140 days of productivity: day 11/140
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had an unusual morning: I went birdwatching for the first time! I woke up very early and joined the group at sunrise. I had never used binoculars before and found it difficult to use them because I wear glasses, but everything worked out in the end.
I was able to see in detail species that I like since I was a kid, such as the great kiskadee, the Brazilian ovenbird, the bananaquit, the Chalk-browed Mockingbird, the rufous-bellied thrush, the scissor-tailed hummingbird, the swallow, the vulture and the crested caracara, and I finally learned the names of birds that I had only known by sight, such as the eared dove, the masked water-tyrant, the blue Dacnis, the golden-crowned warbler and the creamy-bellied thrush. I also saw marmosets, although they were not the focus of the tour.
When I got home there was little to do - I organized a few things, prepared lunch, took a shower and went to a beautiful Yoruba rite called Obalujé, dedicated to the orisha of healing and health Obaluayê. Oba means “the king”, lu means “the lord” and ayê means “the ground” — therefore, he’s the lord of the earth. We danced together and sang beautiful songs to him and we ate his favorite foods. It was amazing to be part of that.

are there any fics where Blaine has a reaction to Kurt’s shirt for the born this way performance
Here you are - we do have them under tab 2X18, and I have added some more! ~Jen
What you do to me by skintightsocks (aka slightestwind)
Blaine didn't even know Santana had his number, but at some point she obviously entered herself as "SAN-FUCKING-TANA" in his phone, because there she is. The text just says "enjoy" but there's a video attached, and Blaine clicks play on reflex before he even thinks about the fact that Santana, being Santana, may have very well have just sent him porn. (It's not porn. Well, not in the strictest sense. It's something even worse.) Blaine watches the video four times before he walks stiffly to his car, his blazer folded over his arm and held discreetly in front of him.

May I introduce to you my headcanons for Duke and Danny
Let’s start with Danny cause he changed the most [kinda]
The Fentons are a mixed Filipino-Cuban family [Maddie-Jack] b/c I wanted to [I am not Filipino or Cuban so if I mess up somewhere please tell me!] Jazz, Danny and Maddie all grew up learning and speaking Tagalog
Maddie and Alicia are Filipino-American & 3rd gen immigrants, their family name is Palad
Alicia’s farm was something their aunt had owned then later left to Alicia since her kids didn’t want it
Jack’s mom Olivia nee Castro was Cuban and his dad Rupert Fenton was white [that’s the Fenton-Nightingale side]
Danny is transmasc and has been presenting as such for awhile now
As like a general assumption, the Fentons aren't Horrible vivisect their child kind of parents in most of my AUs, they just aren't perfect half the time
Now onto Duke!
Duke is Nigerian, with both Elaine and Gnomon being centuries old for the most part [depends on AU but before Europeans started their bullshit]
Duke speaks an old dialect of Hausa that Elaine and Gnomon had grown up with and one he grew speaking it along with English
His adopted Dad Doug Thomas is Black, and he has an Aunt and Uncle Tracy & Alvin Jackson who live and in Bludhaven
Duke’s cousin [who’s cannon] Jay Jackson is a decade or so older than Duke and his legal guardian after his parents couldn’t do so
Duke still lives with the Wayne’s sometimes [they were his foster family until Jay could get custody] just jumping between each
The We Are Robin gang are still together but no longer as a group of vigilantes but as friends
I call them The Flock and they each have their own bird nicknames, Izzy|Fieldfare, Riki|-Galerinda, Dax|Alaemon, Andre|Blackbird, Dracy-Joanna “DJ”|Sparrow
They had another member Troy|Warbler he died during the Robin Wars when he was trying to defuse a bomb, it was rigged to blow anyway
Tumblr media
Danny does this thing where he just stares at Duke for prolonged periods of time
Duke thought he’d be bothered by it but he actually likes it alot, for Danny to just look at him like he’s his only light
Danny’s always had dysphoria around his body, especially after he started to become more ghostly
Duke always thought he was beautiful and would tell him as such, he loved to watch Danny blush like a fool at his words
I’ve always thought of Danny as a romantic, he’s the type of person to do anything for his partner
He thrives off of physical affection and word of affirmation
Duke is also kinda romantic but he finds it difficult to do physical things, when he truly loves a person he holds them alot, taking their hand, hugging them, things like that
He loves to get things from people he loves, and acts of service
These two are made for each other I swear

When it comes to Brittany S. Pierce, people’s interpretations are all over the place. It ranges anywhere from <3 innocent babie <3, to severely cognitively impaired, to manipulative liar who pretends to be stupid so others obey their will (which Ill later accuse her mother of, but that’s neither here nor there). Anyways, I’m adding my opinion into the cacophony because, despite the indecisive fanbase, thorough Brittany meta is lacking in quantity. Also, I tend to think my opinion is best, as is human nature.
