gincott + biting :) <3
ok so. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. well i've been thinking about sirens x mermaids so.
(16+)
Louisa has a tendency to squirm, when Gin's teeth come near. It's really not her fault- they're just so sharp.
But maybe that is why Gin likes leaning against her, the siren perhaps enjoying feeling her wriggle under them. Gin's scales rub against Louisa's, and they're rougher then hers, covered with more scars then she could count.
Louisa squeaks when Gin makes a low purrrr, pinning her to the side of the cove, nuzzling against her gills. She makes a soft gasp at that, tail swishing fast, until Gin takes one clawed hand and sets it just where scales fade to skin.
"Um-" Her face is impossibly red as she meets their eyes, and their intense, almost ravenous gaze makes her words melt in her mouth, and she's back to just stuttering, because really, what can she say?
They know what she wants, and she trusts them to carry it out, anyway.
(Even so, that does not hold her back from yelping when fangs land in her shoulder and blood paints the water like smoke. It's okay; Gin doesn't like talking, but Louisa makes enough music for both of them anyway.)

summer loving

After a long car ride, your family’s car finally pulls up to the front of the expansive main lodge for the lake resort. Once you get settled into the private house, you excuse yourself from your parents to take a look around and stretch.
While getting ready for dinner, you call your friend from home, Gia. “Babe! Any cute boys?” Gia asks as soon as she answers the phone.
“I haven’t even seen anyone up close yet. But, I doubt it.” You say, curling your lashes.
“Seriously? Ugh. You need to find someone while you’re there. I mean- are you seriously going to spend the whole summer with just your parents at this stupid camp?” She responds.
“I dunno, G. It’s the first day- and there’s no point. I don’t want anything long distance and what about Peter?” You say, cleaning up your makeup products and shoving them back into your bag.
“Forget Peter! He’s a loser, you know that. Plus, what do you really think he’s doing in D.C? You think he’s spending the whole summer at a UN Summer Camp and not flirting with girls?” She says, sighing and moving around on her bed.
“He’s passionate about it. Maybe he’s really just involved, you know…” You sigh, slipping on your shoes. “Give me a break, Y/N/N. You deserve better than Peter. Maayyybbeee he’s there right now.. Hm? Good luck. Have fun at dinner.”
“Bye, G, love you.”
“Byeeeee!”
---
“The Cameron’s will be joining us for dinner tonight.” Your dad says, while looking at the mirror in the front hallway in the private house, fixing his tie. “Who?” You say, standing next to him, fixing your lipgloss. “Y/N, The Camerons. We talked about Ward in the car here. You went to summer camp with his son, Rafe.” He says, turning to look at you.
“Rafe?” You say, furrowing your eyebrows, “What kinda name is Rafe?”
“Y/N.” He sighs, “If it helps, his name is Rafferty, but he goes by Rafe, he always has.”
You giggle.
“Rafferty? Does Mr. Cameron hate his son or something?”
“Y/N.” He sighs, moving to the door when your mom comes out, dressed for dinner.
---
Once you and your parents walk to the main lodge for dinner, you get stuck listening to an old man talk to your parents for fifteen minutes. Suddenly, you’re praying that Rafferty and his family shows up, insteading of wishing they’d call and say someone was sick and can’t make it.
Conveniently, once you wish that, your father’s face lights up, looking at the entrance. “If you’ll excuse us, Mr. Graham, our dinner guests are here.” He says, shaking the old mans hand, and walking towards Mr. Cameron, while your mom stands up to greet them, pushing you to stand up, subtly. Mr. Cameron walks confidently with his wife slightly behind him, and a trio of kids who look less than excited to be at a hidden business dinner.
“Ward!” Your father exclaims, shaking Mr. Camerons hand. “You know my wife, and this is my daughter, Y/N.” You give the whole group a tight smile, shaking Mr. and Mrs. Camerons hand, before everyone moves to sit down. While your mom pushes you out of your chair so that Mrs. Cameron, whose name you learned was Rose, could sit next to her.
You end up sitting in between Rafe and a girl a little younger than you. Rafe gets sat next to your father, and across from his father, and he seems unbelievably displeased about it.
The girl on your right turns to you. “I’m Sarah, it’s nice to meet you.” She smiles.
“Y/N. Nice to meet you.” You smile back, happy that you didn’t have to make the first introduction.
“That’s Rafe, and this is Wheezie.” She says, pointing to the younger girl on her right.
“How did you-”
“Get the name Sarah?” She laughs softly, and you nod. “Rafe’s name is Rafferty, still stupid if you ask me. But, Wheeze’s real name is Louisa.”
You smile at her joke, and nod.
---
During the dinner, you promptly ignore the men at the table, mainly talking to Sarah, but also answering questions about school and colleges from Rose, and listening to Wheezie talk about the latest book she’s reading.
However, it was physically impossible to ignore the, shamelessly, beautiful boy on your left, who smells good, and is much taller than you thought. Not forgetting how nice his arms look in his suit and, Peter had completely left all of your thoughts when you accidentally brushed Rafe’s leg when you bent down to fix your shoe.
---
The next day, your mom had a scheduled salon appointment with Rose Cameron and your father wanted to mingle with potential businessmen at the men’s lounge.
This meant you were left completely to your own devices, deciding to go to a lakeside morning yoga session that Sarah had also drug Wheezie to, so you joined them.
---
Rafe had waken up late, his father had told him about the men’s lounge and how it would be good for connections, hinting that Rafe should join him, but in his opinion, he was tired of connections and needed a break.
He pulled a shirt on, and stumbled out of the private house, realizing that it was completely empty, he walks to the kitchen to see Sarah had written on a lime green post it note and stuck it to the countertop, “Taking Wheeze to yoga, Rose at salon, Dad gone to lounge. Meet for lunch at 12.”
