admin rambles complete and utter nonsense that adds nothing to the world (about shadow milk pre-corruption)

i found this old screenshot of me trying to get into the mind of my version of pre-corruption shadow milk and it reminds me that i want to write down how i see him before his update is released! so that i can compare it and inevitably cry when seeing all the differences!!! praying-upon-my-own-downfall type shit.

some people like to write pre-corruption shadow milk (who i'll refer to as 'blueberry milk' from now on) as someone who was always a bit of a cunt, but... as fun as i think it is! i can't commit to that! he was made to be kind. he was made to be a guiding pillar.

for me, blueberry milk was... someone who dedicated his entire life to truth, to wisdom, and respecting knowledge... someone who wants to USE that faith to reality and integrity to help others through their own struggles.

...someone who eventually sees how people don't really want to hear the... truth. they want sugarcoated lies. they want someone to tell them everything is going to be okay. i mean, really, how can you expect him to keep going? knowing that your desperate followers don't even respect what you value the most?

he loses the ability to empathize with people who aren't ready to face the truth. he can't see any point to hiding behind falsities.

he wanted to educate others. to show them the truth. not be a sage, a lying prophet.

they put him on a pedestal. they take his words as law.

they've made a scholar into a god.

that's why 'fools' is repeated so much in that screenshot -- it's emphasizing the moment he truly detaches himself from everyone else. he realizes the differences of mindsets between him and his 'followers', of how needy they are for pitiful comfort. it's the first time he's ever referred to other people as fools - but it just... makes so much sense, the moment he utters it. that's what the repetition is: the accuracy of the term echoing, doubling itself, taking hold of his mind as nothing but the utter truth.

he does initially feel disgusted with his own cruel words and inability to feel empathy but... but the longer he thinks on it, the more it makes sense. the less he's able to feel bad. because he just can't see the rationale behind such... frivolous, emotional, nonproductive, pointless behaviour.

and i understand that.

Day 5: Happy 5 Year Anniversary!

Wow. 5 years. I honestly can't believe that. Oh my GOSH that's long o.o. I went :O when I saw that when seeing advertising for the week.

I love this show so much (ignore me posting and editing to get it here before midnight for me lol). It's absolutely insane how long it's been. I started watching late in November, I believe, maaaaybe early December. We'd talked about getting Disney+, and I knew my family would find it silly but I was intrigued by a show called High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. A crazy title and a weird premise. I said I was just curious, fascinated by it, wondering what it would be like. So, one evening, my sister and I watched it.

We watched the first four episodes and laughed and made fun of it the whole time. But, miraculously, I found myself invested.

And the next episode.

In Season 1 Episode 5, they brought Seb and Carlos to us as a couple. I was shocked and happy, and honestly a little confused. I didn't know I was queer yet. I knew what queer was, had found out from my sibling surrounding some family stuff, but I'd never seen canon queer characters before. I guess I knew I was an ally, even if I didn't totally get why, but it was just so cool to see them. I honestly felt kind of weird because what did two gay high school boys mean to me, I was a straight girl!

Ha.

It wouldn't be for a couple more years that I would realize I was queer. I too fell victim to the "yeah, but I'm just an ally" trap lol. But I seriously fell in love with them. I remember my sibling and I loving how cute Carlos's little dance was, how excited he was. How devastated and in denial we were when Seb didn't show up. And how much we loved it when Carlos danced, and when Seb did show up :').

That solidified the show for me. That made me stay. They made me stay. They've meant the world to me ever since.

And since then, I have seen 33 amazing, wonderful episodes (just like the 5 before them lol). I've been angry, I've been sad, I've been in awe, I've been happy. I've seen myself represented not just in queer characters, but in theatre kids. In kids who are lonely and find family there. In kids who lived in a shadow, who were shy, who were thrust in and trusted by their teacher and director.

This show is silly. It does silly things, it has silly performances, it has silly jokes, silly unlikely things happen, and it's a silly premise. But I absolutely love it. I realized one day, after having seen someone mention "the One show that changed them forever", that mine was High School Musical The Musical The Series. Sounds silly, and I had to think about some of my more recent shows to figure it out. But it is. I remember scrolling through the tag, searching Seblos, before I even made a Tumblr account. Seeing things first after the finale of Season 1, deleted scenes pictures of Carlos giving Seb flowers. So many important moments for me were taken alongside step with HSMTMTS. Even though I barely post about it anymore (because so many interests catch my attention and I don't usually have much to say about it off the top of my head), it's still the 4th top "Posts a lot about" when you go to search on my blog. I think that says something. And I'm proud of it.

I haven't had a lot of interaction with the fandom during my time here, especially while the show was still running (and because I mainly stay in the Seblos tag, especially with remembering scrolling through all the Driver's License stuff before and when it first came out lol), but everyone means so much to me. Especially everyone still posting, still creating now. The fanfics, the art, the edits, and gifsets, everything is so important to me, and everything else. Thank you all <3. And thank you, when I did come, for being such an accepting place (at least the places I went to). Thank you guys for sticking around through this show, and even for just being here for a little while. Thanks for sticking with me, those that have :). And the friends I've made from this fandom and this show - you mean the world to me <3. Thank you all so much for everything you've done, everything that's made this show even more enjoyable :'). I love you all so much ❤️.

