Post-Isekai: The Goddess goes on a date with Zhongli, touring Liyue in person.

The intense prickling feeling of someone watching me lessened as I continued to stare after the pompous NPC that dared to interrupt my special outing with Zhongli. 

“Take care of that person for me, will you?” 

After waiting a few minutes for the brief spike of bloodlust that followed my request to subside, I sighed. The Eleventh Fatui Harbinger… and apparently one of my most devoted followers. Perhaps a little too devoted to my wellbeing. I didn’t need foreknowledge from playing the game to know how dangerous Tartaglia really was. 

For a moment, I wondered how long until the wild dog would finally gain reason to chew through his spindly rope leash and turn against me? If not for my weakling self as I was, then perhaps how fake my affections were for him? As it stood, the relationship we had as master and servant was toxic as all hell. 

Sure, I fantasised plenty of being the princess that knights would wholly pledge their devotions to. And I received such notions in spades in the form of my followers as the apparent Creator of this World. But to persist in keeping them up for however long I would stay in Teyvat? No matter what they tell me, I will hold no hopes on that.

Xiao: Fainting HCS

FUCK. I FORGOT TO POST THIS EARLIER. AHHHH. I HAVE WORK IN LIKE 2 MINUTES SO I’LL BE BACK TO REPLY TO EVERYONE. 

Hey anon! So sorry it took me forever to finish writing this but good luck if you’re planning on pulling Xiao. I really wanted to finish writing this fic as an offering to the gacha gods that c1 xiao wants to bless me (even tho that’s not gonna happen). But good luck to everyone rolling today^^.

Disclaimer: I have not watch anything about Xiao because my hype can only take so much. This was written before 1.3. So if I get anything wrong or I’m missing something. That’s why.

Xiao: Fainting HCS

Instant panic mode engaged. If you’ve ever doubted his adepti power of swiftness you’re about to be mistaken. He’s noticed that you seem a bit out of it but brushed it off as you being tired from your recent journey. If there was anything bothering you, you would tell him. But as he turned around to greet you back, it seems like time is slowing down for him. He sees how your eyes glazed over and become unfocused. The muscles in your body snap and you drop to the ground. He can feel his blood run cold as past memories that have been waiting to jump at him suddenly claw at him but he doesn’t even register them. He’s already running towards you.

He’s already caught you in his arms before you can even meet the wooden floor. His brain is racing as he quickly checks your pulse to make sure you didn’t suffer from a heart attack or a curse. He makes a quick search over your body to check for any injuries, he can already feel the red hot iron of anger fill his system at the thought of someone trying to take advantage of you or threaten you. He’s usually logical in these types of situations, even the death of Rex Lapis didn’t shock him this much, but he’s been battling his conflicting feelings ever since he met you. But now that he’s finally accepted you and himself, he wouldn’t know what to do if anything happened to you. His mind flashes to Guizhong before he shakes away the thought.

It doesn’t occur to him that you might be sick as he tries to shake you awake. Whatever teachings Guizhong and Morax have taught him fly out the window as he holds you so close to his chest, he’s pretty sure his grip on you is bruising. He knew mortal souls weren’t as strong as adepti and staying around one might cause sickness or even worse- death. Was this his fault? He can feel the drop in his stomach as he tries to reign in his emotions and powers, not here.

Verr almost screams when Xiao breaks the wooden ceilings and lands in front of her. She’s scared that there was a monster outbreak or something was wrong with Xiao before she notices your passed out form in his arms. As much as she likes to joke around and thinks your relationship with Xiao is cute, she knows that if anything came to seriously harm you she wouldn’t able to calm Xiao before he goes on a rampage. You mean so much to him and he hasn’t opened his heart to anyone except you.

She can tell he’s nearly past his breaking point as he looks at her with dilated eyes as he asks, no commands, her to help you. It’s such whiplash to her. Xiao’s always been polite and reserved that she almost forgets he used to be a demon slaying Yaksha, but this isn’t the time for her to worry about that. She quickly leads him to the backroom since there’s no way Xiao wouldn’t bite any hand that comes near you. Bless Verr’s heart since this isn’t the first time she’s had to handle Xiao’s outbreaks that she manages to save face and contact a doctor that was staying at the inn to look at you. She does feel a bit bad for the doctor who looks like he’s about to piss himself in fear as Xiao growls and watches the doctors every move with piercing yellow eyes.

