Queen Elizabeth in Coronation Robes
Artist: Old Master
Genre: Portrait
Date: circa 1600
Medium: OIl on Panel
Collection: National Portrait Gallery, London
Description
Queen Elizabeth I of England in her coronation robes, patterned with Tudor roses and trimmed with ermine. She wears her hair loose, as traditional for the coronation of a queen, perhaps also as a symbol of virginity. The painting, by an unknown artist, dates to the first decade of the seventeenth century (NPG gives c.1600) and is based on a lost original also by an unknown artist.

King Henry II, last royal portrait before his death in 1998
Born: 1915 - Died: 1998
Reign: 1932-1998
His wife, Queen Mother and Duchess of Sussex, Gwyneth
Born: 1938 - Still living
Married to King Henry II in 1958
He famously disliked sitting for portraits with her in the room.
Together their issue totaled 6 children, with only 3 of them surviving to adulthood-- Rosalinde, Duchess of Worcester (b.1960- ; abdicated, estranged from the royal family), Princess Anne (b.1967- ?), who went missing in 1992 and who has never been found, and King George X (b. 1969- ).
#LORE DROP TIME#c: george x#c: gwyneth#c: henry ii#c: anne the lost#c: rosalinde the estranged#I finally got the dates and stuff for the royal line going back to the 1600s#so the lore will be more consistent going forward lol

Being in fandoms so small there’s not a single fic on AO3 is the worst because there’s like a new layer of being nervous to post any because it’s the first one. I don’t want to be the first one lmao? Cringe?
#have been thinking a lot about S&C fic I’m interested to write#and predictably the characters I want to write about the most are Brittany and Loretta. I stay loving women who don’t get enough screen time#or audio time I guess. because podcast.#wrote 1600 words of Brittany character analysis instead of doing homework today. would do it again.#my posts

1973 Alpine A110 1600S
Price: 98,000 CR, Stock: C/550, Setup: C/600, Color: Factory Blue
Alpine's only offering to the Forza Horizon 5 autoshow is a classic rally racer, boasting a 1605cc inline 4 Renault engine pushing 138 horsepower into a body that weighs less than a ton. In game, this car is also nimble in all terrain types, but the limits of 1970s tech puts this car in C rank. However, for all of the game's roster of rally cars, this one boasts a particularly low price tag.

The Pendle "Witches" existed within the context of a LOT of Catholic recusancy in Lancashire and the "witches" themselves were essentially herbalists and village healers (likely refusing to attend the English Church and taking up communion in secret).
I understand why a lot of fantasy settings with Ambiguously Catholic organised religions go the old "the Church officially forbids magic while practising it in secret in order to monopolise its power" route, but it's almost a shame because the reality of the situation was much funnier.
Like, yes, a lot of Catholic clergy during the Middle Ages did practice magic in secret, but they weren't keeping it secret as some sort of sinister top-down conspiracy to deny magic to the Common People: they were mostly keeping it secret from their own superiors. It wasn't one of those "well, it's okay when we do it" deals: the Church very much did not want its local priests doing wizard shit. We have official records of local priests being disciplined for getting caught doing wizard shit. And the preponderance of evidence is that most of them would take their lumps, promise to stop doing wizard shit, then go right back to doing wizard shit.
It turns out that if you give a bunch of dudes education, literacy, and a lot of time on their hands, some non-zero percentage of them are going to decide to be wizards, no matter how hard you try to stop them from being wizards.
