Carefully, Daniel put his hand on her shoulder. “Okay, but you’re going to come have dinner with me anyway.” He’d never let a friend be by themselves when they were having a hard time, and it was obvious that she was. But he wouldn’t push either. Daniel knew it wasn’t his job to save everyone, but he could be there.

When she feels his hand on her shoulder, Charlie relaxes a bit more slightly, reaching up to lay a gentle hand over his, thankful for the comfort from a friend. “Well, when you put it like that, how can I say no?” She lightly jokes, putting on her best smile as she nods.

Safe and Sound

He could feel them pulsing in his hands as he came back to conscious thought.

He could feel both the blood and exoplasm smeared across his body. Tears streamed down his face as they obstructed his vision. The two cores of the last people he has left.

Dante's dealt with a doomed timeline before but he never thought it would be this one. Danny's luck had finally run out just like his did. He hadn't seen his old family or friends any long time but their deaths had made his old wounds turn new again. 

Sam and Tucker died a month ago trying to save Danny from the GIW. Jazz died trying to get Danny out of that Stupid basement lab that was killing him all over again. Even Vlad was dead after trying to appeal to Maddie and Jack's morals that they seem to have lost because he was shot dead.

Dante has to leave.

Jack and Maddie are dead alongside the GIW. He has made sure of that. He needs a shower and a very long nap but he doesn't think he can move with them in his hands.

A thought occurs to him. It's stupid and fleeting but it's there. it would change so much but it might give him his family back.

Dante draws his hands with the cores closer to his abdomen and takes a deep breath. He feels the cores draw closer to him without him moving and lets them sink into his body.

He feels the tears start to fall down his face all over again.

Dante can feel there hurt and confusion. He can feel the pain that they went through that feels worse than his own death. He powers through with the knowledge that if this works he'll get his family back.

He was told years ago by Frostbite when he was still Danny himself  that ghosts sometimes incubate cores of injured ghosts. It was mostly an off-handed remark but was brought up because halfa can only incubate other halfa.

Dante tries to think of the benefits of the incubation. To soothe himself and both of them. it'll probably stabilize Dani. They won't have to go through the process of healing while they're conscious of the pain. He can keep them safe nestled right next to his own core without the worry of losing them or hurting them.

Dante steals himself as the pain and hurt slowly disappears. He refuses to let them be hurt again.

Dante will go through all of that estate and homes to figure out where the farthest away from Amity Park he can go. He will take a shower, eat and then take a hard-earned nap without worrying about the last remains of his family dying out of his sight again.

tbh since there're two timelines for this AU there should be two versions for each character one for Origins and for Lost Memories but I'm gonna be working on Lost Memories first since well that's what I'm most motivated on at the moment.