Xiao is still wary when the doctor and Verr try to calm him down and examine you more closely, always flinching back whenever their hands get too close to you, letting out a dangerous hiss whenever there’s the slightest twitch of discomfort in your face when the doctor feels your heated forehead. As soon as the doctor concludes that you’ve been sick for the past few days and your body just needs to heal itself and recharge, the tension on Xiao’s shoulder loosens and the suffocating aura that’s been filling the room slowly filters out. Verr can’t help but sigh in relief but can’t bring herself to scold Xiao for breaking the inns roof as she watches him look over your form with worried eyes as he softly nudges your cheek. He’s still holding you but his grip has loosen slightly as he rests his forehead against yours. He breathes a sigh of relief as he rubs small circles in your hand. Xiao’s never been the most affectionate or shown to be the most caring but you’ve seriously scared him. She quietly leaves him be and closes the door as she begins to prepare to fix the damages.

Xiao never leaves your side as he waits for you to wake up. He can’t help but berate himself for not confronting you. The doctor said you would be fine but he can’t but imagine your body falling in a more violent scene. He quickly shakes those thoughts away as he paces around the room, sits besides you, then goes back to pacing. Usually he would go on a walk or beat his aggression out but he doesn’t want to leave you alone should you awake early.

Xiao doesn’t ramble about his day while you’re asleep, instead he just observes your features and the small movements you make to remind him that you’re okay. How your chest moves up and down as you breath or how your eyes sometimes scrunch in sleep. You’ve made him almost trip when you did it the first time since he thought you were waking up. He can’t help but think back to his fellow Yaksha’s and what they would say if they saw the way he was acting now.

Since his panic attack has mostly subsided he’s found himself growing more curious. He’s still worried about you but he’s managed to reason with himself that you’re okay, just sick which he’s going to scold you a bit for when you awake, so he softly brushes his fingers across your face. Before snatching his hand away in embarrassment. What the hell is he doing? Guizhong would slap him sideways if she saw him now. He huffs at himself as he deflates a little and rests his head on the bed beside your head. He’s patient. He will wait when your ready to wake up.

When you suddenly gain consciousness, it feels as if the entire world is weighing you down. You slowly blink open your eyes to see a worried Xiao hovering over you, his hands awkwardly in the air since he’s not sure if it’s okay to touch you.

“How are you feeling?” Xiao asks as his eyes dart all over the place before resting on your face. You’re still a bit out of it but you can tell he must have been really worried. You try to give him a small smile but with how scuffy you feel you can bet it’s not a pretty picture.

“Like I got slammed with one of Zhongli’s meteors,” you tried to laughed before coughing as Xiao quickly pressed a cup of water to your lips. Slowly letting you drink and calm down. 

“If you have time to make jokes then you’re alright” Xiao sighs before his features change slightly. His eyes glaze over in concern as a small frown appears. He really does look like a kicked kitten as he slumps over as the stress finally lifts as he feels your hand softly run through his hair.

“Sorry,” you say, he must have been so stressed out while you were passed out for him to look so exhausted. He simply nudges into your hand before turning his face to kiss your palm,

“There’s no need for apologies. I’m...just glad you’re okay,” Xiao mumbles before he’s back to pressing his head into your stomach. You can’t help but smile delicately as you reach over and bring Xiao up with you until he’s lying over you as you hug him gently. There’s a bit of shuffling before you’re able to spoon him as he let’s himself relax after the two day panic attack he just went through.

When you’ve fully recovered Xiao seems to hover around you a bit more. Well not a bit, a lot more, but no one has the heart to tell him that. It’s actually kind of adorable seeing the aloof and reserved adepti seem to follow you around like a loss duckling. Making sure you’re okay and you’re not overworking yourself. He still keeps his tough demeanor but you seriously gave him a big scare.