I started watching the Starlight boys and I'll admit it's really difficult to watch sometimes. And I don't mean like the dancing and singing, that's just funny to see but like seeing these boys cry and go through it, especially considering I just got through the 2nd episode kinda doesn't feel nice

Also with Syo, I really hope a debuts. Maybe this is personal because he's half black and I'm black so it brought me joy to see him out there. The situation from the first episode only made me root for him more. And there's totally others I'm rooting for too! I hope this show doesn't get out of hand though. Want everyone to be happy and healthy but still work hard<3

That seems to grab Ash's attention as he immediately looks at Spoke with an all too big grin while Red groans a little, his eyes shifting away from the both of them. "I did of course, and it was amazing," Ash boasts. "Uh huh, so amazing I got a frickin' gun pointed to my head," "I had to make sure you said yes somehow," Damn. Well that's a lot. Spoke looks between the two of them before looking back at Red. "How did he propose if he was holding a gun to your head?" "Squiddo had the gun," Red explained. And that... that explains a lot.

Hello! Just want to say that I absolutely adore your designs for Jon, Edward, and Jervis! They're so detailed and extra. I love them sm. Up in the top two favorite designs. My favorite is definitely Jervis. Which is funny, because in just about every version he's my least favorite of the three. His design is just so fun and goofy and him. It's amazing. They all are.

Design Notes — Riddler | Scarecrow | Hatter

I drafted up some rogue designs last year, actually. They’ve mostly evolved from those. Content warning for horrific old art.

The McGriddler — Ah, a grown man with the strength of a baby! I’ve actually had this… horrendous peacock concept in my brain since 2022, back when my Riddler design was a dirty blonde/brunette. I hated him. He had the costume, but not the flair. Not to mention the generic facial structure.

Luckily, New Riddler is now an ostentatiously dressed vain attention whore! Highly fashionable, extensive wardrobe (def designing more outfits for him) and a possible mid-life crisis arc where he just wears a bathrobe and wifebeater for a month straight.

And listen, I’m not much of a writer, but there are notes on his personality.

Not great ones, though.

And rather than his ambiguous forensics/science job, he now works in I.T. Or rather, worked in I.T. (fired for patronising tech support customers)

For Jon — He’s always had black eyes with orange ringed pupils (initially blue) from the fear toxins. Drafted him up in high school because I was coping.

I’ve always intended to give him multiple costume designs. With narrative purposes. He redesigns himself. Ofc he couldn’t be satisfied with one thing, no, he has winter, summer, Witch Doctor, stealth etc. costumes on the way.

The initial design was trying to do too much — Patches, stitches, belt straps, arm warmers, utility belts, boots. Clutter. (Does NOT help that I can hardly decipher my old sketches.)

So, we just remove the overtly slutty components from the main design—

—And put them in a seperate campier Scarecrow design that I use as a Halloween-sona.

Silly Crazy Zonka Wonka — I think I was looking at pics of the Depp Hatter for the old design, which. May explain some things.

Acute observation! They look nothing alike. So I’ve kept absolutely nothing from the initial design except for the choppy wavy hairstyle.

Completely different colour scheme. Subbed out the TF2 Ghastly Gibus for the Towering Pillar of Hats. (Because ofc The Hatter would have something from the funny Hat FPS, no?) Shorter. Feebler. Every sickness on the planet. Congratulations! Mercury poisoning.

The initial concept for the redesign was to have a sort of reversible coat with his Arkham outfit on one side, and Rogue outfit on the other. You can see I just opted for him to wear a combination of both.

whatever the hell it is, he’s been sitting at the dinner table all focused and shit so you decided to leave him alone. you were sitting on the floor with mayday in your lap, dreads tied back, reading a book that hobie bought for her a couple weeks ago in y’all dimension.

mayday had been fed, bathed, and potty trained and you were loving every second of it. you’ve always loved children and nurturing them.

when you were well into the book you looked down and noticed she’d fallen asleep. you smile and brush her hair out of her face. carefully rising to your feet and descending into the house to lay her down in her bed.

you reappear into the living room again, eyes traveling to hobie who you found out was already staring at you. his eyes were filled with admiration and it made you shy.

“y’re very good with the babies, y’know?” you laugh and make your way to them as they sit at the table, you glance at what he was working on and it looked like one of the watches he and peter wore.. so you minded your damn business. “well, I love kids. what can i say?” you sit on his lap and give him a kiss.

“say you’ll raise someone with me one day” he whispers to you kissing your cheek and tickling you at your sides. you two have this exact conversation at least twice a week. he even stops in the baby’s aisle at the stores you two shoplift from just to look at stuff and contemplate baby names. “you know I want to, bee. we’ll get there one day.”

his head is on your shoulder so you feel him nod in agreement, but you can also feel his sadness. one wouldn’t hurt, right?

Happy HSMTMTS Appreciation Week :DD!!

