Okay, so like, Kyouka was actually in the Mafia for a while, even if she only started working (murdering) for them more recently.

After all, her parents were killed three years ago. And it stands to reason that she was at least taken in by them not too long after. Especially as she had to undergo training before they started letting her take on missions.

So she must have known Chuuya, right? Kouyou was chosen to be her main mentor and it’s been mentioned (in the LN) that Verlaine helped train her as well. With the same mentor and her having trained with his brother, I can’t see how she wouldn’t have known Chuuya.

That’s what really makes me start thinking though.

It was 6 months ago that she met Akutagawa and started taking on missions for the Mafia.

And who, also 6 months ago, was sent on a long-term overseas mission?

Chuuya.

I don’t know, it probably isn’t connected, but I do find it interesting that Kyouka apparently only started doing missions and assassinations right when Chuuya would have been gone.

And we have yet another pair that I would love to see interact in canon.

okay but to be quite fair rei's relationship with gender as portrayed on their route is so. idk how to explain it but the fact that their gender identity + expression was shaped by everything around them from their family to their school to their community..... and how rei found a community of people that loved them and accepted them and were just like them..... ough. yeah.

rei embracing both feminity and masculinity but ultimately embracing both to accept themselves as they are,,, now that we have confirmation that rei didn't, in fact, lean towards being 10000% masculine at the end and that they would keep exploring and experimenting with their expression, it feels so much more real, like the end of their route marks not the closing of all doors that lead to gender nonconformity, but instead, the opening of all doors, a landmark of the complex trans experience.........

It's been a while since I updated on The Comic Bang/Live-action c-drama Gekkan Shojo Nozaki-kun stuff. But their official weibo just posted the following message:

We miss you guys! Hoping to see you this summer.

iQiyi has yet announced their official Q3 line-up but The Comic Bang is listed as the first title in their "TV drama coming soon" category. An official date should be dropping any moment now.

For overseas fans, please head to iQiyi's international homepage for more. Now would be a good time to figure out from your side of the world how to subscribe and watch the drama as soon as it drops.

The series is currently listed as 38 episodes though this may not be final.

In the meantime, a recent variety series titled "Joyful Grown-ups" dropped on MangoTV (that''s a totally different platform so you might have to figure that one out as well) featuring Shen Yue, Wang Jingxuan, Wu Yuheng and Zhou Yanchen (plus some of their other friends).

Basically what happened was that the actors for Sakura, Nozaki, Wakamatsu and Mikoshiba met on the set of The Comic Bang and formed a deep friendship. They began making travel vlogs together even after the series finished filming. The vlogs became so popular, they got their own variety show which is basically hour-long vlogs of them just doing fun things together. It's not scripted, and they almost do everything (music, filming, etc) on their own. I haven't got around to watch the whole thing yet, but for those who want to get to know more about the Chinese cast (and these are lovely kids) or when that eventual post-finale blues hit you, this is something to put on the watch later list.

I'll post again when more info drops about the series! Signal boost so our fellow fans never miss anything!