When Zhongli and Childe come over for their weekly visits of tea, they were aware that Xiao had locked himself in a room to watch over you and anyone that even stepped near the door would be skewered with a spear - and Verr would make them pay for the damages (Zhongli) and whatever consequences Xiao saw fit (Childe) - but they are happy to see you’re okay. You all fall back into your usual rhythm of conversation or Childe trying to get a rise out of Xiao while you and Zhongli talk about how lovely the weather’s been.

Zhongli let’s you in on some details that Xiao or Verr never mentioned while Childe and Xiao are fighting about who knows what. How Xiao wouldn’t leave your side or that he resembled a kicked kitten as he nudged your hand when he thought no one was looking. He offers you some medicine herbs to help with exhaustion and to take care of yourself. Likewise, to give Xiao some pain medication on his behalf. You’re one of the few good things in Xiao’s life and he doesn’t want anything bad happening to you.

Hmm. I didn’t mean to but I totally believe in the dad zhongli train and I think Zhongli basically just gave you his blessing? Maybe I’m thinking too hard on this haha.

Maybe this is better? Trying to figure out writing styles are hard. Either way, I’m never gonna end up kicking my paragraph HCS habit haha. If you couldn’t tell, I really like feral protective but lowkey vulnerable types (coughrazorcough). Xiao is so OOC at this point I don’t even know how to fix it. Please come home Xiao.

I come bringing ideas and headcanons.

OK, so we all already know what The Three oldest archons abilities. So I’ve come up with my own ideas we could use for the younger archons! (And yes I’m grouping Ei, Venti and Zhongli as the older siblings since Ei Is 1000 years old Venti is 2,500 and Zhongli is 5,000-6,000 and the other archons are still in the hundreds I think)

For Dendro archon!Reader

Definitely a Bow User. And Is a Healer. But the their Ult can cause damage

I have a theory That during the Archon War The dendro Archin created the Regisvines to fight for them, and only two were left. I also Headcanon The dendro archon can bring plants to life and overwrite what each plant can do. (Maybe even bring mushrooms to life 👀).

Maybe They can create a giant plant from the ground that spreads Healing energies and since this is a god where talking about can Cure Curses (Ahem Vils Curses Ahem) and major Diseases and what not.

For Their Ult maybe a giant plant monster (kinda like how Gouba and Oz exists ) that will attack for them (could make for fun combos with different elements like if the dendro archon was wet Hydro Plant monster)

For Hydro archon!reader

Polearm or sword (theirs way too many Hydro Catalyst) Healer and Dps, Why? Cause I say so.

You’ve mentioned how Hydro archon summons a giant wave? I’ll do you one better and their E skill summons a giant sea creature of your choosing to soak the fighters (A cool visual is their polearm turning into a big dream catcher then going swoosh and Baam Maybe like A giant Water Koi fish finna drown your ass *ahem ace ahem*)

Now mihoyo likes to reference Their character form honkai impact into genshin impact (and since they took a characters look from Honkai and another characters abilities with the whole Dual ego thing for Raiden shogun and Ei) I’m gonna base this Ultimate Skill From a character from Honkai (for research search up Herrsercher of Sentience)

Since the Hydro archons whole thing is about Justice. Now here me out here. WATER WHIP. Just a giant whip of water that can go on for miles (maybe it’s salty maybe it’s like fresh water depends on our readers mood lolol). Like, It’s whip of water strong enough to cut diamond or whatever it would be very cool (Kalim would wanna see if he could do something like that with his UM Que jamil trying to stop him)

Maybe their hair turns into water too.

Pyro archon! Reader

Claymore. A Big strong war god needs a big strong weapon. Dps and Defense.

Now It’s not just one claymore, It’s DUAL-CLAYMORE, why? Cause it’s a war god that’s why!

I like to think the shield is like Xinyans and XiangLings combined and it’s constantly sending off tiny Fire Discs. Or just symbols shooting fire like what the Pyro Abyss mages can do

For Ultimate I like to think it’s like Childes Daggers but Bigger and on fire just a huge sword made of fire.

