Castlevania II Belmont's Revenge Part 2: How many castles?

So the game actually has a structure similar to Megaman of all things: There are four castles that work as the four main levels and you can tackle them in any order you want. After you’re done with them you go to Dracula’s Castle which is 2 levels long

I suggest doing the Cloud Castle last, not because the stage itself is hard but because the boss is a bastard

The boss of the penultimate level can also be a pain in the ass if you don’t keep up with it just right...

So as for the castles the manual only says that Soleil (”Soleiyu” from my understanding is your usual case of faulty transliteration from japanese) summoned these castles following Dracula’s orders but no explanation is ever given as to what they are: are they variations of Dracula’s? Completely unrelated castles?

Each time you beat one of their bosses and ONLY the bosses of these four castles they release an orb that floats away. You later see these four orbs being absorbed by Dracula for his resurrection so I’m guessing that Dracula’s plan here was to goad Christopher into killing those creatures so that he could absorb their essence or something like that