He looks at the time displayed on the stove, 11:45.
---
“Will you come to lunch with us? I promise that Rafe will be better company this time around.” Sarah pleads, in her hot pink matching lulu lemon set. Wheezie nods, pushing up her glasses, “He always gets so tense around dad. I think it’s dumb, but he always does.” Sarah gives you a look, almost begging you not to push that topic further. You nod, “Okay, sure. I’ll come, but only if you’re sure he won’t mind.”
Once you, Sarah, and Wheezie show up to the resturatnet in the lodge, you see Rafe already sitting at a table near the large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake.
He watches the three of you walk over, as Wheezie finds a seat next to him, while you stand awkwardly, waiting for Sarah to sit across from Rafe. Naturally, however, she doesn’t and she gives Wheezie a look as she sits across from her, forcing you to sit across from Rafe, smiling awkwardly as you make eye contact with him.
Sarah and Wheezie excuse themselves to use the restroom. Once they’re out of earshot, the boy sighs, looks out to the lake, and straightens his back, “I’m uh- I’m Rafe, by the way, I don’t think I ever actually introduced myself.” He says, turning his head to look back at you.
You smile softly, “Y/N.”
He nods, “Nice to meet you.” You take a sip of water, “you too.”
i hope you girlies liked this chapter, it's a little slow rn sorrryyyy, let me know if you're liking it and if there's anything you'd like to see, i'm totally down to incorporate things into the story MWAH

You have found a wild Wakko!!
(✯ᴗ✯)
After AGES, I'm finally posting a lil something ^^
Ya know the drill!! It's....
INFODUMP TIME!!!!!!!!!
More like "random trivia that I know for no reason" time but..
AHEM.
As you all (probably) know, Wakko Warner is one of the main characters of the animated series called animaniacs, along with his sister Dot Warner(Full name Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Franchesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca III) and his big brother, Yakko warner. But that, my friends, is BORING information that everyone is already tired of hearing and that would probably be the opening of an article about our lil boi, so how about we skip the whole introduction part of this and skip to just silly random goofy facts?
(okay, this is too much suspense to something that you can probably find anywhere on the internet)
1- He can eat LITERALLY anything, BUT It is confirmed that he does not like mayonnaise.
2- In the shows, his siblings always get more attention than him and are always laughing at him, which makes him jealous of them and kinda insecure.
3- According to him, he does not wear pants because his contract allows him to.
4- His and his siblings' family is quite confusing. On Wakko's Wish, they did have parents, who used to be the king and queen of Warner Stock but were killed by the king Salazar. In every other situation besides the movie, tho, they don't have parents, or at least don't know about it or never talked directly about them. On "King Yakko" they DO have a family tree, although that was probably just for the episode to make some sense. They are actors afterall, and the line between canon and not canon in animaniacs is almost non-existent.
5- He is 11! Although he does say he is 7 in the song "Hello Nurse", the directors revealed that he just said that cuz they needed a word to rhyme with "Heaven".
6- He's afraid of clowns.
7- He is hypoglicemic, which might explain his hunger.
8- He is 5% salamander, and can deatach his limbs at any time.
9- In one of the comics, to get into the Noah's ark, he said that his gender was "other", which gave birth to one of the most famous headcanons in the animaniacs community, the "Non binary Wakko Warner" headcanon, which is personally one of my favorites.
10- He is the same height as Buster Bunny.
11- Fans usually associate him with a dog.
And again, as always,
Bye b------
Wait. I think I have a more fitting ending for this post.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!!!!

Not to be an insufferable Shakespeare girl on main but, a lot of Slow Horses reminds me of him, the way it utilizes how tragic yet utterly stupid and comedic violence can be. (BTW, This is very much inspired by @saulbetter 's very cool observation of how the show uses Webb as a living example of escalated violence, the crash test dummy that suffers increasingly real consequences, lol)
One of my favorite plays is Titus Andronicus, especially because of an interpretation by Peter Sacks called “non-mourning”. I’m really condensing it here, but in essence it’s about how Titus is a story so filled with blood, revenge, tragedy, and (at times ridiculous) violence that it makes the characters completely breathless. There is no time to mourn, only to react. The mourning itself is expressed by increasingly horrific murders etc.
Season 3 of Slow Horses is not only the most violent, but also the most fast paced so far. It all takes place over the course of, like, one day. That is crazy. The deaths we see on screen are also very blunt. They are quick, brutal, final, and both avoidable yet inevitable. That makes the conversation River and Louisa are afforded for ca. five minutes before disaster stand out so much. And after everything in the end, Louisa is just like “Okay, bye”, which is the opposite of a healthy reaction. While River goes to see the person he is already mourning (not lost, losing) who goes on to give him a genuine reason to mourn– not because grandpa is slowly drifting away, but because he is also destroying the image River has of him and MI5 in the process. This is like when everyone mourns Lavinia, even though she is still alive, only that she happens to be a living reminder of loss (!).
Finally, as an aside, I also have to think of how Donovan and Webb are positioned in this story arc. Slow Horses and Titus Andronicus both have a sort of cyclical (or perhaps pyramidical?) nature of violence going. However, back to the beginning of the post now, Webb as a character seems to inspire violence, though never directly carrying out any. The tragic comic aspect is that it circles back around to him no matter what he does or doesn’t do. On the other hand, Donovan wants revenge/retaliation for what happened. His journey starts with violence carried out against his lover, he continues to carry it out as a reaction, then it circles back to him, eventually destroying him (and others), too. Hauntingly, the last part of the chain is presented by the sister who is no longer a sister when Lamb leaves her at that hospital, is she?
