After a long day of work, Monty’s head was a little all over the place. He had more patients than ever - all with mild symptoms that he attributed to either adjusting to the base’s food or homesickness. Nevertheless, he snapped back to reality when he walked in on the other man handling a weapon. “This looks dangerous... is now a good time to say that I come in peace?” Monty joked as he made his way over to the table Alexei was pointing at. 

“Either way, if we ever get alien invaders here, I’m hiding behind you. In return I can offer lots of moral support during your battle.” Monty brought him the adhesive, setting it down on the table in front of him. “I’m always a big fan of a little tension,” he said, smiling brightly over at him. “What exactly are you doing to this?” 

"Hey, you." Alexei stands tall, strong as he tightens a bolt on a weapon he was repairing. His upbringing had taught him a couple of valuable lessons, one being 'waste not, want not'. He wasn't as adept as an engineer in weapon repair and modification, but he'd learned how to MacGyver a thing or two in his time.

"That strong adhesive," He nods toward to the table nearby. "Bring it here, I need to keep the tension."

          part  of  alexei  wonders  if  gabe  is  even  fully  aware  of  what  he’s  doing  to  him,  if  he’s  even  aware  of  the  fact  that  he’s  had  a  crush  the  size  of  texas  on  him  for  the  longest  time  imaginable.  he’s  positive  he  doesn’t  remember  him  (  either  that,  or  he’s  really  good  at  pretending  ),  either  way,  he  hasn’t  brought  up  anything,  so  alexei  is  sure  he  has  no  idea  who  he  is.  not  that  he  blames  him,  though.  if  he  looked  the  way  gabe  did,  he  wouldn’t  bother  to  remember  someone  he  met  ages  ago,  let  alone  crush  on  them.  he’s  been  in  here  everyday  for  the  past  week,  almost  as  if  he  was  taunting  him.  alexei  notices  he  brings  a  snack  each  time  he  comes.  one  day  it’s  cookies,  another  day  it’s  fruits,  another  day  it’s  little  powdered  sandwiches  (  which,  after  extensive  googling,  alexei  found  out  they  are  called  alfajores  ),  the  other  day  it’s  fruit  again,  one  day  he  bought  mini  tamales,  and  he  seems  to  alternate  between  a  mixture  of  sweets  and  high  carb  snacks,  fruits,  and  occasionally  vegetables,  as  if  he’s  trying  to  maintain  his  weight  and  follow  a  routine  of  not  bringing  sweets  or  foods  high  in  fat  every  time  he  comes.  smart,  but  not  like  he  particularly  needs  it.  he  doesn’t  think  he’s  seen  someone  more  physically  capable  in  years.  

          each  time,  alexei  finds  himself  looking  over  to  him,  trying  to  muster  up  the  courage  to  start  a  conversation.  they’ve  spoken  a  few  times  after  the  first  time  he  saw  him  in  here,  but  part  of  him  wishes  they  would  speak  more.  he  wants  to  get  to  know  him.  his  dreams,  his  aspirations,  his  fears,  his  favorite  food,  even  the  bad  and  the  ugly  stuff  –  he  wants  to  know  it  all,  as  if  hyper  fixated  on  something  he’s  sure  will  never  happen.  a  panic  attack  later  last  night,  and  he’s  back  to  blonde  again,  after  weeks  of  having  black  hair.  as  pathetic  as  it  may  sound,  he  actually  bothered  to  make  him  cookies  this  morning.  he  would  have  to  stay  up  extra  late  to  finish  the  homework  he  missed  with  doing  this,  but  he  hopes  it  will  be  worth  it  to  see  the  look  on  his  face.  he  is  so  pretty,  it’s  unfair  to  alexei.  just  as  he  anticipated,  he  comes  in  at  the  same  time  he  does  everyday.  alexei  waits  a  solid  twenty  minutes  before  he  finally  approaches  him,  mentally  telling  himself  to  act  cool.  “hi,”  he  says,  tone  sweet,  accent  soft,  as  usual,  “i,  um,”  that’s  not  very  cool  of  you,  alexei,  “i  made  you…  some  cookies.”  he  tells  him,  bringing  out  a  little  box  filled  with  muffin  top  chocolate  chip  cookies,  soft  and  warm,  made  from  scratch.  “i  just…  saw  you  bring  a  pack  sometimes,  so…”  he  sets  them  down  in  the  table  in  front  of  him,  “here  you  go.”  he  tries,  but  probably  fails,  not  to  marvel  at  the  other.  “i  hope  that’s  um,  i–i  hope  that’s  okay.”

“We will make it work. I promise.” Hmmm maybe a new duo!?

"People keep saying that, but I do no see anything working in the foreseeable future," Alexei sighed heavily before leaning against the chair. He was tired, he was angry, and most of all he wanted people to stop fussing over him now. No longer was he a child and did not need to be treated as such. They had survived the murder of their close friend and a revolution, his youngest and oldest sisters married.

"I need out of this mad house," he pinched the bridge of his nose then before turning to look at Wanda.

Romanov Verses

Main: Anastasia has survived the Romanov execution, but doesn’t remember who she was. After traveling to St. Petersburg for a job, she becomes a street sweeper in the wake of Bolshevik control. All she has of her past life is a necklace pointing in the direction of Paris and some jewels. 

Alternate: The Romanovs weren’t executed, and are living quiet lives in the country-side now instead. Olga is a nurse, Tatiana is a writer on women’s rights, Maria wants to start a family and Anastasia is an avid photographer. 

Fantasy: Anya survived, but wasn’t found by the nuns. Instead she was found by a family of were-bears who took care of her. After a few months of living with them, it’s discovered that some of her wounds aren’t healing correctly. The only way to fix this is to turn her into one of them. Based heavily on Slavic folklore. 

MCU: Yurovsky had been working with Hydra when the Romanovs were sent into exile. It was not known to many, but the Romanovs were mutants and Hydra believed that the children’s powers could be awakened under stress. Follows main, except Anya doesn’t remember who she is and has been forced to become an assassin for them. She has the ability to see the dead and communicate with them, as well as sensing when someone is close to death. 

Harry Potter: Anya is the daughter of a very well known Pure-blood wizarding family from Russia. After revolution breaks out among the wizarding and muggle world of her home, her family is forced to flee to live with relatives in England. Anya is now attending Hogwarts and was placed into Slytherin. (Maria is a Gryffindor. Tatiana and Olga are too old for Hogwarts. Alexei is a Ravenclaw)

ASOIAF: The Romanovs are a noble house from the North, living in lavish palaces. However, with growing crop shortages and nothing to be done, the people of their realm began to revolt and one night stormed their palace. The family were forced to flee, hiding in the countryside until the revolt settled down. Afterwards, they reclaimed their home, Nicholas executing most of the revolutionaries and squashing any more rebellion while trying to maintain peace. 

Supernatural: Anya is the sole survivor of the Romanov murder in 1918, after a spell Grigori Rasputin did years prior to keep the family alive. The magic cast backfired after the monk’s death and only Anya survived, but the result was that she couldn’t remember who she was and now she was stuck living a very, very long lonely life as a result.

Most of these verses are flexible, as Anya is my main muse that’s who I’ve centered most of these around. However, if you want to interact with say Olga in an MCU verse or anyone else in any verse, I can add on to verses.