Day 1 - Favorite Character

I love them all that I really would be hard pressed to rank them. But, admittedly, Carlos and Seb are at the top lol. Them I couldn't choose between.

However, I currently have walking pneumonia, and while it may keep me walking, it does not keep me able to make posts easily xD. So, I'm going to share a bit of a WIP I started over a year ago and never finished. I wanted to at least start a Seblos fic before season 4 started, as I'd always meant to but never gotten around to it. Both of their characters are immensely important to me, together and separate. I know this seems more fitting for ship day but also consider: I don't care :p. Also, quickly, I'll share a few things a love or relate to about some of the characters.

Kourtney: Love seeing representation of anxiety, especially surrounding college stuff - that's so relatable 😭. And I love that it while it was ongoing, she did eventually find what she wanted (and stuff that helped her anxiety) - even if it took a few tries.

Ashlyn: Absolutely loved seeing her queer journey. As a bi person myself, it was amazing :'). And seeing Carlos welcome her into the community was just <3. Also, I love seeing her confidence grow throughout the show!

EJ: Love that he wasn't the villain forever! I adore EJ, and I'm glad they showed that redemption is totally possible

Gina: So happy to see different lights on her ambition - sometimes bad, sometimes good, but never forget those who are important to you <3. Love that.

Big Red: Another bi realization!! Not happy with how it happened (and I will stay in denial about how it was genuinely accidental or a cheek kiss or something until the day I die), but glad it did, and that he and Ashlyn stayed together for a while after it happened - bi doesn't mean you immediately leave your partner to be gay. Also, Big Red is a really great friend and I love that :').

Ricky: Love seeing the outsider to theatre perspective! Same goes for Big Red. It's such a crazy thing to be thrust into lol. But also, seeing how entrenched and happy he becomes in it and its traditions by the end of the show is :').

Nini: I love that she knows her own worth, and also has to take a minute to find what's best for her. Arts school? Nah, not at the moment. East High? For a bit, and then things changed. Music on her own? Yeah, maybe :'). I do wish she could've been there at the end but in my mind she was <3.

Seb: I honestly love that he gets to be the innocent one and that's okay. As a long-time innocent one (even if I do actually know things just don't talk about/do them lol), it's nice to see him being accepted :'). And of course, the queer representation <3. I'll talk more about that during favorite ship, but especially seeing Seb play with gender presentation is so amazing ❤️.

Carlos: I'm so glad they explicitly said he was bullied, because while I agree that HSMTMTS is overall a positive show and don't want it to be bogged down all the time by negative stuff like that, it's so important to acknowledge. And that going from that, he found his family in theatre :'). Even though he worried that they wouldn't accept him, even though he might've participated before (a common headcanon) and just didn't have it as much, he found it. And again with the ambition - it's not a bad thing to be ambitious :). And, like I've said, the queer representation <33.

Maddox: Not an OG but I don't care :). Once again, love the queer representation, but I also just totally relate to the "too much, too loud" worry. You have great moments with people and then it's "yeah! Cool. . See you next time :')". I'm so glad she found her family <3.

Jet: Also not an OG but again, I don't care :). Another point for redemption, but also that stuff is complicated. He hurt Maddox, even if he didn't intend to, and that's just how it is sometimes. You have to try and do better, and he does :'). Although she also does have to readjust some things, which I love <3. Also just his mistrust of the theatre family - so real, but I'm glad they stick together :').

Emmy: Again not an OG, but I don't care :). I love her silliness and creepiness lol. But also, I so relate to that "younger siblings" energy. And the "I'm trying to hold it together for everyone", especially "I'm trying to hold it together but I'm the young one and I shouldn't have to do this". I've been putting my soul into theatre for years, through some rough times, and I just totally feel her <3.

Mr. Mazzara: Another point for redemption! Also I'm glad he acknowledges later on that he shouldn't have let his personal stuff influence stuff he did or said (in a bad way). It happens to the best of us and it sucks but I love that he acknowledges it :').

Miss Jenn: Feeling lost. My gosh, feeling lost. So relatable. It's terrifying because you have a dream and you want so badly to achieve it, but you also know that you can "fail" and get sent on a totally different path. And that's terrifying. But I'm glad that, after everything, she's happy :'). I so love to see that she doesn't need her big dreams, realizes that while she didn't fail, she's happy just where she is :'). That's okay <3.

Okay those got longer than I thought I'd be up for but yay!! Lastly, I just love that it's about theatre. That they're all involved, some way, with theatre. I know I didn't include side characters but trust me I love them all <3. And I love seeing the different ways everyone is involved in theatre, their different roles and niches and experience levels. It's so great to see, and to see my process, our process, that I'm so familiar with reflected on screen is honestly really important to me :').

For context, the prompt I was given by my sibling for this fic was something about Seb and a tractor (maybe they specified a broken arm or tractor crash, I really don't remember lol. It was like, exactly a year ago sldkgs). I'm honestly still really proud of these chat sections lol.

In case you're wondering about the timeline, it's vague and in a hypothetical season 4, I believe lol. So, if I were wanting to keep it canon compliant, it would probably be the spring show after HSM 3 xD.