The pyro archon doesn’t think just BURNS. and STABE

Cryo archon! Reader

I can’t really come up with much for Cryo archon. But maybe a Catalyst that can summon a giant blizzard that drops down giant ice swords (kinda like Ganyus)

Definitely a sub DPS.

Maybe a healer too since The Tsaritsa is The archon of love?

What do you think about these abilities? Since you mentioned that the students and staff would assume their just strong mages I tried to be very creative with these abilities.

Also how I think the lore could go is maybe somewhere after leonas overblot and before azuls, Crowly has found a way to send Yuu home reluctantly. Yuu, grim and the aduece duo, and maybe some of heartslaybul or savana claw whoever you want come with them to the office to send them home. But Yuu is contemplating whether or not they WANT to go home now. But something goes wrong, maybe grim messes up the spell for the portal to work becuase (although he doesn’t want to admit it ) doesn’t want Yuu leaving, and their greeted with a surprise guest. Now this gives Yuu time to decide if they genuinely wanna go home and when teh archon finally has the materials they need to create a portal Yuu will tell them to leave the portal open (maybe put it into a tiny pocket mirror like the how we have the teapot) because they wanna stay for a little while or just until grim graduates (Que a happy fire cat ) and the archon whose grown attached to some people here was like ok “let our friends visit whenever they want, only if their headmaster allows it”

Now onto the headcanons

Anemo Archon! Reader and Mondstadt! Yuu

Everyone expected a lot of things not a person with Green eyes and (H/C) hair with green highlights. And an odd thing about them was the glowing stone on their person, Yuu didn’t have that?

Everyone’s freaking out because they’ve accidentaly taken another person from Yuus world.

And since Venti Is a well known famous bard In teyvat let’s say or Dear (y/N) is also a known bard and is not at all freaking out about what’s going on in fact let’s say our dear reader recognizes Yuu! And so now (Y/N) is now a new student (and a new headache for Crowley) in the ramshackle dorm! Yup! Just an ordinary human bard, Ehe~.

I’ll leave the rest of this up to you, Where Yuu has to explain what the world of teyvat is like (and why Yuu doesn’t have a phone (and a vision) because Twisted wonderland is far more advance in Technology and teyvat has JUST invented the Camera)

Also I head canon that people with Visions can summon their weapons and object with their visions, ok? Ok. To make things make more sense when reader pulls out a lyre from floating glitter.

Geo archon!reader and Liyue! Yuu

Same things happend here, but hey! We’ve summoned a Funeral Consultant! A very (ahemATTRACTIVEahem) Wise funeral consultant at best!

Our dear Friend (y/n) is very calm about the situation as well. After all everyone and liyue knows their god was killed and The Adepti are watching over them

Electro Archon!Reader and Inazuma!yuu

Since the god of Inazuma isn’t “Dead” or hasn’t left and the people know what their beloved archon looks like, Yuu will definitely Be Freaking the fuck out

And y’know how Eis “Hello” voice line where she makes the traveler her guard she says the same thing to Yuu except “I recognize you are one of my people as your archon I shall be your guard and keep you safe from any danger in this Foreign world” and let’s say The puppet will not be used and Reader will be in control becuase they don’t have to worry about erosion right now so the puppet will be resting while (Y/N) is in control protecting their Precious Inazuma citizen is ok.

Anyways, for skills of the archons-

Dendro Archon

I think they'd use a sword or a catalyst tbh, if the skills you listed, it makes a little more sense to have them be more of a catalyst

For their elemental skill, I think they'd summon/throw something similar to Klee's and Aloy's elemental skill except they heal if someone in your party is nearby, their healing could scale by their EM or ER.

For their burst, I like your head canon for the Dendro Archon, so I might go off from that and your idea for their burst, just more tweaking. The dendro archon would be able to summon a large plant that heals AND deals Dendro damage by sapping mobs hp. The amount of life sapping it does and the healing would scale off their original HP (artifacts that give hp won't be of use)

Hydro Archon

I agree with hydro polearm or sword. Too many catalysts

Mmm... To be honest, I think you should have the burst be her skill... The whip idea is intriguing, but I think it would work more for a skill which can allow them to use it several times before waiting for the CD to go down. I think the whip skill would work better with Crit as well.