#long post#lol#girl who has read an ungodly amount of shakespeare and shakespeare scholars: huh ya know this reminds me of something...#i also think there is a different aspect at play here which is-- who enjoys violence and why and to what extent?#i think that would be a really interesting part 2 to this#because i didn't even mention shirley and marcus#slow horses#river cartwright#louisa guy#james spider webb

haii i’m back and with a much more opportune timed question this time-
i’m thinking of auditioning for louisa in the sound of music in about a month and am in need of a song ! if it’s any help i’m a mezzo(?) with little to no vocal training so the less belting the better 👍
Yay! Luckily Liesl is a mezzo who doesn't really need to belt. "How Lovely to Be A Woman" from Bye Bye Birdie may work (might be a touch high for a mezzo, but give it a go and see how it feels). "The Earth and Other Minor Things" from Gigi could be a nice choice. Or you could look at "I Could Be Happy With You" from The Boyfriend (I'm pretty sure there are solo arrangements out there). Also, if you need to transpose anything down a half-step (selecting the key that says -1 next to it on musicnotes), I don't think it would be a problem. "A Wonderful Guy" from South Pacific may also be a nice choice.
Break a leg!

Takes place in an AU that now, thanks to the lovely @leefl00f, has a name; Earthbound AU! Credit to @leefl00f for the ideas for both this scenario and the name of the AU!! Thank you so much!!
J picked up another chair and walked over to Tessa’s bed. The chair nearly covered her view, but she was able to see around it thanks to the dim lights of the few night lights decorated around her destination. One of the night lights was a rainbow, that did indeed give off multicolored light, and another was a soft yellow duckling. The third was shaped as a sun and gave off the most light. She stopped in front of the foot of the bed and glanced over at Tessa, who was pulling a folded blanket out from one of her drawers, one that was dark blue with yellow stars. She squinted her eyes slightly and hummed.”A little bit closer, please.” She said. J took a single step closer to the bed. Tessa smiled and nodded.”That’s perfect!” She said.
J smiled and set the chair down just as V came over with a second chair, which she placed to the opposite side of J’s chair while still at the foot of the bed.”Should we use books to hold the blanket down?” V suggested. Tessa finally got the blanket out and began unfolding it, but slowly incase she needed the blanket partly folded for when they use it as a roof for their fort.”That’s a great idea!” Tessa agreed. Once she decided to leave the blanket folded only once, Cyn grabbed one end of the blanket and Tessa moved her hands to hold the other. J and V moved out of the way as they both walked to the bed and chairs, setting one end of the blanket on the bed and the other end on the seat of the chairs. The corners and sides of the blanket slipped and fell off one of the chairs and nearly brought the rest down with it, but Cyn and Tessa still had their grips on it. V began walking towards the door to leave Tessa’s bedroom.”I’ll go to the library and see what I can find.” She said.
Cyn turned her head to V as she moved closer to the door.”Wait, I have an idea.” She said. V stopped and turned around. Knowing that she now had her attention, Cyn voiced her request.“Can you ask N if he wants to join?” She asked. J turned her head to Cyn with a look of slight surprise.
N wasn’t exactly rude or anything, but he was a very odd worker drone. The most obvious examples of this were his height, tail, and how his legs and arms were built compared to literally everyone else. Ever since his arrival, when James brought him into the manor after going out for a walk, N has also acted strangely, with an aura that seemed to follow him everywhere he went that said “Don’t get too close”. Cyn noticed J’s expression and immediately continued speaking to defend him.”He’s not so bad. He’s actually really nice!” She said. She looked back at V. Some who don’t know Cyn might not understand it since her expressions often look the same to newcomers, but V could tell it was a hopeful one.
Truth be told, they were all trying to get along with N, and Cyn had been spending a lot of her free time trying to bond with him. Even though it was a bit difficult since he was mainly nocturnal. Anyways, now that she thought about it, V agreed that this could be an opportunity for everyone to get to know him.“Sure, I’ll ask him.” She said. Cyn’s smile grew wider and her fangs were now visible.”Thank you.” She said. V smiled back and waved them bye as she left the room.
V walked down the dimly lit hallways and was fairly surprised, but also not surprised at the severe lack of other drones that would usually be moving through nearly every hall. It was rare for the manor to be so quiet and empty feeling, but that wasn’t saying it was terrible. Louisa and James had gone out to catch their flight for a business meeting that would last about a week, so many of the worker drones were taking the time off and were probably in bed by now. Of course, some of them still made sure to keep the place clean and tidy. After all, who likes a dirty space?
As she passed a window, she paused and took a moment to appreciate the last bit of light from the sun before it vanished from beneath the horizon. After that, V continued down the hall and took a left to enter the library. She turned on the light switch and the entire library immediately lit up. The red carpet split into three different directions — forward, left, and right. V knew where to find the bigger books and continued straight, passing under signs such as “ACTION”, “MYSTERY”, “THRILLER”, “HORROR”, and more. Once she reached the “HISTORY” sign, she took a right towards the many shelves. It was usually the history and literary books that were the biggest, so she’d definitely find some books heavy enough to hold the blanket in place nearby. If those two didn’t work, she’d move onto the biology section since she’s spotted a few very big books containing tons of information about prehistoric life there. Very quickly, however, V found the first of the four heavy books she’d need. The only problem was it might be a bit too high for her to reach and she didn’t see the ladder anywhere.