This analysis is rooted in autistic!Brittany, and while its unnecessary since I’ll go through many of her autistic characteristics, here’s a post detailing the headcanon and a medical article describing the diagnostic criteria in simple terms if you’re unfamiliar with the disorder. I understand that not everybody considers Britt neurodivergent, and that’s totally fine - I’m always up for a healthy conversation/debate! - but please give me a heads up if you plan to respond critically because a lot of this is based on my own experiences as an autistic teenage girl, so unmentioned critiques can feel personal fast. Now without further ado:
A Deep Dive Into Brittany S. Pierce <3
Auditory Processing Disorder “APD” is a subdivision of Sensory Processing Disorder “SPD” which is a quintessential element of an autism diagnosis. APD is pretty much exactly what it sounds (haha pun) like: despite somebody’s hearing abilities, the brain fails to process auditory input properly. The APD trait I hear discussed most in autism spaces is the inability to filter out background noises, but Britt seems to struggle most with interpreting meaning from words. Sometimes when people talk to me (“dolphins are just gay sharks”), even though they’re speaking clearly and I’m very literate in English, it sounds like jumbled nonsense (“dulfanz-our-goost-gae-shorcks”). This accounts for what I’m calling Brittany’s “so close you can taste it” lines. Think of her claim that Christopher Cross discovered America or that O is the capital of Ohio; a man named Christopher C. is indeed credited with discovering America and O is the only capital letter in Ohio. As a whole, they often misunderstand things told to them directly, and it seems a lot less foolish if she only understood half of what was being said via APD.
I’m calling the category of Brittany lines that can’t usually be rationalized as possible by anybody over seven (e.g. Rory the leprechaun, storks delivering babies, and anything with Lord Tubbington) the “stranger than fanfiction lines.” Now, I could take these at face value and say she’s tapping into a magical dimension, but I have my own set of autism driven realism issues, so, without a pre-existing fantasy world, I’m using my significant brainpower to twist Brittany into plausibility =D I ultimately think the best explanation for the stranger than fanfiction lines is echolalia. Echolalia is the repetition of words or phrases, and it’s usually associated with autism. Autistic people often reuse other people’s words, and since we usually think in pictures and have various social communication problems, it’s easier than formulating new sentences. Or we just like the tongue movements/sound a word makes. Personally, I quote songs a lot - if you say something loosely related to a Taylor Swift, musical, or Glee lyric, chances are I’ll sing it - and dipsomaniacal is a new fave to say randomly. There’s some evidence for Britt doing this in canon, unrelated to the stranger than fanfiction lines. While Brittany is known for calling him Blaine Warbler, it actually originated from Rachel and the infamous spin the bottle kiss. They also repeat ‘uber weird after Blaine in the That’s So Rachel reading, and the last line of that scene is them talking in time with Blaine, a behavior seen in S1 with Santana. However, it interests me most that she calls Artie a robot, as we see her dad call Stephen Hawkin, another wheelchair user, a robot in S6.
Basically, I blame the Pierces for how terribly adjusted their child is <3 (Mostly Whitney. Assuming Pierce actually has an IQ of 40, he’s disabled too and deserves some slack in terms of spreading misinformation.) In her admittedly limited screen time, Whitney manages to do two positive things: be an LGBTQ+ ally and let her younger daughter do soccer, I guess. Otherwise, she kept the truth about Stephen Hawking from Brittany for 20 years, cheated on her husband on their honeymoon for claiming infertility, crapped in random barns, insulted her husband’s intelligence, publicly insulted her husband’s appearance, and arguably restricted her daughter’s intellectual growth. To be honest, I realize Whitney isn’t that deep and I don’t actually hate her, but if people can hate Brittany for being a comedic character from the 2010s, I’ll do the same thing to their mother in defense of Brittany. Fight stop the violence with violence, baby! Anyways, I don’t think echolalia alone can explain the stranger than fanfiction lines. At least, not without a source. And that’s usually where upbringing comes in.