AND AS FOR THE MENTIONS OF WAVE AND A SEA CREATURE, I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER BUT FOR THEIR BURST!!!! They summon a large tsunami which takes form of a monster/animal and lunges at the mobs (similar to Zhongli tossing down a dumbbell), however the amount of damage the burst can do is depending on if they are afflicted by the wet status the mobs are afflicted by. If already afflicted with hydro, the mobs would receive double damage while those with other elements afflicted on them would receive the element combination DMG and normal DMG while those that aren't affected by an element, they would receive normal damage. The amount of damage the burst does is scaled by EM.

Pyro Archon

Hmmm.... I think the skill would be they set an AoE with magma, mobs will receive damage from it and will continue to receive damage if they stay on it, but those who are in party, they will receive an ATK boost that scales from HP.

For the burst, I think I'll use a character from Honkai Impact with their special move which is Murata Himeko in Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. Pyro Archon uses their claymore and another claymore but made of pyro and is far more larger and their cut scene has the Archon raise the pyro claymore above their head and slam it down to send pyro erupting from the ground (similar to the pyro axe wielding hilichurls)

Mmmmmm.... I'd say her skill would beeeeee... Trapping several mobs or so in ice. They can either do 2-4 ice traps depending if you got their c1. (The ice traps are similar to Mirror Maidens traps BTW but it deals or affects the mobs with cryo)

For burst, I like the idea of summoning a blizzard/swords, but it's similar to Ganyu's. SO I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER!!!! Cryo Archon will summon a blizzard which freezes mobs without having to use hydro, the freeze status lasts for a total of 15 seconds or higher if you got their c3

Hmmm... I like the idea, but imma tweak it a bit. The archon was in fact summoned through that portal because Grim decided to mess it up just for Yuu to stay a little longer, and so the Archon now resides in Twisted Wonderland as well in order to aide them until they can return back to their world. That way it makes more sense and makes it more fun.

Yuu would be a bit jealous about them because they got a vision.

Indeed, the road was avoid of people and higher level monsters. Mostly some hilichurls or slimes but Childe has been dealing with them without breaking a sweat.

Though… when arriving to the Stormterror’s lair, you don’t know what you had expected. Monster, yes! But ruin guards on every level that you could see of the tower? Not so much. It was intimidating to say the least.

“I should have expected this. They’re literally called ruin guards.”

You sigh and shake your head. This is it. You’re gonna go up there and… and is that a figure on top of the tower? How did they get up there? Were they always there? Wh—

A yelp escapes you as Childe takes you by the waist. He steps back a bit before making a lunge and jump, flying through the air. Swear words leave your mouth as he lands gracefully on the slowly crumbling bridge and making a mad dash away from the ruin guard. Boom, smack, slap, whatever there was he was dealing with it… without letting you touch the floor.

“Put me down.”

No.

“Childe, you can’t—“

The ground is dirty! He isn’t gonna let you down on dirty ground! … that was such a bullshit lie. He just doesn’t want to stop holding you, honestly.

In the end, he sets you down when you’re both behind the wind barrier of the tower. The blue lights dancing as you guys make your way up the tower. It’s mostly silent. I mean— you guys are coming to the end of part one of the journey…

“What if we join the traveler— no… we can’t do that. That’ll mean you’re alive then the Fatui will come for you.”

He whimpers at that.

The fatui? He barely recognizes the meaning but he gets this weird feeling in his chest. Like pain and panic and other emotions he doesn’t like.

“It’s okay… I won’t let them take you from me,” you turn at the waist with a smile. “Not anymore. We’ll get this fixed. We’ll get to live in a cottage. We’ll live our dream together.”

