It was a newbie — that much was certain, by the sloppy kill and the bloodstains left behind. She wouldn't say the ancient ones were any smarter, the lack of heartbeat matched the quiet inside their brains. Anika had followed that particular one for a few days, ever since she stepped foot in this place. A quick scan around the town folk and the blood suckers stood out, as if she had a rader going tick, tick, tick.

Sharp blades remaind tucked away for now, yet the sharpness of her gaze traced feet that marched further into the forest, seeking shelter under a tick layer of darkness, as one should — especially when followed.

"They're not getting far. I mapped out that section of the woods." words spoken soft and low to her partner, "There's a trap further down that road." maybe they'd do them a favor and fall down without a push.

"Soleil, as much as I'd love to let you do that, there's just no way having dessert before dinner is a good idea."

Jody's firm voice cut through as Soleil's eyes flitted up from the menu. How did he know she'd been looking at the dessert section, and only the dessert section? She glanced over at him, batting her lashes. "What if I told you I'd let you have a bite?"

He let out a laugh, shaking his head as he leaned back against his chair, unable to quit that habit he'd had since childhood of rocking it. One day he was gonna bust open the back of his head, his mother always warned him. But that day hadn't come yet. "Nice try, but not gonna happen." He reached over, flipping Soleil's menu to the set of entrees, then gave her a knowing look.

The quartet was celebrating out on the town tonight as Jody wrapped a ribbon around yet another season playing football for the Tulsa Tigers. While he didn't come away from it with a big ring and shiny trophy, he wasn't as beat-up about it as he normally would've. His best friends, his girls, were always good at celebrating him for his accomplishments rather than focusing on his shortcomings.

He nodded his head towards Valentina and Lilith. "How about you two? Don't tell me I have to wrangle you, too, and make sure you're ordering actual food." A smirk adorned his lips. "And by the way," though it went without saying,

"dinner's on me tonight, so get as much as you want."

Apparently the entire Belmont Clan is in on this joke... or is it really that big of a family secret? I had approached this subject with Soleiyu already, but I came up with a way to get multiple birds with one stone.

I would like some teasers about that Xander - Soleil father-daughter support fic please 💖

HEHEHE that'd be my pleasure~~!! i'll put a couple things under the cut c:

the fanart nattie drew for me is from their c-support!! the gist of it is that xander's employing a similar punishment to soleil as he did to laslow for excessive flirting :3 but as they're working in xander's office, they both end up falling asleep, hence the little scene in the art <3

the rest of the support is about soleil lying through her teeth about how she totally isn't flirting anymore so she doesn't get in trouble again, and xander completely seeing through her lie and doing a dad-thing of trying to make her come clean herself instead of directly calling her out !!

But what Soleil really wanted to say was, thank you I love you let's get married. Could you blame her? No one, not even her own brother Ford, had attended a ballet recital of hers yet. Maybe Ford did when she was doing baby ballet, but he hadn't gone to one ever since she moved to New Orleans and joined the local group. Long story short, seeing Lorenzo in the audience during her routine and now—backstage as all the other girls were given flowers and chocolates and congratulations—meant a lot to her.

She gave the bouquet a sniff before smiling warmly at Lorenzo. Maybe she even had on a set of heart eyes. For someone she'd just met, he was leaving such a mark on her life already. "I still gotta change outta my clothes—" she wore a flowy skirt and a pair of wings, her costume for the recital resembling some sort of angel— "but will you wait five minutes? Or do you gotta go?"

Some of those dragons in your recent drawing don’t have any other posts in their tags, could you introduce a few if it’s not spoilery?

Yeah absolutely!! I'll talk about all of them >:)

Alex and C, you know em, both of em dragon arena gladiators that eventually fight to escape the crushingly oppressive conditions they found themselves in.

These planes are manned by Soleil (left), who flies an SU-30, and Gala + Reina (right) on an AWACS plane based on the saab Globaleye. Gala is a Human and Reina is a little dragon, either of them can pilot or handle the IFF system interchangeably, though usually Gala is the one who pilots.

Octane, you know him too, reventant died-but-not-really guy, a jetwing of considerable speed. He's a rly nice chill guy even if dying-but-not-really has made him exponentially more unhinged. Infamous in illegal racing. Used to be a part of Lexios' squadron. And on the right, his brother Jarek, infamous for other things. He's a bounty hunter who specializes in other dragons. Has little care for who hires him as long as he's getting paid.

Arcturus is one of the fastest dragons out there, and they are the interceptor for Lexios' squad. A whimsical guy, they just like to Go Really Fast but got roped into service along with Octane bc of their abilities.

Voltaire is the support attacker of the squad. He's a gruff older dragon with a lot of flight experience and a nasty EMP attack.

Lexios, my beloved, absolute showstopper whenever she appears. She's a jetwing based on the XB-70 Valkyrie, with a little bit from the B-52 Stratofortress. She's MEAN AS FUCK, completely unhinged, and super powerful to boot. She's the squad leader, and her squad is the preferred attack hammer of the Dragon Choir. Very probably a war criminal (god forbid women do anything).

Kelan here is the dragon prince of the region, but he genuinely doesnt care about it. He would much rather be flying around the cast and having fun with his friends than to sit at the council and think about war. His father's death left the Council pretty headless and Kelan's attitude and demeanor makes him disliked among them but deeply beloved by his people.

Razor is a one-winged dragon from the cliffsides and part of the raider force in the highlands where the story takes place. He lost one of his wings in the past, though he was never able to fly with them anyways. Outside of canon, Razor is one of my oldest dragon ocs and I wanted to breathe new life into him putting him in this world :) Also, he has a really thick australian accent. This fact is very important.

Rivier is a desert dragon that has also found herself in the highlands through Circumstances(tm). She's also part of the raider force, and has a human rider called Jem who she goes on missions with. She and Razor aren't related by blood but they have grown up together and consider each other siblings.