I’m ruling out nature automatically because there aren’t chromosomes telling people to believe in unicorns. Well, some people - including autistic people (hehe see what I’m doing here?) - are more inclined to believe falsehoods, but falsehoods have to be fed by someone else. With autism, the reckless believing tendencies come from literal thinking in part. Also, since SPD makes processing the outside world difficult, we often can’t recognize “obvious” truths in the first place. My extended family hated watching movies with me because I used to ask questions every five seconds lol. Setting Pierce aside because he seems to follow Whitney blindly; Brittany’s unnamed sister, Sue, and Whitney are the remaining suspects.
I assume Brittany’s sister is significantly younger than Britt because she played soccer with a seven-year-old in S1 (technically she could’ve been the coach, but that throws off my theory that the Klaine/Brittana wedding was child free), and children aren’t clever or mean enough to throw off anybody’s world view so badly :) Sue does seem the obvious answer, but she didn’t meet Brittany until they started high school, and she’s consistently baffled by Britt’s behavior despite encouraging her own eccentricities in the other Cheerios. And that leaves Whitney as the perpetrator, blaming her Scientology and gambling addiction on a cat.
Finally, I do think there’s a few times when Brittany intended for her jokes to be jokes. I don’t think it happens as much as you might expect, but there’s a scene in S3 when JBI is interviewing Brittany about her class president candidacy, and she tells him she’s voting for Rick “The Stick” Nelson before turning to Santana and laughing that clued me in. I think the mentality behind these lines (the “pun intended” category) is best explained with an anecdote from my own childhood.
When I was little - maybe six or seven - I really wanted to be funny. Well, I wanted to be liked, and since I didn’t understand social cues, my solution was humor because I knew my dad told jokes which made me laugh, which made him likable! Unfortunately, as a literal thinking child, I had no idea how to do this, which meant I parroted the only joke I knew (“What time is it when an elephant sits on the table?” “Time to get a new table!”) in hopes of chuckles. This went about as badly as you would expect. After a while, my parents got rightfully fed up with this joke and got me a joke book. I had no sense which of these jokes were funny, which wasn’t helped by most of the book being about taxes, bad marriages, and other stuff aimed at adults.
It wasn’t until a routine walk to the convenient store that my comedy dreams were fulfilled. My dad, little sister, and I used to walk to the “snack store” to buy a drink each and share a candy bar. While we had some routine favorites, we also tried out new candies together. However, there were a few bars my dad refused to buy because he’d disliked them prior to our snack store outings. Most infamous of these forbidden fruits was the Zero Bar. We tended to reference the Zero Bar when picking our next treat, and on this fateful day I said, “It’s called the Zero Bar because zero people like it.”
And my dad laughed. He laughed because of something I’d said. I was elated!
The only catch up was I hadn’t actually intended it as a joke. After all my attempts to be funny, the only thing that apparently worked was speaking my mind. This singular incident didn’t rewire my understanding of humor - I attempted the parroting tactic with the Zero Bar joke after all - but it’s the most pivotal moment in my mind. To this day, I play up my neurodivergent thought process to make others laugh. I reference Glee at seemly unrelated times with mock enthusiasm to callback times I’ve mentioned Glee with real enthusiasm or talk about my other interests in forced monotones.
There isn’t any actual evidence that Brittany has the same weird complex about humor, but some of their interactions regarding stupidity parallel it. In general, when they’re away from Santana, Brittany appears fairly insecure about her neurodivergence. I might even go as far as to say that she doesn’t joke without Santana around. Now, I don’t think Britt knows what her atypicalities are until they’re presumably diagnosed at M.I.T., but every neurodivergent person I know knew something was wrong before being diagnosed. (I want to talk about how Blaine’s diagnosed autism is a foil for Brittany’s undiagnosed autism at some point, but you didn’t sign up for autistic!Blaine, so now isn’t the time.)
