Chase nods his head. "Yeah, man. No worries." He's pretty much flexible when it comes to anything. If Carlos doesn't want to go over to the table full of girls, the two of them could ditch the bar right now and do anything else. "I know, whatever you want to do, man. You just say the word and we're doing it."

"Then I say we ditch this popsicle stand and go get some fuckin' pizza." He reaches out and pats Carlos on the shoulder before lifting his gaze up to him, pulling his hand away and pushing it into his pocket. "How long has it been?"

Carlos felt a mix of anxiety and gratitude as he turned to face Chase. The girls' giggles in the background only added to his nerves, but Chase's reassuring presence helped ground him.

"Yeah, I'm sure," Carlos replied, managing a small smile. "Thanks, man. It's just... you know how I get sometimes." He appreciated Chase's laid-back attitude, knowing it was something he could always count on.

He nodded at the mention of pizza, the simple idea bringing some comfort. "Pizza sounds perfect. And you're right, I shouldn't overthink it." He took a deep breath, feeling a bit more at ease. "I don't really, you know. I haven't really bothered to even look at girls, or guys, or whatever." @chascwilliams

"Ah haha." Darcy let out a nervous and insanely fake laugh when Carlos said her dad might see her as an outlaw. Was she technically one? She never got in trouble for accidentally burning down that house in Aurora Bay all those years ago, even if it had cost her one of her friend's life. Her father made sure all evidence leading to her was covered up so she would never get in trouble.

"Yeah, sure. I'm sure he would put up wanted signs and all that. Yep." She wasn't great at hiding how nervous she got about the whole getting in trouble with the law thing. "Yeah, uh.. he's not gonna know. I took it and I'll put it back where I got it before he even knows it was gone."

Carlos chuckled softly shaking his head in amusement. "Well, Darcy, I reckon a holster for a confetti popper might raise a few eyebrows, but I highly doubt you'll be in any real trouble. Besides, it's all in good fun, right? Just maybe don't let your dad catch wind of it. Wouldn't want him thinking you're turning into some sort of outlaw, now, would we?" Sidney nodded shuffling enough for Carlos to get comfortable if he wished to. She could tell he was tired, and she didn't blame him.

As he got settled, she gently rose her hand to rest on his hair, running her fingers through it attempting to soothe the other.

" You can stay as long as you want. Rest, okay? "

Izzy had always liked Carlos, he was a great friend of hers and she was glad they were close. The idea of spending the holidays with him seemed really fun. Izzy hadn't celebrated the holidays much growing up- her family wasn't big on it, but after Izzy's father passed away, they didn't really celebrate much of anything anymore unless it was a gold medal she'd gotten from a figure skating competition. At least now that Clara was in the picture her family was back to celebrating things and throwing parties. It was fun.

Carlos chuckled, leaning against the counter with a mug of coffee in hand. "Yeah, tell me about it. Pretty soon they’ll be putting up Christmas trees right after the Fourth of July," he teased back, shaking his head. "Feels like we’re racing through the year, skipping everything in between."

At her offer, his expression softened. "You know, that’s tempting," he said, his tone warm but thoughtful. "I’m not much of a holiday planner myself—haven’t been for a while. But spending it with you and Clara? That might actually make it feel like the holidays again."

He took a sip of his coffee, then added with a grin, "We could even break out the matching Christmas pajamas." @izzyxalamilla