You’ll both be happy… but for now, you’re gonna grumble about the climbing. Because there is no reason why you guys need to climb this entire tower only to get to the top and find out you need to climb more. Which is heavily frustrating you ask the gods when’s your turning point to snap.

So with some more climbing, angy mumbling, and a small teasing laugh from Childe, you find yourself in front of…

Genshin Impact Summoning & Economics Guide

I’ve been playing Genshin Impact since the 22nd of November, 2020. I have every character except Klee, Jean, and Mona. Tonight, Eula will be joining my collection. With that in mind, and roughly $600 Canadian invested into Genshin’s mesmerizing online world, I thought it might be a good time to talk about how I decide what I want to invest in when I’m playing the game.

The first thing I want to make abundantly clear is that while I have chosen to spend money--the funds I use to use to buy new dolls or vintage My Little Pony figures--you don’t necessarily have to. You can earn 60 primogems--the game’s equivalent of one US dollar--every day by completing four daily quests and then turning them in at the Adventurers’ Guild. There are also generally a few events each month that offer primogems as prizes, helping people stack up a nice amount with absolutely zero effort.

The Welkin Moon

Want to kick it up a notch? Invest $5 USD ($7 Canadian) on getting the Welkin Moon. You get 300 Genisis Crystals (which can be used for packs in the shop or converted into those sweet, sweet primogems) up front and then 90 primogems a day over a 30 day period. Meaning, you’re getting 3,000 primogems for $7. Considering that 3,200 gems--the amount needed for 20 wishes--goes for $50 USD / $70 Canadian in the shop, this is a solid value. It will also increase the likelyhood that you’ll log in each day--which, in my opinion, should be a big deciding factor in whether you want to invest in this game. 

The Battle Pass

Another potentially valuable purchase you can make is investing in the monthly battle pass. For $10 USD or $13.99 Canadian, you can receive a variety of wishes, mora, xp books, weapon crystals, a unique 4 star weapon at rank 30, and fragile resin which will make your in game experience run much more smoothly. To be clear: everything you can get in the Battle Pass--minus the weapon--can be found either in the pass’s free version or elsewhere in game. But as a long time player who has purchased the Battle Pass four times now, I find it to be an excellent cost-to-content value. 

Go Big Or Go Home?

Anything from here out is going to start costing a more sizable sum, which some will and others won’t be comfortable with. One of the most important things to recognize is that Genshin’s Gacha system has a fail-safe on its 5 star characters. But it IS an expensive one. Every 80 pulls, you will receive at least one 5 star character. When you receive a 5 star character, that will reset your pity to 0, regardless of what number of pulls you were at when you got them. 

At full reset, you have a 50% chance of getting the banner’s featured character, and 50% chance of getting (currently) one of five 5 star characters: Diluc, Keqing, Qiqi, Jean, and Mona. If you get one of the 5 alternate characters, your next 5 star will be a banner character. If you are pulling on the same banner, you will get its character. If you wait for a different featured character and pull, you’ll get that character instead. 

It costs $100 USD / $140 Canadian for 50 wishes. Which means that it costs roughly $300 USD or $410 Canadian to guarantee you will get a specific 5 star from 0 pity at worst case scenario. (I’m ignoring roughly 10 wishes total here, but odds are good you’d have those, so let’s keep the math simple.) Personally, the only things I’ve purchased in Genshin aside from Welkin Moon and Battle Pass are characters, with the recent exception of getting constellation c1 for Childe and for Zhongli. 

In Conclusion...

At the end of the day, what every person’s budget is going to be for a game like Genshin Impact will be different. The good news is that the game itself is technically free to play, and it does a great job at allowing a player to figure out whether they are really interested in it or now. 

I went into Genshin Impact figuring I’d try it for a week and be done with it. It’s not in a genre of gaming that I tend to natively gravitate toward. Yet here I am, almost six months later, and I have not missed a day. I actually run two accounts right now, because my BF is paused on Genshin and is busy fishing in Final Fantasy XIV.  For me, the time and funds I have invested in this game--and the passion I have for the game and for interacting with the community--are an excellent value.