Anddd, that’d pretty much it for now :) I intend to write more in depth Brittany meta in the future, but this is a decent overview for the time being. I hope this made you think, and I’d love to hear your thoughts if it did!

Have you always wanted to find out what Kurt writes in his diary? Now is your chance! But, ssssht! Don't tell Kurt we stole it... ;)
Read chapter 6 now, below the cut and also on AO3 and S&C!
Read from the beginning
UPDATE: Now also with art under the cut!
Type
Dear Journal,
I met someone.
We had to put together a group number in Glee Club and the boys were being their obnoxious selves again, so I decided to take Puck’s advice and go spy on the Warblers. As much as I wished they would have just taken me seriously, I can’t say I regret how things worked out today.
I never used to think I had a type, but the boy I met while I was walking around Dalton Academy, hoping against hope that nobody would kick me out, seems to tick every box I never knew existed.
He is handsome in a Hollywood Golden Age style, and managed to express a sense of individualism while wearing a boring standard private school uniform. He is also very kind, as was proven by him taking me out for coffee instead of kicking me out when I got made as a spy.
And that song he sang… I don’t think I’ll ever listen to Katy Perry the same way again. I can’t be sure without asking (which I will never do), but at times I could swear he was singing it to me. His voice was so smooth and rich and I can definitely see how he would be the lead singer with all his charisma.
Even his name is perfect. Blaine Anderson. Blaine and Kurt. Kurt and Blaine. That sounds pretty great, doesn’t it?
Dad said to get used to going at it alone until I found someone as brave as myself. I don’t think I’m particularly brave, but what if I don’t have to do it alone? What if I can have the typical teenage experience all my classmates are having?
I’m a bit scared to get my hopes up. Blaine may be gay, but that doesn’t mean he automatically likes me.
I think I could really fall in love with him. Oh please, Blaine. Please like me back…
~ Kurt
Thanks for reading! ♡♡♡

And That’s What Your Really Missed S1E3 Acafellas
So I started listening to Showmance and those old recap episodes and what I thought would be fun is to listen to Showmance’s coverage of episodes before the And That’s What You Really Missed one comes out. That way I’m really able to hear the difference or lack thereof that nearly three years of distance makes for Jenna and Kevin. I can’t promise to do a summary like this for every episode but I listened to both podcast eps on Acafellas today so here goes my recap of two recaps.
First off, Jenna and Kevin are doing an A/B/C plot structure from now on instead of a scene-by-scene recap, which I wholeheartedly support. It flows much better and cuts the awkwardness by at least 30%. They talked about dreading it but have a better opinion than they thought they would, and I can confirm they were overall less happy about Acafellas during their Showmance episode. Even back then they highlighted the Mercedes plot being the best part, including Bust Your Windows.
What was new/different:
They talk about being in Australia when Acafellas premiered, something they didn’t touch on at all in Showmance. Recounts of nights out, hangovers, and the enthusiasm of Australian fans.
John Lloyd Young, who played no-thumbed Henri St. Pierre was Lea Michele’s boyfriend at the time. Did not know that.
Cheyenne Jackson was supposed to play Dakota Stanley but got the flu. He later went on to play Dustin Goolsby.
More of an appreciation for the adult storyline - well, not appreciation. They just get it more why the show decided to have a Will/adults A plot. Even in Showmance they talked about these early episodes playing to established strengths like Matt Morrison’s boyband past.
They mentioned less of the Unholy Trinity’s/Quinntana’s scheming here and in Showmance they noted how cruel they were for setting Mercedes up for failure. They also didn’t spend as much time talking about the Sandy of it all.
Some of the talking points touched on during both podcast episodes:
Shelby Shum being one of the Vocal Adrenaline dancers.
Kevin and Amber bonding over loving Jazmine Sullivan and suggesting they covered her songs.
They highlighted the Quinntana duo and Naya having more to do during both eps; in Showmance they lamented that Dianna and Naya didn’t get to act together as much later on. Big mood.
Overall I think they talked more about Kurtcedes in Showmance as well but they again emphasized how great a friend Mercedes is and how big a deal Kurt’s coming out was. Also talked about Amber and Hemo melting blowing everyone away with their singing/dancing respectively.