V reached her arms up, but it didn’t work. She stretched even higher and used one arm to grab the shelf the book was on, but the other could barely touch the book. Even when she stood onto her “toes” and slightly groaned from how much she was trying, she still couldn’t do anything more than grace her fingers across it in poor attempts to get a grip and pull it closer. Finally, she let herself stand normally again and let out a frustrated sigh as she began to turn around.”Where is the ladd—!!” V cut herself off with a startled yelp when she saw N standing next to her. N took a short step back away from her and looked surprised himself before quickly calming back down. V also calmed down and smiled, relieved that it was only him and not some intruder.”It’s just you, N. You came out of nowhere!” She said. N didn’t give her a verbal response and his expression didn’t really change. Instead, he simply took a step closer and reached up to the book she had been trying to grab. He didn’t have too much trouble as he pulled it off the shelf with one hand and offered it to her. She had to hold it with two hands since it was a little heavy.”Oh, thank you!” V said. N simply nodded and turned around to begin walking away.
V instantly remembered Cyn’s request and continued talking to stop him.”Oh, since you’re here, I have a question.” She said. N stopped and turned around.”We’re building a pillow fort and wanted to know if you wanted to join. I’m sure it’ll be fun!” She said. The odd drone looked at her confused, as if he didn’t understand what she just said. After a few seconds, she elaborated.“A pillow fort. You know, when you build something out of pillows and sometimes blankets?” She said.
N still looked confused, but nodded in agreement.”Great! We need three more books to hold the blankets down, so let’s go find some.” V said. As she started walking down the aisle to find three more, N turned back around and sprinted off. V was confused for a second, but assumed that he was just doing what she requested and was going to get another book. She smiled to herself as she continued slowly walking down the aisle of shelves, scanning them carefully for a book about as big as the one she held. She was happy to soon find another one at a shelf she could reach and picked it up, placing it on top of the one already in her arms. When she turned back, N was there again and holding two books that looked around the same size.”That was fast.” V commented. She walked past him and smiled.”Come on, let’s head to Tessa’s room.” She said.
N followed her out of the library and into the hallway. As they walked hall, V noticed how uneasy he appeared. His digital yellow eyes were slightly wide and remained fixated on what was ahead, as if he was expecting something to jump out. This was a small issue with many new drones who come into the manor; they’re sometimes scared and anxious. V certainly was. She remembered what it was like for her, and that made her determined to help N feel comfortable as well. She didn’t like the way he backed away and glared at her when they first met.
“Read any good books recently?” She asked to try to ease the tension. N briefly glanced at her, then at the floor, and then shook his head and looked forward. They took a turn towards Tessa’s bedroom.”Maybe I could recommend one for you if you want.” She offered. N waited a bit before nodding again.”Alright. After this, how about we go back to the library and see what you might like?” V asked. N once again nodded. For a split second, V thought she saw a small smile begin to creep its way onto his face, but it vanished before it had fully formed. Knowing this was a small step in a good direction, she smiled at him.”It’s a plan then.” She said.
V entered the room first and immediately noticed the change that had occurred while she was gone. There were two more chairs, the seats facing the opposite of the first two chairs and placed paralleled with the first ones. A second large blanket was draped over the backs of the chairs and remained in place, and was big enough to hang a few inches next to the seats of the second pair of chairs, and probably the first chairs as well. The height of the new addition looked twice of that of what V had seen before leaving. Before N entered the room, he paused just before the doorway, glancing between all four of them. V stopped walking when she noticed him freeze and turned to him.”What’s wrong?” She asked. N was silent for a bit before shaking his head and walking into the room with her, which was even more confusing. Still, V walked in and smiled as J, Cyn, and Tessa finally noticed them. Cyn’s smile seemed to grow bigger when she saw them come into the room.”How nice of you to join us, N!” Tessa said. N gave them a small wave in return. He glanced at the fort and his expression shifted to one of confusion. V walked over to the bed on the left side and placed one of the books on something.”You three added more to the fort while I was gone?” She asked.
“Yeah! That way, we have a bigger section for games and the smaller one can be for anyone who wants to just relax and enjoy a bit of quiet time!” Tessa explained, pointing at the different sections as she spoke. J picked up a pillow from Tessa’s bed and walked over to the entrance, where Cyn was sitting down.”As quiet as they can get, at least.” She bent down and handed it to Cyn, who turned around and crawled into the blanket fort with it. N walked silently past J and moved to the other side of the bed, watching and copying V’s actions with the books he had been carrying. Now the books held all four corners of the blanket on the bed and the seat of the first two chairs.”Thank you.” V said. N nodded and moved out of the way as J grabbed the last remaining pillow from the bed and handed it to Tessa, who took it and crawled inside as Cyn came out.”We’re almost done!” She cheered.”We just need a few more pillows.” She said.
“J and I will take care of that.” Cyn said. J nodded in agreement and they both left the room to go to one of the closest holding spare pillows and blankets down the hall. N looked at the fort again and glanced back at V.”Come on, let’s go see the inside!” She said before moving to the front of the fort and lifting the blanket slightly to get inside. N slowly walked to the front and looked down hesitantly. After a few seconds of inner debating, he crawled inside.
He sat next to the chair to his left, out of the way of the others and the entrance. The inside of the fort was... new to him. Inside, there was an odd glowing thing he believed was a “duck night light” illuminating the space and multiple pillows lining the edges of the walls, all similar, but still slightly different colors and patterns. The blanket hanging from that chair to the other to make a wall barely touched his back, so no one freaked out and thought he would accidentally cause it to fall down. Everything looked so... comfy? It felt almost unreal to him. Tessa clapped her hands and slightly startled N from his thoughts.”Once J and Cyn get back, we’re all going to play a game!” She said. V scooted next to N as Tessa crawled to the other section of the fort, which was surprisingly split into two by a third blanket, folded and hooked around the spaces between the chairs’ backs.”Have you really never seen a pillow fort?” V asked, trying to keep the worry from her tone. N shook his head and glanced at the plushies on the floor.”We never even had pillows. Or blankets.” He whispered. That wasn’t what V was expecting. Sure, some humans were bad enough to not allow their workers to have proper living space sometimes, but to go their whole life not having one or the other? N pointed at a nearby golden retriever plushie.”Or whatever those things are.” He added in a hushed tone.