However, that does not blind me to the dangers of any type of game that has a gambling mechanic of any sort in it from word go. If you are going to invest in Genshin--or any other game with micro-transactions--make sure you’re not spending money you cannot afford to lose. And do not let anyone make you feel bad if you can’t buy the latest and greatest character, weapon, or anything else. 

So, how do you guys feel about the Gacha system in Genshin Impact? Are you collecting each character like they’re dolls, like me? Are you f2p or a light spender? Do you have every unit c6′d? Everyone has had different experiences, I’m sure, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

genshin anon! finally lol. i keep meaning to respond - tab has been open with your last response for two weeks now... lol. oh i put a lot of work into my weapons. especially if i use them a lot. oo the 20k+ is nice though! apparently i have hu tao built semi decently so when she gets a vaporize crit it goes quite well for me haha. yeah agree. and they have updates every 6 weeks. yeah not every update is the biggest thing ever but like... its okay. no need to rush. game development takes time.

Man it feels it's been ages since this post lmao. Back when I really wanted Klee lol.

Nowadays I've gotten all the 4*s on my main (I ended up having 3 accounts AJFHSJA, though the third one is super casual, and the first two are at a point where I can't do much more than dailies and events anyways), plus my beloved Zhongli, Hu Tao, Xiao, Venti, Ayaka, Childe, Albedo and my also beloved Ayato lmao. Plus Kazuha ofc. Add in all the standards (C1 for Keqing, Mona and Diluc and C2 for Jean... oop, only Qiqi at C0). Nowadays I only want to complete two collections: archons and a main 5* DPS of each element (missing Itto, Eula and one Dendro unit in the future), plus I still wanna get Ganyu. Rn I'm saving to get C2 Kazuha on 2.8.

On my side, which I started around a month after I started my first account (so at the end of Kazuha's banner), I'm saving for Kazuha, since I wasn't able to get him here. I'll see how many cons I can get, but doubt I'll be able to guarantee C1 (maybe, but barely in that case). Have all the 4*s except Gorou, though idc about him much there because I don't plan on getting Itto in that account. As for 5*s, I have Ganyu, Hu Tao, Ayaka, Raiden, Childe, Venti, Yoimiya and Zhongli. (C0 Diluc and Mona and C3 Jean are my only standards). Here I'm not sure for what else I wanna go for after, for now just Kazuha up to C2, Raiden to C2/C3 and Kokomi and Shenhe for Ayaka. Maybe Ayato too one day but idk.

Finally, my third account is just mostly stuff I know I won't pull in the other two, so far Yae and will get Yelan. Might consider Klee down the road as well, but not sure about it.

I've come a long way, woah. Fun side story: I didn't really want Ayaka much back in the day (as my original post states, actually lmao), but for some reason I was set on getting Chongyun (I think he was the only 4* I was missing). So I pulled so damn much and ended up getting Ayaka, and no Chongyun LOL. Glad I got her though, as she carried me (and still carries me on abyss) through most content.

If anyone actually read this... Good luck on your pulls! Hope you get whatever you want early.

Still can't believe I got Kazuha on pity 44 ajdhjad hhh. Now I'll save until there's a banner with a 5* I really want (Zhongli, Klee, Ganyu, Xiao, Hu Tao or Eula, maybe Albedo, Childe or Venti). I really, really need a good main DPS lmao (my current main DPS are Fischl and Razor lmao, I actually have Keqing but apparently she's better at C4 which honestly I'll never have lol), so I should prioritise Ganyu, Hu Tao, Eula or Xiao, though I really want Zhongli. Not sure if any of the new characters are gonna be main DPS, plus honestly none of them have caught my attention (maybe Ayaka though, I need moar Cryo units).

I also finally got C1 Bennet (right after getting Kazuha) so I feel accomplished. (?) Now I only need to get Diona and more constellations for my Sucrose (currently C1 so not bad) and Xingqiu and I'll be set. Other Cryo sub-DPS or supports would be nice too (though I already have Rosaria...), I surprisingly enough don't have the infamous Qiqi lmao, I got Keqing when I lost my first 50/50.