Tartie takes:
Cringe moment: dancing, Acafellas, straight vibes
Favourite song: Bust Your Windows, ofc
Best line: Sue’s armpits and smelling of failure line
Best performance from a prop: vomit into the trashcan/rock in the windshield
Didn’t age well: Sandy/Dakota’s insults
Shit we found on TikTok:
This one was strange, it was just a TikTok pointing out funny side character names in the credits like Super Gay Warbler and Other Gay Warbler in season 6. No real commentary on it other than it’s funny.
The TikTok segment still feels unnecessary but I like the flow of the pod better now. I also don’t know if this is a very recent thing but Kevin’s audio is decidedly better than it was at the beginning. They might have recorded this one at the studio. They teased this week’s guest episode at the end and I can only assume it’ll be Mike O’Malley. Could be Dianna based on the Preggers buildup and Chris already having guessed but they mentioned the Kurt plot of the next ep, not the Quinn one, hence my Burt guess.

Nature Interpretation through Music
Hello Everyone,
I thought this was an interesting topic to read about. Music plays a role in many of our lives and it’s interesting to see it from a different perspective. Music is all around us in every possible crack and crevice. I use music to get away from the daily hustle and bustle. It clears my mind and just lets me relax. Now to think where music is in nature the answer is its everywhere. Whether you’re in the boreal forest listening to sparrows, warblers, chickadees, and others chirping along to the rustling of wind in the Sahara Desert to the middle of the Pacific Ocean where humpback whales produce sounds to communicate. We cannot escape it. Gray et al. (2001) discusses the many forms of music used by different species and how everyone has their own sort of way of showing it. Some are obvious like humans and birds but others such as whales are difficult to interpret. Gray et al. (2001) mentioned that the song structure used by whales is similar to ABA form which is also used in many differing songs by humans. We also have other forms such as AABA, ABAB, AAB and others. Furthermore gray et al. (2001) talks about a universal music that is waiting to be discovered. Imagine if we could discover this universal music. It would open so many possibilities. What would be the first thing you would do if there was a universal music?
Now let’s talk about where nature is in music. Mallarach (2012) mentions on page 130 that folk singing performances may offer the community with new strengthened meanings with links to the surrounding nature. The music is being performed to specifically connect individuals with nature. The nature is the reason the songs were made in the first place. Mallarach (2012) further goes to explains on page 130 that specific messages can be placed within songs to better communicate to the audience. These folk songs and many other songs from around the globe are created to show meaning and to remember the beauty and sacrifice that the land and nature has gone through. Songs hold scaredness. The ways these songs communicate towards the audience changes people views. Different instruments, vocals, pitches, and other music terms presented can alter a song and change where meaning is placed. In what ways can different instruments, forms, rhythm, and others alter that way a song is perceived?
I live in a small town in the country so really any songs related to country music bring me back to natural landscapes. I just imagine the times where I was working outdoors, helping my parents, or going on a road trip. It was always country music. Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and many others. They just have a certain vibe that makes me feel at home. Driving down the road windows down country music blaring basking in the sunshine just admiring the open landscape, different crops, and the beauty all around me. What are your favourite types of music?

Even if we ignore the colonialism of this, it's still fucked and represents a wider problem with "green" actions.
Israel destroys deserts and arid biomes to create forests with no regard for their ecological importance. In fact many people worldwide view deserts and shrubland as ecological dead spots with no benefit to the environment when it couldn't be further from the truth.
" Deserts are one of the top three richest biomes for terrestrial vertebrates, with a quarter of species, totalling almost 7000, found there. Three percent of these species are only found in desert environments – many of which have developed various adaptations to help them survive in environments where rainfall may be mere millimetres per year. " - source
"Shrublands are important for providing ecosystem services such as soil conservation, carbon sequestration and provision of habitats for wildlife. Biodiversity in shrublands can enhance the capacity of the ecosystem to provide these ecosystem services." - source
Semi-arid southern Israel is made up of loess soils and grasslands, the earth a dusty mix of sand and clay, devoid of trees but harboring often-rare sages and other herbaceous grasses and shrubs. Being frequently used for sheep pastures, they may not look much like prized ecosystems, says Alon Rothschild director of biodiversity at the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI). But, he says, they are a meeting place between desert and Mediterranean ecosystems and comprise “two of the rarest and most threatened habitats in Israel.” They teem with ground-nesting birds and specially adapted reptiles.