“Those are plushies. They’re originally made for kids, but it’s not unheard of for adults to have them.” V explained. She picked it up and held it as if showing it to him, even though he’s already seen it.”They’re very soft.” She said. N slowly lifted his hand and touched it on the head, and once he did, he seemed to calm down a little and nodded in agreement. Before V could say anything else, Tessa came back with a cardboard box. She placed it in the middle of the fort.“This is an old board game called The Game Of Life, from the early 2000’s! Would you like to play?” Tessa asked. N shook his head. V was a little saddened that she had only gotten him to talk for a short bit, but at least she had finally heard his voice. She was happy about that. She smiled and set the plushie down.”I’ll play.” She said.
N turned his head to outside the fort just before the three of them heard the door open and close. He slowly lifted the blanket and saw J and Cyn returning with the last pillows needed for the fort.”Did we miss anything?” Cyn asked as she climbed inside, mumbling the word “crawl” to herself. V shook her head as J soon followed Cyn into the second section.”No, we were going to wait for you two.” She said.
“Do you two want to play The Game Of Life?” Tessa asked. Pretty soon, the two came back and took their seats; N and V on the left side of the fort, Tessa and Cyn on the right side, and J sitting in front of the entrance to the other section. Now that everyone was there, N would be lying if he said he wasn’t starting to feel a little claustrophobic since he still wasn’t entirely comfortable around them, but he still wanted to see what was so fun about it.”Yes!” Cyn replied. She already knew which character she’d pick.”Yeah, I’ll play.” J agreed. Tessa opened the box, and after setting the board out on the floor and everyone got their characters, the game started.
~~~~~~~~~~~
“Again?!” J asked angrily. Cyn and Tessa both had their mouths covered and fought to surprise the urge to laugh at their friend’s dramatic reaction at landing on yet another tax space.”Why me?!” She asked. N looked slightly uncomfortable with her outbursts, but still stayed and said nothing. He could understand why she was upset, anyways. V, however, accidentally let a few giggles slip out. J glared at her.“Are you laughing at me?!” She asked.
“Snrk — No! No, I wasn’t laughing!” V said, smiling almost uncontrollably. J grabbed a pillow from right next to her and crawled outside of the fort, careful not to mess up the board.”Grab a pillow, V!” She said as she left. Tessa and Cyn looked at V.”Oh, you’re dead.” Tessa said. N’s eyes widened and he turned to V as she grabbed a nearby pillow.”Yeah, I know.” She said. Before she could leave, N reached an arm up in front of her and urged her to sit back down. V raised an eyebrow in confusion.”What are you doing?” She asked, but N didn’t move his arm or respond.”Can you please put your arm down so J and I can have our pillow fight?” She asked. N looked at her confused.
“Pillow fight. You know, you just hit each other with pillows, but not hard enough to do actual damage, just irritation.” V said. N stared at her for a few seconds before putting his arm down to let her go outside. V took the pillow and crawled outside, and N glanced over at Cyn and Tessa.”This happens sometimes, it’s harmless.” Cyn said, sensing N’s slight discomfort at the idea of an actual fight. Tessa, on the other hand, seemed oblivious to this as she grabbed a nearby pillow with a big smile of her face.”Have at thee!” She cried as she rushed out of the fort. Cyn looked at her slightly disappointed.”Some people are just a little competitive.” She said. They both soon heard grunting and the sound of pillows striking each other from outside the fort.
“Apologize!” J demanded. The following soft thud gave the impression that she just hit V with her pillow.
“I did!” V said.
“Apologize again!” J said.
“Surrender, villain!” Tessa chimed in, presumably going for J judging by the repetitive pillow strikes and J telling her to stop.
“Yeah, get her, Tessa! Ow! Wait, you’re supposed to be on my side!” V said.
“I’m on my own side, V!”
After a moment or two of pillow fighting, Cyn sighed and used her solver to pick up a pillow.”If you can’t beat them, join them.” She said. With that, she left the fort to also join the fight, leaving N to think.
He thought about what he’s done leading up to this point and what he should do next. These people have been surprisingly nice and understanding of something they didn’t even understand, even when he was very rude and lashed out at them for getting too close. He hadn’t been forced into any terrible training or sparring matches, but was instead often asked to do favors when he was awake, such as helping to put tables away for example. N wasn’t sure what exactly to think of everything happening, but it seemed to be safe. At least, compared to back at the facility. The only real threats seemed to be Louisa and the heat of this planet, and he could handle both of those problems. Listening to the others fight outside — the mixture of light thumps, giggles, and half hearted threats — N started to want to join them. It sounded a lot like wrestling or play fights, but on a softer level than even them. Slowly, he lifted the blanket to peek outside the fort.
J was using herself to shield Tessa from Cyn, who used the solver to pick up two pillows and throw them at the two. V was hiding under a desk and using her own pillow as a barrier, peeking out with a nervous, but also happy look. N let the blanket fall back down and looked at the pillows inside the fort. Should he join? How would he ask? And most importantly; how much strength should he use? The last thing he wanted was to accidentally ruin the fun by causing serious harm. N grabbed the pillow and peeked out again. J had grabbed one of the pulled Cyn threw and lightly smacked her with it.
Just enough to cause irritation.
N had made his decision, but he wasn’t going to strike just yet. He was going to do the same thing he’s been doing all along; watch and wait.