Plants that Rothschild says are at risk from the spreading tree cover at Yatir include the dark-brown iris, Iris atrofusca; an endemic daffodil, Allium kollmannianum; and remnants of the most southerly population of a species of wild wheat. Among the animals disappearing as the trees encroach are endemic Be’er Sheva fringe-fingered lizards, Acanthodactylus beershebensis. Several species of ground-nesting birds — including pin-tailed sandgrouse (Pterocles alchata) and shrub-nesters such as the spectacled warbler (Sylvia conspicillata) — are also in decline, preyed upon by crows and jays.
“Reptiles need sun,” says Rothschild. “Trees take away the sun and provide branches where [predatory birds] can sit looking for lunch.”
Many of these species are officially protected. But Rothschild claims the KKL-JNF is rarely called to account for damaging their habitats, only 4 percent of which have any national protection. And Rothschild notes that Yatir is not the only KKL-JNF desert forestation program. Others include smaller woodland projects such as Lahav and Beeri, both also in the Negev.
In the midst of Israel’s assault on Gaza, Zionist organisations have been pushing out Israel green ad propaganda to UK web users. In particular, these ask for donations to plant trees in Israel – even while the Zionist state continues its destruction of the Gaza strip. Some ads specifically solicit these donations to plant trees in Israeli settlements on the Gaza border. The Canary identified at least 22 such ads from three notable Zionist organisations plugging tree-planting programmes. Crucially, these were all ads that the organisations have launched since Israel began its bombardment. The Jewish National Fund UK (JNF UK), Holy Land Tree, and Israel Trees – otherwise known as Zo Artzeinu – are each running these ads. Many of these are still active at the time of publication.

SOME BIRDS FROM MONTAUK, SUFFOLK CO.; NY
During New Year's Eve & the New Year we were at Montauk. The weather was extremely pleasant (7-12º C), unusual for this time of the year (Dec 2022 - Jan 2023). Of of course I had the chance to take some photos of some bird species.
1-Trumpeter Swan, rare sighting in the area.
2-Red-breasted Nuthatch. Handsome little devil seen at Napeague SP.
3-Palm Warbler. Another rarity in the area. This individual was found on a empty lot in downtown Montauk. It is probably the Western race.

porcelainperformer asked:
❝ i think i need to lie down. ❞
he was worried this might happen. kurt hasn’t looked great all day, and especially since the start of rehearsal. but he’d insisted he was fine when blaine asked, so he didn’t push; maybe he was just homesick. living in dorms with two hundred other people was definitely a change of pace for an only child.
the words seem to be whispered a bit, meant only for blaine’s ears. ❝ okay. that’s okay. ❞ whispered back, a quick hand tapping kurt’s shoulder before finding wes. ❝ can you take over for a bit? thanks. ❞ attention is brought quickly back to kurt, an arm wrapping loosely around his back. ❝ come on. ❞
Tumblr media
the dorms are just down the hall from where they’re at, and luckily kurt’s is one of the closest. ❝ what’s going on? ❞ he walks slow, keeps an arm near kurt’s back in case the worst were to happen. he looks pale, even more so than usual, and his stance isn’t as poised as he usually keeps it. ❝ you just wanna go back to the dorm? or i can call the nurse if you need to find a spot on the floor. just... let me know, okay? ❞ it’s a situation he’s vaguely familiar with, his mother having quite a few health issues of her own. he knows enough to stay calm.

Hi @spaceorphan18, if I throw my opinion in:
So I told myself that after their Box Scene comments that I would stop listening to the podcast, because it was annoying me more than I was enjoying it. Then when I read today that they would be addressing their views on Blaine, Klaine and Darren, I thought ok one more time just to hear what they had to say.
I have to say I thought they came across as unbelievable , it all felt a bit feigned, like “throw our hands up in horror and shock” how can people possibly think we hate… Jenna was particularly false, like when Kevin mentioned it, she acted like they hadn’t even discussed it in advance. I still think they deliberately avoided talking about Blaine and Klaine.