~~~~~~~~~~~
J stood in front of the other three proudly, holding her pillow at the fallen drones and human like a sword.”Anyone want to try facing me again?” She asked smugly. Cyn opened her mouth to say something, but then stopped when she noticed something. Behind J, N slowly crawled out of the pillow fort with a pillow in his hand. He noticed Cyn looking at him and put a finger up to his mouth with a small smile. Cyn nodded and looked back up at J.”I won’t.” She said, admitting defeat. Tessa shook her head and also noticed N creeping up behind the supposed winner, not making a single sound as he walked. She knew immediately what she had to do and played along.”No, I think you’ve beaten me this time.” She said. J glanced at V, who also caught on to what was happening. By now, N was almost right behind her.”You’ve beaten me, too.” She said, holding her hands up in surrender.
J let out a small laugh.”Looks like I win.” She said. N raised the pillow with one hand and tapped J on the shoulder. J hummed in confusion and calmly turned around, thinking someone had come in without her noticing. Instead, she saw N standing very close with a pillow in his other hand. Before she could lift her pillow up in defense, N had already hit her on the head with it. The whole thing caught her off guard and made her stumble a bit, but before she could recover, she tripped over Tessa’s foot and fell down on top of her. N’s face changed from slight mischief to surprise and leaned closer, looking pretty worried. Tessa soon started laughing and hugged J before she could get up, but that didn’t stop J from looking at him pretty surprised.”Where did you come from?!” She asked. N blinked and his shoulders shook a bit as he closed his eyes, like he was trying not to laugh. J fought in Tessa’s hold.”You dare laugh at me?! Tessa, let me go! This is war!” She said. Tessa couldn’t hold her for long, especially while laughing with V and Cyn, so J soon got out and picked up the pillow she had dropped during her fall.
She quickly started hitting N with the pillow repeatedly, but N appeared almost unbothered by it, simply trying to swat at her pillow and protect himself. He had stopped laughing, but still held back a smile the best he could. Despite it, though, the corners of his mouth twitched upwards multiple times. The entire time, the stinger on his tail would occasionally flick rapidly from side to side, almost like a dog wagging its tail. Soon enough, he dropped his pillow.”Ha! You’ve dropped your weapon! Admit defeat!” J shouted, holding her pillow up near his neck with both arms as if it was an actual weapon. N covered his mouth with one hand, definitely smiling now, and nodded. J gave him one last smack to the arm for good measure.”Good. Remember, I’m the pillow fight champion!” She declared. N nodded again and J set the pillow down.
V stood up and helped Cyn up.”Now that we’re done, how about we watch MLP?” She suggested. Tessa gasped and clapped her hands in excitement.”Yes!! I’ll go get it started! V, you go get the batteries!” She said, and before anyone could say more, she had sprinted out of the room to go find her father’s laptop. N raised an eyebrow and glanced between them.”I will explain it.” V said as she began to walk out of the room. N followed her.
As soon as they left, Cyn looked at J with a smile.”See? I told you he’s not that bad.” She said.

Hello there ^^ have you posted the list of books you're reading before by curiosity? If not would you mind sharing? I'm curious, if that's ok with you!
For those who haven’t seen this post, one of my New Year’s Resolutions is to finish my reading list. I picked 32 books/ stories from recs, classics, and titles which interested me. This is listed in ascending order, with my faovrites italicized (`・ω・´)
I hope this satisfies your curiosity, Anonie!! I enjoyed most of the stories, and I’m excited that this resolution is almost complete. Pls excuse my ramblings bc I couldn’t help adding some subjective comments for each story :>
Edit:: Resolution accomplished!! The final three book reviews have been added~
♡ The Blue Bird by Maurice Maeterlinck
It’s the only playwriting script on my list, and I can only imagine how visually exciting the stage performance must be. I learned about this story from @/mcdonaldsnumberone :3
♡ The Steadfast Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Andersen
This ended up on my list bc of Scaramouche. Need I say more??
♡ A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott
Aahhh this was so exciting to read. After rooting for the heroine’s liberation, I am both sad and awed by the ending. You can thank @/bye-bye-sunbird for this amazing rec (◍•ᴗ•◍)
♡ Poetic Fragments of Sappho (translated by Julia Dubnoff)
The emotions, the imagery, the references to Greek mythology *sobs* Sappho’s poetry is so intimate and beautiful, and I will be the first to cry if more fragments are discovered one day.
♡ We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
I appreciated the story more after reading the literary analyses. It’s pretty good.
♡ Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami
I was curious about Murakami’s work due to his popularity. I liked his writing style in Document 1, but I couldn’t properly appreciate the story bc of the male-gazey parts.
♡ The Hand of the Enemy by Kerima Polotan
Polotan’s writing style is *chef’s kiss.* I think she did a good job at explaining “the political is personal” through her characters.
♡ The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft
I’m not personally into Lovecraft’s writing style so I think I’ll stick to the summaries. It was nice to learn more about cosmic horror through the source material.
♡ Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
The book isn’t my type, so I have no comments.
♡ Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu
There are so many quotes which made me squeal as a yandere writer, and I can always appreciate a wlw vampire story. It inspired me to write for Yandere! Vampire Pantalone ( ´ཀ` )
♡ Heartless by Marissa Meyer
I love the whimsical writing style and Alice in Wonderland references. The food descriptions are so wonderfully written.
♡ Love and Olives by Jenna Evans Welch
My new favorite book by the author. Generally, I love how she writes about family, romance, and tourism. It helps that this specific story has connections to Greek mythology ✧˖°
♡ Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
A good satirical take on Gothic novels!! It was easy for me to fall in love with Austen’s writing and the character of Henry Tilney.
♡ Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
I don’t plan to read the sequels, but I did enjoy Anne’s sense of imagination.
♡ The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
This book isn’t my type so I don’t have much to say about it ^^;
♡ Spells for Lost Things by Jenna Evans Welch
Another wonderful story by the author. I love the magic and mystery in it.
♡ My Cousin Rachel by Daphne du Maurier
After falling in love with Rebecca, I had to check this out and now the author’s other works are in my next reading list. Simply put, I adored this.
♡ Creepover: It Spells Z-O-M-B-I-E! by P.J. Night
I read this out of nostalgia for the series and was utterly disappointed. It lacks many of the traits which made the other Creepover books so enjoyable to my younger self -.-
♡ The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell
Honestly, what can I say?? Just read the story and see for yourself ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა
♡ The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole
Another story which I can’t rlly comment on since the writing style isn’t my type.
♡ The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal
The horror and aesthetics is so artfully written, and Silas is an excellent example of an utterly despicable antagonist. I couldn’t stop reading until I reached the end.
♡ Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal
The freakshow/ circus setting offers a different morbid aesthetic. I can’t wait to read Macneal’s future works >:3
♡ You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao
A good story about grief. It has a brilliant detail about how Sam’s calls affect the heroine’s communication with other people. I do think the story would’ve been better if it were longer.
♡ And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
An excellent murder mystery which made me go “?!! :0” when the culprit was revealed.
♡ Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
I subscribed to the author’s YouTube channel, so I was naturally curious about this. I liked the mecha concept and historical references, but I have to agree with some of the negative reviews. The fact that I’m not into scifi also influenced my capacity to enjoy this book.
♡ A Wilderness of Sweets by Gilda Cordero-Fernando
Mere words cannot describe how good and sad this story is ;-;
♡ Grimms’ Fairy Tales by the Brothers Grimm
All those fairytales + the writing inspiration it gave me……..*rubs hands evilly*
♡ Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao
Again, I can’t say much about this book since I’m not into scifi + I’m not the target audience. I will say that I liked it more than Iron Widow due to the historical trivia, contemporary setting, and creative premise.
♡ Bone China by Laura Purcell
I am officially a fan of the author and I can’t wait to read her other works. More Gothic horror, here we go ٩( ᐛ )و
♡ Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
I now understand why @/diodellet and a book heroine cried reading this. Props to the author for the effective changes in writing style!!
♡ Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
It’s a good story but honestly not my type. There were times I found it hard to read but that might be due to the long paragraphs :T
♡ Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson
Another excellent mystery novel!! I like the self-aware protagonist, Knox’s Commandments, and the attention-catching title >:3

Little Women (1994/2019) Part 3 is now LIVE
We’ve reached the final part of our trilogy on Little Women, and the time has come to say good-bye to the March sisters and co… But not before we’ve thoroughly discussed these adaptations one last time!
So join us once more as we examine how the two films treat their male love-interests, how Gerwig reimagines the concept of the ‘family’, and as we question who, or what, we should be directing our criticisms towards when we critique these movies.
Can Little Women be a ‘story for every generation’? Or is this the wrong question?

I'm your huckleberry (Tombstone 1993) (Doc Holliday)
Description:
The joys of modern inventions and miracles are often taken for granted. Your hungry or thirsty? Get something from the fridge or make it. You need to go somewhere? Drive or call an uber. Your hurt? Go to the doctor.
Your bored? Watch a movie, play video games, watch videos on the internet, talk to people without ever leaving your house.
Some much time is in our hands... but back in the 19th century... you wouldn't last very long.
Diseases are rampant, gun violence is higher, no modern technology, barely any good medicine, almost all of your favorite food doesn't exist and most of the people are rude as hell. But... That doesn't mean all of them were so bad. Love was not something most people in this time really cared about. At least, in the town of Tombstone, Arizona.
After falling asleep with a nice looking stone you bought at a small stand at the carnival, your whole world becomes the opposite. Six people from the past discover you unconscious and alone in the blistering heat and offer help but it was their help that let you meet the most amazing man you've ever met.
John Henry "Doc" Holliday.
Chapter 15
Previous ~ Next
There would never be enough tears to let go for what happened two nights ago. Morgan was killed and Virgil lost the use of his left arm. When Doc heard about it he made sure you were ok and helped you and the Earps pack up. You were all leaving Tombstone and Morgans corpse would be taken to California for burial. It would be two days to get to get to Tucson at the train station and they wanted you to come with them but Wyatt had a different idea.
Wyatt had tried to have the cowboys sentenced for this but they were acquitted. Everyone knew they did it but they still got away with it. After the trial, Wyatt was fuming and had taken you and Doc aside. "I'm taking matters in my own hands. I need you both with me". You both agreed but so did Creek Johnson, Texas Jack and the cowboy known as Sherman McMasters. The same cowboy who gave up his title as cowboy the night that Morgan was murdered.
Wyatt was making sure that the wooden coffin of his brother was secured to the back of a wagon and only looked at Doc for a brief moment. You helped Mattie up to the back of the wagon as she then held Louisa close as she was still crying. Across the street was Josephine, who gave a glance to Wyatt and you, then she crossed the street and didn't dare to look back. "And so she walked out of our lives forever" you heard Doc say. Wyatt had gotten on the wagon that held his brothers coffin and you mounted up on Sylvie.
Wyatt started to move out with Virgil in his wagon right behind him and you following closely but Wyatt stopped his wagon in front of some of the cowboys, most noticeably Curly Bill, Johnny Ringo and Ike Clanton, and said, "Just wanna let you know it's over". Virgil stopped his wagon besides Wyatt's.
"Well... Bye" was all Curly Bill said.
"Smell that, Bill" Ringo said. "Smells like someone died". Curly Bill only laughed and you quickly responded with, "You better shut the fuck up, Ringo". Ringo only scoffed as some of the cowboys only raised their brows in confusion and slight shock. Wyatt continued the wagon and so did Virgil as you followed after them. You looked back at Doc for a moment and he gave you a blank stare. You did the same look and continued onward. The plan was simple but what was coming was putting you over the edge.
After two days, you all made it to the train station. Allie was about to guide you on the train but you stepped back. "(Y/n)? Come on".