Their denial felt like someone asking a toddler had he eaten the chocolate cake, and him answering no!, but his face is smeared with chocolate cake. (I then found it somewhat amusing that next question they answered who they would be friends with - and they mentioned Kurt several times, Mercedes, Finn (because he is so lovely to people, and Sam because well it’s Chord. Not Blaine again…) - and yes I’d worked out Kevin can’t distinguish between actor and character. (Oh he’s outed Santana and been a shit to Blaine - but what a lovely guy Finn is, and oh how wonderful Girls just want to have fun is. Even the Santana fans must have went eek).
Why do I think they’re like this, well maybe because as you say they weren’t in a lot of scenes with them and they haven’t much to talk about. But Jenna said back in season two that she hated the Warblers (aka Blaine and the pips) because they took her screen time away. Also maybe there didn’t want to wake the infamous Klagon - they didn’t want to make it all about Klaine because there was much more they wanted to discuss about the show, and they feared the Klaine fandom would try and take over! But I think they’ve underestimated what people wanted to hear, and it’s come across as just rudeness and resentment of Blaine, Klaine and even Darren. Cslling the box scene lacklustre just came across as criticism of D & C’s work.
They could have done a lot more with the podcast, a bit more research into what was actually being dealt with each episode, and been a bit less biased about choosing their own songs or scenes as the best of the week. There’s other things I could nitpick about, but maybe I should just shut up and stop listening. (Like telling half stories such as the Eddie Redmayne one but then not being prepared to name who said it. Or who Kevin hooked up with. Frankly I don’t care who or what went on, I’d rather not know, but don’t fuel the fire and have people jump to assumptions and stir up old wounds.)
As a piece of first hand media about bts of a successful tv show, it’s been so disappointing.
It will be interesting to hear how they deal with the Blaine/Klaine heavy episodes coming up, but I think I’ll opt out of listening as they drive me crazy.
Kevin and Jenna - we don’t hate Blaine or Klaine

Okay. The Kevin and Jenna thing.
Let's talk about it. Mostly, I'm going to repeat a lot of what I said : HERE. After listening to the clip, my thoughts are exactly what they were originally...
I'm going to guess, after the box scene stuff kinda was the straw that broke the camel's back, the producers finally went, hey guys -- we have a lot of unhappy Klaine fans, you need to address this. (And/or - probably and - they did get a lot of email about it.) So, they addressed the Klaine thing.
(As an aside - the transcript, for me, was exactly how I thought they'd sound, and listening to it confirmed it? Just putting that in the fwiw category.)
but anyway, like I said in my original thoughts on the whole thing -- I think I was correct in saying that Kevin and Jenna have been latching on to things they were a part of and they remember and kind of glossing over the rest of it. Layer into that -- they have a strong affection for Naya (and to Cory) who are both no longer with us, and even though we may think that Santana is terrible or Finn makes dumb decisions, that actor/character bleed does happen for them.
And I've always found that fair.
I've said it before, but, I think it's like when Darren decided to rewatch Never Been Kissed -- and he literally ended up fastfowarding through things that weren't related to the Kurt/Blaine story line. And he expressed fondness for Dot, etc, etc, but his memories were about his story line, and that's what he focused on.
And I think that's what Kevin and Jenna are doing, too.
Now, I will ding them with the fact that they are supposed to be being a little more professional about it (Darren was just doing it for fun) but from what I could tell based on my own experiences -- they only have 'x' amount of time in the studio, and just are not organized and proficient in the same way as -- say The Office Ladies or Pod Meets World are. So things are going to get glossed over -- and those things are things they have no emotional attachment to.
I don't think they realized they were doing it -- which is why they are finding it so funny now. I don't think there was any conspiracy behind it. And I don't think it was deliberate. I do think they're going to be ever so slightly asshole-ish about it going forward because they are more aware of it now. But I think everything they said on the podcast kind of goes back to what I said in my original post way back when.
That's my two cents.
(Also, another minor aside nitpick - they claimed that Ryan himself edited the box scene out of the episode which I find unlikely. I think the editor edited out because of time and... that's it. Kind of like they did with Santa Baby. I just think Kevin and Jenna were being salty about being called out on about a beloved deleted scene and wanted to dig in their heels a little there. But again, they weren't there on the fandom side, and they don't know.)
Alright I'll shut up now.