"No. I'm not going".
"Oh, don't be ridiculous. Come now-"
"No, Allie" you said sternly. "I'm staying with Wyatt. I'm going with him". Allie and Louisa pretty much jumped off the train and Virgil and Mattie stood in place. "No! (Y/n), please, come with us" Louisa begged. "I lost Morgan and I will not lose you either"!
"I've made up my mind already, guys. I have to do this. Look, for so long, I never knew what to do with my life back home. But this, this is something I'm for certain gonna do". Louisa then hugged you tightly with Allie following along as well. You hugged them both so tightly, this may be the last time you'll ever see them. "I have to do this. I promise, I'll never forget any of you. I promise". The hug felt like it ended so soon and you wished it lasted longer but time wasn't on your side since the train was leaving. "Hey Virg" you said. "I don't get a hug from you" you faked gasped. "I thought you was my fwiend"!?
Virgil only laughed and stepped off the train to hug you with his only good arm. "I'm gonna miss you, old man".
"You don't know how much I'll miss you". You held onto him tightly and held back your tears so you wouldn't appear weak but a part of you was telling you that he wouldn't mind. But if you did start crying, you wouldn't stop. You said your goodbyes to Virgil and Mattie but Mattie didn't seem to care that much. You may not have been on the best of terms with her but you knew you'd still miss her.
They all got on the train and you went to go back to Doc who was on standby with Creek Johnson, Texas Jack and Sherman McMasters. Wyatt was further away down the station, waiting. And so were two cowboys. Frank Stillwell and Ike Clanton. "That's Virgil with the women" Frank said to Ike.
"He's mine" Ike replied and revealed he was carrying a shotgun. "Hey Mattie" Frank called out, "Where's Wyatt"?
"Right behind you, Stillwell".
Frank whipped around and was met with a shotgun blast to his chest which killed him instantly and making Ike drop his gun and get to the floor in fear. Virgil popped his head out the train window beside him to see what happened and Wyatt gave him a sendoff to which Virgil waved him off and wished him good luck. Wyatt still had his shotgun pointed at Ike with one hand as he approached him to then bring his boot up to his mouth and using his spur to slice his mouth. You, Doc, Creek Johnson, Texas Jack and McMasters came forward but still stood back.
"Alright, Clanton" Wyatt threatened. "You called down the thunder, well, now you got it"! Wyatt pulled his coat flap back to reveal a badge. "You see that? It says "United States Marshal"!
"Wyatt! Please don't kill me! Please" Ike begged so pathetically.
"Take a good look at him, Ike. 'Cause that's how you're gonna end up". Wyatt took a step towards Ike and put his boot on his neck, pinning him to the wooden platform. "The cowboys are finished! You understand me!? I see a red sash, I kill the man wearing it! So, run, you cur! Run"! Ike quickly got up and ran off. "Tell all the other Cur's the law's comin'! You tell 'em I'm comin'! And hell's comin' with me, ya hear! Hell's comin' with me"!

Stable
There's a new splash of colour in Limsa Lominsa's chocobo stables.
Written for ffxivwrite for the prompt 'stable'.
Limsa Lominsa's chocobo stables had a pink chocobo. This was hardly unusual, given that adventurers had lately learned that feeding a chocobo certain foods could change the colour of their plumage, but the pink certainly stood out amid the uniform yellow of the Maelstrom birds. This one, if the rumours were to be believed, had been hatched from Admiral Merwlyb's late chocobo Vicky, and had been a splendid yellow all throughout its adolescence. It had only been recently that a certain brown miqo'te had been adding certain fruits to its feed in a certain order. From anyone else, this would have been a prank. Veronyka, however, just liked the colour.
On the morning that the bird was discovered, the roegadyn woman in charge of the stables stood and stared in shock at the pink bird that joined its yellow brethren at the food trough.
"Ah, hells," she said, rubbing the back of her head. "Admiral won't be happy about this one." The bird seemed otherwise healthy, just... pink.
In an office not terribly far away, a miqo'te who somewhat resembled the culprit answered her linkpearl.
"Yes?" said Louisa. "There's what?" She sighed, remembering the basket of fruits that she'd seen her sister carrying to the stables, rubbing her temples. "I see. Thank you for letting me know." She ended the call, pressing her face into her hands. And then she rose to her feet.
The door to Veronyka's bedroom slammed open, causing the miqo'te to stir in her bed.
"M'nyka," her sister growled, and Veronyka began to bury herself under the covers. "Oh, no you don't." The covers were torn away, revealing a cringing teenaged miqo'te squinting against the light.
"What, I don't have anything to get up for today, you know me and Kebbe were out late last night," Veronyka grumbled, reaching in vain for the covers that were on the ground by her sister's feet.
"Would you like to explain why there's a pink chocobo in the Maelstrom stables?" Louisa asked. Veronyka gasped, wide awake now, ears perking up.
"Wait, it worked?" Veronyka asked. "Gods, I have to tell Baderon." Now she began to get out of bed, running around her room gathering up clothing to change into from her pyjamas. Louisa watched her sister, frowning.
"Baderon told you about this?" Louisa asked.
"Yeah!" said Veronyka, finding a pair of pants that were pretty clean and beginning to pull them on. "He gave me the feeding order and everything."
"What will the Admiral think?" Louisa fretted.
"Oh, it's fine, he said she won't mind," said Veronyka. Louisa groaned, shaking her head. "Look, if she's really that bothered, it's reversible."
"It is?" Louisa asked, her mind stopping in its tracks.
"Yeah, just feed it a lemon," said Veronyka. "But I've gotta see it, I'll be back later, bye Louisa!" And she was out the door, leaving Louisa blinking after her sister and wondering just how she was going to explain this to the Admiral.
